David Hasselhoff, 59, parodies his swaggering tan persona — Mitch Buchannon from Baywatch — in the new movie (out June 1) as he makes a guest appearance at the opening of a water park that is about to become a buffet for prehistoric fish.

As the carnage plays out around him, the Hoff’s character ponders decisions that have led him to such a career low.

What did he reveal?

“If you keep worrying about things and taking life seriously, that’s when you realize you’re going to have problems,” Hasselhoff told Celebuzz in a recent interview. “God, I’m still living down a cheeseburger tape that was actually a private moment between me and my daughter.”

Of course, he’s referring to the infamous 2007 video shot by his daughter, Taylor-Ann. In it, the Hoff, shirtless and allegedly drunk on the floor of a Vegas hotel room, attempts to eat a cheeseburger.

For Hasselhoff, the incident served a purpose. “It got me off my ass. Six weeks later, I got custody of my kids,” he said. “Thank God for these moments in my life that I think are tragic and crazy. Then I laugh about them later.”

Up until the incident, Hasselhoff had enjoyed a good relationship with the media; however, since then, he says he’s gained a new perspective on the limelight.

“It drew the line in the sand and I said, ‘If this is how we’re going to play this game, then I’m going to play this game and I’m going to win this game,” he recalled. “And I won my daughters in six weeks — full custody — because it was wrong, what happened.”

Comedians had a field day with the incident, including Chelsea Handler, who hosted him on her show, Chelsea Lately, airing May 29.

“She’s been making fun of me for seven years and I went on and brought her roses and said, ‘Hey, I’m one of your biggest fans,” he laughed, adding, “It’s show business, it isn’t about cancer.”

In addition to Piranha 3DD, the 59-year-old actor can be seen in a new video for the pop group, Train, and a Lifetime Channel movie, The Christmas Consultant, with Caroline Rhea.

“I just go with the flow,” he said. “Sometimes I just get on the Hoff train and we ride.”

Now they’re taking the UK by storm with a new single and singing sister act called Bella Vida! The duo recently performed their debut song “Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang” at the famous London at G-A-Y venue.

Celebuzz had to know: Is there a duet with daddy in the works? The girls are so been there, done that. Plus, they talk about the haters — and give us a list of their favorite dance songs of all time!

How did you choose the name Bella Vida & what does it mean?
Bella Vida means beautiful life. We believe in cherishing your life to the fullest every single day and living each day like it could be your last because life is beautiful and you only get one to live. We want to spend our lives giving guidance through our music. We are trying to share that we are the same as you and when you are feeling trapped, scared and/or lonely — that we have felt these same feelings and you can get through it because we have. We have built a strength through being born in the limelight with ups and downs and hope to communicate to the world through our music that it is okay to feel negative, but in the end you are going to get through it.

How long have you been singing and what gave you the idea to form a sister act?
We have been singing since we were little girls, taking singing lessons, choir, and musicals. When times were rough for us growing up, we listened to music in order to release these feelings and we bonded through the happiness that electronic-dance music made us feel. We became stronger siblings by going to different DJ sets of underground electronic and dance performers and that sparked both of us to want to get into the genre as performers.

Your wardrobe in the “Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang” video is edgy and sexy! How would you define your personal style?
We love to think outside of the box and have fun with what we wear. Since fashion has always been a huge part of our lives, we decided that we always wanted to be in control of what we wear. We teamed up with some great underground desingers to be in the prcoess of each stage performance. We describe our group’s style as rocker chic.

There are always haters out there, how do you deal with negativity?
Unfortunately since we have been born in the limelight we have dealt with haters and negaitivy our entire lives. [That] may seem like a negative thing, but we have turned it into a positive outcome. We grew stronger. Hopefully we can guide people through our music and our personal lives as sisters and teach fans to never give up, always strive for the best and to always believe in yourself when other’s don’t; that’s the true key.

How would you describe your sound and the message behind your songs?
Our sound is electro pop. Our new single is much more on the pop side than the rest of our album because we believe in embracing all styles of music … We grew up listening to electronic-dance music, which is the foundation to all of our songs we write. Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang is a fun song that hopefully gives the listener confidence whether you’re a guy or girl. Our next tracks coming out have much more of a personal connection to others through an emotional twist.

