We asked you, the readers, to help us out with which young Hollywood starlet has got the acting chops to reprise Carrie pre her fabulous friendships with Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. We came up with our own top five list that to take over for Sarah Jessica Parker that included: Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Ashley Greene, Brittany Snow and Emma Roberts. 

Though some of you agreed with these prospects, others thought Hilary Duff would be the right gal for the job. Some other responses included:

Can anyone really capture the essence of this character like SJP? Can you really envision another actress in that role, even if it is the younger model? The show begins during Carrie’s senior year of high school as the character begins to ask her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while in Manhattan. The show will have large shoes to fill but breathe easy because THR reports that SATC scribe/co-producer Amy B. Harris will adapt the book and act as a show runner.

The highly anticipated prequel will also be executive produced by Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie duo Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage among others. Which leads us to ask: Who should play Carrie?

It’s hard to imagine anyone portraying this role that isn’t Sarah Jessica Parker, but we at Celebuzz had a few ideas. Our top five picks include: Emma Roberts, Ashley Greene, Ashley Tisdale, Brittany Snow and Miley Cyrus.

Back in March, Brittany again showed her sexy side when she posed for the cover of Maxim Magazine. Snow told the mag that she never considered herself a sex symbol, and even with the new spread, has no intention of becoming one.

“I’ve read in magazines where someone like Jessica Alba says, ‘I’m not a sex symbol. I don’t even think I’m sexy!’ I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, girl, you’re kidding.’ I mean I hate to sound like the stereotypical actress, but if I’m gonna be honest…I really don’t think I am. But it’s nice when other people think so!”

How did the character of Marcy first develop?
Cierra: Well, I was writing a movie, but it fell through. I didn’t want to let go of Marcy because she’s so funny. We decided the funniest occupation for her to have is being a stunt woman and the rest is history.

Do you do all of her stunts?

C: Yeah, I do. I was  a gymnast for 17 years, so I have the ability to throw myself around like a rag doll and not get hurt.

So of the stunts look like they hurt. Were there any you were scared to do?

C: Not really. Probably because there weren’t any explosions or anything. I’ve just learned to tuck and roll and no one gets hurt. (laughs)

Brittany: I don’t want to give too much away, but there was one stunt she did where she rolls on this huge doughnut. She looked like a little hamster in a wheel, but she mastered it. The fact that she stayed in character though the whole scene was crazy. I don’t know how she does it.

You can Brittany have known each other since high school, and your chemistry in the first episode definitely shows.

C: Yeah. She has fantastic comedic timing, so it was easy to have fun on set. It was great.

B: It’s great to see my Cierra transform into her character. She gets so into it that I barely recognize her. It’s a testament to how great she is, morphing into this silly character she has created.

Did you ever think you’d star in a project together?

C: Probably not, especially not a project this silly.

B: Actually, I think we always thought we’d eventually work together, but probably not in this capacity.

The over-arching theme is whether or not Marcy can actually survive in the stunt industry. Do you think she’ll survive?

C:Anything is possible. She is such a funny, silly character. We can only hope that she can prove everyone wrong and show them women can survive in his male-dominated industry.

When people watch the series, what do you hope they take away from it?

C: Comedy. Each episode is totally different, but I hope people lose themselves for five minutes and just laugh at how silly these episodes are. I want people to feel for Marcy, but I just want to make people laugh.I hope they tune in because these episodes are a real hoot!

In a cover shoot and story for the April issue of the magazine, the newly-25 actress does the typical Maxim fare of bra shots and lingierie. She opens up in the accompanying interview saying “I’ve never done anything like this before, so the whole experience was a big step for me. But it was cool. I felt really comfortable and had a great time.”

Snow continues, saying that she’s never considered herself a sex symbol, and even with the new spread, has no intention of doing so.

Moviehole reports that the Hannah Montana sensation may be starring in a proposed series of Gidget movies, with Cyrus in the surfer-girl title role popularized by Sandra Dee in the 1959 film and Sally Field in the 1960s TV series.

What’s more, Zac Efron and Brittany Snow have apparently been approached for the flicks as well.

It looks like the highly anticipated spinoff show, that would feature Brittany Snow as a young Lily van der Woodsen is not going to happen. While next Monday’s episode will feature a flashback to Lily’s past and a sneak preview of what the spinoff would be, this will be the only time they will be doing so.

Nikke Finke is reporting that while the idea seemed great at first, insiders now tell her that things just didn’t work out as well as initially planned, and that spinoff plans are now dead.

The show would follow the wild and crazy Lily as she spent her teenage years in Los Angeles, hooking up with rock stars and living the life. We would have loved to have seen it!

Readers, tell us: Are you sad that there will be no Gossip Girl spinoff?

Star reports that Snow (Hairspray, Prom Night, John Tucker Must Die) will take up the role in her first TV gig since starring in NBC’s drama American Dreams.

“Brittany is thrilled,” a source says. “She loves the original show and thinks the 1980s concept sets the spin-off apart from other series on television. She can’t wait to wear all the fabulous outfits and really sink her teeth into the role.”

The show will be set in Los Angeles, and will chronicle the teenage adventures of Lily (currently played by Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle).

Snow was reportedly offered the role sans audition in February.

“Brittany always thought she was going to continue her career in films,” the source says. “But this is a marvelous part and she just couldn’t say no. This has the potential to be a huge show in the tradition of Melrose Place.”

The pilot will actually be a Gossip Girl episode that will air on May 11.
