No. 3: Dancing with the Stars – The hit ABC show just celebrated their 300th episode. Can you believe this is the 16th season of the show? We still can’t get enough of Val Chmerkovskiy though.

No. 2: Beyonce – The singer is back on stage after cancelling a show for dehydration and exhaustion. This has only further sparked rumors that she’s expecting her second child. On Friday, E! News reported that multiple sources have confirmed she is, indeed, pregnant.

No. 1: Angelina Jolie – Known for being a global humanitarian, the actress stepped forward this week in a New York Times op-ed in which she revealed that she underwent a double mastectomy.

Barbara Walters will officially retire in summer 2014, the legendary television journalist confirmed to ABC News late Sunday evening.

“I am very happy with my decision and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead both on The View and with ABC News. I created The View and am delighted it will last beyond my leaving it,” she said.

She is expected to elaborate on her decision on Monday’s episode of The View.

Between now and May, Walters will continue to appear on The View and report for ABC News. She also has plans to host an Oscars special, as well as a career retrospective in May.

Walters has been with ABC News for 37 years. Her career began in 1961 at NBC’s Today, where she would eventually become the first female to co-anchor a morning network news program.

Dina Lohan has released a statement defending her troubled daughter Lindsay Lohan following her latest arrest in New York.

The 26-year-old actress landed herself in more hot water after she was arrested for allegedly striking blonde Tiffany Eve Mitchell, 28, at club Avenue in Manhattan’s Chelsea district.

And as she faces mounting legal problems, her mom and manager tried to deflect some of intense media heat currently on her daughter.

“At this time I kindly ask that you extend to my family the time we need to address my daughter’s circumstances with the appropriate parties,” Dina said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. ”As a mother you always love and pray for the best with all your children. Our family’s bond grows deeper and stronger during the tough times and I am beyond proud of all of my children for the love and devotion they provide for each other.

“We are there for and stand by one another unconditionally,” she added. “Many thanks to all that have expressed concern for my daughter. Your compassionate thoughts and prayers are received with my deepest gratitude.”

Lohan was booked for a third-degree misdemeanor assault following the incident before being released from a New York police station around 7.30 a.m. this morning.

And just hours later she was formally charged with three misdemeanors by the Santa Monica city attorney after she was involved in a crash in her Porsche on Pacific Coast Highway back in June.

She told police investigating the incident that she was a passenger in the car when it struck a big-rig when in fact she was actually driving.

Although Momma Lohan is pleading for calm around her daughter, veteran television host Barbara Walters confessed today that even her patience is wearing thin for The Liz & Dick star.

“Good heavens, where does it end with this girl,” she said on today’s edition of The View.

“It’s one thing after another. I have mixed feelings about it because she shouldn’t be there (at the bar where the incident took place) at 4 o’clock in the morning.”

Lindsay Lohan’s latest arrest was the main topic of conversation for the ladies of ABC’s The View on Thursday.

“Good heavens, where does it end with this girl?,” mused Barbara Walters on the show, after admitting she had a soft spot for the troubled actress. “It’s one thing after another. I have very mixed feelings about it because she shouldn’t be there [at the bar where the incident took place] at 4 o’clock in the morning.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck also admitted, “I also sort of have a soft spot for her because I feel bad for her but this wouldn’t happen if it was 2 p.m. in a library. At some point, [people] need to stop letting her put herself in that bar or she needs to stop walking into bars.”

Meanwhile, co-host Whoopi Goldberg jumped to the actress’ defense, saying that no one really knows what actually went on in that nightclub when Lohan reportedly punched Tiffany Eve Mitchell in the face while at club Avenue.

Lohan will be charged with a third-degree misdemeanor assault for the fight.

“We don’t know anything except that we’ve heard that Lindsay hit somebody again,” explained Goldberg. “Probably, most of us sitting here will say, well, of course, that’s Lindsay Lohan, so we have already made this decision that she must be guilty because the lady said so.”

Walters, whose interview with the 26-year-old was recently canceled by her new PR team, added, “When you meet Lindsay, and this is all I want to say, and I’ll say it again and again, I am always touched by her.”

“I think she, as they say, puts herself in harm’s way and I worry about her,” the veteran journalist said.

When fellow co-host mentioned her parents being partially responsible, Walters added, “At some point, you have to take your own responsibility [for your actions].”

