Evelyn Lozada is taking her fashion sense from the street to the catwalk: she’s debuting her new dress collection during London Fashion Week on Feb. 20.

And if fans know anything about the Basketball Wives star, it’s that her signature style is built around eye-catching maxi dresses. Now, she’s created some looks for others — and Celebuzz has the exclusive design sketches.

The line, appropriately dubbed Vida Luxe, is sure to take after the fiesty Latina herself.

“It’s very feminine and flowy and will fit all body types,” Lozada told us. “It’s just so much fun. Lots of colors and patterns.”

Lozada first thought of adding “designer” to her resume after fans commented on her sexy looks for Basketball Wives.

“So many women were like, ‘Where do you go to buy your dresses?’” said Lozada, who teamed up with rapper Bow Wow’s mom, Teresa Caldwell, on the line. ”We got together and she sketched out my ideas and we talked about every detail from fabric to color to hardware. After she drew out everything and put it together, I was blown away.”

So who’s the first lady she’d like to dress? Hint: she’s one of Lozada’s good pals — and no stranger to style.

“Rihanna will be my first target! I love her,” Lozada said. “She’s very edgy and she will try anything.”

But you don’t have to be a pop star to afford these dresses.

“It will be anywhere from $100,” said Lozada, who divorced NFL star Chad Johnson after a domestic violence incident last year. “I believe that you don’t have to have millions of dollars to look fabulous. You can have something affordable, and just make it look like a million bucks.”

And the new clothing line isn’t the only part of Lozada’s design career.

“I would eventually love to incorporate denim, because every woman loves wearing denim,” she said. “And feminine sweatsuits that women love to wear to travel. So I’ll eventually have a full line.”

In the meantime, London better batten down the hatches. Said the star: “I wanted to do something big, and I thought that launching this overseas would have a great affect on the line. I figured ‘go big or go home!’”

Evelyn Lozada may not have stood by her man, but she’s definitely standing by her woman.

The reality star is coming to the defense of her friend Rihanna since the “Stay” singer made it official that she’s back together with controversial ex Chris Brown, the man who infamously and brutally assaulted her in 2009.

“Their incident happened years ago and he’s [Chris] been though a lot because of it as well. And if he’s changed and gotten the help that he was supposed to get, I don’t see anything wrong with it,” Lozada told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview.

And Lozada knows all too well what it’s like to be involved in a violent relationship.

The Basketball Wives star filed for divorce last September from husband, former football player Chad Johnson, after just 41 days of marriage when he was arrested and charged with battery for hitting her and leaving her with serious head injuries.

But even though her romance ended with her being single again, she says she won’t judge Rihanna for sticking with Brown through thick and thin.

“I feel like if it works for you, then great. If he’s gotten help and changed then even better,” she said.

“That’s her life and I feel like that’s another reason why I love and respect Rihanna.

“She doesn’t fall into what she thinks that she do for the people. She lives her life,” she added. “It’s hard to do that when so many people have an opinion. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. Nobody knew that I was dealing with this.

“I hope he’s [Chris] changed and he respects her and loves her and obviously will never go down that path again. I think he’s learned his lesson.”

She also says the public has the wrong perception of the hit R&B maker.

“The misconceptions are that she’s just this wild and crazy because that’s all people get to see. But I’ve been with her behind closed doors. She’s amazing,” Lozada said.

“I mean, this is the same person I see hug and kiss her cleaning lady. She’s loving and super super sweet and amazing to me and my daughter,” she added. “I think people put so much pressure being a role model and that’s a lot of pressure when you’re just trying to live your life.”

Still, she does have some advice for Rihanna, should red flags resurface.

“You know the signs and if you see him regressing you know that look in the eye when things go a little left here. My advice would be, ‘Hey, if you see the sign you immediately leave.’”

Rihanna, 24, confirmed her reconciliation with Brown, 23, last month in Rolling Stone after months of speculation and mysterious tweets and Instagram photos of the twosome.

And she has no regrets about giving the R&B star a second chance. 

“I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that,” she told the mag. “Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

Although Lozada and Johnson aren’t on speaking terms at the moment, and won’t be getting back together, the 37-year-old mother still holds out hope that, like Brown and Rihanna, they can at least be friends.

Someday, anyway.

“I truly believe people can change,” Lozada said, who’s turned her negative into a positive by channeling her future into a new clothing line and as the face of a new campaign for youthH20.

“I don’t have any ill will toward him. I’m not bitter. And I do truly believe that one day we’ll be able to be friends, just not right now.”

Although her previous trip down the aisle lasted a mere 41 days, Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada tells Celebuzz she “absolutely” wants to have another go at marriage.

