Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s season 9 finale, “Perfect Storm.”

I don’t think that there was really a single character that didn’t have some huge revelation or near-death experience or something awful happen to them; and since I’d be writing all night if I tried to cover them all, I’m going to have to just pick out some highlights.

First of all, Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) story in this one was amazing. Cristina (Sandra Oh) pointing out all the ways that Meredith has almost died over the years made me laugh a little, because it was sadly very true. You’d think after watching this woman nearly die over and over again, I’d get at the very least bored with it, but I’ll be darned if she didn’t break my heart again in this one. Meredith teaching Shane how to save her life and then ordering him to let her go just about killed me. It made the final moments when we saw her with her new baby and her daughter and husband that much sweeter.

When you think about it, a lot of stories bounced off of Meredith’s. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) was able to pull herself together and get back in an O.R. to save her friend. And how sweet was it that Meredith decided to name her son Bailey? Then there was Cristina and Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) story. Cristina seeing Derek (Patrick Dempsey) with his newborn son reminded Cristina of how Owen looked when he was with Ethan and she knows she’s not enough for him. Okay, so maybe Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) weren’t entirely connected to Meredith’s story, but her baby did make it into their NICU so that still kind of counts. Alex finally told Jo he loved her and I felt like it was way more special because we waited so long for it to finally happen.

In addition to all of the personal drama, there were all of the individual crises that happened all over the hospital. From the babies in the NICU (by the way, who else was yelling at their TV screens saying “Make the parents vent the babies! Jeesh!”?), to the bus accident and subsequent explosion, there was a lot going on and it felt like nearly every doc, or their patients, were in mortal danger throughout the entire episode. It was dark and powerful and exciting and scary and poignant and sad and I pretty much loved the whole thing. God, do I love finale season. The only thing that sucks about finale season is the fact that we get these fantastic episodes, but they always end in cliffhangers and we have to wait months to find out what happens next. Let the countdown to fall begin.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: The bus flying over the embankment as everyone watch in terror through the hospital windows.

Thank you, TV gods.: Meredith lives! The baby is fine! Alex tells Jo he loves her!

Awk-ward: Arizona screaming at Callie that she wanted to get out a bone saw so she could even the score with Callie. Ouch.

Hotness: Jackson running out from behind a burning bus with a child in his arms. Talk about a super hero moment.

Fab-u-lous: The title card flashing off and on as if flickering from a power surge. That was brilliant.

Can. Not. Wait.: For fall. Need I say more? Will Richard live? Will Alex and Jo survive? Are Cristina and Owen really over? Are Callie and Arizona really over? I can’t wait to see what happens with every single storyline.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. I really wanted to give this one a 10 purely because of all of the emotional responses it brought out in me, but it still didn’t quite hold up to some episodes in earlier seasons that had me bawling like a baby. Those are the ones that get 10′s from me, but this one was darn close.

What did you think of this episode? What moments were you surprised by the most? Did you predict any of the shocking things that happened?

At Monday’s NYLON Young Hollywood party we got the chance to chat with Grey’s star Camilla Luddington, who portrays Intern Jo on the series. She shared some insider scoop on Alex and Jo’s future.

“I could tell you that the storm gets a lot worse. It’s very chaotic,” Camilla told Celebuzz. “Karev and Jo are kind of forced to work together in pediatrics and it definitely brings them a little closer together.”

She also spilled on her hopes for a Jo and Alex “happy ending” and what it was like filming that cray cray tree scene. Plus, she revealed which Grey’s Anatomy cast member is the goofy practical joker of the bunch.

Get it all from Camilla above and check out our Grey’s Anatomy recaps if you need to brush-up before tonight’s finale!

Did you know? Camilla Luddington played Kate Middleton in Lifetime‘s original film William & Kate, which told the the story of the royal couple. We totally see the resemblance!

Meanwhile, the storms happening inside the walls might be more damaging than those on the outside.

*Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Readiness Is All.”*

Okay folks, this is one of those episodes where I pretty much loved everything, so I’m going to just take each storyline in order of which ones I loved the most. Once again Alex and Jo get top billing for making us wonder who exactly retaliated on Jason and turned his brain into scrambled eggs. Not that I wouldn’t blame Alex if he’d done it, and we all know he would have done it if he’d had the chance, but I’m glad that it turned out that Jo was actually the one who took Jason down. It was a nice twist to not have Alex do it and it proved that Jo is a badass herself. I thought it was pretty smart of Alex to blackmail Jason into keeping everything a secret, but I will (reluctantly) admit that Derek had a point about that not necessarily being the right thing to do. I was all ready for Alex and Jo to kiss in the end, but that darn tree got in the way. I wonder if the moment is gone for now or if they can get that close again in the finale.

On the baby front, we had Meredith waddling around just 3 weeks away from her due date, which of course means that everything in the hospital is instantly out to kill her. She narrowly escapes a possibly explosive O.R. (“I’ve been through something like this before, it didn’t end well.”) only to slip and fall on the steps. I have to admit that I figured it would be baby time right then and there, but they pulled a fast one on us and she turned out to be perfectly fine. I was practically jumping up and down with joy in the end when her water broke, but something tells me that the birth isn’t going to go as well as that fall down the stairs did.

Did I call that whole thing with Owen and Ethan or what? I just knew that Owen was going to want to adopt Ethan and that whole chat between him and Meredith was beautiful. When it was over, I was all ready for him to tell Cristina he was taking the kid home and maybe even hoping that she’s suddenly be okay with it since Ethan was a boy and not a tiny little baby. But then the dad woke up and ruined Owen’s dreams and mine as well.