Barbara Walters is still stinging over her canceled interview with Lindsay Lohan.

“She said [she'd do it] when it’s right,” Walters said on The View Wednesday. “I should live so long.”

The co-host then quickly softened her stance, saying, “I want to take it back. I will say this — I would love to interview her. Start fresh without the few clouds that are over her. She’s a nice girl… and I appreciate what she said.”

“What happened is that Lindsay Lohan had promised me her first interview,” Walters continued. “And, you know, there are certain questions that should be asked, and just before the interview, her new PR people canceled.”

But they didn’t cancel an appearance on Tuesday night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where Lindsay discussed her Walters’ withdrawal and said she’d reschedule when the timing was right.

So is Walters jealous of Jay? Not after getting a call from the main man himself.

“I heard she was going to do Jay,” Walters said. “And Jay — I have to say — was very sweet, he called me and said, ‘Look, I didn’t take her from you’ and so on. [But] I’d been working forever on the questions. I’d gone to California to show her on Liz & Dick.”

This isn’t the first time Walters has commented on the canceled interview. On the Nov. 12 episode of The View, she said, “If they’d said to me, ‘You know, Barbara, she isn’t up to the kinds of questions that you might ask’ … If they had told me that, I wouldn’t feel quite as disappointed as I do today.”

Lohan’s Liz and Dick airs Sunday night at 9 PM on Lifetime.

Days after Lindsay Lohan pulled out of an interview with Barbara Walters for ABC’s 20/20, the news broke on Monday that the Liz & Dick star has signed on to appear on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

On Monday’s episode of The View, Walters simply said, “I am happy for my colleague Jay Leno.”

As co-host Whoopi Goldberg pointed out, there was definitely a “but” at the end of that sentence.

Walters reveals that a rep from Lohan’s new publicity firm, Rogers & Cowan, called to cancel saying, “Lindsay doesn’t feel up to it.”

But with the news that she will be sitting down with Leno breaking, Walters and her co-hosts realized that wasn’t the whole truth, especially in light of the on-set drama at the Lifetime movie and the ongoing investigation into her car accident from June.

“If they’d said to me, ‘You know, Barbara, she isn’t up to the kinds of questions that you might ask.’” Walters explained. “Though, most of them were comparing her life to Elizabeth Taylor, both child stars, both aggressive mothers, etcetera, and it would have been a wonderful, wonderful interview and she could have set a lot of things straight. If they would have told me that, I wouldn’t feel quite as disappointed as I do today.”

ABC had previously told Celebuzz it was also “disappointed” about the cancelation.

And PR expert Howard Bragman told Celebuzz that it may have been a good move to pull her from the Walters interview. “Sometimes, it can be worse to do an interview that you’re not ready for,” he said.

It was to be another major coup for media doyenne Barbara Walters and ABC’s 20/20, but alas it was clearly not meant to happen. Lindsay Lohan pulled out of her much-publicized interview with Walters late on Thursday.

“We are disappointed that Lindsay cancelled the interview,” an ABC News spokesperson tells Celebuzz. “And wish her well.”

As Celebuzz previously reported, a source says the star and her new publicists at firm Rogers & Cowan “were dissatisfied with the direction ABC wanted to take the interview.”

Subsequently, a source tells TMZ that talks broke down over ABC News’ request to speak with the 26-year-old about her personal life, including her car accident in June.

The incident is still under investigation amid allegations that Lohan lied to police about the crash. The PR firm reportedly wanted to avoid the possibility that Lohan will say something during the sit-down that will adversely affect her case.

Reportedly, Lohan feels terrible about canceling on Walters, who she considers to be a family friend.

Lohan was set to appear on the news magazine show to promote her Lifetime TV movie, Liz & Dick. The star plays Elizabeth Taylor in the movie that chronicles the Cleopatra star’s dramatic relationship with two-time husband, actor Richard Burton.

Lohan’s reps didn’t immediately respond to Celebuzz’s request for comment.

Lindsay Lohan has pulled out of interview with vertan journalist Barbara Walters.

The oft-troubled starlet was scheduled to appear on ABC’s 20/20 program on November 16 for an interview timed to coincide with the release of her Lifetime tele-movie Liz & Dick.