“I still want to be a mother, I still want to have other children, I still want to get married and have a family,” Lozada told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. “Only this time, instead of me choosing, I’m going to allow God to choose whomever for me.”

In the meantime, Lozada — who divorced pro football player Chad Johnson last year after he allegedly head-butted her during an argument — isn’t asking for too much in her next love adventure.

“I just want a good guy. A family man who wants kids,” the reality TV star, who has a 19-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, added. “I don’t want five kids, but one or twins would be great.”

So is she ready to find ‘the one?’

“I’m starting to get to a place where I entertain the idea. I still think it’s too soon, but I’m open to it,” she said.

Lozada also insists she’s in a “good place” right now — and for good reason. Not only is she filming the fifth season of Basketball Wives, she also just became the new face the age-defying energy drink, youthH20, available in Vitamin Shoppes nationwide. As for her former relationship with Johnson, Lozada admits she’s still trying to heal.

“We don’t communicate at all,” she said. “We’re not at that point. Both of us are doing a whole lot of healing and soul searching and working on ourselves. I know I am and I hear that he is as well.

“We still do love each other. We were in a tough relationship and at times toxic. It’s still every emotional for the both of us,” she added.

Things aren’t always what they seem.

Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada took to her blog to clarify her relationship status with ex-husband Chad Ochocinco after photos surfaced of the two holding hands.

Lozada explained that the photo was taken during a “process of blessing the food” at a “fan appreciation dinner” for the former NFL star and was blown out of proportion.

“I care for Chad, we are friends and we love one another,” she said.

“However, we are still separated, not living under the same roof and working on ourselves because we have a long way to go.”

Lozada went on to say that both she and Ochocinco “are attending therapy separately” and are actively “trying to figure out how to work on our individual selves and navigate through this entire ordeal.”

The two wed on the Fourth of July and a little over a month later, on Aug. 11, Ochocinco was arrested on a domestic battery charge for allegedly assaulting Lozada during a heated argument.

Three days later, she filed for divorce claiming that her marriage was “irretrievably broken.” The divorce was finalized on Sept. 19.

Ochocinco pled no contest to misdemeanor domestic battery, and avoided jail time after reaching an agreement with Lozada and the judge. As part of his deal, he agreed to take anger management classes.

The Basketball Wives star recently received tons of inquiries on Twitter about her abs after she posted a photo of super toned bod, and now Lozada is revealing the secrets to her washboard stomach to Celebuzz.

1. Side Planks
This exercise challenges my stability and improves core strength by working the muscles along the side of my body. The great thing about side planks is that they are spine friendly.

How To Do It:
Lie on your left side, raising yourself onto your left forearm. Place your left shoulder directly above your left elbow, keeping your shoulders, hips and knees in alignment. Rest your right arm along the side of your body. Pull your belly button in towards your spine and tighten your abdominal muscles. Hold for three deep breaths and repeat on your right side.

2. Ball Roll Out
I love working with the exercise ball, plus, there is little risk of back injury with this excercise. For all of you new moms out there, the ball roll out will help realign and strengthen your spine after giving birth!

How To Do It:
Kneel and place the ball directly in front of you. Rest your forearms on top of the ball. Inhale to prepare. As you exhale, contract your abdominal muscles and roll the ball forward. Your arms will extend as you do this, and your feet will come off the floor. Roll as far forward as possible without rounding your back or hunching your shoulders. Make sure that your butt comes with you. In other words, your hips should not still be over your heels.

3. Bicycle Crunches
This is definitely old school, but did you know that bicycle crunches caused the abs to tense the most and is twice as effective as the normal crunch abs?  During this exercise, it’s imperative that you slow down the bike crunch and focus more on your breathing and abs.  This makes the exercise more of a challenge and you will get better results!

How To Do It:
Fully extend out one leg, while the other is bent and you touch your opposite elbow to the bent leg as if you are twisting.  Repeat with the other side without taking a rest or dropping your torso back down.  The entire time, your upper body should be in a crunch position. This will be tough, but you can do it!  Let’s go!

Last month, Lozada filed for divorce from the NFL star after a violent altercation left a laceration on her face. The reality star claimed her short marriage was irretrievably broken after the incident, which reportedly started as an argument over a condom receipt she found in his car.

Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery of Lozada on Wednesday. Shortly after, he signed off on Lozada’s divorce documents in a Florida court.

What’s next for Lozada and Johnson?

Since the domestic violence incident, Lozada appeared on Nightline and filmed an upcoming segment on the premiere of OWN’s show Iyanla’s Fix My Life. 

As for Johnson, he tattooed Lozada’s face on his leg, with the intention of reconciling with her. However, Lozada’s rep told Celebuzz that the reality star just wants to move on with her life.

