Just like the rest of the world, love makes the Hollywood go round.

This year had no shortage of romance among the stars. From Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel saying “I do” under the stars in Southern Italy, to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively secretly getting hitched on a sprawling Southern plantation, many buzzed-about celebrity couples found their happily-ever-after in 2012.

Even some of the industry’s most beloved golden girls turned bridal. Natalie Portman tied the knot with her Benjamin Millepied in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Big Sur, Calif., where Anne Hathaway also walked down the aisle at sunset to wed Adam Shulman.

Drew Barrymore vowed for forever with Will Kopleman at her Montecito, Calif. estate, while Carey Mulligan took the plunge with Mumford & Sons musician Marcus Mumford in the countryside of Somerset, England.

But wedded bliss didn’t bless everyone, with many longtime lovers calling it quits in 2012. After almost seven years of marriage, Heidi Klum and Seal announced their separation in January before officially filing for divorce three months later.

Parting ways after five wedded years, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes — long labeled Tomkat — reached a surprisingly speedy divorce settlement after just 11 days in July, with the actress receiving primary custody of the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Suri.

But not all of Hollywood’s bitter breakups stuck. Back in July, Kristen Stewart was infamously snapped smooching her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, seemingly ruining her three-year relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson. But Twihard broken hearts were soon on the mend, as Stewart and Pattinson were spotted canoodling in Los Angeles, Calif., in October.

Sorry, Sex and the City fans, it looks like Miranda Hobbes won’t be back on the big screen — or any screen — any time soon.

Cynthia Nixon, 46, is ready to retire from the series and film franchise for good.

“I think we had a wonderful ride,” the Emmy award-winning actress told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview this week.

“I think it’s fine to let it go.”

The series finale of SATC aired on HBO in February 2004, after six seasons. Nixon reunited with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis for the first movie in 2008, and again in 2010.

Nixon isn’t the first ‘SATC’ alum to publicly say ‘no thanks’ to a third installment.

In August, Mr. Big himself, Chris Noth, told Celebuzz that he had little hope for Sex and the City 3.

“I think it’s kind of over . . . I don’t think anyone else in the crowd wants to do it. You get the feeling we did everything we could with it. Who knows, though,” he said.

Meanwhile, lifelong fans of the show can look forward to The Carrie Diaries, a prequel series starring AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw.

The CW show is set to premiere in January.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon and her longtime girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, have legally wed in New York this Sunday.

The couple got engaged at a gay rights rally three years ago and waited until the state legalized same-sex marriage — which it did in July 2011 — before tying the knot.

“On May 27, 2012, Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, were legally married in the state of New York,” the actress’ rep released in a statement. “Nixon wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera.”

Nixon, 46, and her activist gal pal, 45, have been together since 2004. Marinoni gave birth to the couple’s son, Max Ellington, in February 2011.

Cynthia is also the mother of two other children from her previous relationship with photographer Danny Mozes.

Congrats to the happy couple!

What happened to Darren Criss‘ beautiful, curly mane?!

If you were as nervous as we were when seeing this pic, fear not — it’s just a bald cap! On a recent episode of Glee, the 25-year-old crooner switched places with Mark Salling‘s character Puck, who is known for his mohawk, and had to undergo this interesting transformation.

Darren’s Glee co-star Chord Overstreet tweeted this behind the scenes pic and teased:

She has an Emmy, a Grammy and a Tony. So, when will Sex and the City beauty Cynthia Nixon win an Oscar to complete the coveted EGOT? As she told Celebuzz Friday at the 2012 Drama League Awards, the rare achievement almost happened.

“I did consider naming my Max Oscar, so that I would have one,” she quipped on the red carpet at the New York-based event.

What are her plans for the summer?

Cynthia was one of the many stars nominated this afternoon, for her critically acclaimed performance in the revival of ‘Wit,’ in which she played a woman stricken with cancer. To prepare for the role, Cynthia had to shave her hair off completely. Now that it’s slowly beginning to grow back, how does she plan to style it?

“I don’t know!” she said. “I’m not gonna keep it like this! [Laughs] But I don’t know.”

One thing she does know: Despite receiving another Tony nomination, Cynthia says she doesn’t have the itch to return to Broadway anytime soon.

“I have the itch to take the summer off. I’m just gonna go; I’ve got a house, I’ve got a vegetable garden. I’m gonna be with my kids and be in the sunshine and be at the beach,” adding that her kids will be very excited to have her.

Meanwhile, Celebuzz also spoke to some of the biggest stars on Broadway, including multiple Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara, who is nominated again for her performance in ‘Nice Work If You Can Get It.’ Last month, reports circulated that she will later star in a highly anticipated revival of ‘The King & I,’ at Lincoln Center, where she appeared in ‘South Pacific’ and ‘The Light in the Piazza.’

Will it actually happen?

“I think it will,” the 36-year-old star confirmed. “I just don’t know when. I think we all would love to do it; I think it will be scheduling. The announcement was a little premature, just because I think they have to figure out a lot of things before it happens.”

