Another day, another set of famous faces spotted on the Anchorman: The Legend Continues set. This time it’s Kirsten Dunst and Jim Carrey.

The film, which will reunite original Anchorman stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, has been filming a fight scene all week in Atlanta’s Woodruff Park. A nod to the famous fight scene in the first movie, this fight will apparently feature cameos from every single actor in Hollywood. Already this week Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Sacha Baron Cohen and Kanye West have been spotted on set — all dressed as news anchors. It appears that Carrey will also appear as a newscaster, while Dunst looks to be playing an angel who appears on a rooftop nearby.

Yesterday’s shoot was a mini-reunion for Dunst and Carrey, who co-starred in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind together.

Also set to star in the highly anticipated sequel are John C. Reilly, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Harrison Ford, Will Smith and Liam Neeson. The sheer mass of cameos in Anchorman 2 make it like Hollywood’s version of a high school reunion, reuniting cast members from Mean Girls, Walk Hard, Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock and K-19: The Widowmaker.

Last September, Koechner told Celebuzz exclusively that the movie’s premise centers around the advent of the 24-hour cable news network. The film is expected to hit theaters this December.

May 4th is celebrated by many Star Wars fans as Star Wars Day. Don’t get why? Say “May the fourth” out loud, then compare that to, “May the force be with you.”

Ahhhhhhhhh, there we go.

It’s safe to say there are no bad feelings about this piece of Star Wars news.

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are all set to reprise their famous roles, 20 years after Return of the Jedi opened in theaters.

But keep it on the down low, according to George Lucas, who accidently let the cat out of the bag in a recent interview.

“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation,” Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek this week when asked about who would appear in Episode VII.

“Maybe I’m not supposed to say that,” he then added. “I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we’re negotiating with them . . . I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”

So to sum it up: J.J. Abrams will direct Episode VII; Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) will write the words; Princess Leia’s hairdo will come back in style.

While the third thing is still up for debate (check back in two years, when the film comes out), longtime Star Wars fans can rejoice in the return of Leia, Hans Solo and the original Luke Skywalker — whatever age or form they will be in Episode VII.

It’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan.

Not only are we getting J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: Episode VII, but Disney and Lucasfilm have announced their plans to develop standalone films based on the franchise. So which characters are first to get their own spin-off movie?

Han Solo and his nemesis, Boba Fett.

What are these films about? When do they take place? Read on to find out…

According to EW, Solo’s film will focus on the “wisecracking smuggler’s origin story”, and will require a younger actor to take over the role originated by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars trilogy.

 EW also reports that Boba Fett’s film will be an adventure that finds the bounty hunter “at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum.”

Because Fett met his demise in 1983′s Return of the Jedi, his film will reportedly take place sometime between the events of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, but before Jedi. Solo’s origin story will apparently be set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Given the timeframe of these standalone films, EW points out that fans might see popular characters like Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt or Chewbacca make an appearance.

Screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back) and Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) are developing standalone Star Wars films, but no word yet if they are working on these projects. Celebuzz will keep you posted…

The only thing people are talking more about than the announcement of a new Star Wars movie is what that movie will be about.

Since Disney announced both their purchase of Lucasfilm and their plan to release Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015 — the first chapter in a new trilogy – the internet has been speculating non-stop about possible story details.

While specifics have yet to materialize, it’s safe to assume that elements from the original trilogy will crossover into the new one.

Here are 6 things Celebuzz wants to see in Episode VII.

1. A Lack of Trade Federation Anything

The only thing “Trade Federation this” and “space tariffs that” did to the Star Wars prequels was get in the way of the things fans love about Star Wars.

Audiences don’t travel to that galaxy, far, far away for an intergalactic version of CSPAN. They go to watch space opera in all its four quadrant-pleasing glory; to see lightsabers clash and underdog heroes take down larger-than-life villains.

A good Star Wars movie aims to make its audience feel like a kid again. Let’s hope Episode VII has that sense of wonderment in its sights.

2. A Fun-but-Grounded Tone

In the wake of The Dark Knight’s success, every cinematic tentpole based on an intellectual property must be “gritty.” As a result, Hollywood has confused an aesthetic choice with being the thing that can propel a story forward. There’s something off about that way of thinking, and if any movie can restore the balance there, it’s Star Wars.

Less Jar Jar-esque antics and more Empire Strikes Back undertones; make the drama personal, and therefore the stakes all the more compelling. Kick off this new trilogy by doing what Episodes IV-VII did best: Ground the action and drama with the characters. That way, every victory and defeat feels like one of our own.