Matthew’s proposal to April was beyond cute, but why do I have this sinking feeling that he’s going to die now? I guess I must be too used to this show and its propensity for breaking our hearts just when we start to like a character.

Wait, actually I did think of a storyline that I didn’t like. The one with Arizona and Lauren actually made me angry. Though I’m mad at both of them, I have to say that Lauren gets more of my wrath. I will just never understand a person who flirts with someone else’s spouse. Plus, Arizona and Callie just got through a whole bunch of crap this year and now this woman is going to come in and make things bad for them again.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Meredith falling down the stairs!

Thank you, TV gods.: Finding out that Meredith and the baby were both okay after her fall.

Awk-ward: Pretty much everything that came out of Brooks’ mouth in this episode.

Hotness: Alex and Jo standing in front of the window when Alex was *this* close to telling Jo that he loved her.

Fab-u-lous: Matthew’s proposal to April. That sweet and cool all at the same time.

Can. Not. Wait.: To see Derek and Meredith’s baby being born.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. Definitely a great episode with a ton of excitement and strong storylines from pretty much every character.

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Do You Believe in Magic”

I wouldn’t have expected it from the first part of this episode, or any of the episode except for the final few minutes, but Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) story was absolutely my favorite in this one. I realize that sounds terrible when talking about something as awful as abuse, but I’m just really excited to see what happens next. I thought it was great how Cristina (Sandra Oh) kept protecting Alex when she found out how much he was hurting about Jo. Yeah sure, she teased him relentlessly while she was doing it, but we still saw how much she cared. Never in a million years would I have guessed that Jason (Charles Michael Davis) would get abusive with Jo. But now that he has, I can only imagine what Alex is going to do to him.

Miranda’s (Chandra Wilson) continuing story was another favorite in this episode. I was curious what she was doing in that lab and when we realized that she was testing herself over and over again, I felt so bad for her. I thought – much like everyone seemed to on the staff – that she was still angry and that’s why she was staying away from everyone and refusing to talk. I was so happy when Richard called in her husband. Tough it did hurt to see her break down in Ben’s (Jason George) arms, I also felt like it was something that needed to happen. Hopefully, now that she’s admitted how she feels, Miranda can start to heal herself.

The story with Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Ethan got even more complicated in this episode and I definitely had some moments where I thought for sure they were leading us toward Owen deciding to adopt the kid. Obviously Cristina felt the same way so I’m sure she was relieved when he said he wanted her.

As for the other storylines, they were all pretty good but nothing that really caught my attention as much as the ones above. Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) flirting with a new doctor was a little strange, but I’m waiting to see what happens there before making any judgments. April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) friendship is still flip-flopping around so nothing new there. And as for the interesting cases of the week, the most interesting one had to be the lady cut in half by her magician husband. That’s one of those things that make me shiver just to think about it.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Jo looking up at Alex and revealing her beaten face.

Thank you, TV gods.: Miranda breaking down in her husband’s arms. I just felt like that was something she needed to do.

Awk-ward: All the docs resorting to waiting outside of the bathroom for Miranda.

Hotness: Alex in his hoodie. Just sayin’.

Fab-u-lous: Zola in her princess gown and tiara, of course. How sweet was that?

Can. Not. Wait.: To see Alex kick Jason’s ass. I don’t care if it’s wrong, I still want to see it.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8. Between Miranda breaking down and Jo showing up at Alex’s house with a black eye, this one had a lot of emotion in it for me to rate a fairly high score.

What did you think of this episode? Were you expecting things to go the way they did with Jo and Jason? What do you think Alex is going to do now?

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Sleeping Monster.”

There was a lot going on in this episode, but there were two storylines in particular that I loved a lot. First up, there was Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington). I know it may seem strange, but it wasn’t until the very end of the episode – when he suddenly realized that he loved Jo and confessed that love to Cristina (Sandra Oh) – that I really started rooting for him and Jo. All this time, I was kind of enjoying the two of them being just friends. But seeing the look on his face there at the end, it broke my heart and I just wanted him to be happy. Besides, isn’t it about darn time that Alex has some luck in the romance department? I’d love to see him settled down and having babies like (nearly) everyone else at that hospital.

The second storyline that really got to me in this episode was of course Miranda (Chandra Wilson) and the whole infection mystery. I never actually thought she would have it and I think it was a great direction for them to take the story. Miranda was the surgeon all of the interns wanted to be back in the beginning, so to have he be the inadvertent cause behind something so terrible is kind of mind-blowing in a way. Yes, I know, technically it was her gloves that were at fault but somehow I don’t think Miranda is fully going to see it that way. Not judging by her reaction when she heard the news.

Other parts of the episode I enjoyed included Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) asking Cristina to be in the delivery room with her and all of the “pooping on the table” conversations that followed. It was done mostly for fun, but it also spoke of their strong friendship that Cristina finally agreed to do it. We all know how Cristina feels about babies in general so being there for Meredith’s big day probably wasn’t high on her list of to-do’s.

Speaking of Cristina, I do wonder if she’s right about Owen (Kevin McKidd). He has been getting really close with Ethan over the past couple episodes and it makes me wonder exactly where they’re going with that. I doubt they’d have Owen spend all that time with Ethan to have it mean nothing, but I’m not quite sure what the plan is.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: A man walking into the E.R. with a cooler full of fingers. and one turkey dog.

Thank you, TV gods.: Cristina fixing the newborn baby’s heart.

Awk-ward: Any and all conversations that involved Meredith pooping on the delivery table.

Hotness: I find vulnerable Alex pretty hot so definitely the moment at the end when he crawled into Cristina’s bed and declared his love for Jo.

