Super Slim Hugh Jackman Unrecognizable On ‘Les Miserables’ Set (PHOTOS)

Hugh Jackman isn’t looking so jacked on the set of Les Miserables. The Wolverine actor known for his big smile and bulging biceps was easy to miss while filming scenes for the beloved play-turned-movie.

Hugh, 43, is shooting scenes in London, England as the character of Jean Valjean, and looks to have shed some pounds and muscle for the part. Dressed in rags, Hugh also dons a poorly shaved haircut that includes scars all over his head.

In case you’re not familiar with the story, here’s a breakdown of Hugh’s character, and it may explain why he’s so thin.

In Les Mis, Jean is a poor man who has been on the run from the law for 19 years after he stole bread to feed his sister’s starving children during an economic depression in France. Jean is actively pursued his whole life (and throughout the play) by police officer Javert (Russell Crowe).

Other familiar faces to join Hugh in this classic tale include Amanda Seyfried (Cosette), Helena Bonham-Carter (Madame Thénardier), Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and Sacha Baron Cohen (Monsieur Thénardier).

Charlize Theron Adopts a Baby Boy! (PHOTOS)

Charlize Theron is a mom!

Joining Hollywood’s baby boom, the Oscar-winning actress announced on Wednesday that she has adopted a baby boy, reports the Washington Post. A rep for the 36-year-old Young Adult star said she is now the “proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.” While not many other details are known, we’re so thrilled for this first time mom! In late January, photos of Charlize holding a baby surfaced, which many have speculated to be her new bundle of joy.

There have been plenty of other celebs who went the adoption route when it came to expanding their family.

Oscar nominee Viola Davis recently adopted a daughter named Genesis, while Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton adopted a son from Ethiopia late last year.

Because He’s Hot! Hugh Jackman Goes For Morning Workout (PHOTOS)

The weather may be up and down in NYC, but that isn’t stopping actor Hugh Jackman from staying in shape. The Australian actor was spotted on Tuesday morning heading out with his fleece, gym shorts, running sneakers and bottle of water in hand, as he went for a light jog.

The Wolverine star is notorious for staying in great shape, once disclosing his workout to Men’s Health magazine:

“I do an hour and a half a day in the gym and eat a thousand calories more a day than I would normally. And I train really hard. I crank up the Godsmack and Metallica. I yell and scream, which helps me get into the character and have a bitch of a workout.”

Meanwhile, the star has plenty to be happy about! His new film Reel Steel is number one for the second week in a row at the box office, pulling in another $16 million.

Hugh Jackman Recalls ‘Soulful’ Night With Robert Pattinson (VIDEO)

Remember a few years ago when Robert Pattinson and Hugh Jackman did karaoke together in Japan? So do we, and so does Hugh! In an interview with MTV the Real Steel star looks back on that night.

“I actually did karaoke with Rob. That’s random, isn’t it?” he said. “We were on our way to Japan, and he was promoting ['Twilight'] and I didn’t talk to him at all on the flight, because he’s this really tall guy with a hood over his head literally, and every time I’d go to the bathroom, I’d be like, ‘Man, that guy takes some serious sleeping pills,’ because this was him [slumps over] the whole time.”

So how did the night unfold? And are the two still going to hit the big screen together?

“When he got out, I was like, ‘Hey, man,’ and Baz Luhrmann was also on the flight because we were promoting ‘Australia.’ So we went out to this Japanese karaoke bar, and we invited Rob, and he came, and it was so much fun. Man, he’s got a voice. Really soulful.”

Hugh and Rob are both slated to star in Unbound Captives (along with Rachel Weisz), which has been in limbo for a while. Jackman also addressed the the film with MTV News:

“I’m absolutely attached, it is one of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time…as you know, Hollywood has a hard time with Westerns; it’s hard to get them made and this is a really beautiful, beautiful script. It’s written by Madeleine Stowe, who’s going to direct it as well, so I really hope that one gets made. I think that’s a really important movie.”

Stowe is currently doing well with the hit show Revenge, so that might also affect its status, but Rob and Weisz are also still interested.

