The singer — and star of All About Aubrey — has released the official cover artwork for her new single, “Automatic.” Fans of the hit Oxygen series will recognize the song from the show’s opening sequence. The release is a dream come true for the former Danity Kane member, who is hitting Hollywood with a new focus and drive to make her comeback and debut her first solo work. 

Natch, Aubrey is super stoked about the song, saying:

“I’m a proud new SRC/Universal Motown artist and I want to thank SRC CEO Steve Rifkind for believing in me. I also want to thank my loyal fans who have kept me going through this long journey of ups and downs. That’s why I’m excited to share my first dance single, ‘Automatic,’ with them. It’s the first song I recorded for my solo project because I wanted to represent all the people who don’t feel the need to go all out to get attention. This song is for everyone who automatically commands attention whenever they walk into a room! Everything they do is Automatic!”

The single will be available for purchase exclusively at iTunes starting on April 12, but you can see the scorching hot artwork right now!

What started the fight?

Sean cheated on Stephanie with another one of my friends.  I’m very protective over all my friends, as they are like family to me.  It really upsets me when someone doesn’t treat them properly.

Have you all made up?

It hasn’t been resolved yet, but we all apologized that it got out of hand.  It wasn’t my proudest moment and should have taken place behind closed doors, but I also wasn’t expecting Sean to be at my dinner with Stephanie.  She tried to push us to reconcile too soon and I obviously wasn’t ready.

Will this play out on your reality show?

My friends are also my cast, so you will see a lot of these types of battles on-screen too. A lot of issues came out during filming.

Celebuzz goes one-on-one with the singer about those pesky plastic surgery rumors, her struggle with body image and having to start all over again.

She’s returning to her reality roots with a new series All About Aubrey on Oxygen (premiering March 7), which chronicles her second chance at making her mark on the music charts. This time, she’s set to go solo. After getting pounded by critics who claimed that fame had changed her, she’s ready to wipe the past away and get back to basics.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about you?

“That I got caught up in fame or that I’ve had a lot of plastic surgery. What else have I read? Oh, that I’m not talented.”

There’s a scene in the first episode in the which you have to wash off all your makeup and strip down to a natural state. Did you find that liberating or terrifying?

“Both! My makeup — how much or how little I have on — is constantly affecting the way people see me in regards to everybody thinking I’ve had plastic surgery. I see a lot of things about how I’ve had things done to my face or whatever, which none of that is the truth. [But] sometimes I’ll look at pictures and think that maybe I don’t look like myself there. My eyes does look different or my lips look really big, or whatever it may be, and I think ‘Wow. People really only do know me through pictures.’ It could’ve been a lip plumper, or a bad makeup artist, too much makeup, too little makeup; whatever it may be. A lot of the feelings that I have about myself are heavily evolved around the makeup that I wear, which is such a silly thing.

It did feel liberating [to be in] a raw form that is able to take on whatever happens in that creative space. That’s what artistry should be about. It shouldn’t be about the makeup and costumes and drama. It really should be about what you’re giving on stage and how much you feel what you’re giving. It’s nice to have the makeup and hair and crazy costumes, or arriving on a red carpet on an eggshell, but it’s also not what the core of it is about.”

One thing that’s really relatable is your struggle with body image in the industry. Where do you think you are with that right now?

“I would say that it’s an ongoing process. I don’t think that there’s ever a quick fix to completely loving yourself in any phase. I think that that will always take time. I don’t think that everything’s as easy as a diet pill or a new workout plan or anything like that. I think that all of it has to do with how you feel about yourself internally and the relationship you have with yourself. A lot of that unfortunately is continuously being affected by external forces. Every day I try to get up and love myself no matter how I look or where I want to be.

Everybody at some point and to some degree wants to be appreciated and accepted by others. I wish I could sell some product or give you some bulls–t answer that makes everything go away, but it’s the process of time, and each circumstance and emotion you go through will help lead you through a stronger place piece by piece.”

So many people have had to start over and take that second chance. What’s some of the best advice you’ve gotten during that process?

“The best piece of advice that I’ve ever gotten is believing in yourself over everything else. That and my fans, because I have amazing fans that just wouldn’t let it go. Through all the hard nights, seeing all the things they had written to me and the support that they have given me really allowed me to feel like my purpose was still valuable to them. I think believing in myself got me through everything. I don’t know how many times I’ve been told ‘no’ and ‘you’re fired.’ [laughs] Well that’s only happened once, but I’ve heard the negativity from everyone At the end of the day, all those things really hurt me because I’m an Aquarius and so emotional and sensitive and want everyone to like me and be my friend. Bigger than that, I’ve always had a pressure on me and people rooting against me. I think at the end of the day, believing in myself is what made me continue — and seeing the press everywhere for All About Aubrey makes me feel like every bad day was worth it. All of those things are representations for the nights I just felt like I wouldn’t be able to continue doing what I love to do.”

Do you feel as though you have something to prove?

“I’d say I have something to prove to myself, and I would like others to appreciate it.”

Wait, hold on—before you go grabbing the torches and pitchforks, it’s totally true, at least according to the New York Post.

A source tells the paper that the Danity Kane outcast made a big-time play for celebrity deejay and former Lindsay Lohan GF Samantha Ronson at Las Vegas watering hole Lavo last Friday, but failed to land her prey, despite employing the time-tested wooing technique of mashing your ass against a glass plate and working your best stripper moves.

The Post reports,

The Danity Kane singer planted herself on top of a banquette directly in front of Samantha Ronson’s deejay booth and shook everything she’s got at the NASCAR Champion’s party at club Lavo in Las Vegas. A spy said, “She was doing everything to get Samantha’s attention, including grinding her derriere on the glass partition that blocked off the booth.”

