And then there were two . . . sort of.

CBS has ordered another season of Two and a Half Men, the network announced on Twitter on Friday. But it looks like Angus T. Jones will have to look elsewhere for a full time job.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Television are “working out a deal” for the 19-year-old, who’s been on the series since day one. Jones may find himself in a recurring role when Season 11 starts in the fall.

Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer will be back at least for one more year, making the new season Kutcher’s third since replacing Charlie Sheen in 2011.

Earlier this year, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said the network wanted Jones “to be part of it next year.”

“I think he would like to come back too, we would like him to . . . He made his public apology, and we’ve moved on. And we’d like the show back, and we’d like him to come back too,” she told reporters at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena.

Jones infamously urged viewers to stop watching the show in November 2012 and called Two and a Half Men “filth” in a YouTube video for Forerunner Chronicles. He later issued an apology to show creator Chuck Lorre, the studio, network and co-stars.

Emmy-winner Jon Cryer was enthralled with Two and a Half men guest star Miley Cyrus when she filmed her guest role as Missi. Her fans may be, too, after seeing her in bed with Ashton Kutcher in these first-look pictures.

Speaking backstage at Sunday’s Emmys, Cryer said of Cyrus, “She plays kind of a motormouth character. So, they gave her page-long monologues. And all week she was on book with them, which is understandable.”

By “On book,” Cryer meant that the guest star was acting with a script throughout dress rehearsals. Cryer added that he was nervous that she was still on book as late as two hours before filming. Once the cameras rolled, however, he was blown away by her performance.

“Then, we did it in front of the audience, Miley brought it. Miley was just on fire, did fantastic,” said Cryer. “Then, I remembered, ‘Oh, yes, she was actually hatched in the Disney labs in Burbank and grown for just this sitcom situation.’”

What else can we tell you about Cyrus’ role?

Cyrus’ Missi is a friend of Walden’s (Kutcher) who will come to stay with him and Alan (Cryer) for a few days in Los Angeles. She will reportedly be starting up a relationship with Alan’s son Jake (Angus T. Jones), who is on leave from the Army during her two-episode stint.

Her character will first appear on Thursday, Oct. 18, in the episode entitled, “You Know What the Lollipop is For.”

Two and a Half Men‘s tenth season premieres on Thursday at 8:30 PM on CBS.

It’s always fun to be in the press room backstage at the Emmys and talk to the newly-minted winners, who are still stunned and euphoric and not entirely coherent. For an instant, they get to gloat, before pretending once again that the real honor is just being mentioned alongside their fellow nominees.

So it was with the 2012 Primetime Emmys, where a slew of winners from Homeland, Modern Family, and other acclaimed shows got to strut their stuff and wave their trophies for a moment. Like every year, the 2012 Emmy Awards had its fair mix of jaw-dropping surprises, predictable winners and off-the-cut moments.

From Julia Louis-Drefyus‘ hilarious acceptance speech to Jon Cryer’s head-scratching win for Best Comedy Actor, Celebuzz has compiled a list of the best and worst moments from Sunday’s telecast.

What will everyone be talking about on Monday?

You could look at this year’s Emmy race in the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series category as:

A.) A showdown among perennial favorites, hungry newcomers, and the worthy-but-previously ignored;

B.) A critique of modern corporate capitalism and masculine anxiety, as manifest in six satirical caricatures;

C.) An oddsmaker’s toss-up; or

D.) All of the above.

We’re going with last choice. We’d rather just look back at the generally stellar episodes these six funny guys submitted and laugh than crunch the numbers on their odds for victory. The Emmy voters seem equally fond of crowning newcomers as they do rewarding safe, old favorites (even after their shows have jumped the shark). Still, looking at each nominee, we’ll offer a quick take on their prospects as they pan for Emmy gold.

Here’s the scouting report in the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series race.

Alec Baldwin: Baldwin won this prize twice early in 30 Rock’s run, but since then he’s been eclipsed by fellow contender Jim Parsons. The fact that 30 Rock is going off the air after next season could reinforce the show’s growing air of irrelevance… or it could remind voters that they’ll only have two more chances (now and next September) to give Baldwin the gold. The episode submitted on his behalf, “Live from Studio 6H,” was an especially strong showcase of his talents, since he played not just Jack Donaghy but also five other characters — and he did it live, twice, in one night. Emmy chances: Moderate.

Don Cheadle: Cheadle’s been nominated for several Emmys, all as a dramatic actor. His House of Lies turn marks his first recognition for his comic gifts. His submission, the series pilot (“Gods of Dangerous Financial Instruments“), was a fine introduction to his character, in all his extremes of behavior, but the premium cable series itself may be too weird, cynical, and off-putting for middle-of-the-road Emmy voters. Emmy chances: Poor.

Louis C.K.: The comic jack-of-all-trades has been nominated many times, mostly for his writing. He was also nominated in this category last year, and the depth of his performance has only increased since then. His “Duckling” episode of Louie, which was submitted to voters, depicted the comedian’s patriotic visit to Afghanistan with a USO tour and was one of the most oddly moving hours of TV created last year. Paradoxically, C.K.’s many strengths on display (he also wrote, directed, produced, and edited the episode) may be his undoing. After all, he’s also nominated this year for writing and directing; Emmy voters may decide to reward him in one of those categories instead. Besides, he’ll almost certainly be back in this category next year. Emmy chances: Eh.

