The 65-year-old music legend was hospitalized after reportedly suffering a “serious respiratory infection.” Elton apparently fell ill during a performance at the The Colosseum in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, the “Tiny Dancer” singer’s rep tells Celebuzz that “he’s out of hospital,” and checked into Cedars-Sinai Wednesday morning only to be released that night.

Will the shows go on?

Doctors (according to Us Weekly) have advised that Elton cancel his concerts so that he will have a full recovery.

“Those tests resulted in the attending physician recommending that Elton not perform any concerts for approximately seven days with complete rest and antibiotic treatment to cure his respiratory infection and prevent any damage,” his rep told the website.

Elton added in a statement, “It feels strange not to be able to perform these “Million Dollar Piano” concerts at The Colosseum.”

After getting a personal call from Sir Elton himself, she was asked to open up for his Scotland concert at The Falkirk Stadium coming up in June. Her R&B and jazz vibe showcase her deep and soulful signature voice that caught his attention. Sitting down with the young stylish singer we asked about her musical stardom, music influence’s and her unique and fashion forward style!

How did your music career start?

It kind of started by chance really, I’ve sung all my life. When I was younger, like 5, I wanted to be a pop star as you all do when you are younger. Ever since then, it kind of stuck with me. My dad is a jazz pianist and I was brought up with music all my life.

How did the opportunity to open up for Elton John come about?

At Christmas time, I was doing a breakfast one morning. David Furnish, Elton John’s partner, was having breakfast and I thought, this is the one shot, when are you ever going to  be in the same room again? I was like, I have to do something! I went up to the room to get paper and an envelope, wrote a quick note and put my demo inside it.  We went up to him and I didn’t expect anything from him, because of the amount of people who probably go up to him. The next day we were going through the San Francisco airport and my phone rings. We were going through security, believe it or not. It was just like, ‘oh this is Sir Elton John’ and I was like oh. I was trying to explain to him that we were going through security and the guys were like turn off your phone. I explained to him after we got through and then my phone died.  [Later], I finally got to speak to him. He [said] I’ve let my whole band listen to your songs, I love your music you’ve got a brilliant signature and this brilliant soul especially from a 13-year-old — and I couldn’t believe it! We spoke to him and he’s like, would you like to sing with me when I’m in Scotland? So I’ve just been working really hard towards the gig and in Scotland and it’s just great and surreal.

How are you preparing for the show coming up?

I’m halfway through recording my debut album. I’ve done about 11 songs and I’ve got 16. I’m doing that and obviously rehearsing really hard because practice makes perfect. I’m worked hardest on that and just practice, practice, practice.

Has Elton given you and personal advice?

I haven’t met Elton, only his partner, but I feel as if I have because I have talked to him on the phone so much. He has always said to me not to rush, there is no rush. That you just go with it and take your time, there is no rush. Go with it and don’t give up because this is what I want to do. If it takes me one year, five years, 10 years, I’m going to stick with it. I just want to stick with it and see where it takes me at the moment because I’m still young I’ve got time, but fingers crossed.

Being that you are so young, what other things would you like to accomplish?

Singing really is my thing. I’d really like to write my own songs, and I think that really is my goal because at the moment I am just doing lyrics. I’ve just started piano because Elton said to take it up. I’m still working and I hope that one day I can be as great as him.

You’re also a fashionista, how do you define your style?

My style is quirky, edgy, fun. I open up a magazine and see Chanel runways there and then we put our take on it. My sister helps me style as well, she’s more into fashion than me so she mostly styles all my outfits. We do it together, but I have to give credit to her.

What are your style must haves?

I do love my rings, this one, my Tallia Storm ring. I love these! These are from Bonnie Bling, a little shop in Scotland. They are handmade and I think I always wear these, so I think these are my things I must have.

Dressed in just a hat, black vest and slacks, the hunky actor, 31, and Elton, 67, were having a great time booty dancing together. The photos say it all! 

Elton was not the only celeb to get his hands on Channing last night. 

The Vow star’s wife Jenna Dewan also hit the stage with her hubby for a special, sexy dance. Jenna, 31, tweeted backstage prior to their performance, writing:

Lady Gaga is the godmother to Elton John‘s newborn son, while Elton is actually the godfather to the Beckham boys. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal is godfather to Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger‘s daughter Matilda Rose.

