With an estimated fortune of $200 million Britney Spears has more money than her new boyfriend David Lucado could ever dream about.

But despite the fact that she’s an international superstar and he’s just a humble legal assistant, his uncle believes the pair is actually well suited.

“Listen, David was raised on a farm in Virginia and Britney is from the south, so I think that they probably have a lot in common,” Thomas Lucado told Celebuzz.

“I know Britney has had some hard times, but I read recently that she went to church with her family for Easter Sunday and she shops at normal supermarkets too.”

Despite finding fame and fortune, the Louisiana-born songbird has not always had the best of luck with the opposite sex.

The mom-of -two split up with her fiancé Jason Trawick in January, before enduring two failed marriages with Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.

But it looks like she might have a change of luck with the hunky 27-year-old.

The pair went public after going on a Valentine’s Day date to a sushi restaurant and David taught her some golf lessons — and since then their relationship has taken off.

They’ve been photographed walking hand-in-hand around her Calabasas, Calif. neighborhood and even took their love on the road during a trip to Las Vegas with her manager Larry Rudolph.

And now there are rumors that the pair has been spending more time together at the “Scream & Shout” singer’s massive $8.5 million Thousand Oaks, Calif. estate in California.

Even though there’s a sizable difference in their bank accounts, Thomas isn’t surprised that the superstar has fallen hard for his handsome nephew.

“David is a great guy, he is humble and very down-to-earth,” he said. “He’s a very easy-going and likeable person who has no trouble making new friends.

“He was an ‘A’ student and loved playing golf and was also a great debater at high school. My nephew is a wonderful and smart guy.”

Thomas is looking forward to the day that his nephew brings his pop star girlfriend to meet his family who call Appomattox, Virginia, home.

Although he readily admits that his modest home is a million miles away from the luxurious surroundings that Brit has become accustomed to back in California.

“We are pretty much out in the sticks here and I guess Britney and her team of stylists and hairdressers would have to travel quite a ways to get their supplies, but we would love to met her all the same!” he joked.

Britney Spears‘ reported new beau isn’t a Hollywood hotshot or a “Womanizer” — he’s a down-home family man.

“He’s a real sweet guy. He’s tall and handsome and strong,” David Lucado‘s aunt, Gayle Lucado, told Celebuzz. “He’s a family guy. He loves his mom and his grandmother, and he loves kids. For Christmas, he dressed up as Santa for all the kids. They just love him.”

Spears, who broke off her engagement to talent manager Jason Trawick in January, has been spotted all over Los Angeles with David as of late, with stops ranging from the tanning salon to the golf course, and even a sweet shopping trip holding hands last Friday.

“He’s an outgoing guy,” Gayle said of the 27-year-old, who grew up in Appomattox, VA, and now works as a contractor for a law firm. “He loves living in different places and likes to be adventuresome.”

And like the 31-year-old singer, David is also healing from heartbreak.

“All I know is, he was getting over an old girlfriend so he wasn’t looking for a relationship,” Gayle said. “The family is surprised.”

His cousin, meanwhile, agreed that David is taking the new relationship one step at a time. “It’s all fairly new and he’s been nonchalant about it,” said Alton Lucado. “David’s just a country boy from Appomattox. He’s a good guy and he’s enjoying himself. All I can say is, I’m happy for him.”

According to Us Weekly, the 34-year-old actress broke things off with her Midnight in Paris co-star and beau of more than two years Michael Sheen.

Sin City just got a whole lot hotter!

After months of speculation, Britney Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph has confirmed to Extra that the singer will be taking up a Las Vegas residency with an ongoing show in town.

The princess of pop is in the final stages of negotiations and a formal announcement is expected in the next coming weeks.

Spears is taking on a ton of new changes as of late. The former X Factor mentor announced her exit from the show in January after her initial season.

“I had an incredible time doing the show, but it’s time for me to get back into the studio.” she said.

A mere hours after her announcement regarding X Factor, Spears confirmed reports that she had split with her fiancé of one year, Jason Trawick.

The singer, who had been with Trawick for four years, had nothing but love for her time spent with the Hollywood agent.

“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement…I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

She added, “as this chapter ends for us a new one begins.”

A new chapter, a new city, a new job and endless possibilities.

Britney Spears would be a happily married woman if only she’d stayed with her first husband — aka the one who lasted 55 hours. At least, that’s what Jason Alexander‘s father believes.

