In what might be the most highly anticipated film of the summer, Empire magazine is upping the excitement with their recent photos of Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale in their Dark Knight Rises ab-fab costumes!

Dressed as the super sexy character Catwoman, Anne gives a sultry stare on the cover of the publication, while only Christian’s lips can be seen in his Batman getup.

Who’s fiercer?

That will have to be determined when the film hits theaters July 20, 2012. The comic book movie is set eight years after Dark Knight — which came out in 2008 and featured the late Heath Ledger as the Joker — and begins after Batman took the fall for Two Face’s crimes and now a new terrorist leader, Bane, overwhelms Gotham. In the newest trailer, Batman is shown beaten up and held captive by Bane (Tom Hardy).

Christian Bale reprises his role as Batman (aka Bruce Wayne) while some new faces and characters appear in the film including Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Tom Hardy as the villain Bane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.

The film is set eight years after Dark Knight (which came out in 2008 and featured the late Heath Ledger as the Joker), and in the newest trailer, shows Batman beat up and held captive by Bane.

In light of this turn of events, Celebuzz has compiled some of our favorite celebrity rants!  

One of the most famous and highly scrutinized ranters is Mel Gibson.  Not only was he recorded making racist comments after an arrest in 2006,  Gibson was also recorded making a series of hateful voicemail messages to his then partner Oksana Grigorieva.

Another famously recorded and leaked voicemail was the one Alec Baldwin left to his daughter Ireland in 2007. Among other things, Baldwin called the 12 year old a “rude, thoughtless pig”.  

Other famous celebs who have been recorded showing themselves in a less than positive light are Charlie Sheen, Bill Maher, and Christian Bale.

Deadline reports that Universal Pictures and Focus Features have already won the rights to the book and plan to bring the steamy series to its legions of female fans, either via a television series of feature film.

Regardless, armchair critics are already casting the key players, including the lead character: 21-year-old college student, Anastasia Steele, who starts a relationship with wealthy entrepreneur, Christian Grey, who leads her into an S&M deal.

The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan revealed some surprising information – the film actually takes place eight whole years after The Dark Knight!

“It’s really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne’s story. We left him in a very precarious place. Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he’s an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state.”

Tom talked to Empire about how Batman may finally meet his match in the vicious villain Bane.

“He’s brutal. Brutal. He’s a big dude who’s incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It’s not about fighting. It’s about carnage. The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it’s nasty. Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action.”

Nolan confirmed with Empire that the film’s prologue (“the first six, seven minutes”) will be in select IMAX cinemas on December 21. It will serve as “an introduction to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film.”

The hunky actors duked it out in the middle of the street, all before hundreds of extras and a giant fake snow machine.

Luckily, the intensity of the scene didn’t seem to bother Bale or Hardy much, as they were seen chatting and laughing in-between takes.

According to Gothamist, “Two stars will appear in full costume for a scene which will involve more than 1000 extras.”

The movie has been shot all over the country, including Pittsburgh where we caught the first glimpse of Anne Hathaway dressed as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman.) In the pics, she’s wearing a black leather suit and high-tech goggles while riding the Batpod!

Bale looks like good old Batman, but seeing Hathway was her cute-as-a-button … well, a deadly button … Catwoman is a treat for all of the fans anxiously awaiting the newest installment.

Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to be released in July 2012, and given the whopping success and acclaim from The Dark Knight in 2008, Rises is already being tapped as a contender for the biggest movie of the year.

First up is Chris Evans, which is only appropriate, as this stud goes shirtless several times in his new flick Captain America (out on Friday). God bless the U.S.A.! Speaking of America, this next hottie makes sure all the laws of the constitution are in order.

Chris Meloni head honcho of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit may have exited the show, but he’ll always have a place in our hearts! Chris Pine has been in a few action flicks, and nothing gets our heart racing more then seeing him jump from trains, or star in intergalactic legacies.

While all these men are quite the fantasy, action star Christian Bale brings Batman alive with his amazing performances in each movie. These Chris’s have been the forefront of so many sci-fi and marvel films. Chris Hemsworth, or should we call him, Thor, tops off this list of hotties by being another sexy shirtless star who graces the big screen with his big — biceps.

The Dark Knight Rises won’t be realeased until summer 2012, but sneak peeks are already starting to come out!

Earlier this week, we got a look at the teaser poster, and now a teaser trailer has been released for the highly-anticipated “epic conclusion” to Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy.

The new and seemingly official video gives a little taste at what we can expect — and also gives a first glimpse of Anne Hathaway in Catwoman form.

It shows the backlash of the damage the Joker has done to Batman/Bruce Wayne and we even get to see a little bit of the new villain, Bane (Tom Hardy).

A new trailer for Wahlberg and Bale’s upcoming movie The Fighter (in theaters on December 10) hit the Internet today, and two things are clear: a) there’ll be plenty of fists thrown outside the ring in this flick, and b) Bale excels at slimming down for a role.

The movie chronicles the real-life tale of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward, who rose to fame in the ring in the mid-’80s before retiring and making a remarkable comeback years later. Wahlberg plays the titular pugilist, while Bale, looking alarmingly gaunt, plays his half-brother/trainer Dickie Ecklund, whose own life was plagued by drug troubles.

In audio obtained by TMZ, Patti blasts Lauren for showing her less-than-flattering outfit options for upcoming TV appearances, including one with Elle magazine creative director, Joe Zee.

This married A list television star on a very hit network show always has portrayed himself as the ideal family man. He always mentions his wife in interviews, and when they make one of their infrequent appearances together he always appears to be the loving husband. The reality is that he has slept with about 10 people from his show ranging from crew to extras to cast. Considering the other guys on this network you wouldn’t think he would be king of the cheats, but he is. (Crazy Days and Nights)

Could it be Patrick Dempsey? Another name that comes to mind is Steve Carrell but we might cry if he is revealed to be cheating on his wife.

Casting a Boyfriend:

She’s a good actress but she really wants more publicity. Since actors in relationships with other stars tend to be higher profile, she and her public relations flack are looking to hook her up with a new man. Since it’s not a real love connection, it doesn’t matter if he’s gay or straight. It does matter, however, that he’s single and willing to act the part of a straight, loving, faithful, supportive boyfriend. Candidates should be 25-45 years old, attractive, non-smokers, excel at their own profession, comfortable with paparazzi, and be willing to contractually commit for one year. (Blind Gossip)

There aren’t a lot of clues in this one, but we think it might be one of the Hills girls since we know they are getting desperate for publicity now that their show is going off the air. Maybe it is Kristin Cavallari? She has no problem dating men for the cameras on her show, so it doesn’t seem like a stretch.

Bromance Gone Literal:

This one is pretty tough as well. Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg both have a movie coming out later this year (The Fighter) but we haven’t heard any substantial rumors that they are closeted.

Warner Bros. has announced that the third installment of the revamped Batman franchise will be released on July 20, 2012. Aside from the fact that Christian Bale will be reprising the role of Batman and Christopher Nolan will be directing, other details—you know, little things like title and plot—are still unknown.

Nolan is said to be currently hashing out a storyline for the movie, which will be the first Batman movie since 2008′s The Dark Knight.