“Evelyn is very happy that [Chad] signed the divorce papers and is ready to move on with her life and put this behind her once and for all,” her rep said.

In the fallout from the alleged attack, the newlyweds’ reality show Eve & Ocho was cancelled, and Johnson was dropped from the Miami Dolphins.

Why was the former football player charged?

This comes after his estranged wife Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada was allegedly head-butted by her husband of 41 days during a domestic violence dispute in early August.

Lozada had reportedly questioned the football player after discovering a receipt for condoms. Ochocinco was swiftly arrested, and the fallout began: the couple’s reality show Eve & Ocho was soon canceled and Ochocinco was fired from the Miami Dolphins.

Evelyn later filed for divorce, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

Since then, Johnson had reportedly refused to sign divorce papers and even showed his extreme devotion to his soon-to-be ex by tattooing her face on his leg.

Even the reality star’s mother Silvia Ferrer told Celebuzz the marriage is “done”.

“I don’t think they’re going to get back together at all,” Ferrer told us. “It’s done. There’s no way she would ever go back to an abusive partner.”

Lozada admitted on Nightline that she still loves her husband “more than anything,” but says she is “afraid” of him and believes he “needs to get help.”

“It’s the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love,” Lozada said in the segment. ”But, you have to walk away because I have to protect myself.”

Less than two weeks after her husband Chad Ochocinco (AKA Chad Johnson) allegedly head-butted her during an argument, Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada, is finally breaking her silence about the emotional night in a new interview with Nightline.

In the interview, which airs Friday at 11:35 PM on ABC, Lozada admits that she still loves her husband “more than anything,” but says she is “afraid” of him and believes he “needs to get help.”

“It’s the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love,” Lozada says in the segment.”But, you have to walk away because I have to protect myself.”

The VH1 reality star, who filed for divorce from Johnson following a domestic dispute (after just 41 days of marriage), breaks her silence about the night they argued and says she will not get back together with Johnson — even though there is still love between them.

“I believe he loves me. I believe he needs to get help,” she says. “He’s a good guy that made a bad choice. He loves football and he’s very driven and a great dad. He made a bad choice that destroyed his life, and I hate that I’m connected to that,” she explains.

Lozada’s mom Silvia Ferrer echoed her daughter’s sentiments, telling Celebuzz exclusively that there’s no chance her daughter and son-in-law will reconcile.

“I don’t think they’re going to get back together at all,” Ferrer told us.“It’s done. There’s no way she would ever go back to an abusive partner.”

According to Nightline, on Aug. 11, Lozada was taking groceries out of a car that Ochocinco used to drive to football practice when she said she found a bag in the backseat with a toothbrush holder and a Walgreens receipt for a box of condoms inside. The receipt was dated July 20 — three weeks after they were married.

When Johnson came home later that evening, Lozada decided to confront him. She got in his car, asked him about the receipt and threatened to leave him.

“And then the next thing I know he grabbed me by here [pointing to her head] and he head-butted me,” Lozada tells Nightline. “I felt blood coming down my face… and I looked at him and I said, ‘You just head-butted me?’ And it just — everything just felt if it was in slow motion.”

Lozada says she didn’t recognize Johnson during the incident. “He was gone to me, like, it wasn’t him,” she says. “He got out of the car, really, really quick and ran into the house, and I said to myself, ‘I need to get out of here,’” she explains.

That’s when Lozada ran to a neighbor’s house and hid. When her neighbor came home, they called the police. She then went to the hospital where she said she received six stitches on her forehead. That evening, Johnson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

And just two days later, Evelyn decided she’d had enough and filed for divorce from Johnson.

“I said to myself, ‘I’m never going to go through that again, ever,’” she says. “I don’t think any woman should ever have to feel like that or be fearful of her husband.”

“A lot of people only judge her from what they see on TV. They don’t know her. You can’t judge her. She never would have married him if she had known he was abusive.”

Ferrer, however, has no ill-will for her son-in-law.

“I hope he will redeem himself,” she said. “Deep inside, he’s not a bad guy. He lost control and lost his temper. But you don’t abuse women who are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters. He has to pay the consequences.”

The athlete seems to be answering to the statement released by his wife of six weeks this morning. The Basketball Wives star accused him of not taking responsibility for his actions and making false accusations about her.

During the altercation over the weekend, Johnson allegedly head-butted his wife after an argument that began after she claimed she found a receipt for condoms in his car.

Lozada said, “It is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles.” She filed for divorce in Florida later on Tuesday.

VH1 filmed the couple’s preparations and wedding for the reality show, Ev & Ocho, which was pulled by the network on Monday after the abuse allegations.

