Following the news that she was ousted from the competition, Jane held back tears as she recalled what her dad told her, “[My dad said,] ‘I’ve been said no to a bunch of times,’ and it worked out well for him in the end so hopefully I have a shot.”

The news of her leaving the show came after Jane, 24, chose to perform Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Looking Out My Back Door” as part of Hollywood Week. Before hitting the stage, she said of her song, “My expectations of this week are that I’ll stay here, so get used to me!”

However, following the shaky performance, she knew that it didn’t go so well. Jane told cameras, “I know I can do way better than that so I’m really disappointed.”

Now, he appears to have one-upped himself based on these new stills from the set of 30 Rock, in which he dons some type of old-man circus outfit that he eventually strips off.

No word yet on what goes down in the episode, but, between Jim and Tina Fey, we’re guessing it’ll be pretty awesome.

The funnyman got a special visit from her daughter Jane on Tuesday while shooting on the Los Angeles set of the comedy. 

While Jim is doing what he does best, physical comedy, Jane is looking to get some star power of her own. On Sunday night’s American Idol, the Hollywood heir auditioned for American Idol. 

Jane, 24, sang Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About,” and got a golden ticket! She’s going to Hollywood! 

Meanwhile back on the Burt Wonderstone set, Jim has been looking more like Criss Angel than Ace Ventura. The actor is channeling his inner magician for this new hilarious role, portraying character Steve Haines. The movie description reads: “After breaking up with his longtime stage partner, a famous but jaded Vegas magician (Steve Carrell) fights for relevance when a new, ‘hip’ street magician (Jim) appears on the scene.”

The Hollywood heir chose to sing Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Something to Talk About,’ and the judges were quite impressed. 

“The last name definitely helps and hurts. There’s this pressure to be better because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying ‘you only got there because of this.’” Jane said in a preview clip that aired before her audition. “I’m here to make my place in the world.”

Regardless, she may still have a leg up as this wasn’t the first time the Carrey family had a friendly TV run-in with Idol judge Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer worked together with Jane’s dad Jim on the show In Living Color when she was a Fly Girl. Check out JLo in the video below. 

Meanwhile back at Idol, Papa Jim was very proud of his daughter following her audition.  The Yes Man actor sang Jane’s praises to Ryan Seacrest over the phone, saying:

“She’s so wonderful and amazing to me, I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has inside of her. This is going to be a fantastic year.”

Earlier this month, Jim showed up with an ombre-esque hair ‘do, goatee, tattoos, skinny jeans and a number of other indicators that he’s spoofing a magic man. Jim’s character name is Steve Haines, and at one point in the scenes, he gets punched, thus leaving a huge bump on his face. All for the film, of course! 

Jim isn’t the only familiar face in the comedy.

Not only did Ben Stiller reveal that he had penned a script for Zoolander 2 (with Justin Theroux no less), but it was also reported that the Farrelly Brothers are looking to bring back their beloved comedy Dumb and Dumber, starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Though it’s been 10 years since Zoolander‘s theatrical release and 17 since Dumb and Dumber, there is still the huge chance that these films could be box office gold.

While nothing is confirmed in either of these cases, it sure is fun to think about isn’t it?

The 49-year old funnyman, who is known for his outrageous spontaneity both onscreen and off, recently went all-out to proclaim his love for Emma Stone, posting a sweet, yet mildly uncomfortable video on his website in which he stated:

“Emma, I think you’re all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but smart and kind-hearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you … We would have chubby little freckle-faced kids, we’d laugh all day long, go camping and play Yahtzee. Tell ghost stories by the fire.”

He later went on Twitter and proclaimed the video was all a joke. 

Like Jim said in his video for Emma, Kathy also thinks Justin is “all the way beautiful.” The 50-year-old comedian continues, “If I could, I would marry you. Oh, that’s actually not true. It’s messy, Justin. There’s a distribution of assets. We would just go steady.”

Kathy jokes that she’d liked to have kids with the “Baby” singer if she “has one egg left.” Despite her “feelings” for the Biebs, there is one problem. 

“I’m a lot older than you Justin Bieber. I’m 29, 39, 49. Just look me up. I have lines under my ass and gray hair in my beard.”

She rounds out this spoof love message by telling Justin, “Anyway, you are special and I hope you continue to have artistic fulfillment. … This isn’t weird at all. You’re the one who’s crazy. Love, Kathy.” 

Who knew that Carrey would be so awestruck by Stone that he’d take to the web to profess his love for The Help beauty? On his web site, a bleary-eyed Carrey gushed:

And what about the whopping 27-year age difference between the duo? Carrey, 49, admits, “I have lines on my face, sometimes a little gray in my beard, and it takes me a little bit longer to pee than it used to.”

Unfortunately for Carrey, Stone is reportedly dating her Spider-Man co-star, Andrew Garfield – and Carrey seems to know that he has no shot, but still wishes her the best.

“I think you’re very special and I wish you continued success and artistic fulfillment … But most of all, I wish you love and contentment.”

Radar Online reports that the 49-year-old I Love You Philip Morris actor has found love again—with 24-year-old former America’s Next Top Model contestant Anchal Joseph. The actor and his youthful new love interest were spotted in New York on Thursday night, walking hand-in-hand after watching a performance of the Laura Linney play Time Stands Still.

Joseph, who was born in New Delhi, India, was eliminated from the seventh season of ANTM, but continues to pursue a modeling career in New York.

To put the age difference in perspective, Carrey—who broke up with McCarthy, 38. last April—became a grandfather last year when his daughter, Jane, gave birth to a son. Jane is 23—a mere year younger than Joseph. Maybe he’s trying to give Hugh Hefner a run for his money?

While filming the Mr. Popper’s Penguins remake in NYC, the funny man and co-star Carla Gugino bundled up and skated at the Wollman Rink in Central Park. If this whole “movie star” thing doesn’t work out for him, Jim could definitely have a career in the ice capades.

That’s the question being asked by Hollywood this weekend in the shadow of I Love You Phillip Morris and Black Swan, both out Friday and both featuring highly publicized same-sex hookups between their lead actors.

Jim Carrey spoke jokingly to Parade about his emotions surrounding kissing on-screen lover Ewan McGregor for Phillip Morris: ”A dream come true. I mean, look at the guy. I have to say, he is a great kisser. As Ewan said, ‘When you’re kissing another guy it can get a little prickly.’ Actually, you had to put out of your mind your own sexual preference and just try to understand that you were loving another person who just happens to be a guy. It wasn’t about male or female, love is love.”

Although originally meant for release in 2009, the film’s date was postponed several times by distributers because of uncertainty about how American audiences would react to the gay aspects of the film. Ultimately, it was re-edited to remove the more explicit content.

Black Swan takes the same-sex mingling a step further with a full-on sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. In a separate interview with Parade, Kunis revealed what filming the scene was like: “We knew it was going to attract attention. We were just hoping that people would walk away after seeing the movie not just isolating in their memory that scene when we have sex. I think it’s important to the story. It wasn’t done for shock value, but we weren’t looking forward to it.”

Sure, there are the celebs that we follow just because we like them (or because we want to follow someone ironically and have people think we are “clever”) but, perhaps more importantly, there are the celebrities who we love to hate-follow.
