Will Ferrell, aka Ron Burgundy, confirmed the sequel on CONAN Thursday night, and it was later reported that fellow cast members Paul Rudd and Steve Carell will also be returning as well as the film’s director Adam McKay and producer Judd Apatow. But what about Christina Applegate reprising her role of Veronica Corningstone?

“I know nothing. But am excited about the prospect,” a rep for Christina told Celebuzz in an exclusive statement. “Would love for it to happen, she’d love to be part of it.”

We sure hope to see Veronica and Ron back in action on the big screen! Is anyone else is a glass case of emotion over this sequel news?!

On Thursday night, Ron Burgundy himself, Ferrell, slipped back into his maroon suit and mustache for a special appearance on Thursday night’s CONAN. Showing off his solo flute skills, San Diego’s favorite newsman made the  big announcement that there will be a sequel to the beloved comedy.

If you needed proof as to if this was true or not, we have not one, not two, but THREE examples that come in the form of Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson and Jessica Biel. Not only are the ladies drop dead gorgeous, but they all seem to be having the best year ever! 

Jessica Alba is still all smiles after welcoming her second daughter Haven this past August. The Fantastic Four actress has already got herself back in shape and looks as stunning as ever! So much so, actress Christina Applegate took to her twitter to jokingly vent, saying:

When Celebuzz caught up with G’s colleague Joel McHale at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event earlier this week he said that Rancic has been in his thoughts.

“I did, I reached out to her,” Joel told us. “I haven’t spoken to her yet, but she is incredibly strong. We are praying, and hoping it is cured quickly. It’s so horrible, but from what I have heard it was caught early.”

Fellow breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate also told E! Online that she is here for Giuliana:

“I know that journey so well, how that feels [to get] that phone call. I get what’s she’s going through.”

The Up All Night star was declared 100% clear of breast cancer in August 2008.

Rancic is due to have a lumpectomy this week, followed by radiation therapy. Celebuzz is praying for you too, G!

Christina’s new show also stars Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph, and is about a (formerly) hip married couple (Arnettt and Applegate) who are adjusting to life with a newborn baby. Maya plays Christina’s eccentric boss who hosts her own talk show.

Have you been tuning in on Wednesdays to watch this show? We have, and while we love the cast, we think there is still some room for improvement. It’s only had three episodes, we we’re willing to give it a chance!

Could you tell us a little bit about Up All Night and what your role is on the show?

Up All Night is an comedy with Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph and my character works in an office with them and intimidates the older girls by being the “hot” one in the office. The show is amazing, I’ve seen the pilot already and it’s really fun. 

How does this role differ from your other acting jobs?

I’ve been on a bunch of other shows – I just shot Entourage, I’ll be on the upcoming season playing one of Vince’s ex-girlfriends and a couple of other things, but this is my first recurring role. I auditioned for this role because of the amazing cast, like I mentioned, Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph. But it was also the writers, Emily Spivey is known in the comedic world for Saturday Night Live, and Lorne Michaels who is one of the biggest guys in comedy, is on board as an executive producer, so obviously it’s this amazing cast and crew for comedy, I think it is going to be one of the funniest shows out there!

So Christina, Will and Maya have all had success on TV in the past, what is it like working with them and have they helped you get used to your first recurring role?

It is absolutely amazing. It was intimidating at first, but the table read was so much fun. With Christina and Maya, we’ll just be getting our hair done and they are so sweet and nice, it is like hanging out with friends. Will is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. It’s just like going to work with friends and laughing all day, whether we are shooting or not, it’s great. Christina Applegate is one of the best [actresses] in comedy, and I just saw Maya in Bridesmaids and I always loved her on Saturday Night Live.

What are some of your favorite TV shows?

I love all of the girly shows like Gossip Girl, but that’s a hard question, I have too many! I love some reality shows, and I loved Samantha Who? when it was on, that was Christina’s show. My other favorites are True Blood and Shameless.

So what have you taken from your modeling career that you can apply to acting?

You always have to think on your toes. In acting they can re-write what you say and what you do, but you still have to be fast-paced about it. Modeling gets you ready for that, you’re always changing into a new scene or a new character, so I think that’s what I’ve taken most from it.

What do you like most about acting?

I love the interaction with the other actors and the crew. The director, James Griffin, makes it so much fun on set, it’s so lively. And we love to play off of each other, we’re always giggling between takes and talking about our lives. I love making friends and developing relationships with these people and that helps us work off of each other.

Is it nerve-wracking to film a new show like this and to wait so long to see how audiences respond to it?

