Eager moviegoers sat on the edges of their theater seats in Hoboken, New Jersey, Wednesday night as they waited for the silver screen to light up with the first-ever fan screening of hotly-anticipated apocalyptic thriller, World War Z.

Little did they know they were in for a once-in-a-lifetime surprise — because in walked Brad Pitt, the bold-name star and producer of the film.

“I want to thank you all for coming out tonight. Let me tell you what happened,” Pitt, dressed in all black with his hair pulled back, told the cheering, star-struck crowd. “So they called me up and say, ‘We’re going to do this showing in the city and we got to do media.’ I said, ‘OK. But we can’t doing it without showing it to the people we made the film for! We got to do a screening for the fans.’”

“So we decided, no better place to do that than Jersey,” he continued. “So here we are. We got t-shirts for everyone. Everyone will get one on the way out. We got a monster film for ya. It’s epic, it’s scary as hell, and I guarantee you it’s the most intense thing you’re going to see all summer. So, Jersey, enjoy!”

With fiancée Angelina Jolie and their beautiful brood of six, Brad Pitt is the archetypal family man.

But that wasn’t always the case. It was a long road to happily ever after for the Hollywood leading man.

“For a long time I thought I did too much damage — drug damage,” Pitt says in the June/July 2013 issue of Esquire, which hits newsstands May 31. “I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years f***ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.”

It was that feeling pushed Pitt to finally make a “conscious change” about a decade ago, helping him to get him to the life he leads today. “It was an epiphany — a decision not to squander my opportunities,” he explains. “It was a feeling of, ‘Get up.’ Because otherwise, what’s the point?”

Now, Pitt is in the perfect place. His world revolves around Jolie, his partner of almost eight years, and their bustling home of six children: Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 6, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4.

“I have very few friends. I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven’t known life to be any happier,” he says. “I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

And Pitt wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big,” he recalls. “I wanted there to be chaos in the house…There’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it. Maybe it’s nice to be in a hotel room for a day — ‘Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper.’ But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life.”

Brad Pitt stepped out in Los Angeles wearing head-to-toe black as he headed to a meeting. The 49-year-old actor recently spoke out about his longtime partner and fiance Angelina Jolie’s preventative double mastectomy.

“Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus . . . this is a happy day for our family,” Pitt told London’s Evening Standard.

Elsewhere on the west coast, Rob Kardashian went for a hike in Culver City while his sister Kendall Jenner stopped at a gas station to fill up her Range Rover.

Angelina Jolie‘s decision to have a double mastectomy to reduce her risk of breast cancer shocked the world, even those closest to her.

No one knows her family’s struggle with the devastating disease more than the man who helped raise Jolie and lived with her mom Marcheline Bertrand for over a decade.

“She’s known for making movies and being one of the most beautiful actresses and that is her stock and trade for everything,” Bill Day told Celebuzz. “For a woman in that position to do what she did is very surprising. It’s undeniably brave.”

Day says Bertrand, who passed away at 56 from ovarian cancer in 2007, would have echoed Brad Pitt’s “heroic” sentiments.

“She would look at Angelina now as her hero. She’d be frightened for her, but at the same time, proud,” he said.

Day, who watched Jolie grow up from a precocious four-year-old to a rebellious 17-year-old as her mother’s longtime live-in partner, remembers vividly how cancer has “decimated” the family: Jolie’s great-grandmother, grandparents and uncle all passed away from the disease, while her aunt has been battling it for years.

Day, a documentary filmmaker, says when he met Bertrand she was already going to incredible lengths to ward off the disease, including radically changing her diet and even turning to her own “New Age” advisors.

“She freaked out,” he said. “She knew she had to change because her grandmother and mother all died at 45 or below. That will change you.”

And she wanted to make sure her children, Jolie and James Haven, learned to live the same healthy lifestyle.

In her emotional New York Times essay Jolie reveals that after discovering she carries a “faulty” BRCA1 gene, which sharply increases the risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer, she underwent the preventative surgery for the sake of her six young children and announced her private struggle to be an example for women to better understand their options.

For Day, why she chose such a public forum is the one thing that didn’t come as a surprise.

“She was always the mother hen-type. She was always a bright star. She was always an independent thinker,” he said. “And a lot of thinking went into this. She’s making all the right moves, she’s a sincere person and she continues to surprise us with the decisions she makes.”

It’s been a bumpy road to the big screen for Brad Pitt‘s World War Z.

After being plagued by production problems, a pushed-back release date and plenty of reshoots, the apocalyptic action flick adapted from Max Brooks’ novel is finally set for release on June 21.

But before moviegoers get to see Pitt as United Nations researcher Gerry Lane racing against time to try to save humanity — including his wife Karen Lane (Mireille Enos) and their two daughters — from the zombie takeover, Vanity Fair is pulling back the curtain on the trials and tribulations the film faced on its way to theaters.

“‘We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to,’” screenwriter Damon Lindelof says Pitt explained of World War Z. “‘The thing we really need right now,’” Pitt told Lindelof, “‘is someone who is not burdened by all the history that this thing is inheriting, who can see what we’ve got and tell us how to get to where we need to get.”

That discussion ultimately led to the decision to rewrite and reshoot an additional 40 minutes of footage in an effort to form a more fitting ending, a move that skyrocketed WWZ‘s budget to around $200 million.

“I was like,” Lindelof added, “‘To be honest with you, good luck selling that to Paramount.’”

So let’s do the math… Jolie is soooo rich, she could actually buy her first condo 688 times to equal the price of the chateau. Now that’s tres fab.

