In it, Diddy plays Lord Wilcott, the new owner of Downton Abbey. He has been inserted into various scenes from the show and the joke is that he doesn’t know how to pronounce the name of the house? Honestly we aren’t really sure which part of this is “funny.” Take a look for yourself.

Just kidding, of course they weren’t. This is the internet so naturally everyone was talking about Diddy joining the cast of Downton Abbey.

The rumor was started by Diddy himself, who tweeted the following:

MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that Im a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i’ll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!

— Diddy (@iamdiddy) May 15, 2013

Downton Abbey has announced that the series’ fourth season will feature its first black cast member. But, like squares and rectangles, all Diddys are black people, but not all black people are Diddys. Diddy’s tweet was quickly denied by a “Masterpiece” representative at Boston’s PBS station WGBH who said, “very funny, but it’s simply not true.”

No matter what Diddy’s Twitter says, here are some other shows Diddy isn’t joining:

How I Met Your Mother

After eight long seasons, How I Met Your Mother finally revealed the titular mother of Josh Radnor‘s character’s children this week. But, no, it was not Diddy. It was Cristin Milioti, who previously starred in the Broadway show Once and was nominated for a Tony. Sorry, Diddy.

Sister, Sister

One of the earliest believers in Diddy’s fake announcement was Sister, Sister star Jackée Harry.

Yall Gon’ Learn Today: My Boothang, @iamdiddy, Is Now A Series Regular On #DowntonAbbey!

— Jackée Harry (@JackeeHarry) May 15, 2013

Wrong again, Jackée.

Diddy will also not be traveling back to 1999 to be revealed as the secret third sister to Tia and Tamara Mowry in the series finale of The WB classic. Sorry, Diddy.

Making the Band: Danity Kane Reunion

It was announced this week that Danity Kane — which was created on the third season of Making the Band — will be reuniting soon. Diddy, however, wasn’t invited. “Who’s that,” was Aubrey O’Day‘s response when asked about the group’s former mentor.

Sorry, Diddy. Better luck next time.

Absent, of course, will be Dan Stevens after that (can we say it now?) silly twist at the end of season 3. Gone, too, is Siobhan Finneran (aka O’Brien).

On the bright side: The show is adding a slew of new roles this season, played by actors like Tom Cullen (the cuter gay in Weekend) and Gary Carr, as Downton‘s first black character.

Oh yeah: Shirley MacLaine will be back, too.

“It’s my first time in LA. and it’s lovely to come and meet other Brits who are here and doing great things and showing me the ropes,” Carmichael, in a powder blue dress and matching shoes by Christopher Kane, told us on the red carpet.

Carmichael plays the oft down-and-out middle sister, Lady Edith, who was most recently left at the altar by Sir Anthony.

Fear not, though, for Edith has found herself possibly entering into another May-December relationship. This time with Michael Gregson, her editor at The Sketch. Edith confirmed to us that he will be around this season.

“She’s sort of found a voice for herself and someone is interested in her for that reason,” Carmichael told us of their bond.

And what about her penchant for older men? ”She’s loves it,” Carmichael said. ”Or is it that they love her?”

Cheeky girl!

Ok, on to an equally important topic: Fashion.

“It’s fantastic,” Carmichael said about the era that put drop-waists on the map. ”Season 4 we’re in the ‘20s, so I’ve got a lot of great costumes coming up.

“Edith is having s bit of a great time, really. She’s got a job as a writer in London, so she reflects some of the newer fashions.”

Everyone fancies themselves a bit of Downton style, so we wanted to know how the costume designers come up with such gorgeous pieces.

“All costumes are pretty much custom made,” Carmichael said. ”We look for originals and we’ll use if they’re in good enough shape. They’re 100 years old, so quite often we’ll use a bit of the fabric.

“I have one that we’ve nicknamed ‘Beadith’ because its covered in beads. It’s an original piece of beading. It’s beautiful.”

Shooting for the fourth season is currently underway.

