Though everyone is surely excited to see the Lord of the Rings cast together again, this movie boasts a lot of new faces. Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, and Cate Blanchett return as Legolas, Frodo, and Galadriel, but their parts are very small. Also expect to see the infamous villain Gollum (Andy Serkis) making an appearance. 

Baggins is played by Martin Freeman (The Office) while other characters include: Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), Oakenshield’s dwarf warriors, and, of course, Gandalf the Grey (Sir Ian McKellan).

“Is Frodo here today?” the host and Saturday Night Live writer Mike O’Brien inquires. Mike explains jokingly that he got the screenplay for The Hobbit (the prequel to Lord of the Rings) in advance and would love for Elijah to read as his beloved character Frodo. Elijah agrees! Check out the video to see the Wilfred star reading the silly script! “I found this ring that makes you invisible! Cripes, what a day,” he recites. 

Elijah continues: 

“Everyone shut the [explicative] up. There’s hobbits in that tree. On the count of three, lets blast them to hobbit hell!”

While there were signings and venues to attend throughout the weekend, the three-day A&C Centre presented by Nintendo event was the place to be!

Chris Evans made an appearance, sitting down to do some gaming on Nintendo 3DS. While Chris plays a super hero on the big screen in his new Flick Captain America, it’s interesting that this Boston native shared at the Nintendo gaming area that he was never allowed to play video games as a kid.

As you can imagine, he sat tight and gamed for a good amount of time — playing the new “Legend of Zelda” game. This stud didn’t let us down: Not only is he hot, but people were speaking about how super friendly and extremely down to earth the star was.

Chris wasn’t the only hollywood A-Lister who showed up.

Adam Brody walked through the gifting suite and got himself some fresh new cologne by Connected Kenneth Cole Reaction. Guests and celebs alike enjoyed treats from the Limitless Café and gushed over pictures of Limitless front man Bradley Cooper that were perfectly ornamented all over the café. Monster energy drink also provided some beverages to quench everyone’s thirst throughout the hot summer weekend in San Diego.

Other celebrities in attendance included Vivica A. Fox, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, Elijah Wood and Seth Green.

Although Comic-Con pays tribute to all the comic books and ‘nerdy’ gaming, it was most definitely a star-studded weekend thanks to the new movie Captain America, upcoming Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and other highly anticipated big screen debuts.

The series follows a man, played by Elijah Wood, who sees his dog Wilfred as a man in a dog suit, but to the rest of the world, Wilfred is just a regular canine. Celebuzz had the honor of interviewing the talented actor, who spoke about filming this series, doing comedy and about filming The Hobbit!

Tell us a little bit about your character.
I play the character by the name of Ryan, who we find out in the first episode is suicidal and attempts suicide which he fails. We then kind of find the character at a time in his life where he has reached a wall. He isn’t necessarily depressed he basically had taken a path he was never meant to take and that his family always wanted him to take and ultimately out of the ashes of that crisis he meets Wilfred. Wilfred then becomes the person who comes to advise him… for better or for worse.

What is it about Wilfred that attracted you to this series?
I am attracted to its uniqueness. It was the funniest thing I have ever read or seen on television.

What was it like doing comedy?
Great fun, great fun! Everyday we got to work with some incredible scripts. Our writers were extraordinary everyday was truly a joy to go on these ridiculous journeys with these characters.

What was one of your favorite moments from filming Wilfred?
There was a scene in the fifth episode where Wilfred and Ryan are standing on top of a roof and it’s raining. We then have an intense argument and it is so heightened and ridiculous. It was late at night when we filmed it and we had an absolute blast.

Currently you are filming The Hobbit. Will we see any familiar faces from the original cast of the Lord of The Rings and how has it been thus far?
Yeah, I am going down to New Zealand in October! I am very much looking forward to this and can’t wait to revisit it. McKellen is down there, Orlando Bloom is coming back, Cate Blanchett and quite a few of others will be back as well. Can’t wait!

His co-stars Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan effectively turned the tables on Boyd’s former character, this time supporting him as he made sure a ring founds its proper place – on McKinnon’s finger.

He, currently filming “The Romantics” in New York.  She, of the hit new show….hang on.  This sounds familiar.  Ok.  OK! Magazine is now reporting that Dianna’s feeding Elijah yougurt on the film set. OK! may have an insider on the film set, but we have a deep insider knowledge of all things humping, and, nobody is currently humping Elijah Wood.

Verdict: Just flirting

» RIHANNA and THAT DUDE FROM THE NEW 90210

Yep, him. He pretends to be in high school. She pretends she can sing. This is a match made in media Heaven. Still, I’m sensing a “divert attention from Chris Brown and show that Rihanna’s moving on with her love life with a cute and seemingly sweet boy this time” public relations strategy here.

Verdict: Maybe some light texting for appearances.

Speaking of fashion, Rosario looked awesome in a high-waisted shorts ensemble. Then again, Rosario looks hot no matter what she’s (not) wearing.

Warm-weather hotties like Hilary Duff, Mario Lopez and Molly Sims are contractually obligated to keep those tushies, biceps and pecs firm, lest a role call for an impromptu bikini scene.