Fab-u-lous: The way they shot the scene where Miranda was trying to remember all of her surgeries and getting them confused. Especially the part where we found out that she used Aretha Franklin’s “Think” as her scrub song.

Can. Not. Wait.: So many things! Such as: When Alex will tell Jo, how Miranda will recover from the news that she caused the outbreak, what will happen with Cristina and Owen, and probably a ton more.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8. Another great episode with a lot of good stuff in it.

What did you think of this episode of Grey’s Anatomy? Were you expected Miranda to be found as the carrier for the disease? What do you hope will happen between Alex and Jo?

Like all ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy episodes, Thursday’s night was full of drama and intrigue. The doctors help some visiting colleagues learn how to get by with less equipment, while an infection seems to be spreading through patients treated by one particular doctor. So, who’s the “culprit?” Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode,...Read more»

The doctors help some visiting colleagues learn how to get by with less equipment, while an infection seems to be spreading through patients treated by one particular doctor.

So, who’s the “culprit?”

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “She’s Killing Me.”

There were a couple of great storylines in this episode, which makes it harder to pick my absolute favorite. But I think I’m going to have to go with the infection running through the hospital and everyone thinking that Leah (Tessa Ferrer) caused it when it might have actually been Miranda (Chandra Wilson).

Right now I’m stumped as to what could have caused it and I hope they don’t find that Miranda did something wrong — which would just kill her. I do have to wonder how far it will go and how many more patients it might kill before they figure out exactly what’s going on.

Another one of my favorite stories in this episode was everyone banding together to help the two Syrian doctors. I loved when they took away all the extra instruments and turned off the lights to show the Grey + Sloan docs exactly what kind of conditions they had to work in back home. I also got a kick out of Owen (Kevin McKidd) walking into the room with all of his surgeons and dumping a box on the table with a few instruments in it and telling his people that they were going to have to make it work somehow.

It made me smile because it so reminded me of a similar scene in Apollo 13 and it made the whole thing feel like an adventure. I realize that’s an awful thing to say when talking about people whose goals were too ultimately save lives, but that’s how I felt.

Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) had some great moments in this episode too. I totally knew that there was no way she would ever want to be a mother to Meredith’s kids and, frankly, I was a bit surprised that Meredith didn’t see that. But, I think Meredith was hoping that if it were her children, Cristina would feel differently. We all want to see what we want to see when it comes to our friends.

I liked that they were able to be so honest and have that conversation, as well as the conversation about doping Meredith with morphine at the first sign of Alzheimer’s without any drama. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of their quirky, wonderful friendship.

Speaking of Cristina and kids, I was so happy when she finally caught on to why Owen was freaking out over her patient. I loved seeing him interacting with children — which makes the fact that Cristina doesn’t any that much more heartbreaking — and I thought it was sweet how he really connected with the little boy. I really hope all of this kid-bonding isn’t setting Owen and Cristina up for another fight though. It feels like they were just getting back in stride after everything that’s happened.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Meredith finding out that she had tested positive for more than one marker for Alzheimer’s gene.

Thank you, TV gods.: The little boy’s mom waking up and remembering him. My heart could not have handled another scene like we had between those two in the last episode.

Awk-ward: Cristina admitting to Meredith that she loved Zola, but she didn’t want to be her mother.

Hotness: Pretty much every scene with Owen and the little boy. Just because I find him so sexy when he is being all protective, especially for his younger patients.

Fab-u-lous: Meredith and Cristina having their coffee overlooking the city. Yes, I know it was fake, but it was still pretty.

Can. Not. Wait.: To see how they will resolve the issue with Miranda and her infectious patients.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8. A good medical mystery and a few great storylines gave this one high marks in my book.

What did you think of this episode? Do you have any idea what is going to happen to Miranda now that they’ve traced the infections back to her?

Amidst all the chaos of accident victims, there is also a mom with a sick little boy who doesn’t seem to get well no matter what they do to treat him.

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Can’t Fight This Feeling.”

My favorite part of this episode had to be the story of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) taking over the case with the mom (guest star Sarah Chalke) and the little boy with the mysterious illness. I didn’t know what to think of that one when she first walked in to the E.R. I kind of figured it wouldn’t be nothing – this is Grey’s Anatomyafter all – but, there were a few directions they could’ve gone with it. I was very glad that they played up Meredith’s mommy instincts and that she was able to figure out what the kid had and get him treated. It made my heart go all mushy inside – not gonna lie.

I feel like the second biggest part of the episode was the story that involved April (Sarah Drew), Alex (Justin Chambers), as well as Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Jo’s new beau, Jason (Charles Michael Davis). It also kind of involved Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Matthew (Justin Bruenning), but I’ll get to that bit in a minute. This one was a little convoluted, but I managed to follow along enough to know that Alex — even though he was being somewhat of a jerk about it — was actually right about Jason. Sure, Alex probably doesn’t like the guy out of jealousy, but when Jason refused to tell the woman’s husband that his wife had just died, he went straight on to my douche list, too. It’s odd to say that I liked that part, because it wasn’t particularly enjoyable, but being the hardcore Alex-girl that I am, I’m happy when he gets proven right, even when it’s for something so small.

Here’s where we get to the part that included Jesse and Matthew. It’s also coincidentally the part that I didn’t like. Jesse treats Matthew’s burns and it’s no big deal. April is upset that her patient died and Jesse comforts her. Also no big deal, right? Well, it’s a very big deal when April apparently starts to get feelings for Jesse again, then tries to talk about how she feels to Matthew and makes the poor guy think she’s trying to say she loves him. Ugh! I know shows like this live for the back and forth, but it is making me nuts. I was totally OK with Jesse and April getting together, but when they decided to go their separate ways, I was okay with that, too. I’ve just started liking Matthew (even though I don’t like that April has been lying to him) and now they go and do this? It makes my head hurt.