If you’re anything like me, you can’t dine like the Dowager Countess, you can’t drink like the Dowager Countess and you most certainly can’t get away with talking like the Dowager Countess, but soon you’ll be able to dress like her.

The executive producer for unlikely international hit Downton Abbey Gareth Neame tells CNBC the show will soon be releasing a line of branded products including “fashion, apparel and homeware and furniture to wallpapers, beauty products and stationary.”

So what exactly does this mean? The characters on Downton Abbey lived in Edwardian England without the comforts of air conditioning and the internet. Modern Americans are brats, what could the cast of Downton possibly have to offer us that’s better than our Twitter feeds and skinny jeans?

As for fashion and apparel, the Washington Post has written about subtle ways in which the show has influenced fashion designers this year. Certainly formalwear accessories from the show like cravats, cufflinks or Martha’s elaborate headwear could be popular amongst fans, but good luck to the marketing company stuck with the task of convincing teen girls that corsets and hoop skirts are cool again. Homeware could be popular as well, eating Chinese takeout off Downton china sounds like a marvelous way to make a Tuesday night fancy.

It’s the beauty products that are concerning. Turn-of-the-century Brits weren’t necessarily known for their hygiene. What is the company imagining? Downton toothpaste made of salt and water? Lady Edith’s influenza death stench-masking posies? Just buy some Crest and Febreze and call it a day.

One product they aren’t suggesting that’s sure to be a winner: a Mr. Pamuk-branded line of bedroom accessories. Imagine the slogan, “the personal massager so good it causes cardiac arrest.” Now that’s sure to be a hit.

In other mashup news, there’s also the Mean Girls version of Mad Men: Mean Mad Men.

So for those of you east-coasters with lots of extra indoors time on your hands (or west-coasters, too, for that matter), we’ve compiled a list of the top 11 TV shows to catch up on in lieu of the upcoming Spring season.

Whether it’s a show you’ve been meaning to start watching, or a show you miss and want to re-watch, take a look at our list and indulge in the lack of eating, sleeping, or doing anything else kind of binge that is beginning a new TV series. If it’s one of the shows in our list, you’ll be glad you did!

1. Arrested Development. A tongue-in-cheek comedy that tried to gather its footing in mainstream TV. Based around the hilarity that is the dysfunctional Bluth family, the three-season long show had all the right material, but all the wrong publicity. After tepid ratings, the show got cancelled by FOX in 2006, much to the fans’ despair. However, after 6 years of silence, the cast (Jason Bateman and Michael Cera in their breakout roles) and creators reunited to announce the production of a fourth season to be released exclusively on Netflix in May, 2013. After watching the first three seasons, you’ll be itching for the fourth. And with all 52 episodes on Netflix, it only makes sense to start the show from the beginning in preparation for one of the most highly anticipated revivals of the season.
Commitment: 3 Seasons, 52 episodes, 22 Minutes each — Approximately 19 hours

2. Downton Abbey. This British show serves as the highest rated show to ever air on PBS, creating buzz all over the American TV world. With an explosive cast including Harry Potter‘s Maggie Smith, and awards being thrown at the show left and right, it’s been called “one of the best shows Britain has ever created.” The best and worst part about British shows is that they have short seasons. All three seasons are available to buy on itunes, which includes episodes that haven’t aired yet, here in America, giving us the entire British soap opera series at our fingertips — including this season’s striking finale.
Commitment: 3 Seasons, 25 episodes, 45-66 Minutes each – Approximately 20 hours.

