“Yeah, you know it’s hard,” Courteney, 47, said during the interview. “I probably caught up to this whole situation later than he did. And, I am really happy for him and he’s got a girlfriend. Everything’s great, I know it seems so weird, it’s even weird for me to say that.”

Even David is trying to get her to start dating again. “David said, ‘Courteney, you’ve got to get out there.’ I’m easing my way in,” she said.

When asked whether she ever dated her Cougartown costar Josh Hopkins, the actress shot down the pesky rumors with a simple, “No.”

Although Court and David remain friends, they were nervous about how their seven-year-old daughter would react to the split.

“I think she’s a really old soul, this kid. I mean she says things like, ‘Mom, I don’t want you to get hurt but daddy has a girlfriend.’ She’s just kind of a really unique kid. Obviously she’d like to see us back together because all kids do but she understands that we’re okay, that we love each other and we will always be a family. I tell her everything, we both are like that, we tell her everything.”

TV Line is exclusively reporting that David Arquette will guest star on the season finale of Cougar Town, which of course stars his ex, Courteney Cox.

In the episode, the recent Dancing With the Stars contestant will play a “hotel concierge who offers to help Jules [Cox] and the gang with literally anything.” No word yet on when the episode will air, though we do know that the show will return on Feb. 14. (In other words: Get your Big Carl glasses ready!)

Courtney and David, who split in 2010, previously worked together on Friends and in the Scream franchise. Courteney recently referred to David as her “best friend.” Looks like she meant it, too!

While at the Cougar Town TCA party this week, the former Friends star had nothing but nice things to say about her ex and her baby’s daddy. She gushed (via People.com):

“He’s my favorite person in the world. He’s my best friend. No matter what happens in our future, he’s my very best friend.”

The two called it quits in 2010 after 11 years of marriage and having their child Coco, but have been very adament about keeping a friendship, a seen in these recent Courteney quotes. The actress even attended David’s one year sobriety party this past month.

The actors share a production company called Coquette Productions, and are developing a show that sounds vaguely similar to the former couple’s experience. “We sold one show, Ten Year, about a couple who separated after 10 years of marriage,” she told People. “It’s not really about David and me, but it’s something we related to and we thought we should tell a story about people who could actually get along after being separated. It’s telling a different version.”

The actor showed off his streamlined physique in a candid shot he tweeted for Us Weekly, saying:

David has done fairly well on the show, although his scores haven’t been as high as many expected when early predictions came out. The week before last, he was in the bottom three with a score of 18 and barely stayed in the competition. He managed to do better this past week and avoided being up for elimination. Tonight, it seems like he’s ready to set the Dancing floor on fire! Go David!

Offstage, things have been heating up with a rumored new romance with Joe Francis‘ ex Christina McLarty.

“She’s adorable,” he told Howard Stern on his radio show. “I’m not one to run around with different girls. I like someone that makes me feel good and that I can make feel good. We try to see each other as much as possible.”

When asked if he was still in love with Courteney Cox, David said, “I’m not; we’re in the friend zone now,” before confirming that he had a new lover.

In the end, model/TV personality (and George Clooney‘s ex) Elisabetta was sent packing. However, she didn’t actually have the lowest score. Chaz had the lowest score — possibly due to pain in his knees that prevented him from doing his best. He only received a 17.

The actor just got back from his first trip to Africa to mark his upcoming 40th birthday with Malaria No More, a nonprofit determined to end malaria deaths in Africa.

During his trip to the West African Nation of Senegal, David distributed mosquito nets to families in need, talked with parents who are working to protect their children and met with village chiefs to learn how they are fighting malaria in their communities. How can you help?

Now that he’s back in the U.S., David is engaging supporters online through “David Arquette’s Birthday Giveback” campaign on Crowdrise. 

Malaria’s victims are mostly young children under the age of five — but the disease is preventable and treatable. For his birthday, David is asking fans to help him and Malaria No More give children in Africa the gift of growing up. To supercharge his efforts, Sumitomo Chemical/Olyset, a leader in the global fight against malaria, has promised to match every dollar raised — up to $25,000!