However, Deadline reported the actress’ new publicists at Hollywood firm Rogers & Cowan confirmed to the site that the 26-year-old actress will not be appearing for the sit-down interview.

“A source tells Deadline that Lohan and her new PR team were dissatisfied with the direction ABC wanted to take the interview,” the entertainment news outlet reported.

News of Lohan’s backflip comes after it emerged she faces a return to jail if investigators can prove she lied to officials about her role in a June traffic accident.

The actress told police she was not driving her Porsche, which was totaled after a collision with a trailer on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu, Calif.

However, according to the Los Angeles Times, investigators have evidence suggesting Lohan lied when she told authorities that she was not behind the wheel of her vehicle at the time of the accident.

Liz & Dick airs November 25.

Lindsay Lohan will sit down for an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, sources confirm to E! News.

According to the report, Walters recently visited the set of Lohan’s new TV movie, Liz & Dick, where the troubled 26-year-old starlet took the famed TV journalist behind the scenes of the much-anticipated production and gave a couple of interviews.

An updated interview will also be added to the special, which is set to air in the coming weeks.

Liz & Dick, in which Lohan portrays the late Oscar-winning icon Elizabeth Taylor, airs Nov. 25 on Lifetime.

Meanwhile, more trouble is ahead for Lohan on the home front. According to TMZ, mom Dina is pressing her daughter to get a protection order against her father, Michael, which would cut off all communication.

Lohan is said to be wary of the idea, as she feels it’s too extreme.

The move comes about a week after Lohan and Dina got into a nasty, violent fight after clubbing together in New York. During the fight, Lohan called Michael and accused Dina of being on cocaine.

She subsequently apologized and said her accusations were false.

The presidential candidates’ ongoing campaign of dueling talk show appearances continues Tuesday with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama‘s joint visit to ABC’s The View.

Speaking with Barbara Walters and her co-hosts in an interview pre-taped on Monday, the couple discussed many topics, from economic policy to their relationship to the relative merits of the president’s opponent, Governor Mitt Romney. Point blank, Walters asked the POTUS, “Would it be disastrous for the country if Mitt Romney were elected?”

Obama answered, “Well, you know I think America is so strong, and we’ve got so much going for us that we can survive a lot. But the American people don’t want to just survive, we want everybody to thrive, we want folks to have a shot at success, and so the question then just becomes, whose policies are more likely to lead us to where we want to go?”

What else did the President and First Lady speak about?

While the First Lady can deliver a killer speech, as evidenced by her rousing turn at the Democratic National Convention, she said that she doesn’t have the patience to be the president and that she does not have any political aspirations in the future à la Hillary Clinton.

The POTUS also said he’d love to work with young people when he is out of office. He told The View, “I love teaching. I miss teaching and I’m not sure necessarily it will be in a classroom, but the idea to be able to go around to various cities and helping to create mentorships and apprenticeships and just giving young people the sense of possibility.”

For now though, the President is focused on getting re-elected for a second term by, “wrapping up the war” and, “putting folks back to work and making sure our schools are up to snuff.”

As far the candidates’ differences on  economic policy, Obama cited Romney’s interview on Sunday’s 60 Minutes, in which the Republicant said he believes it’s not unfair that he pays a lower tax rate than someone making less money and suggested that keeping taxes low on the wealthy is the way to get economic growth.

Obama’s response: “I’ve just got a different vision about how we grow an economy. I think, Barbara, that you grow an economy from the middle out, not from the top down, and that when the teacher and the bus driver and the receptionist and the office manager — when they’ve got a little money in their pockets, when they’re doing well, then that means business has more customers, that business makes more profits, they hire more workers, and that’s been the history of our country, we grow fastest when the middle class is doing well and when folks who are trying to get into the middle class have ladders of opportunity.”

The Democrat continued, “So that’s a different vision about how we move the country forward, and ultimately it’s going to be up to the American people to make the decision about who’s got the better plan.”

To which the First Lady chimed in, “I’m voting for him.”

Romney has called The View a “high-risk” venue and has called its all-female panel “sharp-tongued.” Nonetheless, he has promised to visit the show in October. Meanwhile, his wife, Ann Romney, will appear Tuesday night on NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

The Obamas’ episode of The View airs Tuesday at 11 AM on ABC.

Maybe 2012 really will be the end of the world, because reports are flying that legendary journalist Barbara Walters is planning to retire.