3. Breaking Bad – It’s almost impossible to have a conversation these days about TV without mentioning AMC’s Breaking Bad. This show has been raved about from the day it first premiered back in 2008, catapulting its stars, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, into super-stardom. The show’s fifth season is returning in March, so now is the perfect time to catch up with TV’s hottest meth makers, fresh off of a successful Emmy season.
Commitment: 5 Seasons, 54 episodes, 47 minutes each – Approximately 42 hours

4. House of Cards. This is the first original series to be produced and aired exclusively on Netflix, meaning that it could be a hit or miss of a show. Critics and viewers agree that the show is a hit, and is fit to be aired on a more public platform. The all star cast, including Kevin Spacey, and the curiosity alone will make you want to watch. There is really no reason to not watch this show. The entire first season of 13 episodes is available on Netflix, and so far, the first season can’t be watched fast or often enough. There’s as much quality as there is quantity.
Commitment: 1 Season, 13 episodes, 45-60 minutes each – Approximately 13 Hours

5. Mad Men. When Mad Men premiered in 2007, it quickly became the frontrunner of a series of AMC hits. Set in the fascinating venue of 1960′s New York, this drama will get it’s hooks in you from the very beginning. With the first 4 seasons all available on Netflix, it’s easily accessible to get ready for the shows highly anticipated 5th season premiering in April. And if nothing else, the lead is played by Jon Hamm, who is either shirtless, or dressed to the nines in every episode. Enough said.
Commitment: 4 Seasons, 65 episodes, 46 minutes each – Approximately 50 hours

6. The Walking Dead. Everything about this show is unprecedented. AMC took a risk making a show with very short seasons revolving around a zombie apocalyptic world, but if the rave reviews and amazing ratings are any indication, it more than paid off. With all this talk of zombies these days, it’s exciting to get a well-written show giving all the worrying people out there a real take on the eternal question of “What if Zombies actually did take over the world?” Practically speaking, the show has only 2 short, but action-packed seasons all available on Netflix. Also, with Season 3 returning on Sunday, AMC is marathoning Season 2 and the already aired episodes of Season 3 on Saturday and Sunday — set your DVR! So, what are you waiting for?
Commitment: 2 Seasons and 8 Season 3 episodes, 27 episodes, 45-60 minutes each – Approximately 24 hours

7. The Wire. Set in the world of the underground drug trade in Baltimore, this gritty drama is still being raved about years after it went off the air. With a successful five-season run, adorned with awards and great reviews the whole way through, The Wire marked one of the first of many hits from the house of HBO. There isn’t a revival or a premiere coming up for this show. In fact, it came and went, airing the series finale in 2008. It’s just a powerful, unique show that everyone should watch. And if we’re still talking about it despite it being off the air for almost 6 years, that’s got to mean something, right?
Commitment: 5 Seasons – 60 episodes – 50-60 minutes each – Approximately 58 hours

8. Deadwood – Westerns are never out of style. And in the world of cowboys and bar brawls, it doesn’t get any better than Deadwood, South Dakota. This HBO series only got to entertain us for three seasons, but each episode packs enough punch (literally) that you won’t feel the least bit disappointed. Go back to your roots with American’s oldest of successful genres. Deadwood’s an American gem and it’s all accessible through HBOGo for subscribers and iTunes.
Commitment: 3 Seasons, 36 episodes, 55 minutes each – approximately 33 hours

9. Homeland. As one of Showtime‘s most successful dramas, Homeland is sure to be present in conversation, awards announcements, and on TV for years to come. Having just competed Season 2 and Season 3 returning in the fall, the plot will thicken just enough for you start counting the days until September. This political thriller just got Claire Danes her second Golden Globe of the season. It’s a product of our times and sometimes it hits too close to home. It’s on iTunes and, of course, the Showtime Anytime app.
Commitment: 2 seasons, 24 episodes, 50-60 minutes each – Approximately 22 hours

10. Game of Thrones. - This HBO series based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series, A Song of Fire and Ice, single-handely put fantasy shows back on the map. Since it’s premiere in 2011, the fictional kingdoms of Westeros and Essos that the show takes place in keep getting more and more intense. Think of it as Lord of the Rings meets The Young and the Restless. Garnering more and more fans every episode, this isn’t a show you want to fall behind in. Who doesn’t like a good (like, really really good) escape into fantasy from time to time? With the aired episodes all available on HBOGo and iTunes, there is plenty of time to catch up before Season 3 continues in March. Now, you have no excuse to not be in the loop!
Commitment: 2 Seasons, 20 episodes, 50-60 minutes each – approximately 19 hours

