Meg Ryan‘s adorable wit? Check.  Eva Mendes‘s curvalicious bod? Check. Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s smoldering sex appeal? Check.  The combination of these three women should make for the ultimate chick flick; not to mention the experience and talent of the other female cast members as well! 

What could these women have possibly done so wrong?  

Two factors must be weighed against each other when deciding to spend $11 on The Women: Its disappointing reviews versus that adorable all-star cast.

Now let’s tackle the real issue at hand, which is how fabulous all these ladies look. Granted, this superficial approach might seem to defeat the whole cause of the organization, but their credibility went a bit out the window when they invited Nicole Richie and Rumer Willis to attend.

Old-school glam was the look of the evening, with Eva Mendes in an art-deco-like bejeweled frock and pulled-back hair, Debi Mazar sporting a retro updo and kelly green faux-wrap dress and Jada Pinkett Smith in cascading jet-black tresses that made up for her lurking tan lines.

Nicole Richie aimed for golden-era Scarlett O’Hara by grabbing the nearest fringed schmatta to wrap around her suspiciously tiny postbaby frame…but she missed the mark.

And next time, Bruce and Demi‘s kid might take five minutes to blow-dry her hair, unless she enjoys looking like Pete Wentz in a dress.
