Another year, another Kentucky Derby filled with enough hats fit for a royal wedding.

On Saturday, the stars came out in their formal best for the 139th race at Churchill Downs.

Lauren Conrad went with a nude look from head-to-toe. The fashionista let her headpiece do most of the talking, wearing minimal jewelry for the outing.

Meanwhile, model Coco Rocha went with a pale pink blazer and matching skirt by Zac Posen. Her orchid-adorned headpiece was designed by milliner to the royals (and stars) Philip Treacy, according to Rocha’s Twitter.

The men also got fancy for the race: Joey Fatone donned a checkered pink-and-white suit and bowtie, Arrow star Stephen Amell elevated his navy blue suit with a striped green tie while Jason Biggs went with a checkered jacket and blue pants.

Celebuzz sat down with the all-star supermodel cast of Oxygen’s new show, The Face, to get the inside scoop on America’s newest modeling competition.

With legendary models Naomi Campbell, Coco Rocha, and Karolina Kurkova serving as mentors and former America’s Next Top Model judge, Nigel Barker, acting as host, The Face promises a fresh take on TV modeling competitions.

To get ready for  Tuesday’s series premiere, the stars gave us six reasons why viewers should watch.

1. It gives viewers a look into the modeling world, on and off the runway.  Besides working the runway, The Face shows viewers just how much work goes into the life of a model off the runway.

“This is real business, this is the real world, this is the world that I love, and this is the world that people have never seen on television,” Barker tells us. “They think they’ve seen the fashion business, they think they know about what it’s like to be a model, but they’ve never actually seen what makes a real supermodel tick.”

2.  It’s about more than just a pretty face. Instead of just focusing on which girl has the prettiest picture, The Face looks to explore many other behind-the-scenes aspects of the fashion industry.

“Being a model is not about just being pretty, its about what we call ‘having the package,’ being able to talk, know how the lighting works, styling yourself, having a style, having an opinion, being personable and accessible to people,” Kurkova explains. “You have to be in front of a camera, you have to be able to edit pictures, come up with ideas, and be an art director. The girls of the show are taking on roles of the whole industry. They’re not just being models, they’re being photographers, art directors, stylists… everything. There will be a lot of different things they will face in the real life of the fashion world, and they should know about the craft.”

3. The competition is amongst the judges as well as the models. The competitors of The Face are divided up into three teams — each getting a supermodel-mentor. This allows viewers to watch their favorite models candidly step into the fray of the competition along with contestants.

“People hear things about Naomi Campbell, you see pictures of Coco Rocha, but you don’t know why they did it or how they did it,” Barker says. “You just get a snippet, you get to see them in longevity, you get to see all the aspects, and the answers, and the reasons why, and it all makes sense. Anyone who’s fascinated with fashion is going to be interested in the show.”

“We’re three different girls from three different generations and how do we train these girls? That’s what’s so interesting about this,” Rocha explains. “Not only about the girls, but about the mentors and what they do.”

4. Naomi Campbell means guaranteed drama. While we don’t know exactly how the show will play out, we can only hope that the supermodels’ claws will come out, if only just for a little while.

“I’m a tough love coach, which I think you can imagine,” Campbell says. “And I give encouragement and praise to my girls, but I also tell them when things are not right and they need to change them. Those are still suggestions, by the way, that they can choose to do or not. I don’t want to candy coat anything for them. They need to know the truth because we’re not going to be there, holding their hand when they go into the real world and they need to know. I’m as honest and as organic and authentic as I can be.”

The Face premieres on Tuesday at 9PM on Oxygen.

Proving they’re much more than a trio of pretty faces, the runway veterans modeled three very different but equally showstopping — and sexy — dresses.

Since stumbling upon professional modeling as a teen, Coco Rocha has strutted the catwalk for high-end designers like Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney, has mugged for campaigns for high-end fashion houses like Versace, Chanel, and Dior, and has covered some of the industry’s most-heralded magazines like W, Harper’s Bazaar and even Vogue.

Now, almost a decade into her career, Rocha is ready to share her model expertise as a mentor on Oxygen’s new reality competition series, The Face. But she won’t take just any competitor under her wing.

“I don’t need a team of girls who just want to be on this show to be famous,” she told Celebuzz during the show’s premiere party at New York City hotspot Marquee on Tuesday night. “I don’t want reality TV stars. I want to find an actual model that really, passionately wants to learn something from me. I think I got that in my girls.”

Though she is flexible with her team of fashion-industry hopefuls, Rocha won’t stand for anything that stains her good name. “I am strict in certain ways. I don’t [want to] push things on my girls,” she explained. “If they say to me, ‘I’m not comfortable with this,’ or ‘I don’t want to do that,’ there [are] reasons why. And I leave it at that. I say straight [to] them, ‘If you do anything that makes me or my team look bad, you’re out.’”

When The Face premieres on Feb. 12, drama will ensue — not only amongst the contestants as they go head-to-head in photo shoot, runway show and commercial challenges, but also between the mentors: Rocha and fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell and Karolina Kurkova.

“It gets so passionate on this show,” Rocha said. “You’re going to see that we’re crying, we’re upset, we’re yelling. We are just so involved in our teams. [So] there’s the aspect of a competition and a winner, and then there’s the aspect of just watching the mentors…. There’s emotion involved because you want your team to win. You want to make sure that they do well. Alongside that, you want to make sure that they actually learn.”

And one nugget of knowledge that Rocha will be sure to share with the aspirants is her ongoing campaign against the prevalence of eating disorders in the industry.

“Thing is, if you talk about it, it’s better. So I have to promote that for the girls,” she explained. “The girls have to stop and say, ‘No, I’m not going to do that.’ And the same goes for whoever we are working with, [be it] clientele, designers, photographers, editors. If they are pushing anything, they need to say, ‘Hold on, I’m talking to a young teenager here.’”

“I think it’s just for everyone to be aware that we (models) need to say, ‘Hold on a minute,’” she continued. “And they need to [realize] they’re dealing with a young individual. It is really is so easy to fix. We just need to work on the cycle.”

The Face premieres on Oxygen at 9 PM / 8 PM Central on Feb. 12.

Heidi Klum and Coco Rocha went for an early morning run through New York City on Saturday. The supermodels jogged in the park together, as part of Klum’s AOL Summer Run. After the workout, Klum took to Twitter to thank her pal:

“Thanks for joining my summer run this morning, @cocorocha! You rock!”

Klum started the eight week Summer Run on her new lifestyle website to get healthy and encourage other women to join her in doing the same. A few weeks ago, she was joined by Kim Kardashian for a four mile run.

The svelte supermodel admits by the end of the run, Kim was the one pushing her to go further.“It was amazing. I had to keep up with her. She is a better runner than me,” Heidi told Celebuzz at the Hampton’s Magazine party.
