Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Sherri Shepard are just a few celebs to speak out about the Trayvon Martin case. Should celebrities stay out of legal issues, or should they broadcast their opinions to their millions of fans on Twitter to educate/sway their fans’ opinions?

“We live in America where a girl that threw flour on Kim Kardashian was arrested on site. But the man who killed Trayvon Martin is still free,” Smith said in a comment via Twitter.

Dancing With The Stars contestant Sherri Shepherd took to her Twitter and said, “Justice for #TrayvonMartin…sign the petition for Geo Zimmerman’s arrest. God forbid if this happened to your child.”

“God bless Trayvon Martin and his family. Humans but we’re losing the race,” Jamie Foxx wrote.

During a tribute that included Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo performing the Jackson 5′s 1970 hit “I’ll Be There,” Jackson sister, Janet Jackson, offered an emotional remembrance of her brother.

“To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family, and he will forever live in all of our hearts,” Jackson noted as she choked back tears. “On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love. Thank you for all of your support, we miss him so much.”

Foxx was all smiles, despite recieving flack for his controversial statements about Miley Cyrus last week. In the flick, based on a true story, Foxx plays a talented musician who eventually becomes homeless due to a severe case of schizophrenia. RDJ plays a columnist for the Los Angeles Times who develops a friendship with Foxx after discovering him on the side of the road.

Other celebs on the red carpet included Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jena Malone, and Halle Berry, who decided to battle the Los Angeles heat with a summery, striped dress and flip-flops!

Jamie Foxx has issued an apology for his extremely harsh words about Miley Cyrus. On Tuesday night, Foxx appeared on Jay Leno‘s Tonight Show, and the talk show host inquired, “Did you say something inappropriate?”

Foxx replied, “Yeah. I so apologize to [Cyrus], and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. [Big laugh from the audience]. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far. “I have a radio show…We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart,” he added, turning slowly to Leno.

Then, looking straight into the camera, he said, “Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”

Sunday night, on Jamie Foxx‘s Sirius Radio Show, The Foxxhole, a listener called in to the show and mentioned that Cyrus was dissed by Radiohead at the Grammy Awards a few months back. Then things got good real fast.

Foxx began, saying, “Who is Miley Cyrus?” Then, after realizing that she’s the one “with all the gums,” the host recommended that she “get a gum transplant…let me get an order of mouth, light on teeth, heavy on the gums.”

They continued to rag on Miley—hardcore—for about another minute. Listen for yourself (WARNING: NSFW language):

People Magazine has learned that both Mariah Carey and Jamie Foxx have been confirmed to not only attend, but also help induct singer Patti Labelle and legendary record producer Quincy Jones into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. Each year, one celebrated artist is introduced into the HOF, but this year, two artists made the cut!

The Gala will be hosted by Steve Harvey, and tickets are going for about $1,000 each.
