Hilary Duff Talks Giving Birth to Baby Luca: It Was Very Easy

First-time mommy Hilary Duff has a lot to be thankful for as she will be spending Mother’s Day with her adorable 7-week-old son, Luca Cruz. The actress, 24, stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday and gushed about her motherhood, calling it an “amazing ride.” When asked about the actual delivery, Duff reveals she had a relatively painless delivery.

“It was very easy. I went into labor at about one in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about three hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s time to go, let’s go now.’ We got in the car and drove to the hospital and that was it.”

Duff, who gave birth on March 20 to her first child with husband Mike Comrie, admits Luca is already growing up so fast.

“Every single day, it seems like there’s a new face that they’re making,” she tells DeGeneres. “He started to smile about a week ago, and that’s the coolest experience. It’s all good.”

Hilary Duff got a night off from mommy duty as she and her pro hockey player husband Mike Comrie went to watch Coldplay in Los Angeles. Although she was having a fun night out, her little boy wasn’t very far from the actress’s mind. Taking to her Twitter page, she posted a photo of baby Luca with the caption:

“So nice to have a night out but we miss monkey!!”

Although Hilary is a busy mama, she’s still making time to lose that extra baby weight.

Meanwhile, Beyonce is looking better than ever, just a few months after giving birth to her first child. The “Love on Top” singer was recently named People magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2012. Blue Ivy‘s mom poses on the cover with a small text that reads “Back After Baby!”

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” the “Crazy In Love” singer, 30, told the magazine. “”I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

Only a few weeks after giving birth to son Luca, new mom Hilary Duff showed off her post-baby body Friday afternoon during a quick trip to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Toluca Lake, CA.

Hil was all smiles as she made her way inside, donning a white crochet shirt, a black tank top, workout leggings and flats. Clearly, she has reason to be happy!

Since giving birth to Luca, on March 20, Hilary, 24, has given fans a couple of glimpses into her life as a new mom. Earlier this month, she tweeted the first official photo of a then-two-week-old Luca, which she followed up with a family portrait, alongside husband Mike Comrie, a few weeks later.

Just yesterday, Hilary revealed that little Luca’s bellybutton had fallen off, and that she now keeps it inside her makeup drawer.

Hilary Duff: I Keep My Son’s Belly Button in My Makeup Drawer

Hilary Duff is loving motherhood! The singer opened up to People about son Luca’s milestones, and there is one in particular that got her pretty excited.

“You know what was a big milestone? The belly button falling off,” Duff, 24, tells the magazine. “That was a huge one. And then I wanted to keep it but my husband was like, ‘No, that’s gross, you can’t keep it!’ I’m like, ‘I’m totally keeping it,’ and I secretly kept it.”

So where did she hide it?

Duff laughed: “It’s in a Ziploc bag in the back of my makeup drawer. Luca’s going to think I’m a freak!”

Luca Cruz Comrie is only about four weeks old, and while Hilary is definitely a hands-on mom the Lizzie McGuire actress says her husband helps a lot during the day when she does Pilates or spin class.

Hilary Duff is one proud parent. The Lizzie McGuire actress posted a family portrait via Twitter of her family: her NHL husband Mike Comrie and their son Luca. Dressed casually in a knit sweater, Hilary held her baby in her arms while her hubby smiled alongside her wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Since giving birth this past March, the 24-year-old actress can’t help but share her new mom experiences with her fans. One of her tweetes this week read:

“No better feeling that a peaceful baby sleeping on your chest…wonder what he’s dreaming about? #happymommy”

Motherhood definitely looks good on the actress.

Actress, singer, author, designer… and now Hilary Duff can add mother to her long roster of roles!

The 24-year-old welcomed her first child with her husband Mike Comrie on Tuesday evening, she confirmed on Twitter. The duo, who wed in August 2010, announced that they were expecting a baby boy on their one-year anniversary. Since then, the couple have been all around Hollywood preparing for the arrival of their little bundle of joy. Congrats to the proud parents!

So, what’s the little guy’s name?

HD tweeted:

Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy.

She also added, “We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.”

Hilary Duff clearly has a great sense of humor. The 24-year-old mom-to-be spoke about some of the unglamorous side effects of pregnancy – like unwanted hair – in this new video for Funny or Die, in which she addresses her hairy pregnancy problem in a faux infomercial, saying:

“After I got pregnant, my hormones caused so much hair growth that I felt like a yeti. Or Robin Williams.”

Hil jokes in the video that she solved her hair problem with a product called NoGrowActiv. Watch the video and tell us what you think.

Earlier this week, Hilary’s husband, Mike Cormie, announced that he is retiring from the NHL. The couple is expecting their first child together, a baby boy.

Over the weekend, Hilary Duff was glowing as she celebrated her pregnancy with friends and family at her baby shower.

The intimate shower, hosted by Hil’s older sister Haylie and their mother Susan, took place at Duff’s house in L.A. with about 40-50 people in attendance. During the event, Haylie tweeted the pic (above) with the caption:

“Me & @HilaryDuff the most beautiful lil mama around..w baby’s favorite bib.”

Hilary is expecting her first child, a baby boy, with husband Mike Comrie. After the baby shower, the 24-year-old actress gushed about the event, writing on Twitter:
