Yesterday Diddy tweeted that he would be joining the cast of Downton Abbey. He was not. What he did do, though, was a Funny or Die Downton Abbey spoof.

In it, Diddy plays Lord Wilcott, the new owner of Downton Abbey. He has been inserted into various scenes from the show and the joke is that he doesn’t know how to pronounce the name of the house? Honestly we aren’t really sure which part of this is “funny.” Take a look for yourself.

Today’s buzziest stories online were Attorney General Eric Holder’s testimony on the Department of Justice’s subpoena of Associated Press phone records and the White House releasing emails relating to the attack in Benghazi. Just kidding, of course they weren’t. This is the internet so naturally everyone was talking about Diddy joining the cast of Downton Abbey.

The rumor was started by Diddy himself, who tweeted the following:

Downton Abbey has announced that the series’ fourth season will feature its first black cast member. But, like squares and rectangles, all Diddys are black people, but not all black people are Diddys. Diddy’s tweet was quickly denied by a “Masterpiece” representative at Boston’s PBS station WGBH who said, “very funny, but it’s simply not true.”

No matter what Diddy’s Twitter says, here are some other shows Diddy isn’t joining:

How I Met Your Mother

After eight long seasons, How I Met Your Mother finally revealed the titular mother of Josh Radnor‘s character’s children this week. But, no, it was not Diddy. It was Cristin Milioti, who previously starred in the Broadway show Once and was nominated for a Tony. Sorry, Diddy.

Sister, Sister

One of the earliest believers in Diddy’s fake announcement was Sister, Sister star Jackée Harry.

Making the Band: Danity Kane Reunion

It was announced this week that Danity Kane — which was created on the third season of Making the Band — will be reuniting soon. Diddy, however, wasn’t invited. “Who’s that,” was Aubrey O’Day‘s response when asked about the group’s former mentor.

Sorry, Diddy. Better luck next time.

Jennifer Lopez’s love life hasn’t exactly played out like a Nora Ephron movie, but it’s still hard to believe that she actually dated Diddy at one point in time in her life.

Lopez got with Diddy at the tail-end of the ’90s, back when he was known to his millions of fans as Puff Daddy. Their relationship fell apart shortly after a shootout at Club New York on Dec. 27, 1999, in which police found weapons inside their car. Diddy was arrested on possession charges and was later found not guilty.

Of course, they were also together for some high points, too — like the time J-Lo wore that Versace dress to the 2000 Grammys. Then there was this photo particular photo, taken at the ’99 MTV Video Music Awards, which pretty much sums up their entire relationship.

With an estimated net worth of $580 million, the 43-year-old trumps fellow hit makers like Jay-Z and 50 Cent thanks to his ownership in Bad Boy Records and other non-musical ventures such as his Sean Jean clothing label.

Diddy’s deal with Diageo’s Ciroc also entitles him to eight-figure annual payouts and a nine-figure windfall of the already-successful brand is ever sold.

Meanwhile, Jay comes in as the second richest hip-hop star. Mr. Beyonce Knowles is reportedly worth a still-impressive $475 million with his involvement in the Roc Nation music label, Rocawear and Live Nation megadeals and partnerships with Duracell and Bacardi’s D’ussé Cognac.

Still glowing with Oscar fever (thanks to Ben Affleck’s big win on Sunday), Jennifer Garner was spotted looking radiant as she picked up some coffee at Starbucks in Los Angeles. The couple’s third child, Samuel, turns one year old on Wednesday.

Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West’s date night was briefly interrupted by a close friend on Thursday, as the couple watched the New York Knicks face off against the Miami Heat in the Sunshine State.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was also on hand for the big game (unfortunately for Diddy, the Heat lost to the Knicks 92 to 112).

During a break, the trio exchanged handshakes and hugs — courtside — as fellow spectators snapped photos of the group.

Kardashian, 32, looked stylish in a white blouse and black pants, while her 35-year-old rapper beau rocked a white tee and black leather pants.

“Heat/Knicks game with my Fam,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote on Twitter Thursday night, along with a photo with pals Loren and J.R. Ridinger.

Kardashian was recently revealed as Yahoo!’s most-searched person of the year, with model Kate Upton and mom-to-be Kate Middleton rounding out the top three.

Only two other search terms topped Kardashian in 2012: “election” and “iPhone 5.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs was involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon.

A law enforcement source told TMZ a car turned left in front of the music mogul’s Escalade SUV, leading his driver to t-bone the oncoming vehicle.

While an ambulance was called to the scene, no one was taken to the hospital, according to the report. The law enforcement source added that everyone involved in the accident complained of pain, including Combs and his driver.

A report was taken, but no citations were issued.

Reps for the rapper-turned-actor were not available for comment at the time of this post.

Combs, 42, is set to guest star on FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Though there are few details surrounding the hip-hop mogul’s role, he began filming in mid-September.

The bash to be at Friday was the CAA Foundation & Grey Goose’s pre-Golden Globes party at Soho House in West Hollywood last night where guests sipped on Grey Goose cocktails overlooking the 360 view of Los Angeles. It’s been rumored that Cameron Diaz and Diddy have been seeing each other, and a source at the party says they definitely looked like a couple.

“They were kissing, and seemed very happy together,” an insider tells us. Another odd couple there… Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

So did the two interact?

While we’re told they weren’t attached at the hip or anything, the two we’re more than cordial to one another.

“Ashton actually was talking and hanging out with Rumer Wills for a while,” our insider says, adding that things didn’t look awkward. 

Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender held court with a bevy of women on the patio while Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom were seen chatting outside.

The huge crown went crazy as Puff hit the mic and sang “Mo Money Mo Problems.” Other celebs joining in to celebrate included Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees and Chippendales fame, Flo Rida, Christina Milian (who wore an Asymmetrical Bandeau Top by 1Sol Swimwear) and Akon.