According to TMZ, the 20/20 news anchor, as well as producer and former co-host of The View, will finally retire after a decades long career. Babs supposedly spilled the beans to President Obama after an interview and according to TMZ’s source:

“During a break in the action, Barbara leaned over to Obama and said, ”I need one more interview with you because I’m retiring next year.” Here’s the thing .. Barbara’s mic was open when she said it, and lots of people were listening.”

Nothing is confirmed or official, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

On Wednesday night, Barbara revealed that late Apple founder Steve Jobs was her most fascinating person of 2011 in a TV special that aired on ABC. This marks the first time a deceased person earned the title. To see who else made the cut, check out the gallery above.

And now we get it. Justin Bieber was one of Barbara Walter‘s Most Fascinating People of 2010 most likely because he’s so freaking good at the “Dougie.” So when Biebs came to ABC studios to film for her TV special, she recruited him to teach her how.

Justin Bieber has finally broken his silence over his now infamous back-seat smooch with “Baby” co-star Jasmine Villegas.

In a preview of Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2010 special, Baby Biebs  explained the kiss heard ’round the world:

“It just kind of happened and I don’t know. It’s not really weird. Is it weird? I think every 16-year-old kisses a girl, right, so that’s not nothing out of the ordinary.”

“I was kissing her,” Justin continued, “Well, I was just, I don’t know, I was just kissing her. That’s about it.”

While Justin admits that he and Jasmine V kissed, he insists that they aren’t a serious item. When Barbara asked him if he was dating her, the 16-year-old pop star told her that “it’s just a kiss.”

Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and friends have hit the jackpot in pop culture infamy: They’re reportedly fascinating to Barbara Walters.

The legendary ABC newswoman will include the fist-pumping, marinara-loving MTV reality stars in her Most Fascinating People of 2010 primetime special, according to Life & Style Weekly.

“The cast members are gathered in NYC — Snooki and J-Woww appeared today on Live: With Regis and Kelly and the Situation was on The View, both ABC shows,” the report says. “The cast is scheduled to tape its segment for Walters’ special today or tomorrow.”

If The Sitch and company do sit down for a softly-lit chat with Ms. Walters, they will join the ranks of reputed ‘fascinating people’ past like President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Jay-Z and Angelina Jolie. However it wouldn’t be the first time a reality star and tabloid fixture made Walters’ list: Kate Gosselin was tapped as one of the most fascinating of 2009.

Barbara Walters took some time on yesterday’s episode of The View to deliver a review of Sacha Baron Cohen‘s comedic epic Bruno. And, well, she didn’t exactly give it two thumbs up. But she did provide some comedy of her own.

While basically condemning the movie as pornographic and imploring her viewers not to take their kids to the flick (duh), Walters offered some specific tidbits about the movie and her take on it.

“I don’t need to know how you are doing anal intercourse,” Walters huffed.

We bet you don’t, Babs.

To her credit, Walters did stay through the whole movie, despite (or perhaps because of?) the fact that it was so vile. Check out the video exchange below:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 31, announced that she’s pregnant with her third child on this morning’s episode of The View.

“I’m pregnant again!” the spunky conservative and death-threat recipient announced. “I’m due in August. I’ll try to pop this one out before we leave [on summer hiatus], Barbara.” (Barbara, of course, being View head hostess Barbara Walters.)

Hasselbeck already has two children with husband Tim Hasselbeck, 30, a former NFL quarterback. Grace is 3, and son Taylor just turned a year old.

Hasselbeck, known for being the lone Republican conservative voice amidst the View ladies, said that she was taken by surprise by this pregnancy.

“I was knocked up and didn’t realize it! We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it,” she said. “I didn’t even know for two months.”

Though they no longer work together, former View cohorts Barabara Walters, 79, and Rosie O’Donnell, 48, just can’t stop taking pot-shots at each other.

Taking a break from the in-fighting of the show’s current panel, Walters devoted part of Thursday’s broadcast to a jab at O’Donnell—who left the show in 2007 under less-than-amicable terms.

Walters lambasted certain former View co-hosts who “feel they have to dump on [the show], maybe for their own publicity.”

Imploring the unnamed target to “get on with your life,” Walters refers to her subject only as “lady.”

That was evidence enough for O’Donnell, who did what she does best—she blogged about it Friday.
