Richards, 41, and Sambora, 52, are on a Spring Break vacation together in Hawaii, along with Richie’s daughter by Locklear, 14-year-old Ava. Richards’ two daughters with actor Charlie Sheen — Sam, 7, and Lola, 6, and Richards’s 9-month-old daughter Eloise — are also joining the trip.

Locklear — who was hospitalized in January after taking a mix of prescription drugs and alcohol — notoriously stopped speaking to Richards in 2006 after finding out that she’d started dating Sambora, who at the time, was the actress’ neighbor and close friend.

“A few months ago, Denise told Richie that she needed Heather’s blessing if they were to resume their romance,” a source close to 50-year-old Locklear tells Celebuzz.

“Richie had a long discussion with Heather. It was amicable. Heather is happy for them both.

“Heather knew that for her daughter’s well-being and her own, she had to give Denise and Richie her seal of approval. She’s very comfortable with how things are progressing — for both their families.”

Despite seemingly healing their wound, the source tells Celebuzz that Locklear and Richards have not spoken. “Richie is the acting as go between,” the insider says.

For her part, mom-of-three Richards long insisted her relationship with Sambora was nothing but platonic until after Locklear filed for divorce.

What Happened: TMZ first broke the story that Heather was hospitalized after a 911 call made by her sister. News later came out that she was rushed to the hospital due to a mixture of pills and alcohol. RadarOnline reports that Locklear’s sister “was worried about Heather’s state of mind and they were afraid she was going to harm herself.” The call was made around 2:30pm California time.

How Is She Now?: In a statement issued by Heather’s parents, the Melrose Place starlet currently “is in no danger and she’s going to be just fine,” Bill and Diane Locklear said. The hospital listed her as “medically stable.”

When Will She Be Out? There’s no word on when Heather might be released, and that will all depend on her health, mindstate and if she is currently suffering from addiction or if this was just a rogue episode. More details should be emerging shortly, but an MSNBC report claims that Locklear will only be staying overnight for observation.

What Has Heather Been Doing Lately? Just two days before her hospitalization, Heather was sitting courtside at the Los Angeles Lakers game, where she was seen rooting on the team and looking very animated.

Is She Dating Anyone? No, she’s not. In November, she called off her engagement to Jack Wagner, who she was dating for nearly four years. The couple got engaged in August of 2011, and three months later, they went their separate ways.

Does Heather Have Past Drug Issues? Well, that depends. In 2008 her doctor called 911 after fearing she downed prescription medication in an attempt to commit suicide. In the end, though, it was all deemed a false alarm.

The reality star and media mogul has signed up for next season of Celebrity Rehab, ensuring another season of drama, tears, and breakthroughs with Dr. Drew.

Tila is reportedly the first star to sign up for this season, after stars like Charlie Sheen, Jenna Jameson, Heather Locklear and even hot mess Lindsay Lohan turned down a chance to go on the show.

We don’t know exactly what specific addiction Tila will be treated for, but we bet she will be more than willing to bring the drama once the show starts shooting.

The former Melrose Place actress, who was arrested in September 2008 on suspicion of driving under the influence, was arrested again for alleged hit-and-run on Saturday.

The accident took place at approximately 4 a.m. near the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, California, which is close to Locklear’s home, though the person who heard the crash didn’t report it to authorities until 7:48 that night. When deputies fro, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene they discovered a knocked-over “No Parking” sign as well as evidence that the car had jumped the curb.

A subsequent investigation indicated that it it was Locklear’s black BMW that had been involved in the accident, at which point deputies went to Locklear’s home, noticed damage consistent with the crash on her vehicle, and arrested her.

Locklear, who attended an Arizona rehab facility for reported “psychological issues,” pleaded no contest to reckless driving in the 2008 arrest early last year. Though the district attorney dropped the DUI charge in exchange for the plea, Locklear was placed on three years’ probation and must complete a DMV road and safety class.

People magazine reports that Locklear is currently in talks to reprise her role as scheming ad executive Amanda Woodward in the CW revamp of the ’90s TV sensation.

“We’re huge fans of hers,” says executive producer Todd Slavkin, laying out the criteria for returning Melrose Place alum (which so far include Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga): “Does it feel organic? Does it not feel contrived? That’s really what’s important to us.”