That annoying storyline aside, there was a lot more stuff to like in this one, including Owen (Kevin McKidd) making sure the little boy from the accident was OK, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) making Heather (Tina Majorino) his new favorite and Shane (Gaius Charles) jealous, plus everyone in the hospital wanting to get their genomes mapped by Miranda’s (Chandra Wilson) new machine.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: The man running around in front of the E.R. doors on fire. That certainly surprised the heck out of me.

Thank you, TV gods.: Callie finally getting to give her speech and rocking it by just being herself and telling the truth.

Awk-ward: April walking in on Jackson treating Matthew’s ass.

Hotness: Arizona helping Callie with her speech — by stripping.

Fab-u-lous: The scene over the freeway after the tanker truck exploded. It looked really cool, especially knowing that most of it must have been C.G.I.

Can. Not. Wait.: This sounds strange, because it’s not exactly a fun thing, but I’m dying to see the results of Meredith’s genome mapping

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 7. I didn’t hate it, but the annoyance from April and Jesse made me give this one a lower mark than I normally would.

How did you feel about April and Jesse’s little moment alone? Do you think they should get back together?

Hollywood bringing homosexuality into the homes across the country is not altogether new, considering the same-sex themes that played out on the small screen in such still-beloved hits as Will & Grace, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Six Feet Under.

But in recent years, series have shone a brighter spotlight on same-sex couples, from Grey’s Anatomy‘s wedding lesbian couple Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins to Modern Family‘s child-rearing fathers, Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Scott Tucker.

While it may not have been any calculated campaign, television has certainly had a hand in bringing gay into the country’s consciousness, raising awareness and even acceptance of homosexuality amongst Americans.

Now the Supreme Court is tackling two cases on the matter of gay marriage: the constitutionality of Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that bans same-sex marriage, and a challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act, a federal law that defines marriage as the union of a man and woman.

So as the nation awaits a ruling, Celebuzz is taking a look at 10 same-sex TV couples that prove all people deserve the right to wed whomever they please.

The doctors have a lot of brand new toys to play with, but most of them are too busy dealing with their own issues to enjoy them.

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Idle Hands.”

Much as they’ve already done a couple of times this season, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) ended up with the story I loved the most in this one. Callie and Arizona have had a lot of challenges to overcome in the past few months and I really like how they’ve tackled each one head on. That’s not to say they haven’t had their issues, of course, but they have taken on each obstacle as a loving couple and this episode was no different. I thought it was really cute how excited Callie was by Arizona’s new high-heel leg (the one that made her booty go “pow”), but I also thought it was very sweet when Callie took the time to check in with Arizona to make sure she was feeling OK. The moment when Arizona finally relaxed and let Callie treat her and help her was a nice little scene between them.

I know, I know, I’ve already gotten way into this recap and I (gasp!) haven’t said a word about Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) baby boy. Honestly, I was very excited by that and the only reason they didn’t make it into my top favorite spot in this week’s recap is simply because their scenes were so much shorter than Callie and Arizona’s. Meredith constantly worrying about the baby is hilarious, because it is so like her. Normally a woman joking about the horrible things that could be wrong with her unborn child would be sick and not funny at all, but this is Meredith we’re talking about here. Considering all that’s happened to her, she’s earned the right to be a bit melodramatic. But I hope now that she’s seen that their baby is apparently perfectly healthy, and a boy (yay!), she can relax and just look forward to being a mommy again.

My other favorite story on this episode had to be the whole prank war that was rained down on poor Jason by Alex (Justin Chambers), Alex’s young cancer patient and Richard (James Pickens, Jr.). It provided a lot of comic relief on the episode, which was fun, plus it was a very clever way to have Alex pick on Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) new boyfriend without being too obvious. Then again, Jason didn’t seem to be falling for it all being about the kid having a crush, so maybe Alex isn’t as subtle as he thinks he is.

Another fun part included Cristina (Sandra Oh) using her power to get herself put on the other doctor’s research program. I wondered how long it might take for her to do something like that. I also thought the whole LODOX story was pretty funny. And by the end, I was practically screaming for them to throw someone, anyone, into the darn thing so we could see it work.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Owen peeling back that woman’s scalp to reveal her skull. Yikes.

Thank you, TV gods.: The docs finally get to use the LODOX.

Awk-ward: Jason putting a cup of urine next to Miranda.

Hotness: Arizona in her sexy lingerie.

Fab-u-lous: Arizona’s new high-heel leg that makes her booty go “pow!”

Can. Not. Wait.: To see Derek and Meredith’s baby boy!

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8. Call me shallow, but I have to give this one a high ranking just for the fact that it’s the episode where we found out the sex of Derek and Meredith’s baby. That’s history in the making, right there.

Were you excited to find out that Derek and Meredith are having a boy?

Last week, fans watched as the doctors took over the hospital and renamed it after their fallen loved ones.

“It was certainly an emotional table read for all of us,” Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner, tells Celebuzz. “It’s a great way to honor those castmembers that we all got to work with for so many years. And it’s a big thing to rename the hospital! And I think it made us all re-remember those lost characters and those missed castmembers.”

The Virginia native discuseed some of the most memorable moments of the season, as well as some clues as to what’s ahead.

On the Season 9 finale episode: “I’ve noticed that every other year, there is some gigantic disaster, and on the off years there is big emotional turmoil, and disaster! So, I’m guessing there will be some big emotional trauma, regarding the board of directors. That’s what it’s looking like.”

