“Theyʼre very similar in the grieving process, actually,” 40-year-old Garth — who will star in the new CMT reality series A Little Bit Country, premiering this Friday — told Celebuzz, in an exclusive interview.

The former 90210 star signed up to film A Little Bit Country, about her decision to move her three daughters — Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5 — from Los Angeles to a farm in California, last year. At the time, little did she know the show would also feature the unravelling of her longtime marriage.

“I was filming then and yeah my personal life began to unravel. It wasnʼt very good timing,” Garth told Celebuzz, ruefully.

Still, she insists the show isn’t always so somber.

“Itʼs a fun show,” she said. “It sort of showcases the shift in my personal life, the things that Iʼm looking for in my life, things that are important to me right now as a mom raising my girls — though, ultimately, we have moments where we touch on my marriage.

“I didnʼt want the show to be about that, but there are a couple of times when it goes back to what Iʼm dealing with because it does affect me on every level.”

Doing the show at such a difficult time was also cathartic for Garth, who admitted there were days when she didn’t get out of bed, except to take her daughters to school. As it turned out, filming turned out to be a welcomed distraction.

“I got to talk about things on and off camera, so, ultimately, I think it was good for me,” she said.

“Divorce is really hard, but thatʼs the reality of the situation. Women have to allow themselves to go through that [hard] part.”

The former couple, who met on the set of the TV movie An Unfinished Affair, had been together for 17 years before their split — a relationship Garth felt would last forever.

“We grew up together,” she told Celebuzz.

“I thought it would be forever, for sure. But if you want to look at it from the other side, we did beautiful things together, created beautiful memories and have beautiful children. I guess thatʼs what life is about.”

Even though Facinelli filed for divorce a mere three months after they separated — not to mention six days before Garth turned 40 — the pair is committed to their brood. Indeed, the whole family just spent the Easter vacation together.

“Peter and I are doing everything we can to keep the girls in a well rounded environment,” Garth said. “We put our own personal needs and feelings aside.”

As for dating, Garth seemed a little surprised when we asked about the prospect.

“Itʼs too early,” she said.

A Little Bit Country premieres April 20 at 9PM on CMT.

Peter, who officially filed for divorce last week, had only nice things to say about his soon-to-be-ex-wife, telling host Kelly Ripa, “Jen and I are doing really well. She’ll always be in my life.”

Still, the Nurse Jackie actor admitted the divorce has been “painful” for him due in great part to the attention it’s getting in the media; however, Peter said that he and Jennie are determined to get through, if only for the sake of their three children.

“We’re very dedicated to being great parents,” he said.

The couple announced earlier this month that they were separating, but they were adamant to shoot down infidelity claims. In a joint statement they said:

There are rumors out there which are completely untrue and hurtful to our family. We just want to make it very clear – there are no third parties involved.

While promoting her new reality show, Jennie Garth told Celebuzz she was ready to start a “brand new adventure in life.”

“I’m starting a brand new adventure in life,” she tells Celebuzz. She and hubby Peter Facinelli filed for divorce, now she’s moving on with her daughters on an epic adventure on their own. Her family will be featured on Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country, which takes them out of Hollywood and into, well, the country!

“It’s kind of a reality show, but I like to think of it as an altered reality show because my life has kind of been like an altered reality,” she says. “I’ve always wanted to move with my girls to the country and live on a farm with animals. I decided to let people come in and film it. This started out as something else, then turned into something else, and now it’s turned into this…[laughs]now it’s going to be on TV. “ 

The drama in her private life will play out on the show, but Peter won’t be making an appearance.

“If people watch it, great. If they don’t, great. I’ve never thought I’d be doing this, but I love reality shows, so be it.”

She’s also working hard to help kids in need with another new project, launching the first in a series of “Breakfast & A Book” reading events to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories program. Just this morning, she led a special book reading for Los Angeles-area children, where she encouraged donations to First Book, a nonprofit that provides great access to books.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that Peter Facinelli and his wife Jennie Garth were headed for a break-up since they’ve (supposedly) been living in separate locations (Peter in Santa Ynez, Jennie in Toluca Lake), but a source revealed to Celebuzz that this simply is not the case.