And how did SamRo respond to this seemingly irresistible come-on? Um, she didn’t:

“Samantha totally ignored her.”

Wow, what’s a girl have to do to win hearts these days? Is romance dead?

The former Danity Kane singer has opened up to Us Magazine to discuss her controversial practice of constanly dyeing Ginger, her one-year-old teacup Maltese, a variety of colors.

“She likes to have looks,” O’Day says of the oft-dyed pooch. “It actually seems like such a taboo weird thing nowadays, but if you research online, you will see a whole underworld of dogs who are dyed.”

A whole underworld of dogs who are dyed? Why hasn’t anyone started a support group for them yet? 

Moreover, O’Day insists, she’s humane about the procedure, making sure that her vet approves all of the dyes she uses, and coloring Ginger when she’s asleep because it’s “hassle-free; she doesn’t even know [it's happening].”

“I do it like anyone would color hair,” O’Day says. “She sits on my lap, and I have a brush, and I paint it on and use foils.”

Not only does Ginger not mind having her fur glamorized—she actually enjoys it, according to O’Day. The dog “loves attention and because she’s colored and has different outfits, she gets so much of it. She prefers it.”

Uh…yeah. We suppose Ginger told you that herself, huh, Aubrey?

The former Danity Kane warbler appeared on Sean Hannity‘s Fox News show on Monday and did her best to win friends and influence people by praising Cuban leader Fidel Castro as “brilliant.”

Oh, and she said the same of Adolph Hitler, too.

After declaring that she had met and worked with Castro, O’Day declared, “I will 100 percent agree that he is an incredibly brilliant man.”

Uh, what?

Asked if she would also characterize Hitler as brilliant, O’Day didn’t hesitate. To say yes.

“Listen, I don’t condone Hitler one ounce, but yes, he was a brilliant man,” O’Day said, finding room in her mouth for the other foot. “Can you guys say that he wasn’t?” At which point, perhaps wisely, the show cut to commercial.

Maybe Aubrey can go on the Today show next, to tell everybody about how Charles Manson was just misunderstood.

Singer and Playboy model Aubrey O’Day has announced her ultimate girl crush.

The lucky lady? None other than celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson!

In an interview with Curve magazine, Aubrey spills, “Every time I see her (Ronson) I want to go over and talk to her, but it’s like she’s going to be like, ‘You’re that girl that tried to say you’re gay everywhere,’ and I’m like, ‘No, I promise—get to know me. We’d be perfect together.’”

To throw even more fuel into the fire, Aubrey goes on to blast Lindsay and Sam’s relationship.

“Lindsay and that relationship made it such a joke. It was just, like, on every cover, on every tabloid. Their relationship has been her job for the past year. You just can’t live up to that entire Disneyland circus that went on in your relationship.”

The former Danity Kane songbird and current solo artist (who has her own reality show in the works) tells Curve magazine in its September issue, “I’m one of the most underestimated people in the industry. People don’t expect much from me. They expect me to be a hot mess, they expect me to say all the wrong things and wear the wrong outfits. That’s how I like it though. I think it’s really easy to move through the industry as a woman when you’re underestimated.”

Interesting technique. But then, as O’Day tells it, she marches to the beat of her own drummer—and tough luck if you don’t like it.

“I don’t do anything for other people’s enjoyment. I think I’ve made that pretty clear,” O’Day asserts. “You know sometimes when you make bold moves you look back [and think], Maybe I just should have been a part of the machine instead of rebelling. I still say that about old relationships though, too. But at the end of the day you just have to do…the best you can for who you are in that moment.”

Aubrey O’Day: Living in the moment and making the dream a reality, no matter what the haters say. It’s a philosophy we can all learn a little something from.

Her role? Peep Diva, the show’s mistress of ceremonies.

Scott Zeiger, co-CEO of Base Entertainment, said in a statement: “Aubrey is a talented and extremely gifted performer with Broadway, television and recording credits. Aubrey is one of the sexiest entertainers in the industry today and we are thrilled to welcome her to the ‘Peepshow’ cast.”

Kendra and Hank are so in love! We love how Kim said the hottest bachelor under 30 is her brother Rob Kardashian! And we can’t wait to see Aubrey’s new show!

The singer recently shot an ad campaign for the celebrity-supported NOH8 Campaign, and rumors have emerged that do not paint her in the greatest light. Sources on the set claimed that was a complete diva, demanded car service, and then stiffed her driver a tip. 

However, NOH8 cofounders Adam Bouska and Jeff Parhsley are rushing to her defense. They told Us Weekly, “We are happy and excited to have Aubrey O’Day apart of the NOH8Campaign.”

“It is unfortunate that while doing something for the greater good someone found pleasure in trying to tear it down. Aubrey believes in marriage equality which is exactly what this campaign is about. We had a great time shooting her and we can’t wait to release the PSA next week. Aubrey O’Day and the NOH8 Campaign will continue to work together in the fight against hate and discrimination.”

Aubrey also took to her twitter account to express her disgust over the diva accusation. “It’s sad to think that people cant defend a just and honorable cause without being hated on! When has entertainment and profit become more important than the human heart!”

The My Life on the D-List star—who hosted the event—and the former Danity Kane songbird eschewed the traditional high five in favor of touching tongues on the red carpet.

According to Bravo, the A-List Awards honor “those who have made an unforgettable mark in the arts and showcase some of the leading creative minds in today’s society.” It’s uncertain how Griffin and O’Day’s display fit into that equation.

This year’s awards, which will be broadcast on April 15, will also pay special tribute to recently deceased actress Natasha Richardson for her work with the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR), Celebrity News Service reports. Richardson had recently appeared on Bravo show Top Chef to promote the charity.