Jon Cryer: Cryer has been nominated for playing sad sack Alan Harper for seven years running, and he even won once. But that was always in the supporting category, as the lead role nomination for Two and a Half Men was reserved for Charlie Sheen. With Sheen notoriously out of the picture as of last season, Cryer got promoted, but that just means he faces even stiffer competition than before. His episode (“Frodo’s Headshots“), shows Alan all but losing his mind. And while actors love to watch other actors playing mentally ill, Emmy voters from other branches may wonder what all the fuss is about, since the show has clearly lost a lot of its, um, sheen. Emmy chances: Doubtful.

Larry David: Like C.K., David has been nominated many times, mostly for his writing, though this year marks the fifth time he’s been cited for playing Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm. David ought to get extra credit for his largely improvised performance, not to mention for the fact that his submission, “Palestinian Chicken,” was a brilliant satire of intractable Middle East politics as well as one of the funniest Curb episodes ever. David loses some points for offensive content that may put off some voters, but otherwise, we’d say of his Emmy chances: Pretty, pretty, pret-tay good.

Jim Parsons: Parsons has won this award twice in a row. The Big Bang Theory star has now achieved a kind of Zen effortlessness in his performance as Sheldon — no mean feat when a character is so uptight that his world spins out of control when his regular barber is unavailable to trim his hair (as on the episode Parsons submitted, “The Werewolf Transformation.“) The voters might be willing to recognize some new blood in this category, but given the show’s continued popularity among viewers and critics alike, the award is his to lose. Emmy chances: Astronomical.

It looks like Ashton Kutcher seems at ease on the set of Two and a Half Men. The mastermind behind Punk’d got up close and personal with his co-star Jon Cryer on last night’s episode. After a failed pick up attempt with two ladies at a bar, who just so happen to be more into each other than either of the guys, Ashton retorts with, “You thought we were hitting on you? Maybe I have to spell it out for you!”

That’s when the long-haired hottie grabbed an unsuspecting Jon and leaned in for a grade-A smooch! Jon had the last laugh as he uttered the line, “We’re here. We’re queer. Get used to it.”

The hilarious kiss wasn’t the only highlight of last night’s episode. True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello made an appearance as the new boyfriend of Walden’s (Ashton) ex-wife. Watch their hilarious interaction below!

Congratulations are in order for Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer!

The actor, who has been working in film and television for the better part of two decades, was bestowed with the honor on Monday afternoon — just in time for Monday night’s Men season premiere! A number of celebs came to celebrate, including his new co-star Ashton Kutcher!

Aside from his role on the hilarious CBS sitcom, he is best known for playing Duckie in the iconic 80s John Hughes film Pretty in Pink.

We’re one week away from Ashton Kutcher‘s official debut on Two and a Half Men, and it looks like the folks over at CBS are feeling generous, as they’ve released a little sneak peek.

In the revamped opening title sequence, it shows a scraggily Ashton, a grown up Angus T. Jones and a relatively the same Jon Cryer singing their little hearts out.

It’s being reported that Ashton will play a broken hearted Internet billionaire who buys Charlie’s old beach house after he dies, and convinces Jon and Angus’ characters to keep living there.

We’re getting closer and closer to Ashton Kutcher‘s debut on Two and a Half Men, and while this sneek peek might not be as exciting as the last nearly nude one, it’s definitely a big deal!

In this just-released shot, Ashton is shown officially taking Charlie Sheen‘s place in the signature opening intro.

Charlie isn’t sitting at home twiddling his thumbs, though, as he as officially started developing a pilot based on the 2003 Adam Sandler film Anger Management.

The new and improved Two and a Half Men will premiere on CBS September 19.

Ashton Kutcher shows off his raunchy humor in the teaser ad for the upcoming season of Two and a Half Men. The campaign shows Ashton, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones seemingly naked while holding up a banner with their launch date that reads: “All will be revealed…”

Yep, they’ve got our attention.

Ashton seems to be settling in as Charlie Sheen‘s replacement on the hit sitcom, but recently acknowledged that he has big warlock boots to fill, saying in a statement:

“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes. I can’t replace Charlie Sheen, but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”

Ashton is reportedly getting a huge paycheck for his new TV role. Sources say he’ll rake in $1 million per episode on Two and a Half Men!

Meanwhile, Charlie is rebounding with his own new sitcom. The actor officially announced his show will be based on the movie Anger Management, which is about a non-confrontational man who is ordered to attend group anger management.

So this is what Matthew McConaughey has been getting in shape for with the sexy trainer.

The actor joined Jennifer Lopez and Jon Cryer this morning in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, which raised money for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

McConaughey even stripped off his body suit for the cameras. Hey, he’s doin’ it for the kids!

Lopez completed the biking, swimming and running event in two hours, 23 minutes and 38.8 seconds.

“I feel really great and so glad I finished and that I made it out of the water. But more amazing than that, I feel really great that we raised $127,000 for the Children’s Hospital, and hopefully it’ll go to good use,” said Lopez, as noted by Us.

McConaughey’s race time was one hour, 30 minutes and 44.7 seconds.

All in all, the event raised $950,000.
