Now trending is the case of slain Florida teenager, Trayvon Martin, who was gunned down in a gated community by a neighborhood watchman. 

On February 26 of this year, a 17 year-old-boy named Trayvon Martin was shot in Florida by a man who claimed to be a neighborhood watchman in a gated community.  The boy was unarmed and walking through the community when he was pursued by George Zimmerman – who claimed the boy looked “suspicious.”  At some point during the pursuit of the boy, Zimmerman shot and killed him, claiming that he felt “threatened.”

There has been an outcry by many celebrities to bring attention to this case, specifically that the killer is still free and has yet to be charged with the murder. From Anderson Cooper to Gabrielle Union, Star Jones, and John Legend, here’s what some celebs are saying about this very controversial case:

As seen last week with the massive spreading of the KONY viral video, there seems to be no limit to amount of people that can be reached when word begins to spread on a socially relevant cause.

So, what does Chrissy have to say about the menu?

Following your tweets, it’s easy to see you love food. Have you started brainstorming about food before anything else?
You know what, that is the only thing I truly perk up talking about [the wedding]. It’s like, ‘Oh my God, what’s the menu going to be?!’ Everything else is beautiful, but it’s a bit of a chore. But the food for me is going to be so much fun.

What would your ideal menu have on it?
Definitely family style. I don’t like a buffet at a wedding. [Laughs] Oh my God, I blab so much, everyone knows everything! Very hearty foods, we love ribs, we love meat, we’re big meat eaters. But my problem is I don’t want everyone to eat a bunch of ribs, then pass out. I want them to keep it going!

We were told we need to ask you about your 3 AM spray tans.
Oh my god, I landed at two, and I texted my spray tan guy, who I found only because I tweeted and was like, “Who is amazing in Vegas?” They all told me this one guy, Terry, who is absolutely fabulous. I texted him as soon as I landed at two and was like, “I’m so sorry, do you think you could do a tan at 2:30?” and I felt terrible. And he responded, “3 AM is better for me.” Because that is how Vegas operates! I couldn’t believe it!

John’s engagement news was announced on Tuesday. The “R&B” singer proposed to longtime girlfriend and model Chrissy Teigen. “John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,” the 32-year-old’s rep told People.com.

Matthew confirmed his proposal on his WhoSay by posting a picture of him and his future Brazilian bride Camila Alves with a caption that read: “Just asked Camila to marry me. … Merry Christmas.”

The 6-time Grammy Award winning R&B crooner performed a seven-song set to a crowd of hundreds huddled at the Bloomberg Rotunda in Midtown New York. Legend sang his chart-topping singles “Green Light,” “Ordinary People,” and “Wake Up,” along with updated versions of seasonal standards, like “The Christmas Song” and “This Christmas.”

During his introduction of the film, West once again broached the topic of the fallout he experienced in the wake of his infamous “I’ma let you finish” moment with Taylor Swift, recalling,

“After years of trying to make it happen… the next day I wake up and people are saying, ‘die n*gga die,’ only cause you tried to make a change. I lost my tour, I lost my clothing line, my mother passed…Even this film was shot down, but we’re rockstars—f*ck your opinion. My swag is so one hundred million trillion.”

Musicians like Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae and Eminem gave show-stopping performances. Host Queen Latifah took us on a fashion flashback. Chris Brown cried. Nicki Minaj wore three different wigs. All in all, it was a great night filled with great performances, even if Justin Bieber couldn’t make it.

Declare Yourself is the youth voter initiative which helped get the 18-plus set across the country into the voting booths last November.  The organization continues to help inspire young people to remain civic-minded.

Joining the newly reunited Lohan, 22, and Ronson, 31, (they were seen with their arms around each other on the red carpet) were Heroes‘ cheerleader Hayden Panettiere, Jamie Foxx, Usher and comedian Sarah Silverman.

The fete was hosted by an Honor-less Jessica Alba. Maroon 5 and John Legend handled the entertainment (accompanied by Ronson spinning records while Fornarina model Lohan allegedly texted behind her in the DJ booth).

Alba, 27, was the spokesface of Declare Yourself (with assistance from Panettiere), appearing in a series of provocative PSAs last year.

Ronson sported a nifty new faux-hawk. Either that or she was able to turn a case of bedhead to her advantage.

“I believe that every organization that was trying to get people to vote and get people to register that never had before, whether it was the youth, whether it was just new voters, people who didn’t believe in the system, this campaign and all the other campaigns—they believe now,” Alba said, according to the LA Times. “They made a difference.”

Alba’s hubby Cash Warren noted that daughter Honor had to be left at home, but she is “chubby and delicious.”

Please don’t eat your baby, Cash. It might make Jessica a tad grouchy.
