Although some counted him out, Jason has turned his life around to become sober. Congrats, Jason! Sober is definitely sexy. 

Celebuzz talked to the reality star about getting in shape, what made him decide to get sober and how he’s helping others to overcome their addiction issues.

Was there a defining moment when you decided to get sober?
All in all, there were two major key points in this. One was my family. I definitely did it for myself but my family was a big part. I was also sick and tired of being sick and tired. I just finally had a breaking point where I knew that was it and I was done. 

Was there a particular moment where you said, ‘okay this is it’?
[I was in a therapy session with] my parents and they basically looked at me and were like, it’s come to the point where you’re literally getting between our marriage. There was a sense they were laying in bed, waiting for a phone call that I was either arrested or dead. When I heard that I was like, if I’m not gunna do it for myself , I’m doing it for them. If it weren’t for my parents or family, I don’t think I would have initiated it.

How did you get sober? 
I was willing to do anything to stay clean, and I had a really good sponsor. I surrendered and said whatever it takes, I’m willing to do it. Surrendering is what it was, throwing my hands up. God played a big part in it too.

How did all this play into getting in shape?
I grew up in Laguna being active — playing baseball , surfing, skating, snowboarding — anything that had to do with a board or any kind of athletic venture, I would always want to be involved. When I was drinking heavily, I was bloated and always lethargic. I wasn’t myself. I grew up right and was raised right, but I took life for granted. I think a big part of my recovery has to do with being active and being healthy. Overall, it’s just doing things I used to enjoy doing before I was ever introduced to drugs or alcohol. I definitely try to advocate to [the group I'm working with]; health is a big part of recovery. 

What group of guys are you working it?
I work at National Therapeutic Services. It’s a rehab and I do client advocacy kind of stuff. Basically, I introduce the new guys in detox and be the first person they see — the guy they can kind of come to for anything. After they get out of detox, I take them down to the facility to get them acclimated and acquainted with the other patients or the case managers or therapists. I’ve been there, so I definitely know [what they need].

So now you’re taking a leadership role in recovery too?
It gives them motivation, like ‘he was a train wreck, but if he can do it…’It’s a big part of being at service and seeing these guys that come in and actually transform their lives before my eyes. It’s pretty unbelievable.

Would you have tips for anyone that is struggling, especially in the public eye?
I think a big part of it is to remove yourself from the element that’s causing you to do all that stuff. I had to change my people, place and things. I had to set my boundaries and reset my foundation. I had to surround myself with the right people. You have to be willing and able to take guidance and surrender … it’s letting go of everything. You have to humble yourself or you’re screwed. 

What do you think is the biggest misconception about you?
I think just who I truly am, to be honest. People kind of judge by how the shows are edited and portrayed you. I wouldn’t change anything, but I would definitely say they definitely changed who I really am.

What would you say some of the best advice you’ve ever gotten in recovery?
A milestone is better then a tombstone. I really like that actually.

VH1 has revealed the participants for its latest round of detox at the Pasadena Recovery Center, and its quite the mixed bag of substance abusers. Along with previously revealed participant Jeremy London, the Party of Five actor who earlier this year claimed to have been abducted and forced to smoke drugs at gunpoint, the season will feature Laguna Beach vet and multiple DUI arrestee Jason Wahler; alleged Tiger Woods mistress Rachel Uchitel; former teen heartthrob Leif Garrett (most recently busted for heroin possession in February); socialite Jason Davis; former America’s Next Top Model judge Janice Dickinson; and Frankie Lons, mother of singer Keyshia Cole.

No word on who will come out on top in this televised race to recovery, but monetarily, Rachel Uchitel already seems to be the clear winner; according to TMZ, Rachel—who reportedly hopes to kick a pill habit while on the series—will be collecting $500,000 for her troubles, after the show’s producers agreed to double their offer when she initially declined.

The Laguna Beach and The Hills personality, who’s had numerous scrapes with the law, once again found himself in custody this weekend after allegedly hitting a woman at a Hollywood party. The rumored Celebrity Rehab participant, already the recipient of several DUI charges, was arrested at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Sunday and charged with misdemeanor battery. Wahler is currently being held on $20,000 bail.

According to Los Angeles City Attorney’s  Office spokesperson Frank Matejian, he may be released today.

Dr. Drew is going to have his hands full this season….

Jason Wahler is reportedly closing a deal with the Rehab producers to star in the upcoming season alongside Tila Tequila.

The former Laguana Beach star has had more than a few troubles as a result of his reported drug and alcohol abuse, including several DUIs and arrests, so it seems like he is a pretty obvious choice to check into rehab with Dr. Drew.

What other MTV reality stars could Celebrity Rehab be casting for their show? The well of addicted reality stars probably runs pretty deep.

The source of the rift between Heidi Montag and former roommate Lauren Conrad stems in some part from the allegation that Montag and boyfriend Spencer Pratt started the rumor that L.C. had made a sex tape with her former and perhaps future poop-heel Jason Wahler.

Now that he has stumbled from his substance-abuse fog and mustered up the energy to deny the existence of the tape, Jason is sticking up for the chick who made him one of the most famous douche spouts in existence.

In response to Spencer and Heidi’s recent visit to The Tyra Banks Show during which Spence insisted he was “1,000 percent” sure a tape existed, Wahler told Us Weekly, “I do not have a sex tape of Lauren Conrad, and one does not exist.”

It’s interesting to see where reality TV stars draw the line at having their faux reality exposed. They’re probably just annoyed at the prospect of screening footage of themselves that reveals what they look like without the benefit of hair, makeup and lighting.

Jason Wahler: Lauren Conrad Sex Tape Doesn’t Exist

On the show, Heidi, looking eerily Barbie-ish, discussed her ongoing feud with costar Lauren Conrad and the sex tape rumors about L.C. and Jason Wahler that are being bandied about to pimp MTV’ crown jewel of a show.

Speaking from the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, the Hills hottie told People, “Nice guys are great to take home to your parents, but you want a guy that keeps you on your toes.”

Stephen Colletti, Brody Jenner, Jason Wahler? All cute—and a bit slimy. And Lauren was a sucker for ‘em all. “It’s a pattern I have,” she says.

Spencer Pratt? Uh—no, that’s taking slimy to a whole ‘nother level.

So, if you’re ready for your close-up, put away those manners, scumbags, and come and grab ‘er.

Other T-town players giving an assist to the NHL include Dave Annable, Jason Reitman, David Boreanaz, Eddie Cahill, Tom Cavanagh, William Fichtner, Kevin Smith, Dierks Bentley and hockey wife Willa Ford-Modano.

Them we get. Okay, not really—but Lauren? It just has us scratching our heads. She makes a valiant attempt to make it seem less of a stretch: “I’m blogging about the NHL playoffs because I love live hockey and I thought this would be a fun way to get more involved with the Post-Season. Funny enough though, I’ve been going to Kings games with friends I grew up with in Laguna Beach, in the heart of Ducks country.”

Her beloved Kings, alas, are out of the running for this year, so she’s transferred her ardor to the Anaheim Ducks.

And—wait for it—she wants fan help. “Is there anything you guys think I should know as I watch the Ducks?” she asks, ever blogger-like.

Trouble is, we’re not sure anyone who’s ever heard of L.C. knows a lick about passouts, five holes and poke checks—unless it’s in the bushes outside of Villa.
