NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice is back and this time Donald Trump is bringing us an eclectic group of all-stars.

The business mogul appeared Friday on the Today show with his new cast to make the announcement with Matt Lauer. Among the most notable of this year’s group of celebrities is former winner Bret Michaels, who won the competition in 2010 during Celebrity Apprentice 3. When asked why he’d come back, the former front man of Poison told Lauer, “Last time I was really sick, and this time I’m ready to come back..”

The cast also includes TV personality Claudia Jordan, rapper Lil’ Jon, actor Gary Busey, actress Lisa Rinna, basketball player Dennis Rodman, magician Penn Jillette, singer La Toya Jackson, country music star Trace Adkins, Twisted Swister lead singer Dee Snider, actress/author Marilu Henner, Apprentice alum Omarosa, actor Stephen Baldwin and Playboy playmate Brande Roderick.

Some tension was noted on the Today show between Baldwin and Adkins who had previously clashed on the reality competition program. When asked by Lauer if there was any bad blood, Atkins appeared to joke, “I hate him.”

To which Baldwin replied, “I love him. I think so far it’s been very sweet and peaceful and calm but that’s kind of scary. Ithink we have a couple of zingers coming, it should be very exciting.”

Each celeb will again be competing for a $250,000 donation to his or her charity.

It was announced Thursday that previous season winners including Joan Rivers, Piers Morgan, John Rich and Arsenio Hall will be appearing on the season as advisors to Trump.

Filming for the show begins Monday and the new season is set to air in March of 2013.

Things aren’t going too great for Dennis Rodman lately.

In recent weeks he’s gotten the ax from Celebrity Apprentice and been fined nearly a quarter-million dollars for slapping a Las Vegas waitress’ butt.

And now, in perhaps a concession to the fact that he needs to turn his life around, Rodman has agreed to seek regular counseling in an outpatient rehab program, E! Online reports.

Friends of the former NBA star, who was once briefly married to Carmen Electra and dated Madonna, attempted to get him into an inpatient program last week, to no avail.

“Yes, they tried an intervention, but unfortunately Dennis refused to go,” says Rodman’s rep. “We all know how amazing he is when sober and we hope he gets there soon.”

Rodman didn’t refuse the outpatient program purely out of stubbornness. He partly did so because he’s eager to attend the Celebrity Apprentice‘s reunion show, and his rep notes that Rodman “will be in New York City for the show’s finale next Sunday.”

Rodman may be there, but after all the havoc he caused during the season, the real question may be, will his former teammates and competitors let him in?

Bad news seems to be following Dennis Rodman like a storm cloud these days.

First the flamboyant former NBA star got the ax from this season of Celebrity Apprentice. And now he’ll have to pay out nearly a quarter-million dollars for getting a little too cheeky with a Las Vegas waitress.

TMZ reports that a federal judge in Las Vegas has ordered Rodman to pay $225,000 to Sara Robinson. Robinson had claimed that, in 2006, when she was working as a “beverage manager” at the no-longer-existent Cuba Libre bar at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a drunk Rodman slapped her butt without permission and tried to force her to dance with him.

In her suit, Robinson says she was completely humiliated in front of her coworkers and guests.

Of course, this isn’t the only time that Rodman has been accused of acting the jackass while over-imbibing.

Hopefully the financial setback will curtail his clubbing activities a little. It really does seem like he could use a time-out.

Joan Rivers called it an “intervention.” Whatever the heck it was, it made for darn compelling television, as Dennis Rodman was voted off of Celebrity Apprentice last night after his alcohol intake drew concern and frustration from his fellow participants.

“Dennis has obviously got a drinking problem,” team member Jesse James told a nationally televised audience at the final gathering of the celebrity contestants. While shocking to hear the words, a few members of the group shook the heads in agreement while teammate Brian McKnight said “oh ya”  when asked if he agreed.

And no one  — not even Rodman — disagreed.

“These guys are kind of blind,” Rodman said when asked to respond to the comments. But he never took the argument dead on.

It was hard to argue with the televised footage of Rodman during his team’s task of running a luxury hotel in NY.  The former basketball star made frequent stops to the kitchen/bar area to seek out vodka cranberry drinks and was shot carrying the drinks in many scenes.

Jesse James told Rodman that he took four drinks away from the star. Rodman listed this number at 15.

The star’s behavior become more erratic as the day went on:

• Rodman’s choice of conversation with a guest from Vancouver was an enthusiastic, one-sided discussion about Vancouver strip clubs.

•While serving as a guest-relation staffer, Rodman made comments about two attractive female guests from across the lobby, um, to the guests.

•Rodman became frustrated with his team and left the hotel to have dinner with two other guests. Not to return that evening.

•He returned the next morning to sleep on the couch in the lobby with his jacket slung over him.

The dramatic final confrontation was made all the more emotional since Jesse James is sober, telling the group. “I stopped drinking almost nine years ago.”

“I used to drink, I used to do it all,” James said. “I have walked in his shoes.”

As he was quickly fired by Donald Trump, Rodman gave a random comment before walking out.  “I can kick anybody’s ass at anything. Anybodys.”

With that, he exited, pushing away anyone who approached him at the end for a goodbye hug.

NBC officially unveiled its cast for the second season of Celebrity Apprentice today, and with her usual raw honesty, Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian—who’ll be going against such luminaries as Andrew Dice Clay, Tom Green and Dennis Rodman—has already issued a statement about what to expect from the upcoming season on her official Web site.

Here, presented in its entirety, is the 24-year-old’s assessment of the situation:

“You might have heard rumors, but now I’m finally I’m able to tell you guys that you’ll soon see me on Celebrity Apprentice. They announced the cast today which includes, Clint Black, Andrew Dice Clay, Tom Green, Scott Hamilton, Jesse James, Brian McKnight, Dennis Rodman, Herschel Walker, Joan and Melissa Rivers, Annie Duke, Natalie Gulbis, Claudia Jordan, Brande Roderick and Tionne Watkins.

“I’ve always been somewhat of an entrepreneur. I own my own clothing stores, as well as online stores, and I’ve been running them for a while. With each passing day, I find myself devoting more and more time to my businesses and that desire to throw myself into my work is only growing. Everyday I wake up and have to be at work and I definitely do consider myself a business woman, but that side of my personality has never really been brought to light.

“People assume my sisters and I party all night and sleep all day, which was why taking on the challenge of Celebrity Apprentice seemed like a perfect fit for me.  Plus…I’ve always wanted to see Donald Trump flip his wig…LOL.
