From eye-catching jewels and statement clutches to fancy footwear, this year’s Golden Globes fashion was all about the accessories.

With many stars rocking the same trends — red, blush, mermaids and gold — and some red carpet twins even sporting styles so similar they were barely indistinguishable, accessories took on an even more important role.

Though there was little red carpet diversity in terms of styles and hues, unexpected extras helped distinguish and define each starlet’s look.

Some stars like Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba added personality to classic gowns by carrying clutches with flair. But what really took Alba’s look to the next level was the sparkly stunner on her neck.

As Project Runway judge Nina Garcia told us, many stars made a glam statement with gorgeous, one-of-a-kind jewels.

Emily Blunt, Hayden Panettiere and Jennifer Garner wore some of the Globes’ most buzz-worthy bling, choosing one or two standout pieces to complete their looks.

Meanwhile some stars — including the night’s host Amy Poehler, as well as Modern Family’s Ariel Winter and Smash‘s Katharine McPhee — finished their ensembles with fancy footwear.

Metallic clutches and glitzy bangles were the red carpet’s big accessory trends, but even those were as unique and stunning as their owners (or borrowers).

Jennifer Lawrence, Ben Affleck and Anne Hathaway took home Golden Globes this past Sunday, paving the way for Oscar gold. Hathaway and Lawrence, both frontrunners for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress, respectively, look like the ones to beat come Academy Awards time. Despite Argo failing to nab an Oscar nomination for Best Director, it had no trouble winning the Globe for Affleck. Argo also took home the night’s biggest prize: Best Picture – Drama. For Celebuzz‘s full list of winners, click here.

Hold on to your butts: There’s another Jurassic Park on the way.

Universal Pictures announced via press release that the fourth installment of the hit dinosaur franchise will arrive in theaters June 13, 2014. Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first two films in the franchise, will serve as executive producer. The film, written by Rise of the Planet of the Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, is expected to find a director soon.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are launching a new production company. Important Studios will allow the duo to “approve television, movie and theater projects, including a big-screen version of The Book of Mormon.” Stone says he hopes DreamWorks or Lucasfilm will serve as a model, but then explained, “In some ways it’s a stupid comparison because they are gargantuan.  We want to be a smaller, more humble version of that.” [The New York Times]

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is still a thing that’s happening, and Disney has hired a new writer to make it happen. Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can, Rush Hour 3) will pen the return of Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack, although the actor has yet to officially sign-on for the sequel. But don’t worry, he will. Unless he’s developed an allergy to all the money this franchise makes. [Variety]

Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the directing duo behind Crazy, Stupid, Love, have signed-on to write and direct the film based on the Wired Magazine article “John McAfee’s Last Stand.” The film centers on McAfee’s crazy turn from software engineer to suspected murderer and fugitive hiding out in Belize. The project, set up at Warner Bros., has yet to lock down a release date. [Variety]

Good news for Die Hard fans: The next installment in the oh-my-god-it’s-still-going franchise will be Rated “R.” Collider.com confirmed the report this past Friday, as did a new TV spot for A Good Day to Die Hard. Bruce Willis reprises his role as John McClane, and this time the New York cop is in Russia, struggling to save his son from some very bad guys. Watch the new TV spot below.

The 2013 Golden Globes brought us many new faces, fresh fashions and inspiring beauty trends.

But this year also brought us some … well, copycat fashions, with many starlets showing up in (gasp!) nearly identical gowns.

Sure, every red carpet has colors, fabrics, designs and silhouettes that dominate the red carpet, but Sundays night’s red carpet saw so many lookalike dresses, it almost seemed like some stars had planned it.

There was Zooey Deschanel and Jennifer Lawrence in strapless, long red ball gowns, and Marion Cotillard only distinguishing her red strapless dress and gold belt from Lawrence’s Dior red dress and gold belt with a shorter hemline.

Then there was the parade of strapless, blush mermaid styles worn by Hayden Panettiere, Amy Adams and Megan Fox.

But these ladies in red and blushing beauties were far from the Golden Globes’ only fashion copycats.

It wasn’t just about the gorgeous gowns at this year’s Golden Globes. From sexy smoky eyes and winged eyeliner to old-school Hollywood waves, celebs walked the red carpet with stunning (and some surprising) hair, makeup and nails.

From Zooey Deschanel’s “60s social look” donning a high, bouncy ponytail, red lips and a pearl necklace to Nicole Richie, Amy Adams, Tina Fey and Isla Fisher’s sexy waves—retro-chic locks ruled the red carpet.

The Globes’ makeup was all about the eyes. Claire Danes, Katharine McPhee and Julianne Hough rocked the smokey eye.

If the stars eyes weren’t smokey, they were heavily-lined. Winged eyeliner, worn by Emily Blunt, Carla Guglio, and Taylor Swift made for this year’s pretties peepers.

The buzzed-about Mani-Cam captured the Deschanel’s fun film strip nail art and Sarah Hyland’s dark shade with funky wire accents, while an array of stars, including Julia Louis-Drefuschose Spring’s 2013 hottest trend with soft nude nails.

And the night’s most surprising accessory? Ear cuffs. Both Hough and Giuliana Ranscic rocked these funky ear pieces that feel so rocker-chic and anything but ordinary on the red carpet.