No, because I’ve seen the pilot and it’s so funny. The characters are so lovable, and the writing is hysterical. I can’t see why people wouldn’t love it, I have no doubt in my mind. The response on Facebook and Twitter has been so positive. It’s a fun, upbeat show.

You do a lot of charity work, would you like to tell us about that?

I was diagnosed with a lymphatic disease called lipedima in late 2010 and I started a charity called Cure Lipedima. When I was diagnosed, it answered a lot of health questions for me. I couldn’t have jumped on board quicker to help young women worldwide. I’m active in the community, I speak at conferences, I’ve become a spokesperson for lipedima. It effects all women differently but it is basically a disorder where you are really tiny on top but you are bigger on the bottom, so I’m a size 0 on top, and I’m a 6 on the bottom. You can exercise and stop eating and it doesn’t effect your weight, so I’m being proactive and just trying to get the word out there. The website is www.curelipedema.org

Who do you idolize or want to model your career after?

I’d say Christina Applegate to start which is corny, but she has a family and I think that is so important. I’ve always been close with my parents and my 14-year-old brother, and Christina has a family and a husband and she can’t wait to get off set sometimes just to hug her babies. I can see myself being a working mom in the future, so I respect her so much.

Is there anyone in the business that you would like to work with?

Will Ferrell, definitely! I love him, I think he is a master of comedy.

Do you think your future will include more acting or modeling after Up All Night?

Definitely more acting. I love modeling and I’ll always do that. I love print campaigns and the fashion world, but I think there is more longevity in acting and I find it so much more fun because of the interaction and the relationships you make with other people that last forever. In modeling it’s a one or two day shoot and its over with. It’s great to go to work and see your friends and that’s what I have with this cast.

NBC rolled out their new fall line-up last week and they officially presented their new stars and shows to the press at their 2011 Fall Upfront Presentation in New York City on Monday, May 16. The Playboy Club

Starring: Eddie Cibrian, Amber Heard, Laura Benanti and David Krumholtz.

Synopsis: This new, Mad Men-ish show follows the lives of regulars at the legendary Chicago Playboy Club in the 1960s. The show mainly centers around Nick Dalton (Cibrian) a wealthy playboy who comes to the aid of a wide-eyed Playboy Bunny (Heard) after she accidentally kills a man.

Will it be good: If the show can capture what made Mad Men a hit then it will certainly become a fan favorite. Plus, the mixture of Playboy Bunnies, slick ’60s styling and sexy stars is sure to get people watching.

When it airs: Monday nights at 10/9 c.

Up All Night

Starring: Will Arnett, Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph.

Synopsis: Can becoming a parent make you actually grow up? That’s what this new comedy attempts to solve as it follows a hard-partying PR mom (Applegate) and her stay-at-home husband (Arnett) as they try to adjust their lifestyle around their new child.

Will it be good: We hope so! With an all-star comedy cast, this show is sure to be funny. However, some critics have complained that the parenting schtick might get old real fast.

When it airs: Wednesdays at 8/7 c.

Smash

Starring: Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, and Megan Hilty.

Synopsis: This new musical drama – yes, that’s right, drama – centers around the creation of a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.

Will it be good: Glee made musicals cool again and Smash will definitely appeal to those who want to see the not-so-peppy side of musicals.

When it airs: Monday at 10/9 c. (Midseason)

Whitney

Starring: Whitney Cummings, Chris D’Elia, Zoe Lister-Jones and Maulik Pancholy.

Synopsis: This new multi-camera sitcom follows a young couple (Cummings and Pancholy) who don’t want to ruin their “perfect” relationship by getting married.

Will it be good: Everyone (including Celebuzz) loves Whitney so hopefully she can turn that buzz into a hit show. However, lots of critics are befuddled by the show’s use of a laugh track which seems a little retro compared to NBC’s other strong, laugh-track-less comedies.

When it airs: Thursday at 9:30/8:30 c.

Christina, 39, tells the magazine that she was self-conscious of her chest after undergoing a double mastectomy. However, when the nurses first handed Christina her newborn, the Married with Children star says that she let all of hang-ups about her breasts go.

“It was such a liberating and beautiful moment,” Christina tells the magazine.  “I didn’t care.  It didn’t matter anymore.  Not only was she the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me – but she saved me too.  I got to abandon resentments that I’ve held on to in that vicinity for years because [my chest] is where she feels the most comfortable and where she’s the happiest.”

