Albus Dumbledore, is that really you?

Harry Potter fans take note — err, flight? Hogwarts’s faithful headmaster has stepped out of the pages of author J.K. Rowling‘s beloved series and into the streets of sunny California. Well, sort of.

Thanks to Oberon Zell-Ravenheart, the world’s first and only wizard academy, the Grey School of Wizardry, is now open for classes in Cotati, Calif. (We kid you not, so gather up those spell books!)

Zell’s — who serves as headmaster — school has been recognized as an academic establishment and features 16 different education departments, teaching aspiring wizards and witches on such topics as “alchemy, beastmastery, horse-whispering, wand-making and spell casting.” Those who attend will also have the opportunity to be split into four ancient houses: Winds, Undines, Gnomes and Salamanders. And staying in sync with Harry’s fictional syllabus, students will also be taught to defend themselves against the Dark Arts.

“If you’ve ever read Harry Potter and wondered if wizards really do walk among us, perhaps behind a secret train platform, or in secret communities, I can tell you that we are absolutely real,” said Zell, a former school teacher and counselor.

Some of Zell’s colleagues have even credited him as “the real Dumbledore,” in his quest to make the wizarding world of Harry Potter come to life. “In the magic community I’m referred to as the real Dumbledore,” Zell said. “but before Harry Potter, people just called me Merlin, or Gandalf.”

Beyond the Black Rainbow (Magnolia)

The One-Liner: Panos Cosmatos’ psychedelic odyssey arrives on home video, ensuring that those who want to watch it while using mind-altering substances do so in a safe environment. (Not that we encourage that.)

Picture Perfect? A terrific transfer beautifully preserves Cosmatos’ trippy visuals.

What Else Is There? Extended scenes add plenty of visual splendor, while a commentary track by Cosmatos unearths some of the creative and conceptual foundations for the film’s unique storytelling.

How Badly Do I Want It? Not a movie for everybody, but by now our description probably convinced you that it’s either definitely for you or definitely not.

Ghosts of the Abyss (Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: James Cameron followed up his trip to Titanic with this 3D documentary about the ocean’s great mysteries.

Picture Perfect? Although the film utilized 3D technology that predates (a little) the cameras that are now an industry standard, the high-definition transfer offers a clean, clear and engaging visual landscape.

What Else Is There? A single featurette, “Reflections of the Deep” offers additional historical and technical perspective on Cameron’s undersea voyage, even as a 90-minute version expands the journey.

How Badly Do I Want It? Certainly not as exciting as Titanic, but it might be a bonus featurette if you heart goes on after watching his 1997 Oscar winner.

The Harry Potter 8-Film Collection (Warner Home Video)

The One-Liner: Fans of the Harry Potter franchise can get a comprehensive fix (if not an overdose) with this expansive collection that includes all of the films.

Picture Perfect? Most of the transfers have existed in one release or another so there’s no significant improvement, but most of the films looked terrific to begin with so there’s nothing here to disappoint.

What Else Is There? There are enough bonus materials to choke a hippogriff. A bonus disc featuring shorts such as “When Harry Left Hogwarts” and “The Harry Potters You Never Met” gives fans new insights into the creative process and legacy of the series.

How Badly Do I Want It? Really, really bad – especially since the last few films won’t be released in “Ultimate Edition” versions – but if you’ve waited until now this is a great holiday request.

Snow White and the Huntsman (Universal Studios Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: Off-screen controversy notwithstanding, Kristen Stewart’s was the more serious of this spring’s dueling Snow White projects, featuring Chris Hemsworth as her titular companion.

Picture Perfect? Strong contrasts and rich colors bring the film to life on the small screen thanks to a detailed and well-rendered high-definition transfer.

What Else Is There? An extended version adds a few minutes of footage and even fewer real moments of value, while a commentary track gives director Rupert Sanders an opportunity to champion his rendition of the iconic fantasy figure.

How Badly Do I Want It? It’s definitely worth a rental but unless you’re a huge K-Stew fan this may or may not be a must-own.

Titanic 3D (Paramount Home Entertainment)

The One-Liner: James Cameron’s award-winning epic arrives on Blu-ray in 2- and 3D versions, giving fans an even more immersive experience.

