Bryan Keith may not get the chance to walk away with the title of The Voice, but his time on the show allowed him to leave with something just as important to him: integrity. The one thing Keith is happiest about regarding his time on NBC’s The Voice is that he managed to stay true to himself and his true taste in music throughout. Even if he wishes he could have continued on in the competition, he is content knowing he went out with a performance that really speaks to who he is as an artist and the kinds of music he will deliver in the future.

“I could have went out another way. I could have been more aggressive and come out with something that was really flashy and huge, but that’s not who I am, and I’m really happy and honored that I sang Billy Joel and that it was my last hurrah, so to speak,” Keith said to Celebuzz when we spoke with him post-elimination on the red carpet of The Voice in Los Angeles, Calif.

“The Amy Winehouse, the Bryan Adams, and the Billy Joel. That’s who I am– and pieces of Sublime. These are all my influences; these are all songs that run through my veins. To be able to sing them on this show was a dream come true.”

Coming from such a focused musical background, Keith already has a plan in mind for his future post-The Voice.

“I want people to kind of recognize me as a solo artist,” he said. “I would have a backing band with me. I want a real intimate thing. I want to get close to people with a big performance and big band musicians. I’m all about that. I want people to feel the thump of the bass drum right in front of their faces. I want to be close to them; I want to be able to look into people’s eyes.”

When it comes to his first album, Keith is looking to pull influences from all of his favorite artists — past and present — including Queen and the aforementioned Joel. However, he is also looking to new friends, including some he met as fellow contestants and competitors on The Voice as inspiration. And how about a collaboration or two? Maybe even with his coach Adam Levine?

“[There] was a brief moment for him to kind of just reassure me… that I am very talented and special; I am unique, and that he wishes I could have stayed,” Keith said when we asked what the final discussion with Levine was on Tuesday night. “I do, too, but I’ll be all right, and he knows I’ll be all right.”

Walking away from The Voice, Keith felt like the biggest lesson he would be taking away from his experience on the show was one of being able to find success.

“I think to make it to the Top 10 was a really big goal for me, and I made it; I feel accomplished; I feel great about it. I can go and be recognized for who I am. Since day one people saw and connected with me, and I just want to continue to do that,” he said.

If you’ve been watching NBC’s The Voice all season long, you saw a number of different twists to set Season 3 apart. The most recent one was with the live shows: Two contestants– from any team– could be sent home, based on America’s votes. Gone were the rules about sending home one per team on any given week, so that each coach had a contender in the final round. Now, it truly is about the best vocalists overall — not just the best on his or her own team.

Or is it?

The Voice‘s Top 10 performed live in Los Angeles, Calif. this week, and the results are in. Who did you save and who did you send home?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Tuesday’s episode of The Voice.

We know you all want to know whose music dreams were cut a bit short (at least for now), so we won’t make you wait for it. Bryan Keith and Sylvia Yacoub went home. But before they did, we were treated to more stage-shaking performances by the contenders — and some of their coaches.

Celebuzz was on-hand at the live taping to catch all of the highlights. Here were our favorites.

1. Team Christina (Dez Duron, Sylvia Yacoub, and coach Christina Aguilera) opened the show with a performance of “Let There Be Love” that started with a cheeky play on the show’s blind auditions early round, in which Duron and Yacoub shared a big red chair as if contemplating whether to turn around and join diva Aguilera and her Lady Gaga wig on stage.

2. Two artists hit the Top 10 on iTunes, allowing their votes to count ten-fold. That’s literally buying votes, but it ensured Team Blake’s Cassadee Pope and Team Adam’s Melanie Martinez would be around to sing another tune next week.

3. Aguilera’s new wig. Seriously, every time the show cut to her and her dark-tipped-for-no-reason bob, we had to smile. Despite kiiind of resembling a second set of eyebrows, reinvention is the best way to stay relevant, right?

4. Blake Shelton doesn’t know what “Gangnam Style” is. OK, maybe he was just messing with host Carson Daly a little by making him repeat the name of the song Pope’s rendition of “Over You” knocked out of No. 1 on the iTunes chart. But he’s such a busy and focused guy in general, we wouldn’t surprised if he’s just seen the dance, shaken his head at it, and not given it a second thought. It is pretty shocking that it’s anything more than a party trick, right?

5. Get To Know The Voice. During a PSA type pre-taped packaged, the various contestants and coaches of The Voice gave fans a rare look into their personalities by revealing things never known about them — and each other. Our personal favorites? Cody Belew admitting he likes to watch people fall and the look on Shelton’s face when he pointed out that Adam Levine‘s simple tee-shirts often cost $600.

6. Pope proved she is a born star when taking the stage with Rascal Flatts. Dare we say it? She out-shined Gary LeVox! Ten-fold.

7. The Voice teamed with Starbucks and social media to allow fans to choose a performance. The power truly went to the people tonight! Fans who tweeted throughout the show using special hashtags had the chance to vote for a special team duet either by Team Christina and Team Blake (“Hit Me With Your Best Shot”) or Team Adam and Team CeeLo (“I Want You To Want Me”). Your voices were heard; your Tweets were read; and #VoiceBestShot closed the show.