Your father has also had hit songs, would you ever consider doing a duet with him?
We have sang on his Christmas album when we were younger, but now embarking on our new journey as Bella Vida we don’t plan on doing another duet with him. In the future perhaps as solo singers Taylor-Ann and Hayley Hasselhoff, there could be a duet.

You’re working it in the UK right now, how is the music scene different there than the states?
The UK seems to embrace the craft in the arts at a different level than the US, as half their TV channels are dedicated to the history of arts or featuring only music, concerts and dance around the UK.

When will you be coming to the US with your music?
Right now we are focusing on breaking out in the UK, but coming to the US is a huge dream of ours and we can’t wait to play at underground venues such as the Love Festival, Tao, Hard, and Coachella, which are festivals that introduced us to the pure love of electronic music.

The girls describe Bella Vida (rough translation: The Beautiful Life) as “a sister group who strive to make great music and want to share our love and passion for electronic music all over the world.”

It came down to actor and former televsion casanova David Hasselhoff, who danced a low-scoring cha cha cha (to “Sexbomb”) on Monday night and Disney Channel star Kyle Massey, who was dubbed an “adorable puppy” by the judges.

So The Hoff bit the dust after just one week, which is quite the blow for a guy who’s been on TV for a few decades. With his daughters looking on, he called the experience “a great ride.”
And as he said to partner Kym Johnson right after being voted out, “Baby, we tried!”

But The Sitch may not be heading back to his GTL routine just yet. The feisty judges told the underdog that he has potential to become a ballroom beast.  “You’re just underrehearsed,” head judge Len Goodman said. “You’ve got the guns but not the ammunition.” Make no mistake, we are rooting for this man!

Bristol Palin didn’t fare too much better than The Sitch, earning an 18 points for her cha cha cha to “Mama Told Me Not to Come.” Despite reports that she wouldn’t don the show’s token barely-there costumes, Bristol busted out a sexy red fringed dress and inspired a joke from judge Bruno Tonioli, who said: “This is virgin territory for you!”

According to an E! report, Sarah Palin’s daughter and Levi Johnston’s ex will leave Alaska for Hollywood to be a castmember on the glitzy ballroom dance-off. Bristol, 19, has been a little more press shy than her Playgirl-posing ex, but she did step into the spotlight as an abstinence advocate and make a guest appearance on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Though rumors are swirling daily, the official cast announcement won’t come until Monday Aug. 30 during the Bachelor spin-off show, Bachelor Pad. If the report is true, Bristol may want to beware of The Situation’s backstage creeping!

Bach, a frequent guest star on Baywatch during its ’90s run, received 30 days for the November incident, plus an extra 60 because she had been on probation for a previous DUI.

Bach was arrested over Thanksgiving weekend last year, after being pulled over by the California Highway Patrol while driving on the 101 Freeway. She reportedly blew a .13 and .14 on her Breathalyzer tests—nearly twice California’s legal limit of .08.

Bach’s sentence is due to begin on May 3. Looks like she’ll be missing all of the Memorial Day and 4th of July parties this year—which is probably a good thing.

Judging from her current track record, we’re sure that there are plenty of loser, freeloading men who wear Ed Hardy t-shirts who would be more than willing to make Kate their sugar momma, but Kate isn’t settling for “regular” men to alienate and eventually break up with. Nope, our Kate is setting her sights on a celebrity beau.

Insiders tell PopEater that Kate wants a celebrity man to change her life and bring her into the Hollywood fold. From PopEater:

When Kate sees how Tom Cruise changed Katie Holmes life, it became clear that she needed to do the same. Obviously, she knows she’s not yet ready to date a George Clooney, but she thinks she would be the perfect partner for a Jeff Goldblum or someone like David Hasselhoff.

For more than thirty years, David Hasselhoff has lived larger than life on our television screens and in our tabloid columns.