Picture Perfect? In any dimension this film is a stunner, thanks to a painstaking restoration that beautifully augments Russell Carpenter’s incredible cinematography.

What Else Is There? Two spanking-new documentaries and an hour of deleted scenes allow your experience with the film to (seemingly) never end, but all of the new content is smart and insightful.

How Badly Do I Want It? Honestly? Really badly, because the movie holds up like gangbusters, the presentation is reference-quality and the special features are immersive.

Emma Watson fans got a look at the actress’ first big post-Harry Potter role Wednesday when Lionsgate released a new clip from The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The film, which co-stars Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin), follows a young man’s journey through high school as he experiences adolescent romance, drug experimentation and suicide.

What happens when a Harry Potter alum meets Percy Jackson?

In the clip, Watson’s character Sam joins her step-brother Patrick (Miller) in a toast to Charlie (Lerman), the “wallflower” of the film’s title. Patrick leads the tribute, observing of Charlie, “You see things and you understand. You’re a wallflower.”

Charlie responds, “I didn’t think anyone noticed me.”

Patrick reassures him as Sam invites him to join their social group: “Welcome to the island of Misfit Toys,” she says.

Happy birthday, Rupert Grint! The Harry Potter actor turned 24 today.

Grint got his start starring as red-haired wizard Ron Weasley in one of the most successful movie franchises of all-time, Harry Potter. But after more than a decade in the business, we’ve seen Grint grow from a mischievous little boy to a b0nafide star.

In  honor of Grint’s big day, Celebuzz has pulled some of his most memorable quotes — and it wasn’t easy. There’s a reason the actor is known for his wisecracks.

The world was first introduced to Emma Watson in 2000 when Warner Bros. announced that the then 11-year-old actress would play Hermione Granger in its Harry Potter series. Ron, and Ginny, and Malfoy! Oh my!

The Harry Potter cast reunited to celebrate Warner Bros’s studio tour grand opening in Watford, England this weekend. Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, and Bonnie Wright all stepped out to welcome wizards and muggles alike to visit the film’s former sets and relics. Located outside of London, the tour allows fans to visit magical places from the film like Diagon Alley and Dumbledore’s office.

So, where was Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe?

The actor swapped his Potter spectacles for Allen Ginsberg’s! Earlier this month, Daniel was seen hard at work filming Kill Your Darlings, a biopic revolving around three famous American poets, in New York City. The film also stars indie starlet Elizabeth Olsen. 

The cast of Harry Potter is all grown up, and one of them is facing adult legal woes. According to the Huffington Post, Jamie Waylett – who played the resident bully Vincent Crabbe in six of the eight Potter movies — has been sentenced to two years in prison after participating in the north London riots on Aug. 8 as part of what HuffPo is calling a “small gang” of four.

The jury at London’s Wood Green Crown Court found the actor guilty of “violent disorder,” but charges were dropped in regards to him “intending to destroy or damage property with a fire bomb he was holding.” BBC News is also reporting that Jamie also got 12 months for “handling stolen goods” as he was reportedly sipping from a stolen bottle of champagne during the riot. 

Judge Simon Carr said of the events that lead to Jamie’s prison sentence (via BBC News):

“A considerable amount has been said about what happened over those few days. Anyone watching the footage in this case can only imagine the mayhem that took place on the streets. You chose to go out on to the streets on what was the third day of the violence.”

Meanwhile, his lawyer Emily Dummatt said of her client, “Although he had the good fortune to be in the Harry Potter films, it turned out to be not so good fortune.”

This isn’t Jamie’s first offense. The 22-year-old actor was also convicted of being in possession of marijuana. 

Our favorite onscreen couples – Harry Potter‘s Rupert Grint and Emma Watson along with real-life lovers Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – top Forbes list of Hollywood’s Top-earning Screen Couples.

The love-hate relationship of blockbuster couple Ron and Hermoine played by Rubert and Emma came in at No. 1 as the Potter films raked in about 4.2 billion worldwide.

Who came in a very close second?

It’s the Twilight series love story between human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, played by none other than KStew and RPattz (as you know, they’re also an offscreen couple). This Saga has so far brought in $2.5 billion worldwide, but they still have another installment left to go. Part two of Breaking Dawn hits theaters in November 2012.

