“They said it was borderline whether he needed surgery or not,” a source close to the magazine tells the family, “but they’ve taken some scans and see no further damage.”

Aldridge, 19, crashed his Ford F-250 while reportedly driving home from a bachelor party for his cousin. Aldridge’s car, which was also carrying four male passengers, went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over. Casey and two of the passengers were thrown from the truck during the crash.

According to early reports, Aldridge had suffered a cracked skull and was going in and out of consciousness.

A source notes that Spears accompanied Aldridge in the ambulance while he was transported from  a small hospital in Vidalia, Louisiana, to a medical center in Jackson, Mississippi, and has since been spending time at his side.

“Jamie Lynn has been at the hospital, and all indications are that she is holding up well,” says a source.

Law enforcement officials, meanwhile, are expressing surprise that Aldridge and his passengers—only one of whom was wearing a seatbelt, according to a source—didn’t sustain worse injuries.

“It’s an anomaly that no one was injured more seriously,” says Louisiana State Police spokesman Mark Dennis. “Usually in that kind of accident, you see serious injuries or fatalities.”

People is reporting that Casey, 19, was driving his Ford F-250 early Sunday morning with three male friends when the vehicle crashed. A source says that he had been at a bachelor party for his cousins prior to the accident and that the car went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over. 

A family member says that the on-again, off-again boyfriend of Jamie Lynn has a ”a cracked skull” and has been ” in and out” of consciousness, but luckily his condition is “not as serious as we thought at first.”

Casey’s friends survived as well, with one friend suffering from a broken collarbone, and the others reporting pain and bruising. 

Radar is reporting that Casey has a hematoma and may have a blood clot in his brain. 

He is also being charged with a misdemeanor for the wreck, for careless operation of a vehicle.

Jamie Lynn is reportedly at his bedside at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

MSNBC reports that Jamie Lynn has selected a Monique Lhuillier gown, ordered invitations and chosen a three-tiered chocolate cake for her big day.

Spears, 17, and Aldridge, 19, have been in the spotlight for over a year now, since the world learned the two teens were expecting a child together in December 2007.

The youngest of the Spears siblings gave birth to Maddie Briann Aldridge on June 19, 2008.

Perhaps Jamie Lynn was moved to finally tie the knot with Casey after her brother, Bryan Spears, 31, married Graciella Sanchez, on New Year’s Eve.

The entire Spears family was in attendance for Bryan’s nuptials, but Jamie Lynn has a particular connection with new sister-in-law Sanchez; Graciella, 36, is the former Zoey 101 star’s manager.

And if the wedding reports are true, sometime soon, Britney—who has been married twice now—will be the only one of the Spears clan to remain single.

The last word had it she is pregnant and second-time-father-to-be Casey Aldridge was furious about allegedly learning he was going to be a dad again via the tabloids and not from his girlfriend.

But outside their shack of dysfunctional strife, the two teens are maintaining a “business as usual” face for the public. There don’t seem to be any lightning-quick rides to remedy the situation yet.

Spears and Aldridge were recently snapped doing some mundane shopping at the Wal-Mart in McComb, Mississippi.

Perhaps it’s time to stock up on food for those pregnancy cravings, and maybe even get started on twice the amount of formula and diapers?

In Touch Weekly reports that Jamie Lynn’s 19-year-old baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, carried on an affair with 28-year-old Kelli Dawson throughout Spears’ pregnancy with daughter Maddie Briann.

In an interview with the magazine, Dawson—who says that the couple met in November 2006—claims that “we were both attracted to each other” at first sight and that Casey “totally instigated it and pursued me.”

Dawson adds that she and Casey were still sleeping together as recently as March 2008, but broke off the relationship before the June birth of his daughter.

“It just didn’t feel right,” Dawson recalls. “He had to deal with the baby coming, and it had to stop.” But “even after we stopped having sex, we would still kiss occasionally.”

Even now, the two maintain friendly ties, according to Dawson. “I see him all the time, at least once a week.”