The little roly-poly was dressed in baby blue with a little sail boat on his bib. This baby is surrounded by a lot of love and a lot of musical influence with Elton being his father and Lady Gaga being his Godmother! He explained his choice to appoint the outlandish pop star to have such a big part in his son’s life when he sat down with Barbara Walters back in April.

He said of Gaga:

“Zachary’s going to inherit an incredible musical legacy from his father one day, and she will be a good person to guide him through the ins and outs of the music business, because she sure knows everything about the business now.”

In addition to explaining why he chose Gaga, Elton has also revealed why he chose the name Zachary for his son. He told Us Magazine: 

“A friend gave us a book of baby names, and we started to flick through it, but we have always loved the name Zachary and kept coming back to it. In the end, we looked at each other, and put the book back on shelf, and said, ‘This is it!’”

The track is on the Glee star’s solo album and is a mash-up of Elton’s hits “Mona Lisa And Mad Hatters” and “Rocket Man.”  Ryan only posted a snippet of the song, but the track can be bought starting April 19 on Amazon. But a solo album and a hit show aren’t all Matthew has in the works…

 The singing star has been making some hilarious videos for Funny or Die and revealed on his Twitter this weekend that he has another one in the works. He wrote: “@funnyordie Shoot day #2. having a blast. thanks to all my friends for participating.”

Earlier this month, he shot a Funny or Die vid with Glee co-star Jane Lynch where they were carpool buddies. While it might have seemed like a good idea at first, the results are somewhat of a (hilarious) disaster! Matthew’s smooth voice might make the ladies who watch Glee swoon, but Jane just isn’t feeling it, critiquing his vocal stylings by saying he sounds like he just swallowed a pair of jazz hands.

Elton John dropped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night and when the conversation turned to how everyone from Dave Grohl to SNL alum Victoria Jackson have bashed the hit show, Elton let loose with one of his signature snark bombs: “Lighten up, you a–holes” he said.

“It’s a compliment when someone records or does one of your songs. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bad version, it’s just a compliment, so I’ve never lost that thrill,” John said.

He went on to single out one band in particular: “Kings of Leon, lighten up guys. Come on.”

The Kings of Leon had a particularly nasty battle with the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, following their diss of the show. The two camps went back and forth in a snippy Twitter and quote war, while recently SNL actress Victoria Jackson bashed the show’s homosexual relationships.

The general public often looks to celebrities for tips on life, so it’s only fitting that celebrities who have used surrogates to bear their children have helped reduce the stigma surrounding the process.

One major organization behind the PSAs is ’The Trevor Project’. Started by James Lecesne, and Peggy Rajski The Trevor Project provides a 24-hour hotline for any person contemplating suicide, and the message: “It Gets Better”. Another organization is ‘We Give A Damn’, who organization urges people to sign the petition and join the effort about raising awareness about the issue. Their most recent PSA features Elton John, Ricky Martin, Wanda Sykes and more. To join the fight go to <www.wegiveadamn.org>.

In addition to these PSA’s, other celebrities have chosen to speak out on their own. Among these are, Tim Gunn, Nicki Minaj, Kesha, and Lady Gaga who most recently spoke out against the military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy. They all feel strongly about the issue and have taken time out of promoting their careers to speak out and try to raise awareness. In an interview with MTV News Minaj said,

“I would encourage my gay fans to be fighters and to be brave” 

And as the latest personality to come forth about the issue, Gunn said,

“I understand the desperation. I understand the despair,and I understand how isolated you can feel … It will get better. I promise.”

First the Emmys host channeled Bruce Springsteen for the awards ceremony’s opening number. Then Fallon aped not one, but three musical acts during a paean to beloved but fallen series that, alas, won’t be returning next season.

The Pantless One gave it her all for the environment at New York’s Carnegie Hall on Thursday night, pitching in for Sting‘s annual concert for The Rainforest Fund. Interestingly, the most eyebrow-raising aspect of GaGa’s performance was the choice of songs; the “Bad Romance” chanteuse belted out the Journey chestnut “Don’t Stop Believin’” with Elton John, Sting, Shirley Bassey and Bruce Springsteen, and also took to the piano stool for a poignant rendition of the Ben E. King classic “Stand by Me.”