Glamour was the theme for the 2013 Golden Globes’ fashion. Big ball gowns, sparkly stunners and red-hot numbers ruled the red carpet this year.

Feminine hues were one of the night’s biggest trends. Hollywood’s heavyweights didn’t shy away from bold red dresses, with Jennifer Lawrence (in Dior Haute Couture), Claire Danes (in Versace), Naomi Watts and Zooey Deschanel (in Oscar de la Renta) all donning crimson dresses.

Channeling a completely different vibe, Megan Fox, Hayden Panettiere (Roberto Cavalli and Forevermark jewels) and Amy Adams went with a softer feminine hue, donning blush gowns that had very similar strapless, mermaid silhouettes. Another set of red carpet twinsies, Nashville‘s Connie Britton and Isla Fisher wore almost the exact same dress, with both redheads donning sparkly silver column gowns.

Shades of blue, from Thandie Newton, Kathryn Bigelow, and Emily Mortimer‘s grayish blue gowns to Nicole Richie‘s brighter blue and Morena Baccarin and Jodie Foster‘s midnight gowns.

But color wasn’t the night’s only big trend…

Starlets continued the sparkly trend on the red carpet. Richie, Britton, Mortimer and more shimmered down the red carpet in curve-skimming eye-catching gown. Sexy slinky gowns were another big red carpet trend, with Katherine McPhee and Claire Danes showing their fab figures in sizzling styles.

On the other end of the silhouette spectrum, ball gowns abounded. Lawrence, Debra Messing, Lena Dunham, Lucy Lui  and Julie Louise Dreyfuss channeled their inner princess in elegant poufy ball gowns in various hues and even patterns.

With hosts as naturally funny as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards was inevitably going to be a barrel of laughs.

And boy, they did not disappoint.

Mixing old-school humor with below-the-belt jokes that would make even Ricky Gervais blush, Fey and Poehler had us laughing and gasping they way they did for years as cohorts on Saturday Night Live, making for one of the funniest and most relaxing awards shows in recent memory.

They even made a torture joke about James Cameron — and actually got away with it.

Nominee Nicole Kidman looked elegant as ever on the 2013 Golden Globe Awards red carpet Sunday night, where she showed up in a sleek black dress by Alexander McQueen.

Her best accessory, though? Husband Keith Urban, who turned out to be the deciding factor on what his Oscar-winning wife would wear to tonight’s ceremony.

“He said, ‘That’s hot. Wear that,’” Kidman revealed.

“I gave her two thumbs up. That was it,” added Urban, who will begin his tenure as a judge on American Idol this week.

From Zero to red-carpet glam!

Zero Dark Thirty star Jessica Chastain turned the clock back a couple of decades on Sunday when she arrived to the Golden Globe Awards in a stunning blue gown by Calvin Klein Collection.

Chastain, who is a nominee tonight, paired her ’40s-inspired look with jewels by Harry Winston, and pulled her signature red locks back in a way that would have made Veronica Lake proud.

“I wanted to wear something that made me feel happy,” Chastain — who was awarded Best Actress by the Broadcast Film Critics on Thursday — told E! host Ryan Seacrest.

Chastain is a frontrunner to win again tonight for her fierce portrayal of Maya, a CIA agent who spearheaded the hunt to find and kill terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Claire Danes hit the Golden Globes red carpet in true style on Sunday night, donning a red dress by Versace that showed off her remarkably fit post-baby body.

The 33-year-old, who is nominated for her performance in the Showtime drama Homeland, welcomed son Cyrus last month with her husband Hugh Dancy.

“I’m deliriously happy,” she said of raising Cyrus, who turns one month old, tomorrow.

“I’ve been in sweatpants for quite awhile, so this is exciting,” she added of her red-carpet look, which she said she only tried on for the first time on Saturday.

The Golden Globes never fails to bring some of the most memorable fashion moments of the year. And after all the amazing looks we saw at the People’s Choice Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards this week, we can’t wait to see what Sunday night’s red carpet brings.

Aside from the Oscars, the Golden Globes is the biggest red carpet fashion event of the awards season and it happens relatively early in the season, offering Hollywood’s biggest stars a chance to establish themselves as one’s to watch.

While the Golden Globes and Academy Awards tend to share an equally fancy dress code, there’s a little less pressure to knock it out of the park at the Globes.

Unlike the Oscars, where the fear of a faux pas can be enough to derail even the most adventurous risk-taker, the show can be a chance for stars to play it a little less safe and to try some more fashion-forward and out-of-the-box looks.

This year’s Golden Globes just got an extra dose of star power.

Making her first post-baby appearance, Adele will return to the stage Sunday night for the 2013 Golden Globes festivities, where she is nominated for Best Original Song for the latest James Bond caper, Skyfall.

Adele’s single, “Skyfall,” will go head-to-head with Taylor Swift‘s “Safe and Sound” for The Hunger Games, Jon Bon Jovi‘s “Not Running More” for Stand Up Guys, Keith Urban‘s “For You” from Act of Valor, and “Suddenly” from Les Miserables.

Adele’s ballad also earned a nod for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars, putting the eight-time Grammy winner within reach of her first Academy Award.

The British songstress welcomed her first child, a baby boy with boyfriend Simon Konecki, in October. Since announcing her pregnancy in June, she has maintained a extremely low profile.