A string of recent alcohol related incidents, culminating in a recent rush to the hospital for an enforced weekend stay, leaves us wistfully recalling the many lives of the ever-smiling, ever-shirtless, curly-locked, man-wonder.

Hot on the news that Hasselhoff was hospitalized on Friday due to a reportedly alcohol-related seizure, People magazine reports that Hoff’s ex Bach was popped for DUI on Saturday night, after being pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on the 101 Freeway near Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

According to TMZ, Bach blew a .13 and .14 on the Breathalyzer test—substantially higher than California’s legal limit of .08.

Bach was released from a Van Nuys, California, jail after bail was set at $15,000.

This would make DUI Arrest Number Two this year for Bach, who was busted for glug-glug, vroom-vroom back in March.

With this much in common, how is it that these two ever broke up?

Radar Online reports that former Baywatch stud David Hasselhoff has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, after suffering a seizure that was apparently spurred by a days-long bender.

Hasselhoff was hospitalized on Friday after suffering the seizure, which was reportedly proceeded by several days’ worth of serious imbibing. He was placed under psychiatric hold under the California Welfare Institutions Code 5150, which is generally reserved for subjects who are considered to be a danger to themselves or others. Per the code, the Hoff will be held for up to 72 hours and will undergo psychiatric observation.

The incident marks the latest chapter in Hasselhoff’s long, public battle with the bottle. In October, the America’s Got Talent judge was hospitalized in London after going on a drunken tear and clocking a doctor, while earlier this month he made headlines for getting into a drunken altercation with a senior citizen at the Cascade Casino in Canada.

Well, we certainly know what Hoff’s talent is.

TMZ has learned that David Hasselhoff has once again fallen off the wagon on a recent trip to Canada.

The actor, who has famously struggled with alcohol for years, was drinking and causing a scene at the Cascade Casino. That’s not all—apparently, the Hoff got himself involved in an altercation with an elderly patron and three casino security personnel were called to the scene!

Plus, Hoff was seen drinking just 7 hours later. What a trooper.

The Sun reports that the Hoff was hospitalized in a rehab unit—for the second time in as many months—in London after going on a bender that included bed-wetting and accidentally clocking a doctor who was called to help him.

Sources say that the binge began over the weekend, at cohort Simon Cowell‘s 50th birthday party. But that just proved to be a launching pad for the Hoff’s drunken spree, during which he drank for days in his room at the St. Martins Lane Hotel.

A source close to the Hoff tells the paper,

“David is very hard to handle when he drinks, often very emotional and aggressive. On this occasion he became so drunk he wet his hotel bed—ruining two mattresses —and was becoming a real pain for staff.”

The source goes on to note that Hasselhoff’s assistant Joe Townley, troubled by his boss’s behavior, called Dr. Paul Ettinger to look after him—but the Hoff, enraged at his assistant’s boldness, lashed out at Townley and mistakenly struck Ettinger, who quickly developed a bruised forehead.

At which point hotel staffers dragged Hasselhoff to the basement while they awaited an ambulance to take the former Baywatch star to Caprio Nightingale Hospital.

According to hotel guest Maria Weston, who spied Hasselhoff carrying on and cursing in the hotel bar prior to the hospitalization,

“He was abusing all the staff, shouting at everyone. We were shocked—you’d think he was just some drunk, not a big star.”

TMZ reports that David Hasseloff had an unusual father-daughter outing with his girl Hayley Hasselhoff on Wednesday night. According to the site, the former Baywatch hunk took Hayley to a launch party for a new line of lingerie. Which was being held at West Hollywood “erotic boutique” Coco de Mer.

Yes, an erotic boutique. Where they sell all sorts of prongy things that vibrate. And probably a questionable lotion or two as well.

Hayley, it’s worth noting, is 17 years old.

Hayley is also, it’s worth noting, the daughter who alerted her mom on Sunday night when Hasselhoff—who’s struggled with alcoholism throughout the years—allegedly went on a bender and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Hasselhoff’s people claim that an adverse reaction to medication spurred the hospital visit but, really, would any sober man bring his underage daughter to a sex shop? Is he taking fathering tips from John Phillips now?
