Is Quentin Tarantino circling a gangland epic as his next film? Fans of the TV show Friday Night Lights are going to have to take a knee if what Coach Taylor says about the prospective new movie is true. While promoting his new film, Zero Dark Thirty, Kyle Chandler said that, despite reports to the contrary, he is neither involved in any plans to bring the NBC series to the big screen, nor wants to be. “My general attitude about Friday Night Lights is, it was a great movie with Billy Bob [Thornton]. It was a great TV show,” Chandler said. “But they ended [the show] at exactly the right time, and exactly the right way as well.” The actor went on to say that he has yet to see a script for the film, or have any contact with director Peter Berg regarding the project. Thursday’s release of an announcement trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness is just the beginning. On December 14, Paramount Pictures will present the first 9-minutes of the film attached to IMAX prints of Warner Bros.’ The Hobbit. Mitt Romney has reappropriated Friday Night Lights football team’s famous mantra, “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose,” in his election-time campaign ads, debates and speeches — and the the series’ leading lady isn’t to thrilled about it.

Connie Britton — who starred as Tami Taylor in the heart-warming high-school drama — is slamming the Republican presidential nominee’s use of the beloved battle cry in a USA Today op-ed she penned with the show’s executive producer, Sarah Aubrey.

“The show wasn’t just about football,” the pair maintained of the Friday Night Lights, which chronicled a high-school football team in the hard-working, middle-class town of Dillon, Texas. “And ‘Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose’ wasn’t just about winning games.”

“Rather, it was a rallying cry of hope and optimism in a community where everyone had a fair shot — no matter their background, no matter their parents, no matter their gender,” they continued. “And no matter their politics. So it has been surprising that the phrase has been usurped and co-opted by Mitt Romney and his campaign for their gain.”

Taking issue with Romney’s record on women’s issues, Britton — who currently stars in Nashville — and Aubrey point out the female characters of Friday Night Lights wouldn’t support the GOP candidate’s proposed policies.

“The women we represented on the show — the women we are in real life — are like the millions of women across the nation,” they wrote. “Women who want to make our own health care decisions. Women who want to earn equal pay for the work we do. Women who want affordable health care.”

“Romney actually wants to…get rid of Planned Parenthood — the health care provider that nearly three million Americans rely on for their life-saving cancer screenings, well-woman visits and affordable birth control,” they noted. “Planned Parenthood was well represented on the show, too — Brian “Smash” Williams’ mom worked there, Tami got a pregnancy test there, and, after being abandoned by her parents, Becky Sproles was able to get a safe and legal abortion there.”

President Barack Obama, on the other hand, “has shown his values to be more closely aligned with those represented by the phrase,” Britton and Aubrey wrote. “The first measure he signed into law after becoming president was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act — so a female high school counselor or physical education teacher can fight for equal pay for equal work.” (Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, voted against the act).

“And President Obama’s landmark Affordable Care Act has been transformative for women,” they noted. “For the first time in our lives, being a woman is no longer a pre-existing condition — our insurers can’t charge us more for having breast cancer or being the victim of domestic violence.”

Urging women to consider all that’s on the line, Britton and Aubrey call on women to take a stand “Let’s take ‘Clear Eyes, Full Hearts’ back and use it as it was always intended — as a motivator for progress, power, and greatness,” they wrote. “Let’s use our clear eyes and full hearts to vote early…. If we women make ourselves aware of the issues and make our voices heard, we most certainly cannot lose.”

Matt Lauria and Parenthood co-star Mae Whitman were getting hot, heavy and wet on the beach Wednesday while filming scenes for the NBC show.

The former Friday Night Lights star was seen in nothing except his underwear as he frolicked in the ocean with Whitman, who wore only her bra and a skirt. Flip through our gallery of the steamy beach scene above.

Lauria, whose FNL character Luke Cafferty left for the Army on the series finale, popped up on Parenthood this season as Ryan, a veteran returning from two tours in Afghanistan. His character strikes up an unlikely friendship with head of the Braverman clan and fellow war veteran, Zeek (Craig T. Nelson).

