Late star Gary Coleman‘s lawyer claims that Gary’s controversial ex-wife Shannon Price forced Gary to write an amended will that gave her more power after the star’s death.

The will in question is a hand-written codicil that Gary allegedly wrote in 2007. The codicil amends Gary’s previous will which was written before Gary married Shannon. Now, Gary’s ex-girlfriend Anna Gray, who was in Gary’s original will, has engaged in a legal battle with Shannon over the late actor’s affairs.

Now, Gary’s lawyer, Andy Kester has come forward to reveal that he believes that Shannon dictated the codicil to Gary, which would but the entire amendment into question.

Andy says that the language of the codicil is off:

Those are not Gary’s words [...] Gary wouldn’t even know how to pronounce some of those words… In fact, one of the phrases he uses in that codicil makes a reference to per stirpes which references children — he had no children. If you read the codicil, it’s clearly legalese.. someone’s dictating that to him.

In the codicil, Gary reportedly stated that “I made this change of free will and was not coerced in any way… this I have done because of my personal selfishness and my weakness and I love her with all my heart.”

Andy is gearing up to testify against Shannon in the legal battle with Gary’s ex-girlfriend.

Gary Coleman’s ex-wife, Shannon Price, who pulled the plug on the child star, had a restraining order filed against her by Coleman three months before his death.

While hospitalized following heart surgery last February, Coleman claimed Price trespassed in his Utah home. 

“I am concerned that irreplaceable memorabilia, irreplaceable model trains, irreplaceable items of personal property will be stolen, damaged, or destroyed. [Price] has shown a tendency to damage, destroy, and steal my property, and I believe she will continue to do so in my absence while she is trespassing in my home.

All this will likely hamper Price’s chances against fellow former Coleman companion Anna Gray, as both women have separate wills that entitle them to be the sole heir of the Diff’rent Strokes star’s estate—but only one was an accused thief with a restraining order against her.

Gary Coleman’s funeral is canceled and will never happen, the attorney overseeing the child star’s estate told Access Hollywood.

In accordance with Coleman’s 2005 will, there are to be no funeral services.

The legal fight for the estate of the Diff’rent Strokes star between ex-wife Shannon Price and old friend Anna Gray has stalled one of Gary’s other wishes—cremation.  It will not occur on Wednesday as planned.

In documents filed in 2006, Gary Coleman chose to be kept alive by life-support in the event that he was ever near death.

The one who pulled his plug, ex-wife Shannon Price, was the one who filed these documents.

A new will from 2005 by Gary Coleman has surfaced that bestows his entire estate to a mystery woman, ET reports.

That woman is Anna Gray, Gary’s best friend, caretaker, and housemate who was asked to move out when Gary married Shannon Price, Gary’s agent said.

As previously reported, Price has a handwritten will from 2007 naming the 9-1-1 incompetent woman as the child star’s sole heir.  Dion Mial is likewise named in the original 1999 will.

A mere two weeks after Gary Coleman‘s untimely death, the battle for whatever assets he left behind is in full swing.

Coleman’s ex-wife Shannon Price, who was with him at the time of his death, has filed court papers seeking to take over the deceased actor’s estates. In the papers, Price argues that she has powers over the “disposition of [Coleman's] body,” and has submitted a hand-written document, supposedly written by Coleman before his death, declaring that Price is “sole heir of any and all monies, properties, bank accounts, earnings, model trains, vehicles, cars, toys, games, electronics, homes, other inheritances if any, all things physical and/or intellectual…This I have done because of my personal selfishness and weakness and I Love her with all my heart.”

Though the couple divorced in 2008, in the weeks since Coleman’s death Price has argued that she was, in fact, his common-law wife. (Utah, where the couple resided, is one of 10 states to recognize common-law marriage.)

Quite naturally, Price’s latest legal maneuver has met some resistance—namely, from Coleman’s friend and former manager Dion Mial, who argues,

“She is the full and complete impediment to honor Gary wishes.”

Earlier this week, Mial allegedly had Price locked out of the home that she and Coleman shared.

In a 1999 will written by Coleman—so far, the most recent verified will left by him—the former Diff’rent Strokes star named Mial as the executor of his estate, and per the will, he is also the financial recipient of a trust.