Lozada’s stepfather told Celebuzz that she’s returning to New York on Tuesday to attend the funeral for her brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa.

He passed away on Monday from complications of Cancer. Married to Lozada’s sister, Sylvia, Ochoa was very close to the star and has appeared on Basketball Wives several times. He also walked the bride down the aisle during the couple’s wedding.

It’s been a bad week so far for Lozada, whose brother-in-law also passed away after a long battle with cancer. And according to Ortega, she will be in New York City tonight to be with her family for the funeral services on Thursday or Friday.

“The situation is not great. We just lost our son-in-law and he gave (Evelyn) away at her wedding,” Ortega said. “There’s chaos in the whole family.”

The troubled pair have four children between them from other relationships — Jicyra, Chad Johnson II, Chade, and Cha’iel.

This news comes just hours after Lozada released an official statement regarding the weekend’s incident, saying “It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday.”

“I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions,” she continues. “And made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles.”

Adding, “Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

Married just 6 weeks ago, the pair had an altercation over the weekend when Johnson headbutted his wife after an argument which began when she claimed to find a receipt for condoms in his car.

The couple’s preparations and wedding were recorded and set to air on VH1 reality show, Ev & Ocho, which has since been pulled  by the network on Monday after the abuse allegations.

This week hasn’t been the best for the Basketball Wives star who is also grieving her brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa, who passed away on Monday from complications of Cancer. Ochoa was married to Lozada’s sister, Sylvia, and was very close to the star. Having appeared on Basketball Wives several times, he was also set to appear in Ev & Ocho, walking the bride down the aisle during the couple’s wedding.

Marriage may not be what Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada and Dancing With the Stars alum and footballer Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson thought it would be as reports came in over the weekend of an alleged domestic assault and VH1 is pulling away from their upcoming reality series, Ev & Ocho.

“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev & Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it,” the network said in a statement on Monday.

The series was originally slated to premiere on September 3. It would document the couple preparing for their wedding, including a two-part finale episode focusing on the nuptials themselves.

As reported by Celebuzz, Johnson was arrested on Saturday after reportedly headbutting Lozada during a heated argument on the way home from dinner.

Johnson was also cut from the Miami Dolphins following the incident. The NFL wide receiver most recently played for the New England Patriots. Ever the tweeter, his timeline has been quiet since the weekend’s events.

Lozada and Johnson were married on July 4 in St. Martin after an engagement which began in 2010. Johnson proposed to Lozada just fourth months after he met the Basketball Wives star on twitter with a massive 10-carat rock.

Dancing With the Stars alum Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was arrested for domestic violence Saturday after he reportedly head-butted new wife Evelyn Lozada.

While driving home from dinner in Davie, Fla., the football player, 34, got into a heated argument with the Basketball Wives actress, in which he struck her in the forehead, reports the NFL Network.

According to Police Capt. Dale Engle, the fight started when Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the car and confronted her new husband. Lozada was treated at the scene for a “pretty good-sized” laceration and was later was taken to the hospital.

As for Ochocinco?

Johnson’s bond was set for $2,500 on Sunday, his lawyer told the Sun Sentinel. He was released Sunday morning.

As Celebuzz previously reported, the couple were married on the Fourth of July. They have four children: Jicyra, Chad II, Chade, Cha’iel and Lozada’s daughter, Shaniece.

The couple are currently filming their reality show Ev & Ocho forVH1.

Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada and Dancing With the Stars alum, football player Chad Ochocinco, created some fireworks of their own on Wednesday with a Fourth of July wedding.

The groom basically tweeted the entire event. “Using twitter as a diversion to keep me from getting nervous,” Ochocinco, 34, writes.

The reality stars were married in St. Martin – not in Miami as People originally reported. According to Ochocinco’s tweets, Lozada changed at least four times during the event.

Who attended the destination wedding?

Among the guests, were two women named “Cheryl.” Cheryl Burke, Ochocinco’s DWTS partner and Franklin, Ohio resident Cheryl Minton. Minton’s luck changed after telling Ochocinco on Twitter that she was feeling low after losing her husband just two weeks prior. In response, he invited her to the wedding. Aw.

Celebrity wedding planner Diann Valentine carried out the destination wedding. Valentine’s clients include Nas, Kelis, Usher and Toni Braxton.

A VH1 spokesperson confirms to Celebuzz that its cameras were there to shoot the nuptials for the couples’ upcoming reality series, Ev & Ocho, which premieres in September.

The couple was engaged in 2010. The new family will include Ochocinco’s four children, Jicyra, Chad II, Chade, Cha’iel and Lozada’s daughter, Shaniece.