What’s in store for Ryan and Whitman’s Amber Braverman?

Ryan has been fitting right in with the Braverman family after Zeek took him under his wing. On the most recent episode of the show, he even took in a baseball game with the family and shared a laugh with Amber.

Sparks were apparent between the duo and with these shots we can’t wait to see the full on fling that is going to go down.

The pair have been tweeting back and forth while filming and sharing adorable pictures snapped on set. Lauria recently tweeted to a fan that his stay on Parenthood is, “so far, six [episodes long]… with more coming!”

Lauria isn’t the only FNL alum to appear on Jason Katims’ Parenthood. Minka Kelly and Michael B. Jordan have also done stints on the NBC drama.

Parenthood airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on NBC.

Another day, another Hollywood sex tape.

Following in the footsteps of Paris Hilton and Kendra Wilkinson, Minka Kelly is the latest in a long line of celebrities to find themselves wrapped in up a notorious nude scandal.

The sexy Friday Night Lights stunner was reportedly caught on camera with an ex-boyfriend in New Mexico in 1998, but it’s only recently being peddled out to the public.

Will the video see the light of day?

The 30-minute intimate clip, which is said to be “semi-professional”, is up for grabs to the highest bidder.

But there’s one sticking point: it is unclear whether Kelly was of age in the racy footage.

According to TMZ, two songs from Brandy’s 1998 album Never Say Never can be heard bumping in the background. That record was released 16 days before Kelly turned 18, which could suggest she was a minor at the time of the tryst.

Kelly — who has romanced Derek Jeter, Wilmer Valderrama and Jake Gyllenhall — has yet to comment on the tape.

Friday Night Lights hunk Zach Gilford is off the market!

Yes, the 29-year-old actor has put a ring on girlfriend and actress Kiele Sanchez, 34. A source confirms the engagement to Celebuzz, which was first reported by Us Weekly.

“They are both very happy,” an insider told the magazine. The duo first met in spring 2010 while filming the pilot for TV’s The Matadors. Congrats you two!

Coincidentally, Zach’s FNL beloved character Matt Saracen got engaged to his longtime love Julie Taylor (Aimee Teegarden) on the show’s final season. We love when life imitates art!

For Friday Night Lights fans, the show’s season finale on July 15 will be both a gift and a curse: It brings a heartwarming and likely tear-jerking close to one of the best written and acted shows on network television in recent years (which explains why it just got an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series), but it also means that it’s the end of said show. Celebuzz got a chance to chat with Zach Gilford, who played the conflicted and lovable Matt Saracen — providing some of the most gripping moments throughout the series — to reflect a bit on the show’s demise, what it means to him, and how he’ll get all up in your grill if you get too close to Aimee Teegarden.

As the show comes to an end — what kind of feelings do you have? Nostalgia? Happiness-sadness combo?

It was a bummer. It was bittersweet, but I got to phase out. My last season I did half the season, then kind of came back at the end of it, and now I’m back a little bit this season. I was kind of getting my fix and slowly phasing myself out. It was always fun to go back but by the time it was really over it was like Oh well, it was definitely a good detox the way I got to go about it.

While filming or afterwards, was there a specific moment where it all sunk in?

The biggest moment when that happened was at the end of season three. Taylor [Kitsch] and I actually both talked about this. One of the last scenes we filmed was at Memorial Stadium in Ausitn and we finished the game and had taken our uniform off for the last time. We knew we were both coming back last year, but we knew we were never going to be in a Panthers uniform again. That was our last game, which was kind of crazy and weird.

You mentioned Taylor. Who’s your best friend that you’ll take away from the cast?

There’s a lot. One of our AD’s I became super close with — I went to his wedding. Jesse Plemons and I became really, really tight. Me and Scott [Porter] and Taylor still talk. We always catch up. Minka [Kelly] is still a good friend of mine. We all care about each other and keep in touch. If I read that someone got something, I give them a call or they’ll randomly reach out and say congrats.

We definitely all got along and we all care about each other. We spent 4-5 years together working on something we were all real proud of and enjoyed doing, and we’ll all be in touch for a long time.