No telling how this whole mess will eventually turn out, but it’s a pretty safe bet that it will get uglier before it gets better.

What would you pay to see lurid photos of recently deceased actor Gary Coleman in his dying moments? Chances are, if you have any semblance of soul whatsoever, the answer would be “nothing.” But apparently, if you’re tabloid publication the Globe, the answer is, “$10,000.”

The publication reportedly purchased photos of Coleman in his hospital death bed for a cool 10 G’s, hoping that the photos will provide boffo sales for its latest issue, on newsstands today. (According to reports, the photos were taken, and the sale was brokered, by Coleman’s ex-wife Shannon Price.) And, sick as that may seem, one industry source believes they got a bargain. According to someone who’s actually seen the ghoulish pictures, 

“They are going to sell a crazy amount of magazines. Yes, it’s an ugly decision to run pictures of a man in his hospital bed minutes before he died, but dead celebrities sell.”

So how did the Globe get such a deal on the pics, aside from Price’s apparent desperation for cash? One industry source notes that the photos “are so tasteless that none of the glossy magazines wanted to bid on them. This allowed Globe to get them so cheap.”

Maybe the Globe should rethink its purchase; sometimes a bargain isn’t always a bargain, and what they gain in magazine sales, they could pay for in lost reputation.

The second, hand-written will supposedly authored in the last year surfaced thanks to Shannon Price, his ex-wife, making her the sole heir to his estate.

Shannon Price had better start selling a few more of those big-bucks interviews to the media. Radar Online reports that the ex-wife of recently deceased actor Gary Coleman has been locked out of the house that the estranged couple shared up to the time of his death, as a nasty battle over the former Diff’rent Strokes actor’s assets begins to brew.

According to rice’s spokeperson, Sheila Erickson,

“Shannon cannot even get into her own home now… even though she is on the deed to her house.”

So who could be capable of tossing a recently widowed woman out on the street? Erickson theorizes that the eviction was the work of Coleman’s former manager Dion Mial, the executor of Coleman’s estate and, according to the actor’s 1999 will, the sole heir to all of his remaining assets.

Erickson says that she and her client will “absolutely” contest that will, citing a second, handwritten document, and claims that, in his final days, Coleman stated that he had become estranged from Mial:

“Gary made a statement about Dion less then 24 hours before he fell,” she claimed. “He said that he had not been friends with Dion for years…When asked why, Gary said: ‘All good things come to an end.’  Gary was stating that he had a falling out with Dion and did not wish to be close friends with him anymore.”

In the meantime, Price plans to move into a new home with the help of her family on Monday.

It’s so sad when friendships fall apart like that. Let’s try and forget all the unpleasantness by looking back at Gary and Dion in happier times, shall we?

Shannon Price might claim to be broke, but that’s likely to change soon.

The ex-wife of recently deceased actor Gary Coleman, who is asking the public for donations for Coleman’s funeral, is reportedly raking in the bucks by exploiting his death, according to multiple sources.

Radar Online reports that Price is asking big bucks for media interviews since the Diff’rent Strokes star’s death in late May—up to $50,000—and is even offering video tours of the house the two shared, and where Coleman had the fall that eventually led to his death. For a fee, of course.

Ghoulish? Well yeah, sure; but that might pale in comparison to another report.

According to TMZ, Price has negotiated a deal with an unnamed tabloid to publish four photos of Coleman’s final moments, including a shot of Price posing next to a bedridden, tube-riddled Coleman. (An additional photo, said to be taken after Coleman’s death, was not part of the deal. Maybe she’s holding out for more money?)

The photos are expected to hit newsstands as early as this week.

As long as she’s putting her ex-husband to rest, Price might as well bury any remaining shred of dignity she might have had along with him.

Even in death, Gary Coleman is finding it difficult to find a little peace.

The former Diff’rent Strokes actor, who died last Friday at the age of 42, was due to be buried this weekend in Utah, but now the funeral has been postponed, due to a developing war over the custody of his remains.

Coleman’s parents, Sue and Willie Coleman, have announced their intention to file a legal action seeking custody of their son’s remains so that they can bury the actor in his hometown of Zion, Illinois, where they still live.