Nice Work marks Kelli’s fourth — yes, fourth! — Tony nomination. (She was previously nominated for The Light in the Piazza, The Pajama Game and South Pacific.) What will it take for her to finally win one?

“I don’t know!” she said with a laugh. “I think you have to ask other people. Well, I guess when I’m a nominated group that doesn’t involve Patti LuPone or Audra McDonald doing Porgy and Bess. I get lucky to be nominated, that’s what I think.”

If that wasn’t enough Broadway news for one post, Celebuzz saved room to talk to Jeremy Jordan, the Tony-nominated lead in the musical adaptation of Newsies. Given his busy schedule, does he have any time to plan his wedding to fellow Broadway star Ashley Spencer?

“We did most of the preparing already,” he said. “I think we just have to send out invitations, and hope other things happen. I’m excited. We have to plan our honeymoon now. I think we’re gonna go to Hawaii. We’ve never been there. There’s a reason that everybody wants to go to Hawaii.”

While Cynthia Nixon is known for role as the fiery redhead on Sex and the City, the accomplished actress took the the buzzers for her latest project, Broadway play, Wit. In the production, Cynthia plays a poetry professor with terminal cancer, and stopped by Live! With Kelly to talk a bit about the play and what life has been like, sans hair.

So, what’s one of the most surprising parts about it?

Cynthia said she thought it would be “no muss, no fuss,” but she has to shave it every day!

Celebs like Demi Lovato and Gwyneth Paltrow have recently been seen sporting the natural look with great results — and the latest to join the fresh face trend is Cynthia Nixon.

The Sex and the City alum was snapped makeup free in NYC, carrying the book It’s Always Something by the late SNL star Gilda Radner.

Cynthia looked freshly scrubbed with a clean face and her hair brushed back while strolling through the big apple in a comfy sweater and a water bottle to keep her hydrated. 

New York City gal Cynthia Nixon stepped out looking fresh as a daisy this afternoon without a stitch of makeup. 

Although she’s been immortalized as the upscale (and uptight) Miranda in Sex in the City, her casual style is more suited to a new mom. She and her partner Christine Marinoni celebrated their son Max‘s first Thanksgiving this past week.

She told People.com she was making turkey and different kinds of stuffing, which she was happy to let her 9-month-old try. 

“He is a lovely, cute, very communicative little kid,” she said of her baby boy.

Hollywood may be honoring its best and brightest tonight at the Oscars but there is another, less-glittery award show this weekend that has actors and actress running for the hills: The Razzies.

Jackson Rathbone, M. Night Shyamalan and the ladies from Sex and the City were all the big “winners” at Saturday night’s Golden Raspberry Awards (more commonly known as the Razzies) which honors the “worst” films and actors of the past year.

Unlike the Oscars, celebrities are often not present to accept their Golden Raspberry and this year’s award show was no different. Hey, can you really blame celebs for not wanting to honor their “worst” performances?

Congratulations to Cynthia Nixon!

People magazine reports that the Sex and the City actress and her fiancée, Christine Marinoni, welcomed a son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, on Monday. A rep for Nixon notes,

“Christine and baby are doing great.”

Nixon, 44, has two children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 8, from her relationship with photographer Danny Mozes. Nixon and Marinoni, 43, began dating in 2004 and became engaged in 2009.

All the stars were in New York City for the premiere of Sex and the City 2, a serious documentary about modern feminism and consumer culture–no, just kidding! It’s a fun movie about gal pals, fashion, and romance.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall all put on stunning gowns and strutted their stuff down the red, er, blue carpet.

Unfortunately, not every celebrity in attendance was having so many fashion FTWs, Liza Minnelli walked the carpet wearing a pantsuit made out of what looked like transparent fish skins.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon may have shocked a lot of people when she came out as a lesbian with girlfriend Christine Marinoni but apparently Cynthia had to battle her publicist in order to come out publicly.

Cynthia tells The Advocate that she hired her first publicist to help her deal with all the questions that were coming up about her and Christine, but she was upset when the publicist told her to not come out and not address the rumors.

From The Advocate (via PopEater):

He was a very nice man who I won’t name, but he does have a number of clients who are closeted,’ she said, adding that the publicist insisted they kill all rumors and deny Nixon was dating a woman. ‘He just kept saying, “It’s your life, and it’s private, and that’s it.” And we kept asking, “That’s the whole thing? We never move past that? We’re at the playground with the kids, and pictures are taken of us, and we say, ‘No, she’s my friend?’”

Apparently, Cynthia quickly fired that publicist and moved on to openly gay power publicist Kelly Bush, who told Cynthia just to address the gay rumors head on.

Cynthia also talked with the magazine about her relationship with Christine and described her much more butch-looking girlfriend as “a man with boobs.” However, Cynthia described herself as the more butch one of the relationship and admitted that Christine liked more stereotypically feminine things like fashion more than Cynthia.

