A slew of celebs came out this past weekend to do just that at The Give Back Hollywood Foundation “Hollywood Pledge” launch in Beverly Hills this past weekend, where American Idol runner-up Blake Lewis took the stage! 

In partnership with ABC, The Hollywood Reporter, The SAG Foundation and Glam Rock Watches, The Hollywood Pledge website brings together the biggest names in music, fashion, sports and entertainment to stand together and publicly “Pledge” their support for charities nearest to their hearts – and encourage their fans worldwide to give back as well!

The celebrity guest list included Glee bully Max Adler, Ashlee Keating, BooBoo Stewart, Catt Sadler, Charlene Amoia, Colin Cunningham, Ephraim Salaam, Fivel Stewart, Jared Dauplaise, Jayson Blair, Jon Huertas, Josh Sussman, Kara Taitz, Katie Leclerc, Lexi Ainsworth, May Wang, Seamus Dever, Simon Curtis, Spencer Falls, Taylor Armstrong, Teck Holmes, Taryn Manning and Terrell Owens. Witness, Fantasia Barrino and Blake Lewis, who had legions of devotees and have now both been dropped by their reps.

Beat-boxer Blake, a season-six runner-up, just learned Arista won’t stick with him, and he ably spun the dumping on his blog: “Oh well. I guess the right time was now. No biggy. I’m still with 19 Recordings.”

Way to keep the faith, man!

The 19 nest isn’t all that cushy. The management behemoth just axed Fantasia. Sure, her first two CDs went gold, and she starred in The Color Purple on Broadway. But she’s been missing performances and become more of a curiosity than a star.

The ride up is always exhilarating, but the drop really smarts. Anyone seen Ruben Studdard or Taylor Hicks lately?
