With her forthcoming album, Blown Away, due in stores on May 1, she is spending a lot of time with her hockey player husband Mike Fisher before she goes on tour again — because he won’t be coming with her.

“We see each other as much as we can, but he’s not one for road life. He can’t really sleep on the bus. You can’t have a giant bed in the back, so I’m like, ‘You’re touching me! Go away. What are you doing? Scoot over!’ He gets bored. I think if he ever comes out with us on tour for any length of time, I’m going to have to find him something to do!”

As the fourth season winner of American Idol, Carrie has no regrets — and loves seeing all the new contestants each season.

“American Idol isn’t even just a part of my past- it’s the catalyst that led me here. It’s always so much fun going back because so many of the people who worked on the show when I was there still work there. Plus, it’s fun to meet a new batch of contestants and see how bright and starry-eyed they all are.”

Carrie has a great set of legs, but what does her hockey-playing husband think of her assets? She reveals that she often gets flirtatious text messages while working a red carpet, saying:

“I get texts from Mike when I’m on a red carpet that read ‘You’re so hot!’ I like that. Words of affirmation mean a lot to me. But my husband is also pretty conservative. When I’m wearing some outfits, he’ll say, ‘That dress is a little short, don’t ya think?’”

She may have a smokin’ body, but she confesses that she loves food. She’s been a vegetarian for seven years, but it wasn’t until observing a friend’s results that she decided to make the switch to 95% vegan.

Likewise, to keep her body whipped into shape, she works out with a deck of cards–when she’s not with her trainer, of course.

“I have a game I love for when I’m working out on my own, without a trainer. I take a deck of cards and assign each suit a body area.”

Riding on the success of her sophomore album, No Boys Allowed, the pop and R&B crooner has been touring with Lil’ Wayne and the Far East Movement. In addition to her music career, Keri recently voiced her opinion on how hard it is for single women to find an honest man nowadays:

“It’s like real men are a dying breed. It’s hard for single women, and I just wanted to really, correctly, represent our standpoint. We all feel we need to start holding men more accountable.”

So I probably have about half an album done right now and trying to fill in the gaps and figure out what pieces of the puzzle are missing, but it’s a fun time right now figuring everything out,” she told On Air With Ryan Seacrest. Celebuzz chatted with FOX’s Pop Tarts columnist Hollie McKay to get her views on celebrity-athlete relationships and whether it’s true love — or just great business.

Many celebs and athletes are hooking up these days. Why do you think this trend is growing?
First, there is this sense of glamour and romanticism when it comes to dating an athlete. This was first coined when Marilyn Monroe dated Joe DiMaggio back in the day — and has had quite a ripple effect through Hollywood. It’s alluring because these women get to be the glamorous celebrity and trophy wife, sitting in the crowd, as the cameras roll on. And it’s the one time they can let their hair down and be a giddy fan.

Other than looks, what do you think attracts athletes to these Hollywood gals?
When they date a celebrity, it fills a void in their ego. They get to be covered by the main stream media more, get followed around by paparazzi and get extra attention that makes them even more narcissistic.

Any Hollywood star who dates an athlete needs to know what they’re playing with fire. Not all these guys cheat, but they’re in powerful positions and earn a lot of money — usually when they’re young and immature, and don’t know what to do with it … A lot of girls get into these relationships thinking they can change the guys and make them faithful. As we’ve seen, that isn’t always the case.

Do you think these relationships are all about true love or great marketing?
Look at Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom — they’ve built an empire together with the show, perfume — the list goes on. But those two appear to have a pretty solid marriage and relationship. Carrie Underwood was spotted playing cheerleader for her hockey player husband Mike Fisher at the Nashville Predators game on Monday night but the American Idol winner’s enthusiasm did little to help her husband’s team – the Predators lost against the Vancouver Canuks 1-2. The loss of this match eliminated the Predators from the NHL Playoffs.

Wearing her husband’s jersey, Carrie cheered for the Predators with a group of female friends in the stands. As the game wore on, Carrie and her friends lost their cheerful moods and the singer looked a little distressed near the end of the game.

The blonde beauty sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (the episode will air Thursday) to discuss all of the recent big and great things in her life, from music to marriage. Quickly though, the conversation took a turn into Underwood pointing out a habit of her husband Mike Fisher that she’s had trouble adjusting to: He’s a borderline hoarder.

Underwood told Ellen that after Fisher — a pro hockey player — was traded to Nashville, he moved in with Underwood, and that’s when things went downhill:

“He came and he brought all of his crap with him. Our house became…he’s not a hoarder but he’s close, maybe …  He’s like babe, I need more space in the closet and my heart just sinks … He’ll keep like shirts and stuff and I’ll go through it. You online shop, you go shopping. He loves to shop.  He’s going to kill me.  He has stuff come in and I’m like it’s not going out fast enough.  If you bring stuff in and stuff needs to go out.  Do we need this shirt? It has a giant stain on the sleeve. Are we going to wear this again? No, then do something with it.  It’s still hanging up there.”

Perhaps putting the pet peeve on national television will make Mr. Fisher change his ways?

The frock – which was overloaded with black lace and ruffles – looks unflattering on Carrie’s petite frame with the addition of a large ruffled flower pinned to Carrie’s side.

While the two have been doing the long distance thing since they were married last July, the country singer’s hockey playing husband has been traded from the Ottawa Sentors to the Nashville Predators. In a statement, Carrie said:

We will both truly miss Ottawa. Mike has been such a big part of the community, and I will never forget how they welcomed me with open arms. We obviously love Nashville, and the teams’ decision for him to now play with the Predators is an exciting opportunity for Mike. I support him wherever he plays!

Underwood spoke to People Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards, where she was nominated for Best Song,  about married life and what she does while her husband is on the road.

With Fisher is constantly traveling, Underwood dabs into her domestic responsibilities and turns into the ultimate housewife:

I cleaned, and we are moving into a new house, and so I was unpacking all of his stuff…And laundry and dishes.

Although this isn’t her ideal image of a newlywed couple, she loves being married and knows he is always backing her up, regardless of how many miles apart they are:

I know [he] is 1,000 percent cheering me on, it’s really nice to have that kind of support.

“So Small” songbird Carrie Underwood won big-time at the ACAs, which were determined solely by fan voting, picking up awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Single of the Year, Touring Headline Package of the Year and Female Music Video of the Year.
Relative newcomers Lady Antebellum, meanwhile,  scored Group of the Year, Group Video of the Year and Group Single of the Year honors. The group’s vocalist, Hillary Scott, joked after the ceremony,

“Don’t be surprised if we don’t show up next year, because we want to go out on top.”

Other winners included Blake Shelton (for his “Hillbilly Bone” video), Alan Jackson (Greatest Hits Award) and Rascal Flatts (Decade Award).