Even more shocking? Cynthia tells the magazine that she isn’t a natural redhead! Gee, you think you know a person.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and the rest of the gang have faced plenty of awkward situations during the Sex and the City saga, but facing the ravages of time is one sticky situation that they’d apparently prefer to head off at the pass.

Though the sequel to 2008′s Sex and the City movie isn’t due to hit theaters for another four months, a third installment of the Adventures of Carrie and Crew is reportedly already being rushed into production. What’s the hurry? Well, the movie’s stars are getting up there in age, and apparently the studio feels that Menopause and the City won’t put the meat in the seats. A source spills:

“There is also a third movie on the go. It’s under wraps for publicity reasons. It makes sense to film the second and third movies back-to-back. The characters will look a lot younger on screen when the third movie is out in a couple of years.”

Smart move, ladies. But here’s a protip: If you want to appear younger in the next film, it’s probably not wise to have any teenage pop stars stand next to you in the thing. May we suggest an alternate?

With release dates for Summer 2010 finally set, the manly manster movie adaptation of hit ’80s TV show The A-Team is set to go tete-a-tete with the swinging-single-girl-power sequel Sex and the City 2 (also based on a popular, albeit more recent, television show) in a summer blockbuster battle of the sexes.

To assess the potential winner of this testosterone vs. estrogen movie madness showdown, it might be helpful to understand that these film casts really are just two opposite sides to the same coin, each respective gender on a mission to find themselves some action. Upon closer inspection, even the individual characters of each fabulous foursome have some deeply rooted commonalities. Take a look and see how we breakdown the similarity pairings between the two movie gangs.

“Hannibal” (Liam Neeson) and “Carrie” (Sarah Jessica Parker), the two commanders of their respective packs. Both put thought and care into the mission laid out before them, whether that be to rescue prisoners-of-war from a jungle stronghold or to get downtown for drinks with Mr. Big. Natural born leaders both, while Carrie is a fashion trendsetter, Hannibal is a large artillery weapons expert.  So, sort of similar, though, not precisely or anything.

Both “Face Man” (Bradley Cooper) and “Samantha” (Kim Cattrall) are players in the game of sexual conquest. They use their sparkling smiles and perfect set lighting to lower the defenses of their human conquests. While “Face Man” is less likely to use words that would get you sent to the principal’s office, his intentions mimic Samantha’s inasmuch as he believes his soulmate is out there somewhere, just waiting to be found, most likely on the morning side of a one-night stand.

B.A. Baracus (Quinton “Rampage” Jackson) don’t like when people talk like no crazy fools. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) concurs. B.A. is the the moral center of the A-Team. He thinks everybody is acting recklessly, that everybody is gonna get killed, and that drinking milk is a decent alternative to the crazy suckers around him. Charlotte also diverges from the more libertine tendencies of her urban posse. But, just like B.A., when it’s time to shop for cute shoes, she’s right there in the pack.

Murdock (Sharlto Copley) a/k/a “Howling Mad Murdock” and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) a/k/a “Howling Mad Hobbes” both have a unique outlook on life and are prone to fits of whim and fancy.  Miranda must consider whether to divorce her husband for a crime he did commit, while the government arrests Murdock for a crime he did not commit. Both are workaholics and often turn to their careers to the detriment of their personal lives.

See, when you break them down, they’re pretty much the same thing. Honestly, you could see either movie and probably get a very similar dramatic experience. Though we suspect there will be very little mixing among the crowd this coming summer.

Brace yourselves, people; the Four Horsewomen of the Sexual Apocalypse have mounted their steeds once again to thrill us with their carnal misadventures, jaw-dropping fashion sense and fortune-cookie philosophizing.

Behold, the new teaser-trailer for Sex and the City 2, in which Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall promise to reveal “things you thought would never happen in in a million years.”

We are definitely getting stoked for the Sex and the City sequel!

From what we’ve seen and heard so far, there will be cameo appearances by Penélope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Tim Gunn and Liza Minnelli, plus some crazy costumes, including 80′s flashback scenes!

Patricia Field, the movie’s stylist, spilled some secrets to People, joking that “It’s Star Wars for women all over the world.”

Regarding the 80′s costumes, she revealed:

“It was in the beginning of the movie. Carrie was waiting to meet her girlfriends and she was thinking about when she first moved to New York in the ’80s and how she met Samantha and Charlotte. They’re all, in real time, meeting to go shopping. And in her flashback time, she is thinking of when she first met each one of them.”

What about Miley’s cameo, in which she appears on a red carpet in the same dress as Kim Catrall?

“That’s in the story line, but I’m not going to tell that one. But, it’s fun. Miley’s a very good character. She’s a really nice girl. She’s happy and with it! She’s a very cool girl.”

Perhaps the biggest question is whether or not Carrie Bradshaw will be expecting a baby, to which she remained mum. 

“I don’t know. You’re going to have to see for yourself because then what’s the fun?”