“Who knows what their lives could have turned into together? I bet for Britney, it would have been a lot less drama in her life for the last eight years,” Denny Alexander told Celebuzz.

In one of Tinseltown’s most short-lived marriages, Denny’s son famously got to be Mr. Britney Spears, albeit briefly, after a Las Vegas ceremony in Jan. 2004. Just 55 hours later, the singer had the marriage annulled.

Now Jason’s dad says he only wishes Spears’ handlers had left the childhood friends-turned-lovers alone to figure out their own future.

“If no one got involved and interfered, I have a feeling they would have played it right together,” Denny said. ”They should have just let them two kids alone when they got married.”

Since calling it quits with her first hubby, Spears has been unlucky in love. In September 2004, the 31-year-old married back-up dancer Kevin Federline; they divorced just two years later and currently share custody of their two children, Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6.

After a well-publicized breakdown — during which she shaved her head and attacked paparazzi with an umbrella in 2007 — the “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer seemed to get back on track, hooking up with William Morris Endeavor agent Jason Trawick in 2009. The two were  engaged in Las Vegas in Dec. 2011, but called it off on Jan. 11.

The news came as a surprise to fans — but not to the Alexander clan.

Said Denny: “Jason told me, “I know Britney, and I knew that wasn’t going to last.”

Rumor has it that Britney Spears is in talks to perform regularly in Las Vegas. But what are the chances the troubled singer’s Sin City deal will be signed on the dotted line? And if it is, will she deliver the goods?

“I give Britney 3-2 odds that she will come to Vegas,” said Wayne Allyn Root, a top Las Vegas oddsmaker. “The pro is that she would be fantastic at this time in this town — and far better than Celine Dion.”

And now, the cons.

“The only thing holding back the deal is that people are concerned — she is kind of erratic,” said Root. “Plus it doesn’t help that she just broke up with her fiance. We have to wonder now who will keep her in line.”

The singer announced her split from Jason Trawick on Jan. 11, when Spears released a statement announcing their breakup after dating for four years; they were engaged in Dec. 2011.  And the loss is more than romantic: Trawick was dropped as Spears’ co-conservator just after the breakup, according to PEOPLE. Her father Jamie remains in charge of her estate and personal affairs, but Root says the situation is still worrisome.

“The question now is, if Jason’s out, who is in?” he asks. “Who will be making sure that she will show up? The single biggest factor that is holding her back is not having Jason by her side. Is this breakup going to cause a lot of trauma? That’s a liability. She needs someone that will be on top of her and responsible for getting her to where she needs to be.”

Ironically, it’s Spears’ famously troubled life that could help her sell tickets.

“Controversy sells. Britney Spears is very marketable, and fame translates,” Root says of the singer, who recently ended her tenure as a judge on The X-Factor. “Celine got over a $100 million and so did Garth Brooks, but they have limited audience.” Dion performs at Caesar’s Palace, while Brooks has a show at the Wynn Hotel.

“I think Britney could surpass them for sure,” Root continued. “She is much bigger than all the names here, more popular, and can command a bigger audience. She could very well make a $200 million deal, but it will probably come with a lot of out clauses such as missing more than two days in a row, among other clauses.”

Regardless, Root says, he sees Sin City in Spears’ future.

“At the end of the day I see this working and her coming to Las Vegas,” he said. “They will make it work.”

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Britney Spears’ romance with Jason Trawick began some four years ago, when he was still her agent at William Morris Endeavor.

The couple made things official in 2010, when Trawick left his professional post to focus on being the pop princess’ boyfriend. They became engaged in December 2011.

On Friday, Spears, 31, and Trawick, 40, gave fans and gossipmongers alike plenty to talk about with the announcement of their split.

“Jason and I have decide decided to call off our engagement,” the “Scream and Shout” singer said in a statement.

“I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Trawick also released his own statement, echoing Spears’ words.

“As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever,” he said.

According to PEOPLE, Trawick has also since resigned as the co-conservator of Spears. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz accepted the resignation on Friday, meaning that Spears’ father Jamie will now be “the sole conservator of her person.”

From red carpet appearances to outings with Spears’ young sons Preston, 7, and Jayden, 6, Trawick has been frequently by the pop princess’ side since the two began dating in early 2009.

Last fall, Spears gushed about her family to Lucky magazine.