To celebrate the release of the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, on Blu-Ray and DVD, Celebuzz had the pleasure of heading down to Orlando, Florida this past weekend and got to catch up with a number of cast members at the epic theme park. The red carpet was rolled out (right through the streets of Hogsmeade, no less!) and a slew of stars from the film came out for one last hurrah.

From their first reactions to seeing the theme park, to offering words of wisdom for the Hunger Games cast, we chatted with Rupert Grint, Jason Isaacs (aka Lucious Malfoy), and many more!

Although millions of fans were left devastated when the Harry Potter film series came to an end this past summer, fear not — as this is only the beginning of HP’s legacy!

With the release of the eighth and final film (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part II) on Blu-Ray and DVD Friday November 11th, Celebuzz was lucky enough to chat with James and Oliver Phelps (who portray George and Fred Weasley in the films) at — wait for it — the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

That’s right, we sipped some Butterbeer (delish!), stopped by Hogsmead (so fun!), then sat down with the guys to talk about all things Harry Potter.

How does it feel to be back here now that all the films are done?
James Phelps: It doesn’t really feel like it’s ended. There’s always something going on, and there’s always such excitement around the park.

How did you feel the first time you came to the park?
James: We were a lot like everyone else. We just kind of looked around in amazement. We had done some stuff to prepare for the park a couple years ago, like recording for rides.
Oliver Phelps: Yeah, we thought it would be good, but in the other sense we just thought it would be a few things with Harry Potter stickers on them. Then you come here, and the attention to detail is incredible. Like for example, on the film sets, you’d knock on the wall and it’d be hollow, whereas here, it’s real.

What would you recommend to doing first?
JP: The Dragon’s Challenge is pretty fun it’s obviously the main ride. There are other great parts, but we made the mistake of doing them all at once.
OP: Yeah, we get to go to the front of the line, which is great in theory, but you get it done in like 20 or 30 minutes.
JP: Not great for the stomach.

What are some of your craziest fan encounters?
JP: The premiere in London was pretty crazy. People kind of saw it as an end to their childhood.
OP: Yeah we we’re kind of like, “It’s ok!”

What was it like to see your character die in the last film? Was it emotional?
JP: It wasn’t emotional because I filmed it. As I filmed it, I just kind of lied there and went to sleep. [Laughs].
OP: I think it was emotional for everyone else. The reaction really just kind of hit home for everyone.

Was there any death in the last one that was particularly hard for you to watch?
OP: I mean Snape’s death was really hard-hitting for a lot of people.

Hunger Games, another book series turned (soon-to-be) film is getting ready to hit theaters, and there have been a lot of comparisons to Harry Potter. Do you have any advice for the cast and the journey they’re about to embark on?
JP: Whatever you can do, do it. We definitely have the “You can sleep when you’re dead,” mentality. When we go on press tours, it very much just like “go here, do this, do that,” because it’s pretty unique.
OP: Just run with it and enjoy it.

Are there any moments from the books that you wish made it to the films?
OP: There’s a couple. Definitely the swamp scene from The Goblet of Fire.
JP: It’s hard to say, because even with the first one, if they put everything in the film it would be like seven hours long and that’s the shortest book of the series.

We’re sure there are some people who would sit down and watch the whole thing.
JP: I think there would be. [Laughs]

These films are pretty dark, what were some funny on set moments?
JP: I remember in The Order of the Phoenix, there’s a really serious scene and they’re getting reactions from about 20 people, and the camera pans down and ends on Rupert [Grint] and he just starts laughing.

Would you guys considering going to back to the red hair ever again?
JP and OP: No. [Laughs]
JP: It’s funny because when we first got the role, no one really believed that we did. It wasn’t until we kind of showed up with the red hair that people started to take us seriously.

Are you longing for more Harry Potter? Well, don’t fret just yet! The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 DVD and Blu-Ray will finally hit shelves on November 11, 2011 and an exlcusive 4-disc set is coming to Target. Besides the final flick, fans who pick up the Target copy will also get a behind the scenes look at the making of the last Harry Potter movie!

