There has been a lot of great style hitting the Cannes red carpet this year, and some of the looks have been downright sexy. That’s why we’re rounding up the 10 sexiest looks from Cannes… so far.

The film festival is basically fashion prom for celebs, and when ladies like Dita Von Teese and Doutzen Kroes are hangin’ around town, you know you’re gonna get some hot outfits. This year’s event has been underway for almost a week and we’re already drooling over plethora of seductive style coming out of the French Riviera.

The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival officially got underway this past Wednesday and things are already heating up at the ultra-glam festival. Let’s round-up the highlights–shall we? Here are 5 things that went down at Cannes this past week:

1. The Great Gatsby got the party started. The film got the coveted Opening Ceremony premiere spot and kicked everything off in style.

2. Speaking of… Carey Mulligan schooled everyone on the art of the festival red carpet. Her Cannes choices have seriously been on point thus far.

3. Sofia Coppola‘s much anticipated Emma Watson vehicle, The Bling Ring, made it’s debut. The early reviews are in and they’re mixed, but on the positive side.

4. Quelle horreur! A million-dollar jewelry heist went down. Super pricy designer jewelry from Chopard was stolen from a company employee’s room at the Novotel Cannes Montfleury Hotel.

5. Gunshots were heard and jury member Christoph Waltz was rushed off stage. According to The Hollywood Reporter, panic ensued when gunfire was heard before a broadcast of the entertainment program, Le Grand Journal. Everyone is safe, the shots were blanks, and a suspect has been apprehended.

6. Cindy Crawford is 47 and she’s still smokin’ hot.

The Bluths are back!

New York City was treated to a pair of familiar faces at one of the Arrested Development promotional frozen banana stands this week. On Thursday, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett stopped by the Times Square post to hand out frozen bananas to dozens of lucky fans.

The day before, Bateman took to Twitter to express his excitement for the appearance.

“Perfect weather for banana grabbing, lunch time in Times Square tomorrow. Arnett loves a good banana and nuts in the middle of the day,” he wrote.

The show’s entire fourth season will premiere on Netflix on May 26. 

Elsewhere on the wonderful world of Twitter, Emma Watson and her green tongue (it’s temporary) confessed that she had some Nerds candy before doing some red carpet interviews at the Cannes Film Festival.

Britney Spears celebrated 13 years since the release of Oops!…I Did It Again, Solange Knowles learned a fashion lesson about double stick tape and Paris Hilton expressed her admiration for Angelina Jolie after the Oscar winning actress revealed she had a preventative double mascetomy.

I have some good news, and I have some bad news. The good news is that it’s Friday! The bad news is that we have to wait until Monday for another Caption Contest. From everyday errands to red carpet events, the stars have been keeping busy in the last 24 hours.

Brad Pitt stepped out in Los Angeles wearing head-to-toe black as he headed to a meeting. The 49-year-old actor recently spoke out about his longtime partner and fiance Angelina Jolie’s preventative double mastectomy.

“Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus . . . this is a happy day for our family,” Pitt told London’s Evening Standard.

Elsewhere on the west coast, Rob Kardashian went for a hike in Culver City while his sister Kendall Jenner stopped at a gas station to fill up her Range Rover.

Up north, Bethenny Frankel celebrated Skinnygirl Cocktails’ new “girls” — mojito and white cherry vodka — at the “Summer Styling Like a Lady” event in Toronto.

In Cannes sightings, Emma Watson arrived in style for a photocall for The Bling Ring, Eva Longoria and Liv Tyler touched down at Nice Airport (separately) and Isla Fisher flew from Paris to London after the star-studded Cannes premiere of The Great Gatsby.

Emma Watson graced the Cannes red carpet in a flawless black and white look for the big premiere of The Bling Ring last night, joined by director Sofia Coppola and her co-stars, Claire Julien, Taissa Fariga, Katie Chang, and Israel Broussard.