“I play with the kids, I cook and I garden . . . we play Connect Four. We play Candy Land. Last night we read The Night Pirates,” she said in the magazine’s December 2012 issue.

“[Jason] says he doesn’t mind that I sit around in sweats all the time.”

Also on Friday, Spears confirmed her exit from The X Factor, a move Celebuzz had previously reported on.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” the former judge said in a statement.

“I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.”

UPDATE 5:05 PM:  Britney Spears and Jason Trawick confirmed their break-up with PEOPLE: “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement,” her rep Jeff Raymond told the magazine. “As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”

Britney Spears has split with her fiancé Jason Trawick.

TMZ is reporting that the couple have called time on their relationship since getting engaged in December 2011.

Trawick, who used to be the singer’s agent, acted as co-conservator of her assets along with the singer’s father Jamie Spears.

Lawyers for the pop star are in a Los Angeles court today to discuss the status of her conservatorship, which could now result in Trawick withdrawing his interest.

It has been a dramatic week for the Princess of Pop who also confirmed today that she won’t be returning for a second season on The X Factor, Celebuzz previously reported.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.”

According to the website’s report, the couple remain friends and decided to call it quits because “they had grown apart.”

The 31-year-old mother of two started dating Trawick, 40, after her divorce in 2007 from ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A rep for Spears did not return a request for comment.

Britney Spears rang in the New Year on a sad note — her beloved grandfather passed away just days before the holidays, the pop star’s uncle has confirmed to Celebuzz.

“She was here for the funeral with Jason and both the little boys,” Allen Stewart said of Spears’ fiance  Jason Trawick and her sons Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6.

“Paw-Paw” June Spears Sr., 82, died on December 16 after a long battle with cancer, and Stewart says Britney’s sadness was evident at the Louisiana services.

“Everyone was upset and crying,” said Stewart, who’s married to the “Piece of Me” singer’s aunt Jeanine Spears Stewart. “We all hugged each other. She was very upset about her Paw-Paw and spent Christmas at her mom’s nearby. We will all miss him, but he’s in a better place.”

Despite Britney’s enormous popularity — most recently, she made headlines by walking away from her job as a judge on The X Factor — Stewart says the family doesn’t pay much attention to her life in the Hollywood spotlight.

“We love Britney,” he said. “We don’t care about how much money she makes or if she’s on TV. She’s a beautiful person, and having her around with the kids is good enough, especially when the kids can meet their cousins and nephews. It’s about having family in your life. It’s about getting together and seeing one another.

“She and Jason were here a couple years ago for Thanksgiving. It’s country living, and they played on our tractor. It was great. It’s God’s country.”

Stewart even said he wouldn’t trade places with his multimillionaire niece: “To me, if I had her popularity, fame, wealth, I’d be trying to get out of the fast lane and out of city life. She’s just under so much pressure.”

No doubt helping Britney navigate the choppy waters of Tinseltown: Trawick, who has already gotten a thumbs-up from Stewart.

“I like Jason. He’s very down-to-earth,” he said. And Brit’s uncle adds Trawick is a far cry from Kevin Federline, who was married to Britney from 2004 to 2007.

“Kevin was very different to me,” Stewart said. “He was into music and dancing. Jason is business-related, but he wouldn’t put his business before anything.”

Stewart isn’t the only one who gave a stamp of approval to Trawick.

“[Grandpa] June liked him [Jason] a lot too. She [Britney] had his blessing,” he added. “I think he’s really good for Britney. I read everything about what happened and don’t believe everything I read, but the track she was on four or five years ago, she’s gotten so much better since being with him.

“We hope she found the right guy.”

Britney Spears believes in the old adage, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

In fact, the X Factor judge proved the saying true on December 15 when she took her prowess from the stage to the kitchen — and made fiance Jason Trawick‘s 41st birthday extra-special in the process.

“Britney cooked dinner for Jason and the boys,” a source close to the happy couple told Celebuzz.

The 31-year-old  planned a fun birthday bash for her boys — Sean turned seven on Friday, and Jayden turned six last Wednesday — over the weekend at an arcade and trampoline park called Sky High in Calabasas, Calif., E! News reports. Spears’ fiance Jason Trawick was along for the ride, plus Spears’ father and sister Jamie Spears.

But the party wasn’t just a family affair. Over 20 kids were there to help Sean and Jayden celebrate their big days, including two tiny internet sensations.