In 18 years, the Salt star is now one of the highest paid actresses on the big screen, earning $20 million in 2012 and is a full-fledged jet-setter with other homes around the world, including Los Angeles (below)…

Angelina Jolie Cheating On Brad Pitt?

New reports say that Jolie is sneaking behind Pitt’s back to see her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton. Gossip Cop clears up the rumors.

We all know Angelina Jolie’s global charitable efforts and now everyone’s favorite humanitarian, mother and silver screen goddess is making a more permanent mark on the world by opening an all-girls school in Afghanistan, according to E! News.

And the Academy Award-winning actress plans to fund the educational institution with profits made from her newly-expanded jewelry collection, Style of Jolie.

Jolie, who began her work in 2001 visiting refugees around the world and most recently in Iraq, plans to open the primary school near the capital of Kabul because of its increasing refugee population and high disparity between male and female educational advantages.

The existing school currently houses about 300 students and the actress plans to open more educational facilities elsewhere, with 100 percent of the jewelry profits going to her new foundation, The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

“Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need,” Jolie told E! News of the line designed by Robert Procop – and if his name sounds familiar he’s the man behind Jolie’s $500,000 engagement bling.

“The beauty of these creations is matched by the beauty of spirit behind Angelina’s most heartfelt mission — to empower children in crisis,” Procop said.

“For me, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of creating this line with Angie, as we both believe every child has a right to an education,” he added.

And the collection’s newest pieces are just as close to Jolie’s heart as the cause itself. The 37-year-old designed a tablet shape necklace for her husband-to-be, Brad Pitt, which inspired the collection.

“These designs are timeless; they reflect her chic sense of style and also feminine strength,” Kam Heskin, the spokesman for the Robert Procop Design Studio, told E! News. “There are so many pieces that make this collection beautiful and unique.”

The Style of Jolie will be available this week exclusively in Tivol, a Kansas City jeweler.

The Oscar-winning beauty sparked rumors that the power couple had secretly wed after she ditched her $500,000 engagement ring for a simple gold band during a recent trip to Africa.

In fact, the rumors were so hot, TMZ flat-out asked Jolie if the band was a wedding ring.

“No, it’s not,” she said in the video, above.

Well, there you have it.

The Hollywood power couple confirmed their engagement in April 2012.

“Yes, it’s confirmed. It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring,” rep Cynthia Pett-Dante said at the time.

In the new action-packed trailer for his thriller World War Z, the actor stars as United Nations researcher Gerry Lane, who races against time to try to the end the zombie apocalypse that’s taking over the globe.

“Life as we know it will come in an end in 90 days,” Navy Captain Mullenaro (David Andrews) says. “It’s on us to change that.”

Lane is forced to leave behind his family — wife Karen Lane (Mireille Enos) and their two daughters — to chase down the cause of the walking dead pandemic that threatens to kill all of humanity.

“I can’t leave my family,” Pitt’s character says. “Don’t pretend your family is exempt when we talk about the end of humanity,” Mullenaro responds.

World War Z, based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks, was originally set for release in December 2012. But following production delays, the Paramount Pictures film will now hit theaters on June 21.

Jennifer Aniston’s second visit to the altar will be a low key affair.

According to her first cousin Markos Papasifakis, the actress has been busy — just like any other bride — preparing for her upcoming nuptials to Justin Theroux.

“It’s like anything that happens before a wedding, you have to do the same stuff,” Papasifakis told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. “You’re running around and preoccupied with the event itself.”

Papasifakis, who runs a music school in Pireus, Greece, was present when Aniston tied the knot with Brad Pitt in 2000.

“You have other expectations the first time around,” he said. “You think, ‘I’m only going to get married once so I’m going to go big. So if that falls apart, the second time you tend to keep things low key.”

There’s been some buzz that Aniston, 44, will wed Theroux, 41, at the Aniston family’s longtime church in Media, Penn. But Papasifakis, whose mother and Aniston’s father Johnare sister and brother, doesn’t think the wedding will be stateside — or Greece, for that matter.

“I don’t think it will be at the church,” said Papasifakis, who still stays in touch with his extended family from Greece where he’s lived for 10 years. But admits he hasn’t been back to the U.S. since his cousin’s first wedding.

“Anything in Media would cause a wildfire and I don’t think Jen would want the whole noise of a big event and 1,000 people converging on this small church,” he said, adding that he hasn’t received any confirmation about plans for a ceremony in Greece.

As for the guest list, at least one person’s invite remains unclear to Papasifakis: Aniston’s estranged mother Nancy Dow, who suffered a second stroke in December, as exclusively reported by Celebuzz.

“You bury the hatchet when you get older, no one is getting any younger,” Papasifakis said of their relationship. “I would say they are working on it.”

Papasifakis, who’s still waiting for an invitation from Aniston and admits that if he got one he’d like to attend, added that even though the star’s marriage to Pitt didn’t last, the wedding created many special memories for the family.

“What I remember most from the wedding was the fact that it was the first time in many, many years where all the first cousins were together in one place, partying for three or four days. That was the highlight,” he said.

“We all hung out, went to my uncle’s house, we hung out in the hotel and Jen and Brad had a place in Malibu on the beach for a few days and we hung out there with Brad’s family.”

Moving forward, Papasifakis says his famous cousin will surely be expanding her family when the time is right.

“I’m sure she wants it. But these things don’t always happen by design. I’m sure she wants kids and I’m sure she’d be a fine mom.”