From now until his birthday on September 8th, David will upload trip photos, videos and some of his favorite Senegalese souvenirs on the site for Crowdrise supporters to win throughout the campaign!

 People reported David and Christina were dancing all night at the Camp Playboy party on Friday, while sources told us the two were seen in The Hard Rock Hotel together before partying at the Entertainment Weekly event on Saturday night.

David and Courteney Cox announced their separation in October, but remain very friendly. Christina McLarty and Girls Gone Wild mogul Joe Francis had a civil union ceremony in Mexico last November but broke up after a month.

Sources also confirm to Celebuzz that David and Christina were definitely the Comic-Con pair.

“David strolled into the Hard Rock Hotel hand in hand Saturday afternoon with Christina,” a hotel source tells us. “They stopped by the front desk, and then headed up into the hotel. They looked very friendly.”

Arquette and McLarty were then later spotted hanging together at the Entertainment Weekly party at The Hard Rock later Saturday night.

No official word yet if these two are together together, or just friends. 

Francis and Christina ended their relationship a month after their civil union ceremony in Mexico. Courteney and David announced their separation October 2010 after 11 years.

David Arquette also was in great spirits, enjoying the music by DJ Paul Sevigny and a performance by HUGO.

While some blogs speculated that meant they were reconciling after friendly photos of the two emerged, David is clearing some things up via Twitter:

“Although Courteney and I spent Memorial day together as a family and she was so sweet and supportive of me by coming to see David Arquette Presents Beacher’s Madhouse last night we are not back together as a couple but remain family and dear friends.”

We think it’s great how friendly and supportive both David and Courteney have been towards one another since announcing their separation in early October.

The estranged couple were snapped leaving an event hosted by David at Hollywood hot spot Beacher’s Madhouse Theatre. Despite the side hugs and smiles, the two reportedly left in separate cars.  David looked like he was valeting the cars himself, dressed in a burgundy jacket and bowtie. Meanwhile, Courteney put on a pair of sky-high heels and a sheer top for the big night. 

Also at Beacher’s Madhouse was Ashton Kutcher who left with his entourage that included a mystery blonde.

Ashton was sporting a lot of facial hair for a man that’s about to return to TV to replace Charlie Sheen‘s ladies’ man character on Two and a Half Men. The actor has also grown some long locks and was wearing a comfy gray cardigan as he sped away from the party.

“He looked really happy,” a partygoer at Arquette’s table tells Celebuzz. “It seems like his recovery is going well, he drank water the entire time.”

David entered rehab in early January. 

Our source, who says he was hanging out with a mystery brunette for most of the evening, said that despite still being separated from wife Courteney Cox the actor was in a great mood.

“He was so friendly with everyone, taking pictures with fans and talking to any guests who came up to him,” adds our insider.

Glad to hear he is doing so well! Arquette mingled with celeb attendees like Mark Salling and watched Nicki Minaj give a killer performance while Jennifer Hudson looked on from the side of the stage.

David, who has ben sober for over 100 days now (so great!), left after the premiere to get on a flight to New York City where he was on Howard Stern on Tuesday. Arquette, whom we praise for his refreshing honesty, insisted to Stern that there is nothing going on between Court and Josh.

Sources at the Scream 4 after-party tell Celebuzz that Cox and Hopkins indeed were “hanging out” but that “nothing looked overly flirty.”

Arquette also told Howard this morning that despite him being rejected after he tried to “make a move” on Courteney while vacationing at Disneyworld, he and his wife will know soon where their future is headed.

In photos posted on TMZ, Arquette is seen laying on the grass just feet away from the accident. Arquette reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic in his silver Cadillac to avoid hitting a car that stopped short, hitting a black SUV head-on. The passenger-side airbag in the other car is seen deployed, and Arquette’s hood is totally folded in.

Arquette has made headlines for his erratic behavior over the last few months following his split from wife Courteney Cox, which eventually led to him entering rehab.

In late February appeared on Oprah to talk about his struggles with addiction. He told Oprah he “got really into drugs before I got serious with Courteney. It was something that scared her early on in our relationship. My mother was dying and … I used that to numb the feelings.” Watch a clip below:
