With a career as rich and varied as John C. Reilly’s, it seems like the actor would struggle to relate to challenge of playing a character who’s tired of doing the same thing over and over.

But Reilly tells Celebuzz that he found it remarkably easy to tap into the struggle that the title character faces in Wreck-It Ralph.

“When you’re young, you’re like, wow, the world is my oyster,” he says.

“The story of my life is largely unwritten. And then you get into your 40s and you’re doing the same job and you start to feel like Ralph does, like, wow, is that all there is?”

Reilly observes that the existential quandary Ralph faces seems like an unlikely topic of conversation for a family-friendly animated adventure, but it was chief among the reasons he enjoyed making the film.

“There’s only a couple of chapters of this book left — am I going to find meaning in my existence?” he asks rhetorically. “It sounds like a crazy thing to be saying at a Disney junket, but that’s one of the cool things about the movie.”

Sometime unlikely duos are the best kind!

Dreamboat Jon Hamm and 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer were spotted by the paps in LA while going out for some grub at popular eatery Little Dom’,s and it looks like the besties were having a great time. Both guys kept things casual, as Jon was wearing a St. Louis Cardinals hat and Jack was representing with a Texas Longhorns football t-shirt.

During the meal, the Mad Men star got caught showing off a little bit of puppy love!Not only was he feeding his pup some bacon throughout the meal, but Jon’s longtime girlfriend (and the director and co-star of his latest film Friends with Kids) Jennifer Westfeldt stopped by and planted a kiss on her man.

Summer’s over and the season premiere of beloved NBC comedy 30 Rock is right around the corner. Hurray!

What’s in store for the Tina Fey-starring comedy? True 30 Rock fans already know the season premiere of the Emmy-winning show’s fifth season will be a live episode — but there are plenty of other surprises in store for fans. Celebuzz got a chance to chat with writer Robert Carlock and star Jack McBrayer, who plays the lovable Kenneth the Page.

When season four ended this spring the 30 Rock gang was facing a new batch of challenges: Kenneth got fired, Liz was attempting to woo a dreamboat pilot (Matt Damon) and Jack (Alec Baldwin) had just discovered that his girlfriend (Elizabeth Banks) is pregnant.

Robert reveals that Queen Latifah will be having a guest spot in a few episodes this season. “Queen Latifah is playing a congresswoman who has a bullseye on the [NBC-Kabletown] deal,” says Robert, “She and Alec’s character butt heads a little bit.”

Queen Latifah isn’t the only problem that Jack will encounter this season: “Jack gives up drinking in solidarity with his pregnant girlfriend,” says Robert, “He finds it more difficult than he expected and we’ll see how it affect’s Liz’s life.”

Robert also revealed that some of those absurd 30 Rock story lines from seasons past are actually inspired by true events that happened to the cast and crew. Robert says that a fight that Liz and “The Hair” have with a deli owner who wouldn’t accept a $100 bill was actually inspired by a “bonding experience” he had with his wife when they argued with a tool booth operator who wouldn’t accept a large bill.

Jane Krakowski‘s self-absorded character Jenna also has some traits which were inspired by a famous actress. Robert says that Jenna’s infamous fake attention-getting injuries were actually inspired by an actress who would pull similar stunts on the set of a different show. “She’ll go nameless,” says Robert.

Robert and Jack also reveal some tidbits about their upcoming live premiere show. The difficulty, says Robert, is making “it feel like a 30 Rock show when we only have access to three sets.” The show is famous for its multiple locations and flashbacks, which are difficult to maintain for a live show. “We may have other actors play our actors in flashbacks,” says Robert. Jack also says that he is nervous because he doesn’t have the luxury to make “the number of mistakes we make at a usual shoot.”

Luckily, Robert and Jack are both confidant that they have the right cast for a live show. After all, Tina and Tracy Morgan worked at Saturday Night Live for years, Alec hosted the show a number of time, and the rest of the cast all have extensive experience as live performers.

As for the rumors that Alec will be leaving the show after this season, Robert says that they have “no comment” but that Alec’s contract “runs beyond season five” and that Alec is “the best at what he does and we hope that it continues for a long time.”

The fifth season of 30 Rock premieres on September 23 at 8:30 PM on NBC.

30 Rock was one of the big winners at the SAG Awards over the weekend, but all the glitz and glamour doesn’t mean the cast gets to avoid the banality of air travel.

Series stars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer and Katrina Bowden were all snapped moving through Los Angeles International Airport yesterday.

Morgan, 40, and Bowden, 20, proudly showed off their Screen Actors Guild awards as they made their way through security.

NBC’s shining comedy won the Best Comedy Series Cast award on Sunday night, as well as a Best Actress in a Comedy Series gong for creator Fey, 38, and a Best Actor in a Comedy Series for *ahem* complicated star Baldwin, 50.

Good news for Alec. His date for the evening was his daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland, 13. It seems as though Ireland has forgiven and forgotten the “selfish little pig” incident.

As reported earlier, the two were enjoying each other’s company at the People/Grey Goose afterparty.

The show looks to be better than ever, especially with Mad Men actor Jon Hamm joining the cast for a multi-episode arc as a new love interest for Fey’s character Liz Lemon.

Morgan, who plays eccentric millionaire comedian Tracy Jordan on the series, was wowed by the weight of his win. Literally.

“This is heavy,” he said, according to Google News. “It’s good hardware. It’s the first thing I’ve ever won in my life.”

And here’s to many more, Tracy. We all loved you in Head of State, after all.