8. Levine took the stage for the first time this season. Team Adam performed “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” And sure, there were some technical issues — missed cues and malfunctioning mics — but Amanda Brownmanaged to save it — seeming to be have the most fun nonetheless and playing around with Levine. And, that’s all that’s really needed for a memorable performance.

If there was a breakout performance when the Top 12 took the stage on Monday night’s edition of NBC’s The Voice, it was from Team Adam contender Bryan Keith.

The Bronx native took a risk by singing Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” and it paid off earning him high praise from all the coaches including his own coach, Adam Levine, who told him, “this was your day and this was your moment to show America what was happening.”

Blake Shelton even told him the performance put him in front of the pack on Levine’s team. So just how is he feeling?

“I feel on top of the world right now,” Keith told Celebuzz on the red carpet after Monday’s show. “I kept telling people before I went on that stage that this was going to show a different side of me and this was going to be a breakout moment for me and I’m so proud of myself.”

He continued: “It shows a different side. It was a tribute to Amy Winehouse. It was emotional. It’s a dark song and I’m a very dark person especially in my originals, in my own written music. This, I just had to get into the story, get into the character and I used it as if I was talking to her myself and it worked out.”

Choosing one of Winehouse’s signature tunes was 100 percent Keith’s decision, as he told us, “I chose it and I pushed to get it. I feel like I stepped up to the plate and I made it what I wanted to be.”

The 22-year-old also mentioned that he was “blown away by [the performances of]  Trevin [Hunte] and Terry [McDermott]” on Monday. He even said that Melanie Martinez’s take of Young the Giant’s “Cough Syrup “had [him] almost crying.”

While the singer hadn’t talked to his Dad, two-time Grammy winner Ray de la Paz, yet on Monday night, he did tell us how excited he is to show his Dad that he can make it on his own.

“My father is starting to see me in a completely light than he ever did before. I’m doing something that’s on a whole another level in getting recognized than he did,” said Keith. “I’m so thankful for his influence and he knows that but he knows that I’m building my own person – my own career. He’s sitting watching me after all these years of me watching him.”

Assuming the soulful singer should continue, his strategy for the rest of live rounds is to keep reaching higher.

“I set the bar pretty high for myself,” he said. “I’m just going to try to out do myself again. I’m always trying to do better than I did the last time so we’ll see what happens.”

The live eliminations of The Voice take place Tuesday at 8 PM ET/ tape delayed PT on NBC.

On Wednesday’s episode of NBC’s The Voice, the contenders on Team Christina Aguilera and Team Cee Lo Green will take the stage for their chance at making it into the Top 12 questions.

On Monday Night, Amanda Brown, from Team Adam, and Julio Cesar Castillo, from Team Blake gave rousing performances, which brought both the audience and the judges to their feet. And with only three singers from each team making it to the next round of the live playoffs (two as voted on by the viewers, one coach’s save), there are some tough decisions to be made.

With the first elimination voted on by America set for Thursday, Celebuzz is ranking the live performances so far and predicting who we think will move into the Top 12 from Team Adam Levine and Team Blake Shelton.

Here are our predictions so far:

Team Adam

We’d be extremely surprised if Amanda Brown didn’t make it to the Top 12 after Monday’s amazing performance of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” Adam Levine made the steal of the season scooping up the back up singer from Cee Lo Green in the battles. Our next guess would be Bryan Keith who sounded excellent performing Goo Goo Doll’s “Iris.” His raspy tone and coolness makes him a great fit for the next group of finalists.

The big question for Team Adam is who will be the third singer to move on?

For us, it’s really between Joselyn Rivera and Melanie Martinez. Both girls are incredible, but very different. We could see Rivera going far because of her amazing pipes and overall appeal while Martinez is so unique and different that Levine could definitely choose her if she isn’t saved by America. Unfortunately for Loren Allred, we believe she is going home.

Team Blake

Our No. 1 on Blake Shelton’s team is Terry McDermott. His voice has been perfect throughout the competition. That, coupled with the song choice of one of America’s most loved songs, Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” is sure to secure him a spot in the Top 12.

We’d also like to see Shelton’s dream come true by country singer Liz Davis continuing on. She gave a solid performance of Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” on Monday and made her coach proud.

Though Castillo received a standing ovation for his performance of the traditional Mariachi tune, “El Rey,” we don’t think it will be enough to get him into the Top 12.

So that leaves teenage radio host Michaela Paige and Cassadee Pope. While Paige is fantastic, we have to go with Pope here. The former Hey Monday lead singer seems to have a good fan base behind her given the screams from the audience after she performed Avril Lavigne’s “My Happy Ending.” Though her performance could have been better, we think her fans alone and Blake’s love for her will get her through.

Team Christina and Team Cee Lo will take the stage Wednesday.

The Voice live playoffs continue Wednesday at 8 PM with eliminations on Thursday at 8 PM on NBC.