On April’s love triangle involving coworkers Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Matthew (Justin Bruening): “She realizes that even though she’s with the guy that should be perfect for her, she misses sex quite a lot and is now feeling guilty all over again. We see more of her friendship with Jackson as well as her relationship with Matthew. And, there’s definitely a push and pull.”

On April’s relationship with the new board of directors: “She still sees Owen (Kevin McKidd) as her boss. She doesn’t regard any of the doctors any differently now that they are on the Board of Directors. She continues to treat Jackson the way she’s always treated Jackson – being a jerk sometimes, and being neurotic and crazy sometimes, but also being supportive and a good friend.”

On the possibility of a Season 10: “I’m pretty confident that we will be coming back for at least one more season. We have no plan to end the story at this season finale. So I’ve got my fingers crossed for a few more years!”

On the upcoming conflicts within the new board of directors: “There’s definitely going to be conflict and drama coming. Everyone on the board of directors is first and foremost a surgeon. So what they want to focus on may not necessarily fit in mind with the budgetary obligations that Jackson has to make the final call on. So he steps up, and has to be a man about it! So that’s going to makes some waves in the coming episodes.”

On the cast’s reaction to the renaming of the hospital to “Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital,” in honor of the late doctors Lexi Grey (Chyler Leigh) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dane):

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Transplant Wasteland.”

OK, so here’s some of the stuff that I loved in this episode. First of all, there was of course everything that was going on with Jackson (Jesse Williams) as he attempted to run the hospital on behalf of the Harper Avery Foundation. When Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) talked about how hard the job was and told Catherine (Debbie Allen) that he thought it might destroy Jackson, I wondered if that might be true. The poor guy was really struggling there at first. But then, Jackson stepped forward and not only did he take control when things got hot, he was also able to sit down and calmly run a meeting with a bunch of doctors who, just one day before, hadn’t been all that happy to have him there.

And don’t even get me started on him renaming the hospital “Grey Sloan Memorial,” because I’ll just start bawling again. As soon as he talked about a new name, I knew what he was going to do and I’m not afraid to admit that I was already crying before he even turned the paper around.

I also liked the storyline with Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey). That fight they had was pretty epic, but in the end when they both realized that they weren’t mad at each other and they each told the other to get over it, that was pretty awesome.

Another story that tops my list was April’s (Sarah Drew) patient and his desire to donate his organs before he’d actually died. It was heartbreakingly sad as so many of the stories on this show have been over the years, but it was also just as beautiful as so many of them have been.

More good stuff came from Alex (Justin Chambers), Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) with the whole kidney transplant fiasco. I liked that Meredith and Jo went off to get the kidney for Alex, especially when it turned out that it had hopped on a plane as “an unaccompanied minor” as Meredith put it. That story brought Alex’s anger to a boiling point and finally let Meredith dissipate it by apologizing to him and then promptly telling him to get over himself. Also, the way Jo was ready to fight for that kidney for Alex, plus the way he barged in on her date, makes me think that something could still happen between them, though it might be a long way away.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Owen, Jackson and Derek getting into a screaming match that ended with Owen quitting.

Thank you, TV gods.: Jackson taking over during the insanity in the hallway as everyone fought over the operating rooms.

Awk-ward: Heather pointing out to her patient that all transplanted hearts were hand-me-downs.

Hotness: Call me strange, but I found Hunt’s truck kind of sexy. It totally fits hits personality.

Fab-u-lous: The scene where April was telling her patient and his family about where all of his organs were going, and then them wheeling him into surgery. It was beautifully shot.

Can. Not. Wait.: Now that the worst appears to be over, I can’t wait to see the hospital go back to normal for a little while and deal with some interesting cases.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. Any episode that ends with me alternately wanting to cheer and then cry gets high marks from me.

How do you think Jackson did with running the hospital? What do you think of the hospital’s new name? Let me know in the comments below, I love hearing from you guys!

The latest major event in the series came in the form of the plane crash victims deciding to buy Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. The biggest surprise in the hospital’s new roster of leadership, however, was the appointment of Dr. Jackson Avery as the head of the Board of Directors.

“Right out of the gate, it’s not going well,” Jesse Williams, who plays Jackson, tells Celebuzz his character’s new power position.

“Nothing is solid,” he continues. “Everything is quick changing. You’re going to be Public Enemy No. 1 in a hospital, at least for a little while, at least for certain people.”

Williams says he was taken by surprise by the plot turn, which he learned for the the first time in front of producers and castmates during a table read. “I was totally shocked! I did not see it coming in any way, shape or form,” the 31-year-old says.

We spoke to Williams about his character’s current issues on-screen and off, including his thoughts on a Season 10 renewal for the series.

On Jackson’s tumultuous relationship with fellow doctor, April (Sarah Drew:) “I think we’re going to explore their feelings for each other and how they’re going to do that dance of not being together, and keeping in mind that they are friends… They might both have different memories of what happened and what drove them apart and that’s the issue. That’s not helpful and I think that that is something that might get revisited.”

But, in the long run? “Everybody doesn’t end up together. [The fans] want April and Jackson, ‘Apple Jacks,’ ‘Japril’ together, but that’s not necessarily going to work. Sometimes, those things take five years before people come back together. Who knows?”

On the other characters’ reactions to Jackson’s new position: “We might have somebody quit, we might have a little tension and some rivalries developing, might have less alliances between [characters] and it’s going to affect my relationship with everyone.”

On a Grey’s Anatomy renewal: ”We haven’t been officially been picked up for it, but I can’t see a scenario where we’re not.”