Well, isn’t that just a slap in the face? Jamie Lynn goes to all that trouble to snap back into shape after giving birth. Casey can’t even stop communicating with the Other Woman. Guess that whole thing about Southern men being chivalrous really is just a myth.

Oh well; with her newly fit physique, Jamie Lynn won’t have any trouble finding another meat stick next time she’s itching for a ride.

But now OK! Magazine is reporting that the former Zoey 101 star will be walking the straight and narrow aisle with baby daddy Casey Aldridge. Probably in the fall.

The ceremony will be a relatively modest event on the grounds of Jamie Lynn’s three-acre Liberty, Mississippi, estate. Britney will serve as maid of honor. Aldridge’s sister, Ashlee, is picked as one of the bridesmaids.

“[Jamie Lynn] loves everything about the area where she lives. She’s not going to get married at some luxury resort in the Caribbean or a hotel in Beverly Hills,” a pal tells the magazine. “Her own backyard with just the people who matter most is more Jamie Lynn’s style.”

Naturally, new arrival Maddie, born in June, will play a part in the ceremony.

The magazine speculates that the tot may show up “in a basket decorated with flowers and carried into the ceremony by the bride and groom’s mothers. ” Either that or she’ll toddle up the aisle in front of Mom, sprinkling the ground with pork rinds flower petals.

Congratulations, kids!

“They’re doing terrific,” a source says. “The baby’s got 10 fingers and 10 toes … and a full head of hair. She’s long, a tall baby, and she weighs 7 lbs, 11 oz.”

Jamie’s fiance, 18-year-old Casey Aldridge, reportedly shares some traits with his new daughter.

His mother Joyce has said that Maddie “has Casey’s toes.” Those must be some standout piggies.

Maddie Briann’s aunt Britney Spears has already returned to Los Angeles, despite reports that she would spend a month in Kentwood to help Jamie settle in. Because it’s extremely difficult to be the center of attention when there’s a newborn baby stealing the spotlight.

“It’s easy to have them, but hard to raise them,” says relative Charlie Spears. “I hope she’s healthy, and I hope they raise a good baby.”

“She’s awfully young to be a momma,” says Spears “distant cousin” Margie Busby. “But that’s what they make [grandmothers] for. They have to help.”

The Kentwood consensus is that Jamie Lynn will do just fine raising her and 19-year-old fiance Casey Aldridge‘s baby.

“There will probably be some rough times and some bumpy times,” says Jennifer Pike, a Kentwood resident. “I’m really happy for her and her family.”

But some of Jamie’s relatives didn’t even seem to be aware she had given forth a child.

“I didn’t even know she had the baby,” says second cousin Janet Bridges.

Maybe the Spears family should take up a collection to thank People for sending out the birth announcements.

“Just the family was there,” a source tells the mag. “Everyone is healthy and happy.”

Now, with all their nesting done and that GED in Jamie Lynn’s back pocket, they can focus solely on playing house. Enjoy, kids.

Jamie Lynn Spears is officially a teenage mom, the National Enquirer reports. The 17-year-old Disney Channel star delivered a healthy baby girl at 8:30 a.m. today, after doctors at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center had scheduled a Cesarean section because of an impending breech birth.

The baby weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces. No name has been released, but rumors swirled yesterday that the moniker would be Cailynn, Cassie or some combination of mom’s and ATV-lovin’ ex-fiancé dad Casey Aldridge‘s names. Boy, they do know how to milk it down there—Jamie, Lynne, Jamie Lynn, anyone?!)

Despite earlier reports that she and baby daddy Casey Aldridge were hip-deep in the nesting process, Star magazine reveals that Jamie Lynn has deep-sixed the wedding.

“Jamie Lynn and Casey have been fighting nonstop about everything, from what to name the baby to what to eat for dinner,” says the magazine’s source. “And now she’s called off their wedding plans.”

How could this happen? The lovebirds seemed to have everything going for them. If a pregnant 17-year-old and her 19-year-old beau can’t make a marriage work, does anyone stand a chance?

Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn’s bundle of joy should be dropping down the chute any day now, and the mama-to-be has moved back to the Spears family’s curiously named Louisiana estate, Serenity.