If Disney can do that, then they have already begun to pave the way for a potential classic.

3. Droids!

Specifically, C3P0 and R2D2.

These two characters and a certain asthmatic Sith Lord acted as a bridge between the original trilogy and the prequels. Celebuzz would bet Jabba’s third chin that these droids will most likely service a similar function in Episode VII.

4. Darth Vader

Vader is more than just an iconic sci-fi villain, he represents the thematic fulcrum by which every Star Wars movie thus far hinges upon.

Aside from the aforementioned droids and space, Vader is the one constant Star Wars movies – and their fans – can’t seem to live without. Yeah, we know – Vader died and became a “Force Ghost” in Return of the Jedi. It’s the job of the filmmakers to figure out an organic way to resurrect the character in the new film, not ours.

We just hope they do it in a way that feels earned; in a way that preserves the character’s redemptive struggle while enhancing it in the presence of whatever drama Episode VII has in store.

5. New Heroes and Villains

The shadows of Skywalker and Vader will be all over this film, which means it will have to create characters – good and evil – that can weather the inevitable comparison to those that came before.

It’s not an easy task, but it is nonetheless a vital one. The prequels lacked any real characters for viewers to latch on to, in the way that they did with Han Solo, Boba Fett or Darth Vader. If this new trilogy wants to thrive, it has to start with the people in it.

Don’t worry about making them iconic, Disney. Just make them likable and flawed; audiences will take care of the rest.

6. The Rise of The Jedi

Episode VII’s story is rumored to take place at least 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. If true, that would mean two things: The Sith have fallen – maybe even for good – and that the Jedi have risen.

Celebuzz would like to see this new Jedi order in its prime, maybe even Luke Skywalker serving a more Obi-Wan role this time around.  Then show us a threat that puts The Force off balance and the Jedi on alert, as a new enemy emerges that tests them in ways the prequels never quite pulled off.

And if this new threat has ties to the Sith, even better. Make it happen, Disney. You are our only hope!

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, who dons a secret superhero identity to fight crime and make amends for the wrongs he has done in his past.  A hero unlike any other, and a show you simply can’t miss.

When Superman Returns was auditioning for the role of Clark Kent, the filmmakers has a tough time locking down a rising young actor as none of them wanted to be tied down to a multi-picture commitment that could last a decade or more — not to mention be typecast as fanboy-bait. No wonder actors were leery of franchise films in general.

However, actors today are so eager to star in franchise movies that several performers are even starring in more than one franchise. Take Chris Pine, for instance: Though he has a solid starring role in the Star Trek movies as the young James Kirk, he also started filming Jack Ryan, a film meant to reboot the Tom Clancy spy franchise with the 32-year-old playing the title CIA agent.

Why do actors suddenly want to be in a franchise, let alone two? For one, the pay is good and sequels mean a guaranteed paycheck for years.

For another, they’re almost surefire hits, which in turn make an actor marketable for other movies. And if an actor is in more than one film, he can avoid being typecast; the impulsive, intuitive James Kirk bears little resemblance to the cool, analytical Jack Ryan.

So who else is juggling multiple franchises?

Pine is just one of many stars handling two or more franchises right now.

There’s also Daniel Craig, who has both the James Bond movies and the Millennium trilogy, which started with 2011′s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Robert Downey Jr. is actually working on three franchises now. Besides starring as Tony Stark in the Iron Man and Avengers films and the titular character in Guy Richie‘s Sherlock Holmes series, he’s also signed a deal last fall to play Perry Mason, in what would presumably be a series of movies about the sleuthing defense attorney.

Unemployable a decade ago because his past drug history had made him uninsurable, Downey seems to be making up for lost time and taking advantage of his current box office popularity while it lasts.

Such multitasking seems to come into vogue about once a decade. Ten years ago, the Lord of the Rings movies featured several actors (Christopher Lee, Ian McKellen, and Hugo Weaving) who were working on other franchise movies at the same time — Lee had the Star Wars prequels, McKellen the X-Men movies, and Weaving the Matrix trilogy.

Before that, the 1980s were a heyday for franchise-jugglers like Harrison Ford (who alternated between Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies) and Sylvester Stallone, who developed the Rocky and Rambo franchises.

Nowadays, actors are worried about being thrown out of work altogether by digitization, as movies like Avatar seem to herald a future when actors are replaceable by pixels. No wonder so many stars are taking the path of Avatar’s Sam Worthington, who’s switching back and forth between his role in James Cameron’s otherworldly franchise and his Perseus in the Titans movies. From ancient Greece to the interstellar future, he’s got his bases covered for the next few years.