Braving the cool waters after a long workout, Hugh Jackman showed off his buff wolverine physique at Bondi beach in Sydney, Australia. The 42-year-old actor went for a shirtless swim, leaving all to see his bulging muscles and toned abs.

The beefcake brought the gun show to Sydney, where he is currently promoting his new film Real Steel.

In the film, Charlie Kenton (Jackman) loses a chance to become a boxing champion when robots take over, so he and his son Max (Dakota Goyo) build a robot that can contend for the championship.

Despite his busy schedule, the Australian actor carving out plenty of family time. A few weeks ago, he was seen having a blast on the beach with his kids, Oscar and Ava, in St. Tropez. The shirtless hunk caught a few waves and soaked up the sun.

The Reel Steel star gave us a gun show in Sydney in a sleeveless Adidas tee — and we collectively pressed the “like” button.

The Aussie native is back in his homeland promoting his new movie, and told Celebuzz that he rather liked playing a bad dad! The real-life father-of-two confesses that he reveled at the opportunity to play a neglectful father.

“Truth be told, I kind of enjoyed it,” Hugh joked.

“I have kids. I have an 11-year-old and there are literally times where you want to say things but you just shove it back down,” explained Jackman, “I’ve walked out of rooms — so frustrated in fear of what I’m going to say in that moment. For three months, it all just came out.”

Hugh Jackman Tells Celebuzz He ‘Enjoyed’ Being a Mean Dad in ‘Real Steel’

Hugh Jackman may be one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, but the Australian actor admits to Celebuzz that he loved channeling his bad side for his upcoming film, Real Steel.

In the movie, Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a washed-up boxer and robot fight promoter who reluctantly takes in his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) after the death of his ex-girlfriend. The real-life father-of-two confesses that he reveled at the opportunity to play a neglectful father.

“Truth be told, I kind of enjoyed it,” Hugh jokes.

“I have kids. I have an 11-year-old and there are literally times where you want to say things but you just shove it back down,” explains Jackman, “I’ve walked out of rooms — so frustrated in fear of what I’m going to say in that moment. For three months, it all just came out.”

But don’t be calling child services just yet! Although Hugh plays a tough dad onscreen, he reveals that his kids are his number one priority.

“I am a huge sports fan. My son hates sports,” Jackson says, chuckling, “I say, ‘Let’s kick a soccer ball.’ He hates it. ‘Throw a baseball!’ Hates it. I was like, ‘This is unbelievable!’”

“But the gift of having children is that they come in with these things — maybe different than what you’re into — but because you love them so much, you want to be with them so much and connect with them,” Hugh continues, smiling, “I found myself in more museums and looking through geological books. Now I can tell you things about history and culture that I never thought I would’ve known. It’s really about listening to your kid and connecting with them rather than forcing them to like the things you like.”

How sweet! Someone give this man a “Father of the Year” award already!

Hugh Jackman Gets In Ring at WWE (VIDEO)

Hugh Jackman stepped into the ring on Monday’s Raw SuperShow to promote his upcoming film Real Steel to a stadium filled with enthusiastic action fans.

“If you guys love the WWE Superstars, I know you’re gonna love the ground and pound action in my new movie Real Steel,” said Jackman. ”The robots are gnarly, they go at it from beginning to end. It’ll get you out of your seat. It’s a big sports drama, I know you’re gonna love it.”

Real Steel, which will be released in theaters on October 7, is a sci-fi film set in 2020 where robots replace humans in the world of competitive boxing. But Hugh – known to the action world as Wolverine – wasn’t just there to promote his film. He’s an action junkie himself, and loved talking to the crowd of adoring fans.

“I gotta tell ya, hosting the Oscars was cool… but the Oscars isn’t in front of 15,000 screaming fans in Cleveland!”

WWE champion Dolph Ziggler didn’t like the actor stealing his stage, so he and WWE diva Vickie Guerrero stormed into the ring to tear Hugh down a few notches.

“We all know that underdog is just another word for loser,” said Ziggler. ”And just like people that meet you, losers lose!”

But Vickie had a tough time ignoring Hugh’s charms. “I am your biggest fan. And I totally agree with People Magazine that you are the sexiest man alive.”