So, what’s the deal?

According to our sources, Peter and Jennie have been renting out their Toluca Lake home to a third party, and the whole family has been living in the Santa Ynez home, in between their summer travels.

In fact, Peter is heading to the east coast in a matter of days, followed up by a big family vacay in Dubai and the Maldives.

“Jennie is living in the family home in Toluca Lake and Peter has been renting a home in Santa Ynez,” according to Perez’s source. “It’s not looking good!”

Celebuzz hears from sources close to the couple that nothing is out of the ordinary in Peter and Jennie’s relationship, and they don’t see how anything could be going wrong.

“They were just on a family vacation together in Europe and had a great time. They leave at the end of the week to continue traveling.”

Apparently they are going somewhere tropical — how romantic!

Facinelli’s wife Jennie Garth tells Parade that their daughter Luca Bella, like any teen, isn’t leaping at the chance to show off her dad at school:

She’s more embarrassed by it, actually. She’s like, ‘Let’s not talk anything Twilight. Don’t mention it. Wear a hat to my school.’ She’s a little embarrassed by it, she wants people to like her for her and not because of him, or want to come to our house because of that. It’s something we deal with. But she’s proud of him.

Though Facinelli was named worst vampire ever by the discerning critics at Rolling Stone (a charge Twi-fans vehemently denied), he will return to film Breaking Dawn this fall. If Luca is embarrassed by her dad’s fame now, she’s really going to be reeling after the final two installments of Twilight are revealed to the viewing public. Sorry Luca!

Peter Facinelli plays Rob Pattinson‘s father, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, in the Twilight saga and recently spoke to the New York Daily News about how he keeps things interesting in the bedroom with his 90210 wife Jennie Garth.

She makes him pretend to be his vampire character in bed! 

“She has me dress up like all the time. She says, ‘Put the doctor’s coat on!’ I’m like, ‘Again?’”

Role playing, huh? We like it! 

While filming an episode of the hit CW series 90210 today, Jennie Garth (a/k/a Kelly Taylor) and Tori Spelling (a/k/a Donna Martin) were caught in an uncharacteristic Los Angeles storm. (Didn’t anyone tell Mother Nature that it never rains in Southern California?)

Lucky for Tori, who recently signed on for the revamp of ’90s TV classic Beverly Hills, 90210, Garth was gracious enough to share her umbrella with her newly reunited castmate.

You just know that Brenda Walsh would have totally left Tori out in the rain. ANd maybe poked her in the shin with the umbrella tip.  

“Today I went to Coffee Bean and got him a drink—just keeping your partner in mind,” Garth tells OK!. “In this industry, there’s always going to be someone more beautiful out there. It’s easy to be tempted. I’m not interested in taking the easy way out. Divorce is not an option for us. I want to be with my family.”

Garth, who was married previously, has three daughters with Facinelli: Luca Bella, 11, Lola Ray, 5, and Fiona Eve, 2.

As for Garth’s alter ego’s love life, her 90210 character “Kelly Taylor” would seem to welcome a visit from Luke Perry‘s “Dylan McKay.” After all, it was recently revealed that Dylan sired Kelly’s son! Gasp!

“There are lots of rumors, but I don’t know. I know that I would love it more than anything and I know that he’s the father of Kelly’s baby. I was like, ‘Really? Okay, wow!’”

She also claims to have tried to text former arch-rival Shannen Doherty since Shannen last appeared on the show, but claims, “I couldn’t find her number!”

A likely story.

Radar reports that Doherty originally had no wish to ever bring Minnesota transplant and accomplished shrieker Brenda Walsh to the small screen again after leaving the original series at the end of its fourth season.

“As an actor, to go back and play a character that I had already, in my opinion, exhausted … like, what’s the challenge?” she said.

“I’ve worked for 27 years, steadily, thanks to very loyal fans. What’s the one way to say thank you? To play a character that you thought you’d never play again in the one show they want to see.”

Plus, the gossip hater reportedly made $50,000 an episode. More than enough reason to spar with Kelly Taylor again.