11. 30 Rock. The comedy series, created by Tina Fey, just came to a heartfelt close after a successful seven season run. The premise of a fictional TV show set inside 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City won six golden globes, and multiple primetime Emmy Awards because of its impeccable cast and writing. Comedy television at it’s finest. Plus thanks to our Eat Like Liz Lemon map, you can indulge in one in all the edible delights of one of TV’s most comedic characters. If you didn’t just watch the series finale, this is a good way to see what all the fuss was about for the last six years. Lucky for you, Seasons 1-6 are available on Netflix. And by the time you’ve completed those, Season 7 might just be available. If not, there’s always iTunes! Season pass, anyone?
Commitment: 7 Seasons, 138 episodes, 22 minutes each – approximately 50 hours

Which TV marathon are you starting first? What are your suggestions for other TV fans stuck inside for Storm Nemo?

On Saturday, Downton Abbey cast members Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Sophie McShera (Daisy), Amy Nuttal (Ethel) and Allen Leech (Tom Branson) hit the red carpet at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and found themselves in awe of the star-studded spectacle.

“Trying to be cool and not look star-struck is so hard,” Nuttal told Celebuzz, noting that she was excited to see Breaking Bad stars Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston.

“Jennifer Garner, I have a huge crush on her. Huge. She’s amazing.”

“Some of the Mad Men [too],” added McShera.

Leech, who let the ladies do most of the talking, made fun of his own silence on Sunday.

“You have to wear a dress to have a comment. Unfortunately, I left mine at home . . . I’m only kidding.”

What Leech did dish on was the upcoming Matthew Crawley-less season four. (Dan Stevens announced his exit late last year).

“We start back on the 11th of February. We read the first two scripts . . . very exciting,” said Leech.

No Mad Men? No Game of Thrones? Do you even recognize the Golden Globes Best TV Drama series category anymore? It’s a strange category to handicap this year.
How is that possible? Because Downton Abbey competed in the Mini-Series/TV Movie category last year. Jumping categories is a dangerous move, but if there’s one group of viewers as ardent as Homeland fans, it’s Downton Abbey fans.

So much so that creator Julian Fellowes said earlier this year that if he left, they wouldn’t recast the role. Well, UK viewers were still shocked to see just how Crawley exited the award-winning show. “We were always optioned for three years,” he explained. “And when that came up it was a very difficult decision. But it felt like a good time to take stock, to take a moment. From a personal point of view, I wanted a chance to do other things,” he said of the decision to leave. [The Telegraph]

Bravo announced on Wednesday that it will be making some schedule shifts on Sunday nights starting Jan. 6: The Real Housewives of Atlanta will begin airing at 8 PM followed by Shahs of Sunset at 9 PM.

Also, Lisa Vanderpump’s spinoff series, Vanderpump Rules, will debut as part of a two-hour The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Monday, Jan. 7 at 9 PM. Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Miami reunion specials will air this Thursday at 9 PM with Part 2 airing Thursday, Jan. 3 at 9 PM. The Millionaire Matchmaker returns for a new season on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 9 PM. Kathy Griffin returns with a new comedy special Kathy Griffin: Kennedie Center On-Hers on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 10 PM. Plus, a new season of her late night talker, Kathy, returns with a special live premiere on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 10 PM. [Bravo]

Fans of late Dallas legend Larry Hagman will get to see the man in a totally different role. CBS is airing a special called I Get That a Lot in which stars masquerade as normal people denying who they are when they’re recognized. Hagman played a salesman handing out barbeque sauce samples. The actor died in November. [TVGuide.com]