The Bling Ring follows the story of a group of LA teens who got caught burglarizing celeb homes. It’s one of the most highly anticipated Cannes debuts, so we were pretty eager to see what the critics were buzzing about after viewing Sofia Coppola’s latest.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Todd McCarthy was feelin’ the film’s “dreamy” visuals, but thought the message got lost:

Perhaps even more here than in her other films, Coppola’s attitude toward her subject seems equivocal, uncertain; there is perhaps a smidgen of social commentary, but she seems far too at home in the world she depicts to offer a rewarding critique of it. At the same time, she’s too unemphatic a filmmaker to deliver what could be construed as an exposé from the belly of the beast. It’s more like a teasing, mildly titillating pulling-down-the-covers off some naughty but hardly grave adolescent behavior.

Variety’s Scott Foundas compared the Bling Ring characters to the bad girls of Spring Breakers:

Indeed, while some may liken the pic’s characters to the masked marauders of both “Spring Breakers” and Michael Bay’s recent “Pain & Gain,” Coppola’s markedly less violent offenders don’t seek wealth so much as notoriety — a goal that has rarely seemed more attainable than in this age of Warholian decadence, where being famous for being famous is more desirable than being famous for anything else. So “The Bling Ring” traces an intriguing feedback loop of which it is knowingly a part: a movie that affords its subjects the very immortality they so aggressively sought.

Entertainment Weekly’s Owen Gleiberman called the film “Sofia Coppola’s most provocative work yet” and praised the performances:

The acting is so authentic that it takes a while to differentiate the girls, and that’s part of the film’s texture, too: its unsensational look at sensational (if trivial) crimes. Katie Chang gives Rebecca a coolly synthetic sensual glow, and Emma Watson, playing Nicki, a real mean girl, does a remarkable job of demonstrating that glassy-eyed insensitivity doesn’t have to be stupid. Wearing a brown shag that transforms her into a look-alike of the young Marilyn Chambers, Watson proves that her willingness to take chances is only growing, and that she’s an actress serious enough to turn a line like “Your butt looks awesome!” into something that reveals character.

Overall, the reviews are mixed, leaning towards the good side. Are you looking forward to seeing The Bling Ring?

Emma Watson may be all grown up, but being a sex symbol certainly isn’t her ultimate goal.

Appearing without bottoms on the cover of W Magazine‘s June/July issue, the former Harry Potter star tells the fashion glossy that it was never in her mind to be a sexy star.

“I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast. I wanted to wear a sports bra until I was 22!” she says. “The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me.”

“I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.”

Though the 23-year-old recently appeared in British GQ sporting what some considers the epitome of sexiness, Julia Roberts‘ famous Pretty Woman getup, Watson says she’s still uncomfortable with all the barely-there costumes she has to wear for her adult roles now.

Case in point: her latest movie, Sofia Coppola‘s The Bling Ring.

“Who wouldn’t love to go to work in Uggs and very low-slung tracksuit bottoms?” the star says her Alexis Neiers-inspired Pretty Wild attire. “At one point I told the costumer designer, ‘You can see my bra strap in this top; shouldn’t we pin it?’ And she said, ‘No, sweetie — Nicki is all about her bra strap showing.’ I was like, Right, okay, different mind-set.”

Cannes officially kicks off tomorrow and the stars are already arriving in France for the big film festival.

Kristen Stewart, who’s notorious for swapping high heels for a pair of Converse at Hollywood events, has been named Glamour magazine’s best dressed woman for the second year in a row.

The publication’s “50 Best Dressed Women” issue, which will hit newstands this June, praises Stewart for her “personal rock-chick style.”

The 23-year-old actress also takes home the honor of being one half of what the publication dubs the best dressed couple — as her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, has been given the title of the best dressed man of the year.

The Twilight star beats out Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson and royal mom-to-be Kate Middleton — who came in second and third respectively — for the coveted title.

Meet the new side of Emma Watson.

In the new trailer for her upcoming movie, The Bling Ring, the Harry Potter starlet is taking on a child child persona as she smokes a joint, robs a house and generally wrecks havoc on the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, the flick centers around a series of actual events where a group of teenagers broke into celebrities’ Hollywood mansion to steal their belongings.

Watson’s role is loosely based on Pretty Wild star Alexis Neiers, who was sentenced to 180 days in county jail with three years’ probation for first degree residential burglary of Orlando Bloom‘s home.

“The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral,” Watson said of her character in an interview with British GQ. “She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be.