Oh yeah, this feels organic. And scandalous!

Melrose Place babe Locklear, 47, and her rocker ex-husband Sambora, 49, were all smiles at their 11-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth Sambora‘s View Point School soccer game in Calabasas, California.

Heather and Richie were married for just over 11 years. They split in February 2006.

However, the former couple have remained friends in the aftermath of their divorce. Locklear and her current beau, fellow Melrose Place alum Jack Wagner, 49, spent Thanksgiving with Richie and Ava.

“Heather and Richie are very supportive of each other,” a Locklear pal told People in November. “They talk all the time, and any time Ava has something important happening they are there together.”

That’s a great goal for both of them to keep in mind—well, that one, and the goal on their daughter’s soccer field!

TMZ reports that the DUI charges against the 47-year-old actress stemming from a September 2008 arrest in Montecito, California, have been dismissed.

Locklear was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at the time. Though blood tests did show prescription drugs in her system, the troubled thespian—who underwent treatment in an Arizona rehab facility in June—pleaded no contest to a mere reckless-driving charge. In exchange, she’ll be placed on three years informal probation, pay a $700 fine, and attend a mandatory 12-hour drug-education course.

Locklear’s attorney in the matter, Blair Berk, has worked similar wonders in the past for such celebrities as Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan and Mackenzie Phillips.

Heather has reason to celebrate outside of the courtroom, too; according to  E! Online, she’s being heavily wooed to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward in the upcoming Melrose Place revamp.

“The CW is courting Heather Locklear,” says a source. “I don’t think anyone else from the original has been approached yet.”

Good luck on the comeback trail, Heather! But, uh, if the network offers you a driver, by all means accept.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwann has been tapped to write the script for Melrose 2.0‘s pilot episode. The original show ran for seven seasons, from 1992 to 1999.

The CW successfully resurrected Beverly Hills, 90210 earlier this year for its title-simplified 90210 hit. While the new 90210 has made stars out of Shenae Grimes, 19, and paparazzi darling AnnaLynne McCord, 21, it also boasted the return of old-school cast members Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty.

Can viewers expect the same with the revamped Place?

Several MP alums have gone on to find success on the small screen—most notably Doug Savant and Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives), Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl) and Courtney Thorne-Smith (Ally McBeal, According to Jim).

The original series’ conniving landlord, Heather Locklear, 47, found her name in the headlines for other reasons this year, particularly a September DUI arrest in Malibu.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Schwann’s contract with new Melrose producer CBS Paramount doesn’t begin until June. He’s expected to concentrate on running One Tree Hill in the meantime.

Heather and Richie, 49, were both charged this year with DUIs, from separate incidents. They were married from 1994 to 2006, and have an 11-year-old daughter, Ava Elizabeth, together.

“Heather and Richie are very supportive of each other,” a Locklear friend tells the magazine. “They talk all the time, and any time Ava has something important happening they are there together. It’s going to be a very nice Thanksgiving for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the CW network has announced plans to revive Locklear’s hit 1990s nighttime soap, Melrose Place.

There’s no word yet on whether Heather will reprise her role as Amanda Woodward on the new version of the show, a la Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth‘s return to the updated 90210.

Sources say that no illegal narcotics or alchohol were found in her body, but that she was behind the wheel while impaired by prescription medication.

The September arrest of Locklear, 47, was unusual in that a former Us staffer called 911 on the Dynasty and Melrose Place actress and then sold pictures of her arrest.

At the time, it appeared that Locklear might have been set up.

“She seemed to be acting totally normal,” a resident said.  “I was really surprised to hear she got a DUI because, I mean, I just saw her coming out of the store. She looked fine.”

Toxicology tests apparently indicated otherwise.

The prescription medications found in Locklear’s system “could have impaired her ability to safely drive a motor vehicle,” Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter stated.

Heather’s ex-husband, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, was charged with a DUI in a separate incident on March 25.  At the time of his arrest, Sambora had the ten-year-old daughter he shares with Locklear in the car with him.

There were no passengers in Locklear’s incident.