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9PM on ABC. For more information, visit the show site.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “This is Why We Fight.”

What did I love about this episode? First and foremost, I am really enjoying everything having to do with Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Callie (Sara Ramirez), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Cristina (Sandra Oh) banding together to buy the hospital. It sounded like a wild idea at first and I wondered if maybe on this episode something would happen to put the kibosh on the whole thing. I was very glad to see that didn’t happen though, because by the end of the episode I was completely on board.

If you think about it, so much has changed for this group over these past nine seasons and, in a way, them buying the hospital feels like just another natural part of their progression. What started out as a story about a bunch of interns trying to get through their first year has grown into a story about a group of doctors who are mostly equals. That could get stale eventually. But by having them buy the hospital, they are moving forward once again. I am a tad disappointed that this is going to apparently put another rift between Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina, but I have faith that they’ll make it through this just like they have every other barrier that has come between them.

Another reason I loved that storyline was for a couple of scenes it gave us in this episode. For instance, that scene in the van was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on this show ever. The way they moved the camera round and round and round (and round again) did make me a little sick, but it was totally worth it. Plus, the scene with the umbrellas outside was pretty cool, too. In fact, I thought the way they used rain as a backdrop throughout the entire episode was fantastic.

The storylines that I liked, but didn’t necessarily love, were Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) continuing to bond together while they worked to save a baby with the worst/best parents in the world (seriously, how awesome was the scene where the father called the mother a bitch and she asked for a maxi pad for him?). The show gave us a nice little bump in the road on the way to romance by introducing a suitor for Jo and I’m interested to see where that goes. I also got a kick out of Derek telling Shane (Gaius Charles) to deface all the posters to that they’d be taken down, as well as the scene where Cahill (Constance Zimmer) opened up to Owen about how he helped her get back into a surgery again.

Unfortunately, April (Sarah Drew) made it onto my list of things I didn’t like again. I was so excited when her new EMT beau said he was waiting for marriage, but then she had to go and ruin it by lying. She found the perfect man for her and now there’s no doubt that she just blew it. I mean, seriously, what better moment did she have then right then to tell him that her virginity was more of the reclaimed variety than actual? Would he really care? I kind of doubt it and if he did, then that would’ve been a good moment to find out, you know? It made me want to throw something at the TV, I was so mad at her.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: All of the doctors walking in to where Owen and Cahill were having their meeting with Pegasus and declaring they’d quit. Watch it again above.

Thank you, TV gods.: Cristina announcing that she was in and ready to try and buy the hospital with the rest of the group.

Awk-ward: Miranda discovering that it was Owen, and not the board, that had turned down her request.

Hotness: Owen and Cristina in bed. Owen asking her, “Is it this or is it this?” was unbelievably hot. I had to fan myself a little. Not gonna lie.

Fab-u-lous: The scene in the van. Need I really say more? Absolutely adored the way they used the camera going round and round to show us each doctor coming in to discuss the purchase.

Can. Not. Wait.: To see if these docs actually pull it off and start running their own hospital.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 8. Some incredibly great moments gave this one high marks for me.

What did you think of this episode? Are you excited by the prospect of the doctors buying the hospital and trying to run it themselves or do you think it’s a completely insane idea that needs to be stopped?

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “The Face of Change.”

What did I love about this episode? Oh, just a whole lot. Let’s start with the final minute because that’s probably the moment that I loved the most. After everything that the docs have been through recently, it might seem completely insane for Callie (Sara Ramirez) to suggest that she and her fellow millionaires buy the hospital. But when you think about it, it’s actually an ingenious plan. Talk about solving their problems in one fell swoop. Though I’m sure they’ll come up with a whole new crop of problems, but at least they wouldn’t be things like giving up patient care to convert to a Pegasus-run hospital.

The other thing I loved on this episode was seeing the group of doctors who worked together to save the little boy. Even people who haven’t been getting along recently were suddenly united to help. It was a great thing to see and I especially enjoyed some of the smaller moments it brought us, like April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) phone conversation, everyone struggling to open the ER doors, Meredith “accidentally” deleting the patient file, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) coming in and offering to use his code to get them the medicines they needed, and a bunch more scenes I could keep on listing all day. Derek said in the beginning of the episode that they were all like family and I think that storyline proved it.

Some stuff I liked was the storyline of Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jackson’s shared transgender case. In the midst of all the insanity involving their competition over being the new face of Seattle Grace, plus both of them helping out with the injured boy, it was great to see them working together on a case like that. I also got the biggest kick out of Callie and Richard’s little recon mission to the other Pegasus hospital. Alex discovering that he may actually like Jo (Camilla Luddington) was sweet, as was April kissing her EMT beau and Jackson observing it with a smile.

What did I not like about this episode? Nothing, really. I was sad that we only got to see a tiny bit of some characters, like Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Miranda (Chandra Wilson), but I also know that both of them have had episodes with major storylines featuring them recently, so I’m willing to forgive that.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Callie suggesting that they buy the hospital themselves. I know it’s a cliché to say it, but I’m not lying when I say that my jaw literally dropped when she said that.

Thank you, TV gods.: Derek walking in to the secret ER and offering to get them anything they needed to help the patient.

Awk-ward: Callie and Richard making up new names to get admitted into a Pegasus hospital.

Hotness: April making out with her cute EMT.

Fab-u-lous: Again, always hard with a show where everyone pretty much always wears scrubs, but I’m going with the suit Owen wore when helping Cahill with the tour. I especially enjoyed the tie.