The only hitch? Coleman’s will apparently dictates that his ex-wife, Shannon Price, should handle the funeral arrangements, at least according to Coleman‘s agent, Sheila Erickson. Noting that Coleman’s parents have “different plans than what is in Gary’s will,”  Erickson asserts,

“It’s clear that Shannon is the one that Gary wants to represent him, as she did in the hospital. He didn’t mention, at any time, his parents.”

Coleman had been estranged from his parents since 1989, when he sued them for allegedly  stealing much of the fortune he’d accumulated as a child star. (He filed for bankruptcy the following year.)

In an interview with TMZ, Price details her financial woes, noting that acting work had tapered off for Coleman in his later years, and that the actor was unable to obtain life insurance because of his kidney ailment. Due to these two circumstances, Price laments,

“Now I basically have nothing.”

So who’ll pony up to give Coleman his final resting place? That’s where you come in. Price notes,

“I’m just hoping that people pour out to us and really show their compassion.”

Interestingly enough, during the same interview, Price reminisces about the Las Vegas shopping sprees she’d go on with her now-deceased spouse in better times. Price brags,

“Obviously, I would buy the high-end stuff.”

Maybe a little bit of fiscal restraint would have helped her avoid her current situation.

Although reports surfaced on Wednesday that Gary Coleman‘s wife Shannon Price may have not had the right to pull the plug on Gary, hospital officials have revealed that Shannon did indeed have that power.

Officials at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center told RadarOnline that Gary had given Shannon full power to make medical decisions for him while they were married and that he didn’t change it when they got divorced.

“Mr. Coleman had completed an Advanced Health Care Directive that granted Shannon Price permission to make medical decisions on his behalf if he was unable to do so. An Advanced Health Care Directive remains in effect regardless of a patient’s marital status, unless modified by the patient. It is a private medical document which the hospital does not have permission to release. However, we received permission to confirm that the document was in effect at the time of Mr. Coleman’s death.

Although the two had divorced two years before his death, they had reportedly reconciled shortly after their split and some of their friends and family weren’t even aware that the two had split.

The two had reportedly kept the divorce secret and filed their documents under named “John Doe” and “Jane Doe.” The couple still lived together at the time of Gary’s death.

Gary died in Utah after being taken off life support on Friday. He had slipped into a coma following a head injury. He was 42.

The funeral for Gary Coleman will be held this weekend in Salt Lake City, and the deceased actor’s parents, whom he barely saw for the last twenty years of his life, will be in attendance.

The former child star sued his parents in 1989 for stealing a giant part of his fortune, and the family rift between Gary and his parents never closed after that.

It’s been kind of hard [for his parents].  There are a lot of emotions surrounding all of it.

Show business suffered a tragic loss on Friday, when Gary Coleman passed away at the age of 42 after being hospitalized for a head injury.

Coleman came to prominence in the role of Arnold on the ’70s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, but he never stopped entertaining the world, both in various movie and television roles and with the antics of his personal life.

RadarOnline is reporting that Gary Coleman has passed away. He was 42.

Coleman was hospitalized in Utah earlier this week for a head injury following a fall. He slipped into a coma while in the hospital and now his family has reportedly taken him off life support.

The Illinois native was perhaps best known for his role as Arnold Jackson in the sitcom Diff’rent Strokes. Coleman played a child who was adopted by a wealthy widower and he quickly became the star of the show with his catchphrase, “What’choo talkin’ ’bout, Willis.” Coleman stayed with the show until it went off the air in 1986.

After the show, Coleman made guest appearances on many different TV shows, including 227, Married with Children, Martin, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Although he enjoyed success as a popular public figure, Gary soon suffered from financial troubles and was forced to declare bankruptcy in 1999 due to mismanagement of his trust by his parents and former manager.

Gary earned some negative publicity when he allegedly assaulted a woman while working as a security guard. He later raised eyebrows when he appeared on Divorce Court with his wife, Shannon Price, due to marital problems although they eventually reconciled and remained together until his death.

Gary’s famously small stature was due to congenital kidney disease, which he contracted at a young age. Due to the disease he had two kidney transplants and required daily dialysis.

He will be missed.
