Monday night’s 2012 Met Gala, is not only known to New Yorker’s as the Oscars of the East Coast, but it’s one of the best and biggest nights in fashion.

MTV News’ Christina Garibaldi and Celebuzz producer Rachel Maresca sat down to discuss the good, the bad and the bold from the red carpet.

Who glammed it up, and who fell short on their fashion choice?

Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev, 23, who was a first timer at Met Gala, stunned in her black and gold Donna Karan Atelier gown that surely turned heads with her sexy back revealed and a dramatic train.

“It was absolutely stunning,” Rachel Maresca said of the style. “The train, you couldn’t keep your eyes off her train.”

Christina added, “It looked like somebody spray painted all the gold on it. She looked absolutely stunning,”

Unfortunately not every fashionista came out on top.

Eva Mendes, 38, got the color right but the embellishment very wrong. “It was a great Spring, [month of] May color. It was orange, it popped,” Rachel quipped. “But the top, whatever those accessories were, it was too much.”

Sorry ladies (and gentleman) — Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are still together. Despite alleged reports that the couple had split, the two looked very much together when they were spotted by a fan this week at WTF Bar in Bangkok, Thailand. The two enjoyed a few drinks, as they chatted with another couple.

The split rumors started after the Daily Mail reported that Ryan, 31, flew to Cape Town with a German model. But his rep insists he hasn’t left Bangkok for the past six weeks while shooting the film Only God Forgives, and he’s been with Eva the entire time.

Last week, Ryan was spotted on set looking rugged and sexy as he shot scenes at a local market for a few hours outside downtown Bangkok.

So what is this new movie about? The movie description reads: “A Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match.”

Ryan Gosling is hard at work shooting his latest film Only God Forgives in Thailand, and his girlfriend Eva Mendes was seen paying a visit to her man. Photogs caught an insanely buff-looking Ryan in between filming, while Eva was off doing a bit of sight-seeing while he worked.

So, what’s Ryan’s new movie all about?

According to IMDB:

“A Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match.”

It should hit theaters sometime this year.

We guess this is why the 31-year-old Canadian actor has become such a beefcake! Just another reason to love him!

Being the girlfriend and costar of one of the sexiest men alive isn’t a bad place to be. Eva Mendes chatted with Marie Claire about shooting scenes in A Place Beyond the Pines with her real-life beau Ryan Gosling, but steered clear of talking about their personal relationship. Amid a series of sexy shots and candid quotes, the actress, 37, told the magazine:

“[Ryan's] your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film.”

Despite being one of the hottest women and Hollywood and dating the man of our dreams, Eva does admit that even she has body image issues. “I realize I have contributed to a certain happy, healthy, empowered image, but that’s not all of me. I feel it’s important to let women know that I have similar struggles. … When I am complimented on things that I didn’t like when I was 13, like my overbite and my mole, that’s when you realize that your imperfections are why people love you.”

So who are some women that the flawless Eva admires? She tells Marie Claire that The Kids Are All Right stars Julianne Moore and Annette Bening are her role models. “I have a girl crush on them. I’d kill to have half the careers they’ve had after 40.”

Fashion on the Fly! Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes Make Way Through Airports (PHOTOS)

After meeting the mom, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were coincidentally both spotted at New York and Los Angeles airports.

The new couple were both bundled up in their most stylish outerwear as they headed to the West Coast … separately. Eva wore a pair of blue-tinted sunglasses, a fur hat, scarf and black coat as she made her way through LAX. Meanwhile, RyGos, 31, was spotted at both LAX and JFK airports wearing a brown jacket, jeans, super-cool shades and accessorizing with a huge magazine to shield his beautiful face from cameras.

Gosling is a double Golden Globe nominee so he will be back in Los Angeles for the awards show on January 15.

Wrapping up their whirlwind romantic getaway, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were spotted together at the airport in Paris on Sunday. Just as what we’ve witnessed this past weekend, RyGos and Eva remained inseparable as they walked hand-in-hand to catch their flight. The couple was seen laughing and smiling as Ryan held onto his sweetheart.

So what did these lovebirds do in the City of Love?

Gosling and Mendes’ vacay started off with a sightseeing tour on Saturday. Like a scene out of a Jean-Luc Godard movie, Ryan and Eva looked absolutely smitten with one another as they strolled along the lush Parisian landscape. The Place Beyond the Pines co-stars also stopped by the Pere Lachaise Cemetery where Gosling snapped a couple of pics on his iPhone.

For their last night in Paris, RyGos and Eva had a romantic dinner at the Jules Verne Restaurant located in the famous attraction. The couple looked positively smitten with one another as they strolled along the Parisian streets. At one point, Ryan even presented his gal pal with a red rose.

With a great sense of humor, enticing baby blues and a killer body, Ryan Gosling has the right skillset to get any girl off and on screen. The 30-year-old actor has never lacked chemistry with any of his silver screen leading ladies (even if they happen to be a doll!).

The latest actress to get lucky and star opposite Ryan is Evan Rachel Wood! The former flame of shock rocker Marilyn Manson will heat up the big screen with Gosling in the political drama The Ides of March, hitting theaters Oct. 7. Sometimes RyGos’ charm is so bewitching that his co-stars just can’t help but fall in love with the guy behind the character. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes continue to fuel rumors that they are in fact an item with these pics of them at Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles, Calif. this past week.

The two were seen dressed nearly identical in navy blue as they hiked down from the observatory. However, unlike the pics of them cuddled up at Disneyland, Eva and Ryan were not touching on their hike. RyGos carried a book while Eva held her purse.

This relationship rumor comes after the two started filming The Place Beyond the Pines.
