Season 7 champ David Cook has just listed his home in Beachwood Canyon, CA, for a cool $1.5 million ($1,495,000, to be exact).

So, what do you get for the hefty price? According to the real estate listing, the 3,000-plus square-foot mansion has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, a professionally designed recording studio, a custom designed dog yard and, best of all, an excellent view of the Hollywood sign. Sounds tempting – if you have the cash, anyway!

Cook was crowned the winner of American Idol nearly four years ago, and has since released two studio albums.

]]> A veritable Mount Rushmore of pop music assembled on the stage of Good Morning America‘s concert series on Friday morning, as American Idol alumnae David Cook, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen joined musical forces to shock and awe the audience.

As Cook and his band tore into the Fleetwood Mac classic “Little Lies,” the Idol winner and runner-up joined him onstage to raise the roof. Check out the video below:

Cook was set to play at college campuses in New Hampshire and Connecticut.

The “Light On” singer’s rep didn’t elaborate on what those matters were, but People reports that Cook’s brother Adam has battled brain cancer for over ten years and the rep confirmed that David spent time with his brother last week.

Cook will return to the stage where he beat out baby-faced David Archuleta for the AI title last year in a taped performance set to air on Wednesday.

A message was posted on his official website that read “David would like everyone to rest assured that we are working with the universities to reschedule the shows that are missed.”

According to E! Online, David Cook has signed an endorsement deal with Skechers footwear to develop a casual shoe “that will reflect his personality, interests and appeal.”

Hmm; presumably, that means they’ll come pre-scuffed, and scented with a pheromone that attracts women of the genus cougar.

The bristly-faced troubadour will also appear on billboards and in print ads for the shoes through December 2009.

“I have always viewed Skechers as a cool company, so I am excited to be a part of their campaign,” Cook gushed about the agreement.

Fantastic! Now perhaps Skechers can sign up American Idol judge Paula Abdul to develop a shoe that matches her personality. It would probably have to be made of schizophrenic reversible fabric.

The two were spotted trying to lay low at a Los Angeles Dodgers-Colorado Rockies game, where Kimberly was to sing the National Anthem. The two sat in chichi box seats and partook of Wolfgang Puck cuisine, Us magazine reports.

“Kimberly was definitely nervous about the public appearance!” a source tells the mag. “They were really cute and sweet together, laughing and having a lot fun.”

The cougar magnet has had a thing for Kimmy ever since he saw her talking about him on TV Guide’s Idol preshows, and he even asked her out on camera. And the rest, as they say, is tabloid history.

Some flack must have really earned his keep, as the couple managed to keep their faces off the stadium’s Jumbotron. Enjoy that privacy now, kids, ’cause as David’s star rises, so will the heat on you both.

Vieira excitedly addressed both David and the crowd. “A lot of [your fans] are older women—right, ladies? It’s the Cougars for Cook,” she said, evoking a joyous response from the throngs gathered to eagerly await the young man’s live outdoor performance.

In response to the adulation, Cook downplayed the attention, telling Meredith, “It’s amazing what a haircut and forgetting to shave will do.”

Not such great advice for the ladies, interestingly enough.

The bearded warbler took the top prize last Wednesday, along with the opportunity to put the moves on season-two contestant Kimberly Caldwell, who now cohosts the TV Guide Network’s American Idol red-carpet show with fellow also-ran Justin Guarini. As Caldwell and Guarini interviewed Cook and his competitor David Archuleta on live television, Cook poured it on.

“I’m just excited because I finally get to meet you,” Cook gushed. “I’ve been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, and so I’m actually going to ask you out to dinner right now.” View the video below:

Who could resist a line like that? Certainly not Caldwell, who was seen out with Cook at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse over the weekend. “She seems like a really great  girl,” Cook later noted on Larry King Live, adding that he hopes their relationship “will be a bit of a long, drawn-out process.”

A long, drawn-out process? Hmmm, something tells us would be a familiar experience for both of them.

David Archuleta‘s Great Santini of a father was obviously unable to go through with his plan to take hostages at knifepoint until his son was crowned the winner.

Last night’s season-seven finale was chock-full of celebrities and performances from this season’s past contestants. George Michael ended a medley of his tunes performed by the Idol kids by coming out and gamely attempting to get through “Praying for Time.” It made Paula Abdul cry, but people get emotional when they’re drinking.

David Cook realized his honky-tonk I’m-never-going-to-sing-anything-this-genuine-ever-again rock dreams when he got to sing “Sharp Dressed Man” with ZZ Top. Archie sang “Apologize” with the extremely generic, future wedding band One Republic.

Mike Myers made an appearance as his next unfunny character to plug a movie that even jokey frat boys are going to avoid.

The real show, though, was Janice Dickinson in the audience, terrifying people with her Steve Tyler face and plans to seduce David Archuleta after the broadcast. She’s a live wire, that one.
