When Brad Paisley released his new song “Accidental Racist” last week, it immediately became the toast of the internet. In the song, Paisley laments he can’t wear a Confederate flag without offending people. Which, ha, duh. The song also features LL Cool J who at one point raps, “If you don’t judge my gold chains/I’ll forget the iron chains.” Seriously.

So on his show last night, Stephen Colbert decided to release his own take on the song and called it “Oopsie-Daisie Homophobe” and invited actor Alan Cumming to play the LL to his Paisley.

With a new album on the way, Brad Paisley is moving on up.

The country crooner and his wife, Nashville actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, have listed their Pacific Palisades near Los Angeles for a whopping $2.995 million.

According to the listing, the vintage 3,394 square feet home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a stunning two-story living room furnished with a fireplace, beamed ceilings and stained glass windows.

What else is in their California digs?

The 40-year-old musician has also decked out his large gourmet kitchen — completed with breakfast area — with stainless steel appliances. The cooking area also leads to a formal dining room.

Upstairs, the master bedroom suite includes a separate tub and shower, fireplace and an outdoor deck with views of the ocean and the property’s lush backyard filled with citrus trees.

Since Williams-Paisley films her ABC series in — you guessed it — Nashville, Tenn., it’s no surprise that the “Letter to Me” singer is returning back to his country roots to be closer to his ladylove.

The couple are also proud parents to sons William Huckleberry, 5, and Jasper Warren, 3 — so moving to a bigger home may have been already on their minds.

Beads, boob-flashing and booze-fueled parades — such is the glory of Mardi Gras.

And as the annual festivities roll around each February, celebrities fly south to New Orleans soak up the Gras gaiety. This year, like every year, the Big Easy entertained a string celebrity-studded parades — put on by the krewes of Endymion, Bacchus and Orpheus, social clubs that coordinate the elaborate floats and costumes — during the lead up to Fat Tuesday.

Kelly Clarkson served as the Grand Marshal of Endymion on Saturday, waving from atop a float before performing in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome amid purple, green and gold lights, marking the first major event hosted at the arena since the Super Bowl blackout.

“I’m the Grand Marshal of Mardi Gras!!! Most fun ever!!!!!… Yeahhhhh! (sic) Endymion Parade,” she tweeted excitedly, adding that she and fiancé Brandon Blackstock ”had so much fun leading the Mardi Gras parade!”

The following day, actor G.W. Bailey of TNT’s Major Crimes reigned as the king of the Bacchus parade, a honor held by comedian Will Ferrell last year. And Monday afternoon, Nick Cannon will ride as a celebrity monarch in the krewe of Orpheus, along with krewe co-founder Harry Connick Jr., CSI: NY star Gary Sinise and award-winning actress Mariska Hargitay.

Last year, Shutter Island actress Patricia Clarkson reigned over the all-women krewe of Muses, rock-pop band Maroon 5 rode with the krewe Endymion, and music superstars Bret Michaels and Cyndi Lauper teamed up with Orpheus.

While some celebrities revel Mardi Gras from atop a festooned flat, tossing countless trinkets and beads to the cheering crowds below, others — like Girls Gone Wild partier Luke Wilson and beads-horder Kate Hudson— mix in with the partying masses right on the streets of the Big Easy.

So in honor of Fat Tuesday, a day devoted to frivolous partying in the final hours before Ash Wednesday — which kicks off the Catholic Lenten season of sacrifice — Celebuzz looks back at some celebrities who have gotten into the Mardi Gras spirit in the past.

With fans like Madonna, Britney Spears, Ellen DeGeneres and Heidi Klum, it’s little surprise Psy‘s ”Gangnam Style” has taken the world by storm.

On Saturday, it achieved yet another magical milestone: The music video moved past the 803,732,000 YouTube views Justin Bieber‘s music video “Baby” racked up, to become the most-watched video of all time.

Now, Madonna has hopped on the bandwagon — breaking out into the iconic dance inspired Korean pop sensation Psy‘s “Gangnam Style.” During her Tuesday night MDNA tour concert in New York City, the Material Girl teamed up with the South Korean singer for a three-song set.

“I have a little surprise for you,” Madge told the 20,000-strong cheering crowd at Madison Square Garden. “A song that I’ve sung for a while,” she said before the first few highly-recognizable chords of Psy’s chart-topping hit played. As she sung the lyrics to a remixed “Give It To Me,” Psy appeared on stage and yelled into the mic, “Are you ready NYC?”

Wearing a crisp red suit and sunglasses, Psy led Madonna and her bevy of backup dancers in his side-stepping horse dance, which shot to worldwide fame from his viral YouTube video, currently at over 720 million likes. Along with “Gangnam Style” and “Give It To Me,” the duo performed Madonna’s hit “Music.”