Can. Not. Wait.: To see if the group agrees and tries to go through with buying the hospital.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. Between the moment where April asked Jackson to reopen the ER and the one where Callie suggested they buy the hospital, this was a strong episode for me.

Do you think Callie can convince the other docs to use their millions to buy the hospital? What do you think will happen if they do that? Can you imagine all of them trying to run Seattle Grace together?

But, it’s doubtful that any of them were expecting the most recent development from that crash. The hospital being held liable and having to pay millions to survivors, causing it to bring a special consultant to help them get over their monetary woes.

Enter one Dr. Alana Cahill, played by Constance Zimmer. Cahill is there to do whatever she can to keep Seattle Grace afloat, even if that means doing things that the doctors don’t like, such as shutting down their ER and installing cameras to watch their work and look for ways to cut costs.

On Thursday’s new episode, “The Face of Change,” Zimmer says that Cahill has got more plans up her sleeve. “Now that we’ve learned that Cahill is prepping the hospital to sell it, this episode is going to bring in potential buyers that are going to be looking at every nook and cranny to see if the hospital is worth taking over and saving.”

But that’s not all the docs will have to worry about. “In the meantime there are some competitions going on because we’re also trying to find the face of the new hospital. So you have doctors competing to see who can represent who the hospital,” Zimmer told Celebuzz.

Who could the new buyer be? Zimmer says there is one contender that viewers will find out about on the episode: a potential buyer called Pegasus.

“They are one of the possible, potential buyers. Everybody is trying to make the hospital seem more appealing,” Zimmer said, adding that two docs in particular are going to be up their own little scheme.

“Callie and Richard try and do their own investigative reporting by going to other hospitals that Pegasus has under their wing and seeing if it works.” Zimmer added.

There will also be some excitement when other doctors try to re-open Seattle Grace’s currently closed trauma unit. “The doors are closed, there is no equipment, everything is scattered,” Zimmer said.

“What’s nice about what you’re going to see [on this episode] is that you’re going to see people who have maybe not been working so well together over everything that has been happening at the hospital, maybe coming together over a common cause. How they go about it is fascinating and it makes you wonder if they are going to get away with it or not.”

Owen and Cahill had some bonding moments on the episode “Bad Blood,” and it looks like that friendship is going to continue to grow.

Zimmer said, “Right now Owen is pretty much [Cahill's] right-hand man and the only one that will allow her to do her job. If she’s going to open up to anyone, it’s Owen because I think he’s seen the sides of her that nobody else gets to see and also that she doesn’t reveal to anyone else. Because if she did, then she’d have a soft spot that everybody could poke at.”

Cahill has brought a lot of not-so-fun surprises, making some wonder if she’s done. “She’s never done,” the 42-year-old revealed. “If you’re going to write good television, bad circumstances definitely bring up good solutions. She’s gonna keep bringing the bad until she walks out the door. She’s there to do something and obviously in everybody’s eyes it seems bad but ultimately she’s just trying to make everybody happy which is a difficult thing to do as we all know.” Zimmer said.

Zimmer says it’s fun being the troublemaker sometimes. “I like that I just come in and stir up the pot and then you kind of see who floats and who sinks. It’s kind of fun to watch.” Zimmer said. But being the bad guy has its challenges as well. “I was very nervous that all of the amazing fans of Grey’s were going to start sending me hate mail and cursing my name.”

But there is an upside to playing Cahill as well. “But what was the most fun and the most rewarding was how much people have actually embraced her because she is making the doctors and Seattle Grace actually come together. She’s made them a united force so it’s been fun to bring a character in that starts out as one thing, but when she leaves it becomes so much bigger. I’ve really enjoyed that I’ve had a complete arc. To have a beginning, middle and an end within five episodes is kind of amazing, you don’t get that very often on television.” Zimmer said.

What have you thought of Cahill’s presence at Seattle Grace? Do you think that she’s been a positive influence on the doctors? Got any theories on what will happen if the potential buyer Pegasus takes over?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Bad Blood.”

Here’s what I loved in this episode. First of all, there was the whole storyline with Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cahill (Constance Zimmer). I liked that he wasn’t backing down to her in the beginning about how her crews were going to disrupt his doctors. Then they pulled off a nice trick with having her work with him in the O.R. to save a patient’s life. Between that and April (Sarah Drew) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) working together to cut the budget (another part I loved), it seemed like we were heading towards a nice resolution where the ER would be saved and all would be right with the world.

Ah, but that’s when they pulled the rug out from under us and gave us another big reveal. Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse for the Seattle Grace, it turns out that Cahill has been making all these changes to prep the hospital to be sold off to a buyer. What that will mean for all the doctors, I have no idea, but somehow I doubt it will be good.

I found the story of Cristina and Leah’s (Tessa Ferrer) patient mostly so-so. I don’t know why, but Leah was kind of pissing me off in this episode. I know that I should have been on her side and feel all upset that her patient was dying, but I just couldn’t seem to get past the fact that she immediately wanted to defy his wishes (at least according to his bracelet). I don’t share those beliefs but aren’t doctors supposed to respect those kinds of things, whether they like it or not? Cristina had the perfect attitude. She hated that she couldn’t give him blood, but she respected the patient.

The storyline with Richard (James Pickens, Jr.), Miranda (Chandra Wilson), and Meredith was mostly cute, though it did bring us the moment where Meredith realized her baby was kicking. So, maybe I should rate it slightly higher just for that scene alone. Yes, I got teary-eyed when that happened, don’t judge me.

I also found the storyline with Callie’s patient pretty sweet, too. I love that the girl wasn’t played as just a bratty kid. The more everyone talked to her, the more I felt that her issues were real ones. But at the same time, she did need a good kick in the butt to get over them and that’s exactly what Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) gave her.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Meredith’s baby kicking for the first time. Watch it again above.