Just three months after leaving ABC’s General Hospital, Steve Burton has reportedly returned to the soap world on CBS’ The Young and the Restless. The unconfirmed casting certainly brings up some questions about the actor’s exit from the ABC series as he was cited as saying that he no longer wanted to work in Los Angeles, then moved his family to Nashville.
TV Ratings: The Grinch not only stole Christmas, but the animated and Jim Carrey versions of the Dr. Seuss tale along with NBA coverage gave ABC a boost in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. But, CBS won the night overall with repeats of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles in the ad demo attracting 8.12 million viewers.
ABC’s Castle hit a new series low Monday night without Dancing With the Stars as its lead in, garnering only 8.4 million total viewers and coming in third for the 10 o’clock hour. Its lead in of Extreme Makeover Home Edition averaged only 4.4 million viewers. NBC’s The Voice took top honors in total viewers (12 million) and in the ad-coveted demographic.
Hulu has launched a new show based upon Liz Tigelaar’s book, Pretty Tough. The series, starring Adelaide Kane, Crystal Young and 2 Broke Girls’ Beth Behrs, is about two sisters on the opposite side of popularity in the privileged word of Malibu. Pretty Tough is making its exclusive U.S. premiere on Hulu in a 5-episode format.
Downtown Abbey writer Julian Fellows says he has no plans to re-cast the role of Matthew Crawley on the fourth season of the British series. Dan Stevens, who plays Crawley on the show, hasn’t renewed his contract. The series starring Gossellar and Breckin Meyer as defense lawyers recently showed how the two characters first met on the second season.
The New Normal is getting some celebrity guest stars. Nicole Richie and George Takei will join the hit new NBC show as themselves according to show creator Ryan Murphy. No additional information is available regarding their plot lines. [EW]

What would happen on a Downton Abbey prequel?

It’s been reported that Downton Abbey writer Julian Fellowes will write a prequel to the hit British show. The prequel will follow how Earl and the Countess of Grantham first met. While Fellows seemed to be talking about a literary prequel, it is likely a TV or film adaptation would take place. However, Fellowes says any spin-off of Abbey would not be broadcast until the current series ends. [BBC]

Do you like Words with Friends? Yes? Well you can play the addictive game for a good cause by joining a celebrity team. In a project organized by Edward Norton, fans can pick a team and give their celebrity a chance to earn more money for their charity with each word they play. Celebrities participating in the event include Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce, actress Kristen Bell, and singer John Legend among others. [Zap2it]

American Horror Story: Asylum is adding a Breaking Bad alum. Emmy nominated actor Mark Margolis has been cast in a recurring role on the anthology show. Details are slim on his character but we do know his name, Sam Goodwin. In addition, Amy Farrington and David Chisum will play a couple on the show. American Horror Story returns on Oct. 17 on FX. [EW]

MTV has also announced a new documentary series entitled This is How I Made It. The half-hour show will focus on two celebrities per episode and document how they’ve got to where they are in their respective businesses. The show premieres with Awkward’s Ashley Rickards and rapper 2 Chainz. Other celebrities whose stories will be heard include Demi Lovato, Chris Brown, Naya Rivera and Gabby Douglas among others. The show premieres Saturday, Oct. 13 at 12 PM. [MTV]

This fall, Logo will explore interesting words and people when they start their new documentary series, WHAT!? Logo Documentaries. The series will premiere with Loving Large which focuses on people who love being on the large side or who love loving those who are overweight. Loving Large kicks off the series on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 10 PM.
Executive producer Gareth Neame revealed he had to walk to the ceremony after his limousine broke down on the way to the Nokia Theatre in Downtown L.A.

“Apart from my limo breaking down on the way here and having to walk, it’s been very, very good,” Neame said with some obvious relief having made it to the red carpet on time.

Last year the popular period drama TV series took home six gold statues and this year Smith – who plays the Countess of Grantham – was honored as best supporting drama actress.