This isn’t the first time Psy — whose real name is Jae-Sang Park — has schooled a star in his self-described “dress classy, dance cheesy” moves. In September, Ellen DeGeneres invited Psy to her daytime talker to teach Britney Spears how to do the so-called invisible horse dance.

The following month, he popped up on the Sydney set of Wolverine, where he helped Hugh Jackman cut a rug. And just two weeks ago, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley channel Psy’s smooth moves as they hosted the 2012 CMA Awards.

American Idol champ Scotty McCreery took quite the fall during his performance on Thurs., Aug. 10, while opening up for Brad Paisley. Luckily, the 18-year-old singer is alright.

What did he have to say about the mishap?

Later that night, the country singer tweeted “Dagum ‪@BradPaisley pranked me again.. he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song….. ‪#MeetTheCrowdNight ‪#ImOk.”

Known to be a prankster, Paisley then set up bright cones for the younger singer to ensure the accident didn’t happen again. You can see the photo  here.

A few days later, McCreery is still laughing about the incident even tweeting  a link to a short video saying “If anybody wants a good laugh…”

Is American Idol going country?

According to Deadline, FOX’s hit singing competition has its eye on a popular crooner to replace outgoing judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

The move could prove satisfying to longtime Idol viewers: they’re the ones who voted country singers Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCeery champions in Season 4 and Season 10, respectively.

Paisley is best known for his songs “We Danced,” “Letter To Me” and “I’m Still a Guy.” He’s scored a whopping 16 number-one singles on Billboard‘s country chart, along with seven top-selling albums.

Last week, Idol announced pop superstar Mariah Carey is joining the show.  The diva is reportedly being paid a record-setting $18 million.

Kevin Costner and James Cameron are far from the only celebrities offering a helping hand in light of April’s catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Cameron Diaz, Justin Bieber, Robert Redford and Sting were among a slew of stars to pitch in for a special two-hour marathon, Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help, which aired on Monday night. And as of the time the marathon’s broadcast ended, their work netted $1.3 million for the oil-spill clean-up effort.

Bieber, in particular, did his part to encourage the younger demographic to bust open their piggy banks, imploring his fans, 

“The oil disaster in the Gulf has been a big problem. But every little bit can help. There’s no such thing as being too young to pitch in. And this is urgent. What we do now can affect our future. You can donate money or time or anything to the groups that you’ve heard about on this show.”

Country singer Brad Paisley, meanwhile, played his card as a native of Louisiana to urge people to action:

“It’s devastating. Anybody that’s ever been down there will tell you that it’s some of the finest people you will ever meet down in South Louisiana. And they will give you their shirt off their back… And they’re in trouble… It’s just heartbreaking.”

Taylor Swift stepped out of her comfort zone at the CMT Awards on Tuesday night, busting out some previously hidden mad rhyming skills with rapper T-Pain for the ceremony’s opening number, “Thug Story.”

A gritty song about the skills that one needs to survive on the streets—such as, in Taylor’s case, baking cookies—served as an early high point for one of the biggest nights in country music.  But the Fearless songbird’s night was far from over. The 19-year-old went on to pick up Video of the Year and Female Video awards for her clip “Love Story.” (The video’s director, Trey Fanjoy, also won kudos.) The nominees for the 44th Annual Country Music Awards were announced this morning, and Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift all received nominations, according to the Academy of Country Music’s Web site.

The lucky nominees were announced in a press conference this morning by a country-gal quartet consisting of Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes and Jessica  “right where she needs to be” Simpson at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“I’m Still a Guy” singer Paisley leads the pack with six nominations, including Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist.

Chesney follows right behind Paisley with four nominations, and is competing with Paisley in the areas of Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist.

“White Horse” rider Swift, 19, received two nods: One for Top Female Vocalist, and another for Video of the Year for her song “Love Story.”

The awards ceremony will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 5 on CBS.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are cementing their domination of this year’s Country Music Awards, airing November 12.

In a addition to being nominated for a clutch of awards between them and performing at the ceremony, the duo will be hosting the event, OK! reports.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to host the Awards show,” says Paisley, who’s nominated for four statuettes this year. “We’re going to gave a good time—start to finish.”

Graceless breaker-upper and truth-stretcher Underwood, who’s up for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for her Carnival Ride disc, added, “I am so excited to host a show I grew up watching, and am so thrilled to spend this night with friends and Brad…It’s going to be a party!”

The party might be livelier than expected, if a certain country-music songbird makes an appearance. Could this be the first year that Best Catfight is added to the CMAs’ list of categories?