As for the other man in Spears’ life, despite reports that there was trouble in paradise over the summer, the singer and her scruffy beau are still going strong. Trawick proposed to Spears in last December after more than two years of dating.

Spears was previously married to childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander, although their marriage was annulled after just 55 hours in January 2004. She later married her backup dancer Kevin Federline in 2004. However, the couple divorced in 2006.

“It was kind of one of those things where she moved, like, turned around, so we were face-to-face and then …” Trawick began gushing before he was interrupted by Spears who was more shy about dishing the details of their relationship.

Luckily, the pair seems to have found the secret to making it work in the limelight.

Spears told ELLE, “I guess I’ve been under the microscope so long that I don’t even pay attention to the nonsense anymore,” adding, “I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago.”

The 40-year-old talent manager left his fiancee a sweet video of encouragement after she finished taping the first round of auditions in Austin, Texas this week. Lying on their hotel bed, Jason filmed himself and left the following for the “Hold It Against Me” singer:

“Princess, we just completed our first weekend in Austin [Texas] on X Factor. Just wanted to say I’m very proud of you and I love you so much. Congratulations.”

“Now get back in here so we can go to sleep,” he added before sealing off his video message with a kiss.

An obviously smitten Britney, 30, shared the video on her Facebook, with the caption: “Awww love you too Xoxo.”

It looks like Jason Trawick will be more than just Britney Spears husband in the near future as the 40-year-old has petitioned to be added as her co-conservator. 

If his request is approved, Trawick will share control with Spears’ father, Jamie, over the singer’s well-being. 

Since February 2008, Jamie has held legal control over the singer’s life and finances after the “Criminal” songstress’ public mental breakdown. However, E! Online reports that although Trawick will share conservatorship, he will not have a hand in controlling Spears’ multimillion-dollar fortune if his petition is approved by the court.

Jeffrey S. Cohen, a Los Angeles probate attorney who’s not involved with the case, told People, “This could be a sign that the couple’s wedding is around the corner.”

Jason and Britney, 30, got engaged in late 2011 but have yet to announce a wedding date.

The newly engaged singer, 30, proudly displayed her sparkler while attending her fiance (!) Jason Trawick‘s 40th birthday party at Chateau Nightclub in Las Vegas on Friday evening. The couple was all smiles as they snacked on couture lollypops and Jason’s birthday cake.

So, what are the deets on that gorgeous ring?

According to E! Online:

“Neil Lane designed Britney’s engagement ring and according to Lane’s rep, Trawick personally worked with the designer to craft the diamond-bearing band into Spears’ ‘dream ring.’”

Also, the round diamond boasts about four carats and “features micro pave diamonds around the band.”

Simply stunning!

Jason popped the question to Brit on Thursday after about three years of dating.

Britney Spears and her beau Jason Trawick are finally engaged. While Britney has remained coy on whether or not they would actually tie the knot in recent interviews, Access Hollywood confirmed that she’ll be walking down the aisle for a third time. “Yes, we are engaged,” Jason confirmed with Access, adding that he and Brit are “over the moon.”

Earlier in the day, Brit sent out a message on Twitter that suggested Jason popped the question.

“OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo.”

According to Us Weekly, Jason proposed on Thursday night, at his 40th birthday.

“This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” the source said. “It’s a way to cement their family. They’re both extremely happy and can’t wait to become man and wife.”

The couple first met in 2006 in a professional capacity; Trawick began representing the “Criminal” singer while she was still wed to Kevin Federline.

Spears famously wed childhood pal Jason Alexander in 2004 in a Las Vegas marriage that was annulled within 55 hours. She then went on to marry Federline in 2004; the initial stages of their relationship were chronicled in Spears’s first reality show Britney & Kevin: Chaotic. After having two children together, Brit divorced K-Fed in 2006.

Trawick proved himself to be a true friend after the divorce. A source told Us Weekly that Trawick “was one of the only people who stuck by her through everything.”

Following the now-infamous lap dance she gave Joe Jonas a recent concert, Britney Spears enjoyed a night out on the town in London with her real beau, Jason Trawick.

The happy-go-lucky couple, who recently starred together in the music video for Brit’s new single, ‘Criminal,’ were seen leaving the Shaftsbury theatre together on Tuesday. Brit looked relaxed but ready to get past the cameras in a red turtleneck, high-waisted mini-skirt and tights, while Jason followed closely behind in blue buttondown and jeans.

Britney will next perform on Thursday at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, UK.