Christina gave birth to 7 lbs, 8 oz. Sadie on January 27. Sadie is the actress’ first child with fiance Martyn LeNoble. Christina announced that she had breast cancer in 2008.

Applegate confirmed the news to People, with her spokesperson releasing the statement saying:

“Actress Christina Applegate and fiancé, musician Martyn LeNoble, welcomed daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, in Los Angeles … Mother and daughter are doing great.”

The 39-year-old actress announced her pregnancy in July. She and her fiance, 41-year-old LeNobele, got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2010 after dating for several years.

Christina Applegate is known for her humor and talent on the big screen. But in 2008, Applegate announced she had breast cancer and ever since has been an advocate for breast cancer awareness. 

The pregnant actress has teamed up with jewelry designer Alex Woo to create a necklace to raise money for Applegate’s foundation, Right Action for Women. People Magazine reports,

“I am so grateful to Alex for creating such a beautiful piece to benefit Right Action for Women. Proceeds from the necklace will help women at high risk for breast cancer get the screenings and testing the need to beat the disease.This piece reminds me so much of the roses i made out of ribbons for my friends and family while in the hospital.” 

The meaning of the tree and branches represents balance, peace, harmony, and the curves of a woman. The seven leaves represent each day of the week.

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross (whose husband suffered from cancer) and former American Idol singer David Archuleta also turned up for the star-studded charity event. Officials said they would announce the fundraising total this week. The 2008 Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon raised more than $100 million.

The 38-year-old stage and screen actress is engaged to 41-year-old musician Martyn Lenoble. Previously she was married to That Thing You Do! star Johnathon Schaech.

Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. After undergoing treatment, which included a double mastectomy, Applegate was declared cancer-free. Her mother is also a breast cancer survivor.

The couple, who got engaged this past Valentine’s Day, have not yet set a wedding date.

According to Variety, ABC has just announced that they are canceling her hit show Samantha Who?

A source close to the show says the final decision came down to numbers, and the budget was too large to make a third season pick up. While the show was doing well on Monday nights, it’s recent move to Thursdays has significantly lowered numbers.

The Christopher Nolan-directed film, which featured Heath Ledger in his last performance as the deranged Joker, made off with five awards in all of its nominated categories, including Favorite Movie and Onscreen Matchup.

Batman himself, Christian Bale, dedicated the Favorite Movie award to the late Ledger.

“Thank you very, very much,” he said. “And on behalf of all of the cast from the movie, thank you very much to the fans. Here’s to Heath, thank you.”

Country crossover sensation Carrie Underwood won the most awards by a single person this year. The triple-dressed (orange, green and a floral Naeem Khan) Underwood won three crystal statues for Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Star 35 & Under and Best Country Song for “Last Name.”

In the TV category, Fox’s snarky medical thriller House won Best TV Drama. British actor Hugh Laurie also scored for the Favorite Male TV Star, and Christina Applegate of Samantha Who? won Best Female. Applegate alluded to her recent battle with breast cancer and the support of fans in her acceptance speech.

“It didn’t go unnoticed, thank you,” she said.

Favorite Talk Show Host went to Ellen DeGeneres who gave a sarcastic thank-you to her “roommate, Portia,” referencing the recent passage of Proposition 8 which threatened the validity of her marriage to actress wife Portia DeRossi in California.

Brad Pitt won Favorite Leading Man, and his companion Angelina Jolie won Favorite Female Action Star. Unfortunately, neither was on hand to accept an award.

E! reports that the People’s Choice Awards have almost 40 different categories, so the awards show last night was only able to show a portion of the complete list of winners.

The Samantha Who star, who turned 37 on November 25, had a double mastectomy in July after she was diagnosed with cancer.

But she refuses to become depressed about her health situation. She’s remained upbeat and has used her experience and brush with the disease to heighten cancer awareness.

She told TV Guide magazine, “I still have quite a process until this is done. Yes, it’s hard. It sucks. But I’m not a victim.”

After being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and undergoing treatment that included a double mastectomy, the Samantha Who? actress was on the set of her hit series in Los Angeles Tuesday.

Applegate tells the November 10 TV Guide—which features her on the cover—that she’s determined not to be defined by her battle with breast cancer. “I’m not a victim,” Applegate asserts.

Applegate asserts that dealing with the illness has given her a profound appreciation for the here and now.

“I started looking for a beach house the day I found out I had this little disease. You just kind of go, ‘What are you waiting for to get the things that you want and the things that you dream of?’” Christina recalls. “I don’t own tomorrow or yesterday—today is all I’ve got.”

Now that’s a philosophy worth embracing.
