The hunky 40-year-old actor recently suited up for GQ (on stands now), where he showed off a number of good looks – not to mention his own.

Among the looks he modeled were suits by Calvin Klein and, in photos released Tuesday to Celebuzz, Simon Spurr and Gucci. Classy, indeed.

]]> This Friday, December 3 will mark a momentous clash at the box office, an unprecedented event that will draw a lasting line in the sand: Do moviegoers prefer to see man-on-man kisses or girl-on-girl?

That’s the question being asked by Hollywood this weekend in the shadow of I Love You Phillip Morris and Black Swan, both out Friday and both featuring highly publicized same-sex hookups between their lead actors.

Jim Carrey spoke jokingly to Parade about his emotions surrounding kissing on-screen lover Ewan McGregor for Phillip Morris: ”A dream come true. I mean, look at the guy. I have to say, he is a great kisser. As Ewan said, ‘When you’re kissing another guy it can get a little prickly.’ Actually, you had to put out of your mind your own sexual preference and just try to understand that you were loving another person who just happens to be a guy. It wasn’t about male or female, love is love.”

Although originally meant for release in 2009, the film’s date was postponed several times by distributers because of uncertainty about how American audiences would react to the gay aspects of the film. Ultimately, it was re-edited to remove the more explicit content.

Black Swan takes the same-sex mingling a step further with a full-on sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. In a separate interview with Parade, Kunis revealed what filming the scene was like: “We knew it was going to attract attention. We were just hoping that people would walk away after seeing the movie not just isolating in their memory that scene when we have sex. I think it’s important to the story. It wasn’t done for shock value, but we weren’t looking forward to it.”

Both were royally knighted yesterday by the King of France, or maybe some other guy, not the king, not sure there is a king, but somebody very important. It’s France. Tres importante.

Carrey and McGregor are in France to promote their new film, I Love You Phillip Morris, the story of a con man who falls in love with his prison cell mate and makes plans for the two lovers to escape their confines.

The Men Who Stare at Goats—starring George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges—details the true but strange efforts of the U.S. military to develop mind-control and “psychic spying” techniques (such as killing goats by staring at them).

McGregor plays a reporter in Iraq who stumbles upon a special-forces agent (Clooney) involved in the mind-control program.

At which point, of course, zaniness ensues.

Defamer reports that 37-year-old Big Fish star McGregor may have fired his publicist, Stephen Huvane, 38, at last week’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The deal supposedly went down following the screening after-party of McGregor’s latest effort, I Love You, Phillip Morris. The film stars Ewan and Jim Carrey as star-crossed lovers who meet in prison. The boyfriends run into all manner of humorous and poignant obstacles to taking their affection to the outside world.

Rumor has it that McGregor canned Huvane at the airport.

Ouch; as if air travel hasn’t become enough of a headache these days.

The New York Post reports that Huvane hasn’t responded to phone calls or e-mails about the alleged sacking. Even if McGregor did dump him, Huvane isn’t too broken up. A publicist for the PR powerhouse PMK-HBH, he also represents Uma Thurman and Jennifer Aniston, among others.

Just confirming or denying rumors about Aniston’s love life is enough to keep him busy.   

I Love You, Phillip Morris is the true story of con man Steven Russell, played by Carrey, who winds up in jail and falls in love with fellow prisoner Phillip Morris (McGregor). Steven winds up providing a high-end lifestyle for Morris by secretly passing himself off as a lawyer and CFO.

In real life, Russell is still serving a life sentence in Texas. Once Morris was released, Russell escaped prison four times rather than be separated from his love.

But, let’s cut to the chase—what did Jim Carrey, 47, think of locking lips with McGregor, 37?

“A dream come true. I mean, look at the guy,” the Yes Man star told the AP, after the film’s premiere.

“The most outlandish things in the movie are the true things,” director Glenn Ficarra said at a separate screening attended by the Times.

“We had to make up the mundane parts… The hot pants escape was absolutely real.“

Hmmm. Hot pants escaping? Sounds more like “The Lady GaGa Story.”

With no U.S. release date set, I Love You, Phillip Morris is expected to be in theaters sometime before the summer. 

Carrey’s current film, Yes Man, has grossed $93.5 million so far at the U.S. box office.
