In today’s episode, fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg shares some of the secrets to her success, that can be applied to any industry.

First she splits up with her boyfriend, musician Jay Lyon, and now it looks like she may be moving on to greener pastures career-wise.

The New York Post reports that Port may be abandoning her job working for Diane von Furstenberg. A source says that Port’s arch-nemesis, Olivia Palermo, beat her out for a position as a publicist for von Furstenberg in London.

As a result, Port is said to be filming scenes for The City‘s second season at People’s Revolution, the public-relations firm she had worked for previously.

And by “it,” of course we mean MTV’s forthcoming Hills spinoff The City, starring Whitney Port. The series premieres December 29 at 10 p.m., following the airing of the first episode of Bromance.

Granted any hip-hop star with Kanye’s swagger fights off ten aspiring Giselles before breakfast, but the 31-year-old’s interest might go deeper than the common urge for a video-quality human ornament.

Reports today say that, after breaking off his engagement with 30-something model-turned-designer Alexis Phifer and an alleged canoodling with Victoria’s Secret beauty Selita Ebanks, 25, West is now smitten with up-and-coming 19-year-old catwalker Sessilee Lopez.

Lopez, who was featured in West’s Flashing Lights video, has walked runways for some of the most esteemed fashion houses. She recently made history as one of the covergirls for Italian Vouge‘s all-black model issue.

New York magazine observes, “Kanye is the fashionphile and Sessilee a rising runway star.”

Lopez has strutted for Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin and Whitney Port-boss Diane Von Furstenberg. And West has an inclination to post these kinds of pictorials on his official blog.

Agents for Lopez had no comment on a possible love connection for her and West.

This is not the unassuming blonde (seen here leaving a screening in New York) we met seasons and seasons ago, pining for a humble fashion career and spooning out dating advice.

This chick, now the star of her own show, is suited, booted and ready to steal the MTV Reality crown.

While The City is a ways away, Port is giving us a leading lady look: tight, trendy, authoritative. The well-heeled Port is traipsing around NYC armed with brands like Diane Von Furstenberg, a whole new pile of boy problems and the best possible springboard in the form of The Hills.