In the 48-minute documentary appropriately titled When Harry Left Hogwarts, filmmaker Morgan Matthews talks to the film’s stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson about their last few days shooting the epic. The three we’re excited (and a little nervous) for their futures, but were clearly nostalgic about their time at Hogwarts. Check out the trailer above, and be sure to grab a kleenex, it’s a tear jerker!

In the trailer, Harry himself feels that since everyone’s bond on the films will come to an end that they will have to re-establish their personal relationships without the flicks as a focal point. Besides her performance as Hermione Granger, Emma will definitely leave something behind:

“I feel part of my soul, my whole being will always be in this place [Hogwarts].”

The trio also fear that they won’t be able to break away from their famous roles. Rupert noted that the eight HP films have taken almost half of his entire life to complete! Emma also adds that she feels as if people are waiting for her to “screw up”. The 21-year-old is on the right track. She has a small role in the upcoming biopic My Week With Marilyn and she’ll be starring in The Perks of Being A Wallflower out next year.

We’re more than a little sad that Harry Potter has come to an end. The Celebuzz staffers may be full-grown adults, but this series was anything but just kid’s stuff!

Now that the movie franchise has concluded, there has already been some talk about rebooting the series. What better way to shake things up than move the magic Stateside?

Although the Harry Potter series have come to a close, it doesn’t stop Freddie Stroma (who played heartthrob Cormac McLaggen in the series) from making girls swoon. He currently stars as Luke, the Prince Charming figure, in A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song. Co-star Megan Park even gushed to Celebuzz, “He’s incredibly sweet. It wasn’t hard pretending to be attracted to him!”

Seeing so, we decided to sit down with the hunky Brit to chat about his English charm and life beyond of the wizarding world.

Walk us through your last day of shooting for Harry Potter.

Mine wasn’t too bad. I think for those guys–Dan, Emma, and Rupert–they started when they were nine or ten so it had formed their entire life. I wasn’t there when they had their final wrap day so I didn’t get to see that—probably for the best though because I’d be very emotional! It was okay but it was sad. I’ve spent definitely a long time with that lot and they’re such beautiful people.

 How do you feel now that it’s over?

It was definitely very sad leaving but at the same time it was nice to see now how the actors go on and do different things. It’s nice to see people moving on as well and being allowed to show off their other talents as well. I was sad when I watched the final one. I was like, “Oh, so this is over. It’s an end of an era.” I can’t think of any other scenario where you have such a big franchise. I mean, you’ve got eight films that have been going for over a decade. It’s just so strange to see it end, I guess.

Do you still keep in touch with anyone from the films?

A little bit. I’ve been in America for a while so it’s been a little bit tough. I just did a movie with Bonnie Wright and we sort of hung out, which was very cool. I guess when I’m in England I’ll give the others a ring.

Not a lot of people know this but you actually hold a degree in neuroscience.

I managed to get an agent just as I was starting university so I was juggling doing neuroscience and running off and filming. Personally, it’s the best degree to study because the human brain is just fascinating.

You’re currently in A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song. Tell us a little bit about the project and what drew you to it.

It’s modern telling of Cinderella. I guess it’s a comedy, which is definitely something that draws me to a project. Also, I was able to sing in it as well which was kind of fun. It was my first time going into the studio, recording a song, and having my own song—which is very cool.

Were you always a musician?

I do play guitar and sing. I did concerts at school and it helped in the film. I’ve always sung and played but never professionally. It was nice to able to do that here.

What was the cast dynamic like?

We were just goofing around all the time and making jokes that are slightly inappropriate! I guess we’ve had a few interviews where Lucy [Hale] and I may have played a game where in the interview we would try to get a different word in. So, in the interview we would try to say “sunglasses” or “hat” and whoever got to say it first was the winner–that’s what we did and it was really funny.

Such an emotional day for the Harry Potter cast and crew! Apple recently debuted a featurette from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and it shows the final day on set. Snape! Bellatrix! Voldemort!

Daniel Radcliffe gave an emotional goodbye speech, and afterwards you see him walk right over to Emma Watson and Rupert Grint and the three share a very teary group hug.

“I just want to say I love this place. This has been my life,” Dan says on set. “I don’t know what my day to day life consists of without you. All of you. I just want to say I’ve loved every minute and I thank you all very, very much for making that possible.”

“It’s been tough at times…but it’s never not been fun,” director David Yates states.