“To see the recognition of our stars this year which wasn’t the same, we were less known last year and we won six Emmys,” he said. “It’s really raised the profile and in the space of a year it’s gone from a mini series hit to a big series hit in this country.

“The biggest shows in the world are recognized here so it’s very exciting for us to be here, we’re really thrilled.”

With the Emmys coming up this weekend, our senior TV editor Jethro Nededog and Access Hollywood correspondent Laura Saltman stopped by The Daily Buzz to discuss what they think will go down on TV’s biggest night.

Who will win Best Comedy? Best Drama? What do we think about host Jimmy Kimmel?

Both Nededog and Saltman agree that there’s no contest: Modern Family will take comedy’s top prize on Sunday Night. Also nominated for the distinguished award are The Big Bang Theory, Veep, Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and 30 Rock.

Saltman adds, “I know a lot of the critics really love Girls but it’s a first year comedy and not a lot of people have seen it yet it’s got a lot of buzz but it’s just not there yet.”

As for Best Drama, Saltman thinks it will be a battle of the AMC giants, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. If Mad Men takes the award it will be the fifth time the drama has won the coveted trophy.

In addition to these AMC shows, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire are nominated.

Nededog thinks we should be on the lookout for Showtime’s Homeland. The high-paced drama, starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis was a critical favorite last season.

“It’s just so tightly scripted and well-acted,” says Nededog of the contender.

As for host Jimmy Kimmel, both of our experts are looking forward to seeing his reportedly huge prank.

Watch the clip above to hear this and more including our experts take on Kelsey Grammer and his comments about not being nominated.

If you’re an Emmy voter this year, drama is what happens when men jockey for power — and when women try to prove they can compete on the same testosterone-spattered battleground.

It’s worth noting that the list of nominees for Best Drama Series is almost the same as the list of Best Actors in a Drama Series; only Game of Thrones is represented on the former list but not the latter (where Dexter star Michael C. Hall has taken advantage of the power vacuum in Westeros.) Thrones aside, the Drama Series category is driven by actors who did such a good job playing intense and crafty warriors that they were nominated for statuettes themselves.

Here’s how we see this macho struggle shaking out at the podium on Sunday night, Sept. 23.

Mad Men: The Emmys have been a four-martini banquet for the admen (and women) of Sterling Cooper Draper <del>Pryce</del>. The 1960s-set drama has won this prize all four years it’s been eligible. A fifth prize would set a record. It’s possible that the Emmy voters will decide it’s finally time for fresh blood, but coming into the race, Mad Men owns this category. Emmy chances: Very good.

Homeland: If anyone can knock Mad Men off its pedestal, it’s this upstart, whose first season drew huge raves and pleased fans of both 24-style action and cerebral drama. Even President Obama has given it a thumbs-up. You’d think if he had time to watch it, Emmy voters would too, but the Showtime show has the same disadvantage that marks any drama on a premium cable channel that’s not named HBO. It’s a lot easier to catch up with the ubiquitous, basic-cable Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Emmy Chances: Good.

Breaking Bad: It doesn’t hurt that Bryan Cranston is the frontrunner in the Lead Actor race. Still, the meth-dealing drama has been nominated for Best Series twice without winning, suggesting that voters don’t appreciate the show in its entirety as much as just Cranston’s performance in it. The series is certainly tough medicine, but it’s also the favorite of TV critics and had a particularly strong season this past year. Emmy Chances: Decent.

Boardwalk Empire: Among Mad Men’s rivals for this prize, only Boardwalk and Thrones are repeat nominees from last year. That gives them both a little momentum. Still, Boardwalk may suffer from the impression among critics that, while it’s a beautifully mounted period piece that offers fascinating characters and arresting dramatic moments of shocking gangland violence, it doesn’t have much to say about any of the things that happen. It’s as if the show’s dark charisma is supposed to be its own reward. Which it will be on Emmy night. Emmy Chances: Weak.