The CW, thrilled with the decent return on their 90210 ressurection, is planning on bringing onetime spinoff Melrose Place back to life, says Entertainment Weekly.

The original show was the soapy and ridiculous chronicle of the lives and loves of several Angelenos all living in one apartment complex.

Its high points included bitchy-but-sexy landlord Heather Locklear, drownings in the courtyard pool, evil doctors hiding their jagged head scars under wigs and one episode in which said doctor—played by Desperate Housewives diva Marcia Cross— blew up the entire complex.

Oh, and Housewives star Doug Savant also starred as one of the first mainstay gay characters on prime-time TV, Matt Fielding.

Melrose Place left the air in 1999 after seven seasons.

Details on the new version are scarce at this point, but an update of the series has been confirmed by a CW spokesperson.

They need somehow bring back sassy Sydney (Laura Leighton) from the dead. True, she got run over by a car and killed on her wedding day, but this is a soap opera…!

Heather Locklear might have shady girlfriends and evil-doing bystanders around her, but at least a former flame has been checking in with good intentions.

Comedian and rumored paramour David Spade told People magazine he’s been messaging the actress, who recently busted in Los Angeles for driving under the influence.

“I texted her to check on her,” Spade told the mag recently. Spade and Locklear enjoyed several months of quality time in mid-2006.

“I think things get blown out a lot of proportion,” Spade says, “she’s always solid and always a great person. And I think people understand she’s in a tough situation and she does her best.” 

Locklear, who allegedly sought treatment after her DUI incident, surface just yesterday at Anaheim’s Disney Land for Miley Cyrus’ Sweet 16. 

The Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office hasn’t yet filed charges against the recently troubled actress, and new witness testimony makes the possibility of them doing so increasingly unlikely.

First news broke that the “concerned citizen” who initially reported a “tipsy” Locklear to the police was actually a former Us Weekly employee who subsequently sold photos of the arrest.

And now, a new witness has stepped forward to say that Locklear “did not seem to be drunk at all” during the time in question, reports E! Online.

Santa Barbara resident Alex Paillon, who saw Locklear at a shopping center just moments before the arrest, says, “She seemed to be acting normal, totally normal. She was just really messy, but not drunk…I was really surprised to hear she got a DUI because, I mean, I just saw her coming out of the store. She looked fine.”

The California Highway Patrol admits that there was no sign that Locklear had excessively consumed alcohol at the time of the arrest, but the District Attorney’s Office is awaiting the result of drug tests before deciding to proceed—or not.

“Toxicology is one piece of information that I want to have in hand before I review the case,”says Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter. “Obviously, I want as much information as I can get before I can review the case for any filing, if there is going to be a filing.”

Kim Kardashian was surprisingly given the boot last night from Dancing with the Stars, E! reports. DWTS oddsmakers had the wacky Cloris Leachman or celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito as the next to go.

People reports that Janet Jackson‘s recent undisclosed illness has caused her to postpone two more shows on her Rock Witchu tour. Jackson has postponed tonight’s Boston show, and tomorrow’s show in Philadelphia until further notice. Her tour will resume in Greensboro, NC on Saturday evening.

Us reports that Russell Crowe’s recent weight gain had to do with his latest film, Ridley Scott‘s Body of Lies. Crowe plays an overweight CIA analyst. The actor says that he gained 63 lbs. and would have cheeseburgers for breakfast.

The New York Daily News reports that Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel will team up for the first time to play a concert benefiting Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. They will perform at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 16.

“Around 4:30 p.m., a female witness saw Heather Locklear driving erratically while leaving a parking lot in Montecito,” California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall told People. “The witness said Locklear was revving her engine loudly, and backed over a pair of sunglasses several times.”

The same witness later saw the actress blocking oncoming traffic with her car, and then exiting her vehicle. Police arrived, found her sitting in her car and acting “disoriented and impaired.”

The recently troubled Locklear was arrested for DUI, although it was determined that “alcohol was not a factor.” She was released on her own recognizance hours later.

Heather’s lawyer Blair Berk had no comment.

The actress has been in an Arizona rehab facility this summer to treat her reported anxiety and depression.

She was released early Sunday and further details surrounding her arrest are expected to be revelealed soon.