Thank you, TV gods.: Arizona getting that girl out of her bed and walking.

Awk-ward: The hernia teacher guy screaming out that he didn’t care about patients. Oops.

Hotness: Owen standing up to Cahill in the elevator. I just love it when he gets all forceful like that.

Fab-u-lous: Miranda in that sweater. Haha, just kidding. This is always a challenge on a show where everyone wears scrubs, so I’ll have to go with Owen in his dress shirt and jacket in the end.

Can. Not. Wait.: To find out who the buyer is that’s interested in Seattle Grace Mercy West and what kind of changes they’re going to make to the hospital.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. Considering that I had loved or liked nearly every storyline, I’m giving this one fairly high marks.

So what did you think of “Bad Blood”? Were you on Leah’s side with the whole blood thing? Did you get emotional when Meredith’s baby kicked? What do you think will happen if Seattle Grace gets sold?

It looks like another intern on ABC’s hit drama Grey’s Anatomy is going to break more rules to do what they think is right for their patient on Thursday’s episode. The question is: Do they have the right to do it?

In the first sneak peek clip from the episode, “Bad Blood,” Cristina (Sandra Oh), is frantically working to save the life of an emergent patient when her intern Leah (Tessa Ferrer) discovers that the man is a Jehovah’s Witness and therefore cannot be given the blood that the doctors believe will save his life. Cristina and Leah try to plead with the boy’s parents to no avail. This is where things get interesting. Turns out intern Leah isn’t willing to let it go at that and decides to take things into her own hands. We see her sneaking blood, and it looks like she’s going to change it out for the other IV, but it’s unclear if she actual does it or not.

In the second sneak peek clip from the episode, we find Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) working in the lab with Miranda (Chandra Wilson) and Richard (James Pickens, Jr.). Miranda is trying to make small talk, but Meredith is more than a little bit distracted. Though Meredith tries to hide it, when she runs out of the room suddenly, Miranda is quick to follow her. It seems that Meredith feels a flutter that makes her think that something is wrong with the baby, and that she’s being punished for getting too comfortable with her pregnancy.

Between those two clips, it looks like this is going to be one heavy episode. But whether or not Leah actually will give her patient the blood that is against his religion remains to be seen. It is also unclear if Meredith’s baby is truly in trouble or if she is just feeling some understandable anxiety about her pregnancy.

What do you think now that you’ve seen the clips from this episode? Do you think that Leah will give the blood to her patient? If she does, what kind of ramifications do you think that will cause? Also, do you think that something is wrong with Meredith’s baby or could she just be feeling its first kicks?

Grey’s Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.

Ratings: Say what you want about American Idol’s flagging audience, it still wins both Wednesday and Thursday nights for FOX in both total viewers and the all-important advertiser-coveted 18 to 49-year-old audience. And now, there’s one more reason to keep it around. Thursday’s episode was down 9 percent from last week’s episode, but it helped attract 6.9 million viewers to Glee’s winter return and a 35 percent increase in the key demo.
Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Walking in a Dream.”

OK, so of course, I’m going to talk about my favorite parts of this episode and those would have to be everything involving Arizona’s phantom leg pain. Not because I particularly enjoy seeing her in pain, especially after she’s been through so much, but because it created such an interesting storyline. I don’t know a lot about phantom pain and I found myself fascinated by all the things she had to go through on this episode.

I also loved that part of the story, because it gave Owen the chance to do more than just be an accessory for Cristina (Sandra Oh). Hey now, don’t start throwing rotten fruit at me. If you’ve read any of my other Grey’s recaps, then you know I love me some Cristina and Owen romance. But, it’s nice to see him be the good guy that we know he is every once in a while. The way he stood up for Arizona and kept helping her work through her issues was great and it made me love him more than I already do. Watch a pivotal scene again above.

Another favorite part of this episode was everything involving Meredith and her raging hormones. I wondered when they were going to start using her pregnancy as a means for comedic relief and they did that very well on this episode. From her being horny, to crying at the drop of a hat (whether happy or angry), I got a kick out of her story. Plus she got on a plane (yay!) and Derek did his first big surgery (yay!).

Under the so-so bits of this episode, I’d have to say it was the whole storyline involving the hospital’s financial woes. It makes sense and is certainly an interesting story arc, but again I can’t call it a favorite when it’s causing so much emotional trauma for everyone. It was bad enough that the docs had an accountant following them around all day, but when Miranda (Chandra Wilson) made that crack to Derek about not everyone having millions of dollars, I knew that things are going to get very tense between the doctors who have the money and the ones who don’t.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Arizona’s leg turning into glass and shattering. I know it was just a dream, but still.

Thank you, TV gods.: Derek’s patient waking up with his hearing and with a face that worked. Yay Derek!

Awk-ward: Shane (Gaius Charles) trying to make conversation with Meredith by describing all the things that she would be going through in her second trimester. This guy is the king of awkward.

Hotness: The new EMT. Can we say “yum”?

Fab-u-lous: Arizona and Callie sitting on the beach in their bathing suits and enjoying some fruity drinks — in their imagination.

Can. Not. Wait.: To see what happens if the hospital tries to shut down their E.R.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 9. For the Owen and Arizona storyline alone, this one gets high marks from me.

So what did you think of “Walking in a Dream”? Got any favorite bits, so-so bits, okay bits or least favorite bits of your own? Do you think Arizona’s phantom pain is over now that she’s learned to handle it? Let me know in the comments below, I love hearing from you guys!