Game of Thrones: Like so many of this year’s nominees, Thrones is truly beloved by its cult of fans while being ignored by the public at large. (Notice that not one show on this list airs on a major ad-supported broadcast network.) Things that make Thrones particularly culty are its complicated plotting, its numerous characters and rival families that viewers must keep track of, and its extreme sex and violence. TV Academy members who haven’t watched the whole series are likely to have trouble following along if they try to vote based on just one or two episodes. Merely getting nominated will have to be prize enough. Emmy Chances: Poor.

Downton Abbey: The PBS period piece won in the Mini-Series category last year. Guess if they keep making new episodes, it’s not a mini-series anymore, just a series, so now it has to compete with the broad-shouldered brawlers in this category. Downton did come into its own this year as a pop culture phenomenon in America, and Emmy voters’ Anglophilia (if it’s classy and British, it’s got to be good) may help some. But otherwise, this show is as overmatched as a croquet player going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive line. Emmy Chances: Doubtful.

For the new Emmys Preview issue of TV Guide, the comedian and late night talk show host hilariously transformed himself into the Dowager Countess of Downton Abbey, Emilia Clarke’s Khalessi from Game of Thrones, Mad Men’s Don Draper and meth man Walter White from Breaking Bad.

“Now I know why they need a butler to help them with their clothes in Downton Abbey,” Kimmel, 44, says. “As for Khaleesi – I look more like a member of Poison than Khaleesi. I do feel like Walter White. I kinda look like him. It’s amazing what a little glue and hair from some unidentified animal will do.”

In the magazine, Kimmel also talks about hosting the big show, his new time slot and his unlikely inspiration of Oprah Winfrey. So what is the comedian’s goal for the Emmys?

“I know it’s a miserable show to sit through if you’re in the audience and sometimes it can be miserable to sit through if you’re at home,” he admitted. “My goal is to make the show funny from beginning to end. I’m going to do as much as I can to make that happen.”

Not only is Kimmel taking on hosting duties this year but his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, is also up for its first nomination in Original Variety Series.

The ABC late night show is about to make a big jump to the coveted 11:35 PM time slot in January pitting him against Jay Leno and David Letterman in the ratings game. Kimmel tells the magazine, “I’m honored to even be on against him [Letterman].”

The host also mentions he’d love to host the Academy Awards but really enjoys the post-Oscar special that the show does each year. This year, superstar Oprah Winfrey took part in the special, which was a huge deal for the funny man.

“We built The Man Show as the anti-Oprah show. I never thought she would do [Jimmy Kimmel Live], and I certainly didn’t think she would do it with so much enthusiasm,” he revealed. “Know most people who were fans of The Man Show will probably be horrified to hear this, but honestly, Oprah is an inspiring person.”

To read Kimmel’s entire interview head on over to TVGuide.com and pick up the issue on newsstands.

The Emmys air live on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 7 PM EST/4 PM PST on ABC.

The 2012 Emmy Nominees were announced July 19, and shocker — AMC’s Mad Men has been snubbed despite its trend-setting costume designs.

Instead the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences decided the English series, Downton Abbey, has more stand out apparel to ooh and ah over.

But which series has created more fashion buzz around town?

The influence of Mad Men, featuring the handsome Jon Hamm and busty Christina Hendricks in the sixties’ advertising-centric world, has spread like wildfire throughout the fashion community.

Celebs love their 60s-inspired pieces — some faves being dresses that cinch at the waist, cropped pants, shrunken cardigans. Social media sites such as Pinterest have pages purely devoted to the seductive style.

And retail power houses, including The Gap and cosmetics brand Estee Lauder, have launched limited-edition collections reflecting the retro look.

Based in the early 1900s, about the years leading up to World War I, Downton Abbey is progressively making a name for itself, as well.

A-listers Vanessa Hudgens and Jessica Simpson have both been spotted in their wide brim hats, similar to the historic Brit style of the PBS series.

Legendary designer, Ralph Lauren, even played the Downton Abbey soundtrack in the background of his fall runway show.