“I knew it would be a really uncomfortable thing to do, but I felt… I had to dive into something really different,” she added. “This has been a really big departure for me; it’s a really big character. That’s so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting.”

The movie is due out in theaters June 14.

No magic involved here: Hermione — err,  Emma Watson — is growing up right before our eyes.

It’s still hard to believe that the Harry Potter star, who is celebrating her 23rd birthday today, is putting her childhood image behind her.

Don’t believe us? Well, you won’t want to miss this just-released clip from her new movie The Bling Ring, in which she shows off her newfound ability to pole dance (Don’t worry, though; the scene is said to be a short one.)

Emma Watson has reinvented herself from a child actress to a full-fledged movie star — and what better way than to channel one of the most iconic movie characters of all time.

In a fashion nod to Julia Roberts‘ beloved on-screen persona Vivian in Pretty Woman, the 22-year-old actress — who’s taking on a racy, sexy new role in the new crime drama movie, The Bling Ring – turns up the heat (and reveals some skin) in a new photo shoot for the April issue of British GQ.

In preparation for the film’s release in June, Watson graced the cover as her Bling Ring character, Nicki. Complete with fake tattoos, hair extensions, and that tight cut-out dress (that bares an uncanny resemblance to that infamous frock worn by Roberts in the 1990 hit), critics are calling the GQ spread Watson’s “sexiest shoot yet.”

The true silver screen story centers around a group of headline-making Hollywood teens who burglarized celeb homes in 2010 — a crime spree fueled by their obsession with Hollywood.

“When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it,” Watson said in the mag.

The stunning Brit was also eager to embrace the challenge of taking on a role that’s not only completely opposite from herself, but worlds apart from her previous on-screen characters.

“The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral,” Watson said. “She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. Should “Buckwild” Be Cancelled?

Following the tragic death of one of the star’s of the show, there have been calls for MTV to cancel the reality show, FOX News reports.

It’s a steamy CW showdown over which heartthrob will land the lead role in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Both Ian Somerhalder and Stephen Amell have coyly admitted to being in talks for the role of the sexually-domineering Christian Grey.

On Thursday, the 31-year-old Arrow star admitted to fans on his Facebook that he’s “had a meeting” with Fifty Shades execs. “I get questions about Christian Grey all the time,” Amell said.

“I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not that close. I wouldn’t call it long, but I wouldn’t call it close.”

But, it looks like Amell hasn’t been cast just yet.

On March 14, The Vampire Diaries stud Somerhalder kept his cards close to the vest on an appearance of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

The 34-year-old actor refused to confirm or deny reports that he’s auditioned for the role but told Bravo’s Andy Cohen:

“I can’t say anything other than it is a very interesting story and whoever gets that role is going to have a very fun rehearsal time.”

While the lead role is still up in the air, the book’s heroine Anastasia Steele is still up for grabs as well.

Harry Potter’s Emma Watson sarcastically lashed out after reports alleged she was signed to play Miss Steele.

The former Harry Potter actress his baring her bod in the James Houston‘s “Natural Beauty” book, stripping down for the photo project benefiting Global Green USA.

Drenched in water, the 22-year-old shows off her sensual side as she poses in nothing but a flower lei.

With the Oscars well over and the summer blockbusters still several long months away, there’s only one thing that can get movie lovers through this quiet season: trailers.

This week, Hangover fans got a first look at the franchise’s third and final film, which takes Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and company back to Las Vegas. Marvel and Disney also treated everyone to the Iron Man 3 theatrical trailer (finally). Both films are scheduled for a May release.

Much Ado About Nothing (June 7; limited)
No, your eyes haven’t deceived you — this film is really directed by Joss Whedon. Starring Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathon Fillon and a slew of others, Much Ado About Nothing is based on William Shakespeare’s comedy of the same name.

After Earth(June 7)
Will and Jaden Smith reunite on screen as father and son in the new M. Night Shyamalan sci-fi After Earth.

What Maisie Knew (May; limited)
Since premiering at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, What Maisie Knew star Onata Aprile has been getting rave reviews for her portrayal of a young girl caught between her parents and their respective new partners. Alexander Skarsgard, Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan also star in this picture based on Henry James’ classic 1897 novel of the same name.