Although his character is, alternately, a formidable ally and a bit of comic relief, John Rhys-Davies’ Sallah remains one of the most memorable – and important – characters in the Indiana Jones universe.

His scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade rank among some of the most memorable in the series’ history, and provide its main character with a counterpart who offers more than blind complicity.

Rhys-Davies, meanwhile, has provided precisely that sort of support in films and television shows for decades, including appearances in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the miniseries Shogun and the cult TV show Sliders.

The actor recently spoke with Celebuzz about his experiences on the Indiana Jones films, which are being released this week on Blu-ray in the new Complete Collection.

What life-threatening ailment did Rhys-Davies survive in order to see Raiders to completion?

“I’ve just been looking at the behind the scenes additional material,” Rhys-Davies told us. “And it just strikes me how extraordinary it really was.”

“You had the young genius of Steven being assisted quietly by his friend [George Lucas] in the background, and he’s just effortlessly creating these images,” he continued. “And what comes across even more in the behind the scenes stuff is how Harrison is very deliberately sculpting this iconic character. I mean, it’s not a flash in the pan; it’s real. He’s thought about it, he’s refining it. It’s almost sometimes almost co-directing the scenes to get the hard edge of this iconic figure. It’s wonderful to watch.”

Celebuzz: When you started working on Raiders of the Lost Ark, did you have the sense that this was going to turn into the cultural phenomenon that it has become?

John Rhys-Davies: If you read the first script, it was certainly unlike any script I’d ever seen. It read more like a comic book – there were pages and pages of scene description, but there wasn’t that much dialogue. Much of the dialogue arrived pretty much the day that you arrived on the set, or maybe you’d rehearsed it a few days before or something like that. But it was really very much a work in progress all of the way through. But did one have an idea that it was so oddball? I remember an exchange I had with my marvelous old agents, and I remember them saying to me, “Well, what did you think?” And thinking of Steven’s critically unacclaimed 1941 which had just preceded it — I mean, now we look back on 1941 as pretty much a masterpiece in its own right, but at the time it was, “Oh, the boy wonder has shot his wad – he’s run out of steam.” But I said to him, this is so unusual – it’s either going to be the biggest disaster of all time, or it’s going to set a new fashion in filmmaking. And it sure did [laughs].

CB: Looking at the character in the two films, were you grateful or disappointed to see him as more of a humorous character in Last Crusade? Because he’s different in the second film.

JRD: In a way I prefer the character of the first one to the second. But you knew that you had the accumulated power of Sallah from the first one, so you have that character established, and then you need to service the situation with this new set up with the new family with Indy and his father in the thing. It makes a different balance, and in a sense Sallah wasn’t as important in that. He’s there to make up numbers in a way, but he wasn’t quite as integral as I think perhaps he was in the first one.

CB: More importantly, how was it working with the monkey? He was surprisingly important to the plot of that film.

JRD: Vital. But it’s very difficult working with monkeys, because in order to demonstrate your lack of hostility to me, you smile, and when you smile you bear your teeth. But when a monkey smiles, he’s bearing his teeth as a sign of aggression. And you’ve got to think monkey as well [laughs]! So it’s very hard – I mean, it’s a small monkey surrounded by bigger monkeys, who all are showing signs of aggression by bearing their teeth. You’ve really got to do what you can to keep them calm and show nothing that they would perceive of as aggression, because they will respond with fear or counter-aggression.

CB: Looking at the supplemental materials on the new set, was there any behind the scenes material that you had forgotten?

JRD: I had forgotten bits where the cook gets to see me and he comes out to shoot me and I get captured after the Well of Souls. There are a couple of deleted sequences where he is given the order to tie me to a tree and shoot me and he can’t – he raises the rifle and he can’t do it and lets me go. But at that particular time, I recall – this is sort of disgraceful – we had the worst case of dysentery I ever had. I’ve never been so ill in my life, and I had tunnel vision. I couldn’t really do much at all, and I remember Steven saying, “John could you get just down a bit lower to give them a better eyeline?” And as I got down to give him a better outline, I filled my djellaba [an Arab tunic] in front of 200 people – and I didn’t care [laughs].

CB: Did you really have to act through that or were you given time to recover?