She and mom Lynn are “busy decorating the family nursery,” according to a second insider.

No doubt Jamie Lynn has her hands full with that—it can’t be easy finding wallpaper decorated with tractor pulls and deep-fried Twinkies.
 
Lynne is pretty busy, too; in addition to setting up house for her impending grandkid, her book project, which was shelved after news of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy broke, is back on, with a slated September release date, according to People.

Rather than a parenting-advice book, as was previously anticipated, the tome will be a memoir that will “express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother’s eyes.”

Awesome, it should make a fine companion piece to Mommie Dearest.

The It couple have graced Liberty, Mississippi, with their permanent presence, recently purchasing a five-acre property complete with barn and studio…and it’s not a double wide.

They’re loading it up with furniture at a breakneck pace, notes People magazine. Furnishings include an ornate four-poster bed, a leather recliner and sofa and baby goodies galore. Hopefully, the young man has realized his about-to-pop baby mama needs help loading up the pickup.

No word on what Casey’s toting in the photo above; if they have any sense, it’s a set of his-and-hers chastity belts.

As they delve deeper into the nesting process, Jasey (you heard it here first, folks) have already impressed their new neighbors. Notes one local, who has offered help should they ever need a break from their tyke, “They’re just a sweet little old couple.”

Sure, they’re a modern-day version of American Gothic—or the final sign of the coming Apocalypse.

UPDATE: Hope the new spread has one hell of a fence around it. Seems one of the pack of paparazzi who pulled the short straw and got the Mississippi beat has more of a bite than his cronies. Edwin Merrino was arrested Tuesday for harassing Jamie Lynn and Casey. He posted the southern-fried sum of $1,096 for bail and was released.

Merrino disputes the arrest and says he was at least 200 feet away, taking shots with a telephoto lens…except for that one time. “I just think since I was the only one there,” he told the McComb Enterprise-Journal, “it was just easier to single me out. The one picture I got was kind of by luck…I saw them at Wal-Mart when I was buying deodorant.”

Good thing, ’cause we bet he’s sweating now.

Clearly, these two are determined to make a jokey CELEBUZZ prophecy a reality, and their efforts couldn’t be more appreciated.

Doing her darnedest to maintain a low profile by escaping back to Kentwood, Louisiana, the very pregnant teenage sister of Britney Spears thought she’d elude photographers by hiding out in her hometown.

Despite her stealthy retreat, the gestation has been dutifully monitored in every stage from its inception at the end of last year. At this rate, shots of J.Lynn actually giving birth don’t seem farfetched.

As for any talk of a wedding, In Touch is reporting that Jamie Lynn was overheard saying, “I don’t want to get married with a big bump under my dress.”

This sighting reportedly took place during one of her many Wal-Mart trips—quite possibly the one where she had an industrial-strength girdle on her shopping list.

However, there are other possible explanations for Casey’s seeming apathy, and perhaps they’re related to the rumors that he might not actually be related to Jamie Lynn’s unborn child. Star magazine suggested last December that the father of the teenage Zoey 101 star’s bundle of joy was actually a Nickelodeon executive.

Either way, they need to start paying Casey more money or have Jamie Lynn wear some beef jerky around her neck, because otherwise, this woman is going to give birth by herself in a grocery cart in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Or maybe it is.

Increasingly pregnant, 17-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears offers a bucolic glimpse of life in rural America as she lounges on an ATV in flip-flops and chows down on what appears to be a popsicle or some sort of meat on a stick.

It couldn’t be more perfect, could it? Well, perhaps if the ATV had a pair of booties hanging from the handlebars, but let’s not quibble.

Of course, it’s probably not fair to harp on a hometown favorite who’s lost her chance to be prom queen. She has a right to relax, what with planning her quickie wedding to fiancé Casey Aldridge (reception at Applebee’s?) and hosting not one, but two, baby showers. (Hope someone got them a crib with a rack for that shotgun.)

And if Jamie Lynn keeps working on those popsicles or meat sticks or whatever they are, she just might pick up some vital skills that could prevent her from becoming teenage and pregnant again.