The diehard fans will be happy to hear that you and Jesse — err, Matt and Landry — are great friends in real life given how close you were on the show.

I love that guy. I just hope we can do something together again, even if it’s where we just write something.

Kyle Chandler plays a pretty big mentor to everyone on the show. What’s the one thing you learned from him — professionally, personally … anything.

There’s a lot. One of our first episodes, he said “Enjoy this — you’re never going to have another job like this.” I was like “What are you talking about? Everything is going to be like this.” And, surely enough, Kyle was right.

He’s just a really cool guy. I always respected the balance he found between work and life and family. He just had a really good balance where he seemed to keep things into perspective and took everything on the chin. None of us stressed out about numbers or if we were coming back or not. Just be happy about making something you’re proud of. 

I have to ask: There’s a pretty big age difference between you and Aimee Teegarden, your girlfriend on the show. Were things ever awkward? Did you have to have talks wtih her parents or anything about the kissing scenes?

The only awkwardness was the first time we had to kiss, but by that point it was 9 episodes in. We talked about it — like “this is going to be weird, huh?” It was really cool and comfortable. It was so cool to see her grow up — we kind of all got to see her become a woman. I’m really proud of who she’s grown into.

So off-screen, you’re more of a big brother. Were you a line of defense if guys came up to her?

Absolutely. Any time we’d be somewhere and be out, I wouldn’t let anyone go near her. Boys aren’t allowed near you. She understood but I don’t think she loved it.

So, what’s next? Movies? TV? Do you have a preference on the medium?

It’s totally project-based. TV’s hard because something can look really good or bad on paper, and turn into something great or awful — not get on the air, or be on the air for 10 years. The last show I went to work on seemed like a cool idea and concept, but people didn’t turn it on and it didn’t quite become what it could have been. You make those risks and what happens happens.

It’s one of the only shows on television that can make grown men cry and come Friday, the critically acclaimed Friday Night Lights will have audiences everywhere grabbing for the tissues as the show says goodbye with it’s series finale. Celebuzz caught up with FNL actor Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Parenthood) who opened up about his emotional final moments playing the star quarterback of the East Dillon Lions, Vince Howard.  

He describes his last day on set in Austin, Texas: 

“It was a sad day. Everybody that was finished that day was there and everybody knew it was coming. It was like one of those moments and nobody really wanted to kick it off. … Producers called everybody over, we had a big circle and everybody was saying their goodbyes and they left me last.”

Just like the viewers who will be watching on Friday, Michael also became emotional bidding adieu to the beloved show. 

“I was speechless. I just basically, in a nutshell, said I never really felt like a family like this. Tears started flowing and I couldn’t talk.  It was rough saying goodbye. Texas Forever.”

In season four of the show, FNL producers decided to give the NBC program an overhaul and brought in a slew of new characters. Michael was one of the new kids on the block and he rose to the challenge but admitted to Celebuzz that he was “nervous.” 

“No words, no pep talk, nothing could really prepare us for what exactly the job is. … All the organic stuff that we do on the show is something I’ve never had the opportunity to do on any other show. It was different and I loved it. I loved every minute of it.”

Being the star of the show and the football team, fans will be happy to hear that Michael was doing about 80/20 of his own stunts by season five, but, like Vince, he wasn’t familiar with the game. “I’m an athlete. I grew up playing everything except football. (Laughs) Never played football growing up. I linked up with the football coordinator Justin Riemer and we would get up six in the morning and go down to the football field before we would actually shoot and go over quarterback drills just so I could become that guy.”

So where does Michael see the embattled Vince five or ten years from now? “If he stayed healthy, he’d be in the NFL for sure, and if not, I think he would probably be a coach,” he disclosed. “I think Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) left enough of an impression on him that he’d probably be a coach or do something in the city. I think he would definitely return the favor.”

FNL might be over but Michael can still be seen on TV. He’ll be reprising his character as Alex in season four of NBC’s Parenthood, and he’s going another direction with his career as well, starring in the upcoming sci-fi superhero FOX show Chronicle. You can also catch him on the big screen as he was cast in the George Lucas produced WWII movie Red Tails.