JRD: Well, it was going through the whole company, and 24 hours later I’m lying in this bed into which I have vomited and excreted, and I’m dying. My temperature is way up, there 105, at least, and I tell you I lost 22 pounds in two days. If you lose ten percent of your body weight, you can enter into a spiral of sort of irreversible kidney damage, all of that sort of stuff. You die. But it wasn’t quite ten percent of my body weight. I was a bit heavier than that, so I just got away with it. But with antibiotics and hydration, that changes it all. Once you can rehydrate someone they can make a pretty quick recovery.

CB: Having gone through that experience, was it ultimately worth it?

JRD: We have the ethos anyway, the show goes on. And unless you are literally unable to get out of bed – I mean, if they’d have called me that particular day, I could have died. But unless you’re dying, you get on and do it, and we cheer at that. That’s what we expect of each other, and it’s part of our tradition. But I love it anyway. If an actor gets a chance of being part of one great thing in his life, he’s lucky. I mean, the chance to do Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Shogun and Lord of the Rings and Sliders and a few other bits and parts, in a way it sort of cobbles together in a kind of not too shabby career, does it?

CB: You mentioned Lord of the Rings. Was there ever any chance Gimli might have turned up in the Hobbit films?

JRD: I think I put the kibosh on that very early on because I’d had so much trouble with my [make-up]. I mean, I’ll go back and grovel now that I see he’s extending it to three, but I really couldn’t take that prosthetic again – it just really sort of wipes my face out. It takes all of the skin around my eyes, and I couldn’t really do that again. But I would love to work with him again. I would love to work with both of them, actually.

Harrison Ford and his ladylove Calista Flockhart are moving up and moving on!

The A-list couple have listed their Brentwood, Calif., humble abode for $8.2 million. The gated property features a long private drive, gorgeous gardens and sweeping views of both Los Angeles and the ocean. The home boasts seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms with polished wood floors, paneled walls, extensive furniture grade built-ins — and four impressive fireplaces.

According to The Real Estalker, the 69-year-old Indiana Jones star acquired the mansion in 1983 for $1 million. Ford and Flockhart, 47, have since added upgrades to the Colonial crib thanks to the actor’s passion for wood-working.

Many times we don’t think of the hard work that goes on behind-the-scenes of our favorite movies. To recognize some of these extraordinary talent,  the 5th Annual Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards presented by Los Angeles Confidential magazine at Conga Room, honoring off screen talent was held this past weekend in Hollywood and Celebuzz got to speak with a couple of the brilliant honorees.

The red carpet event brought us costume designer Janie Bryant, prop master Russell Bobbitt, stunt choreographer Vic Armstrong, screenwriter Yasmina Reza, among others. We got the chance to talk to Mark Ricker, production designer of the movie The Help, about what his challenges were in creating the setting for the movie:

“It’s really about creating the world that supports the characters, that was the challenge. Not that it was difficult, but that we had all the readers of the book and we wanted to do honor to what they imagined. It’s a unique position to be the set designer and bring it to life.”

Chris Weitz, director of A Better Life who was one of the main honorees told Celebuzz that it felt fantastic being honored and went on to state:

“…especially because this is a series of awards that are dedicated to people who don’t usually get recognized, which is to say crew members who are doing fantastic work often unrecognized. A lot of the people who are being honored tonight have done many more movies than I have and those are the people whom I’ve learned how to make movies from and it means a lot to me.”

Some major celebs in attendance were the Mad Men heartthrob Jon Hamm, mega movie star Harrison Ford, executive producer for the Transformers movie series Michael Bay, well known writer/director/producer JJ Abrams and Puss in Boots star Antonio Banderas.

In a week where Ryan Gosling broke up a street fight and Kate Winslet carried Richard Branson‘s 90-year-old mother from a burning house, it got us wondering what other stars are real life heroes.

Finally, Shia LaBeouf has said something meaningful in one of his interviews.

But fans of the popular Indiana Jones movies may not be too happy about what he has to say. In an interview with the BBC, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star revealed that a fifth Indiana Jones movie is on the way.

“Steven [Spielberg] just said that he cracked the story on it before I left and I think they’re gearing that up.”

To be fair, while many people bashed the last installment of the successful franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, it did gross almost $800 million worldwide.

No plot details or characters have been announced. There have been many rumors that Shia is gearing to replace Harrison Ford as the lead in the coming film. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford and actress Calista Flockhart are engaged to be married, People magazine reports.

After close to a decade of dating, Ford reportedly popped the question to the Brothers & Sisters star over Valentines Day Holiday.

Reps for the couple could not be reached for comment.

Ford has four children from two previous marriages. Flockhart adopted her son Liam in 2001, and has never tied the knot.
