In honor of Memorial Day, Celebuzz is taking a look at how Hollywood has portrayed those who have served in uniform. (And while we’re at it, actors who well, just look good in army green).

In recent years, moviegoers have seen the likes of Matt Damon, Ryan Phillippe, Jeremy Renner and (in the romantic war drama category) Zac Efron portray marines, pilots and other uniformed characters from the two World Wars, the War in Afghanistan and in the case of Zero Dark Thirty, the operation leading to death of Osama bin Laden.

Let’s hear it for freedom.

When celebs need to really get away from it all, they head out to the most breathtaking and exotics destinations on Earth.  And why not?  They can afford to find those special spots where privacy and luxury are the orders of the day.

From Josh Duhamel and wife Fergie hitting a quiet beach in St. Barths, to exclusive Necker Island where the biggest A-listers play, today’s gallery features those places that truly capture what it means to vacation like a celebrity.

Spring has sprung!

Easter weekend was a time for celebs to spend with their families and get out to enjoy the warmer weather.

Father-to-be Josh Duhamel took some time off from prepping for his baby and was seen jogging in his Los Angeles neighborhood on Sunday.

The 40-year-old actor went to church service in Brentwood with his pregnant wife Fergie and the two looked happier than ever about their newest family addition.

Meanwhile Halle Berry enjoyed some rest and relaxation with her family in Hawaii.

The Call star was spotted taking daughter Nahla on an Easter Egg hunt in Maui on Sunday.

Back on the West Coast, Spring Breakers actress Vanessa Hudgensgot in some retail therapy over the weekend. She was seen grabbing sundresses at Planet Blue in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Josh Duhamel may have hosted the show on Saturday, but his wife Fergie got just as much attention when the cameras weren’t rolling.

The singer, who dressed up her lovely baby bump in a fish tank dress for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, cradled her belly on the red carpet (which was actually purple) and at one point — introduced it to a young fan.

Inside the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles, BFFs Selena Gomez and Katy Perry were caught going gaga over the expectant mom’s belly.

“Tune in tonight 2 watch my man host the #KCA on #Nickelodeon! @joshduhamel #SlimeTime,” Fergie, 37, wrote on Twitter prior to the show.

The Black Eyed Peas singer, who announced her baby news on Twitter in February, recently told Good Morning America that she has “no idea” what she’s doing as parenthood approaches.

“I’m just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in,” she said.

Say what, Fergie?

The mom-to-be certainly had an interesting choice of words after learning that she was pregnant with her first child.

“She was the one when we first found out that was like, ‘This [bleep] just got real,” her husband Josh Duhamel told The New York Post. “Those were the first words out of her mouth.”

Despite her surprising reaction, the “Duchess” singer couldn’t be more happy for her soon-to-be bundle of joy.

“Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump,” she captioned a hilarious pic of her and Duhamel on Twitter as their baby announcement.

As for the Safe Haven actor, he’s already looking forward to his new role as proud papa.

“I’m not 24, I’ve got some life experience that I think I can impart. My mother was the disciplinarian and my father was more of a free spirit. Hopefully I’m somewhere in between,” he said.

Since sharing their good news, the couple have been jetting all over the world as Duhamel promotes his latest movie, also starring Julianne Hough.

Who knew Josh Duhamel was such a chameleon?

In the latest promos for his hosting the upcoming 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, the actor dons disguises and drag to transform into the likes of this year’s crop of nominees, from Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, to “Gangnam Style” phenom Psy and One Direction’s Harry Styles.

From dancing around as a pajama-clad Swift, to singing on the shore as Styles, to suiting up for Psy’s famous side-stepping horse dance, Duhamel spoofs pop stars in the spot that encourages fans to vote for their favorite singers ahead of the award show, which will honor kids’ favorites in film, music, sports and television during its March 23 ceremony.

Hollywood may have had its biggest night of the year on Sunday, but it was business as usual for some of the industry’s most talented the following day.

Andrew Garfield turned on his Spidey senses on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in New York City on Monday. The 29-year-old actor will reprise his role as the superhero for the highly anticipated sequel, out in 2014.

The film will also star his real-life girlfriend Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field and Paul Giamatti.

Elsewhere in the city, Willow Smith was spotted leaving her hotel in SoHo. Over the weekend, it was announced that the title role of the upcoming Annie remake will go to Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis.

Smith, who was originally considered for the part, eventually grew too old for it.

In Hollywood, Jessica Alba donned a fun leopard top while running errands around town. The mother of two recently surpassed her 666th post on Instagram — a bad luck milestone caught by her husband CashWarren.

“Phew #667 post. Glad @CashWarren caught that #superstitious ;),” she wrote on Sunday.

In couples sightings, Donald Faison and his pregnant wife Cacee Cobb attended a gifting event in Beverly Hills, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian ran errands in Los Angeles and Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell took a stroll in the gorgeous sunshine.

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and it appears that lovers spent their time at home – or at least away from movie theaters – instead of celebrating their affection via the silver screen.

Meanwhile, action lovers turned out in droves to watch Bruce Willis beat the stuffing out of bad guys in A Good Day to Die Hard, and in slightly fewer numbers, comedy fans came back yet again to check out Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman in Identity Thief.

From everyday errands, red carpet appearances to plain old work, the stars have been keeping busy in the last 24 hours.

Lucy Liu reported for duty on the set of Elementary in New York City on Wednesday. The 44-year-old, who plays Dr. Watson on the CBS series, stayed warm in a blue scarf and long coat as she braved the chilly weather.

Elsewhere in the Big Apple, AnnaSophia Robb donned another cute dress on the set of The Carrie Diaries. The young actress was spotted filming new scenes outside the famous Bergdorf Goodman store on Fifth Avenue.

On the west coast, Scott Disick was on daddy duty as he took son Mason out to lunch in Calabasas, Calif. The duo sported matching black jackets as they enjoyed the gorgeous sunny weather.

There’s also been plenty of star sightings across the pond. Justin Beiber, who is currently in town for his Believe tour, was spotted hitting up popular eatery Mint Leaf Restaurant in London.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift donned a stunning black dress for the 2013 BRIT Awards. The singer’s ex, Harry Styles, and rest of the One Direction boys were also on the same red carpet.

Looks like her lovely lady lumps will get even lovelier.

Fergie has announced on Twitter that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Josh Duhamel.

“Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump,” she wrote, along with an adorable Photoshopped snapshot of the couple as toddlers.

A rep for Fergie later confirmed the tweet to Celebuzz.

Duhamel, who just turned 40, echoed his wife’s words on his own Twitter account.

“Fergie and Me and BABY makes three. #MyLovelyBabyBump,” he wrote.

Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, recently sparked pregnancy rumors after she was spotted wearing oversized clothing earlier this month.

“[People ask if I’m pregnant] every time I fluctuate a few times . . . sometimes I go a couple pounds down and I wear the clothes that are more fitted, but people kind of look at me because they’re expecting it’s that time,” she said on The Rachael Ray Show last fall.

“We do hope for children and that will be coming up, but it’s not yet.”

Meanwhile, Duhamel, who has been busy doing press for his new film Safe Haven, most recently shot down rumors at the movie’s L.A. premiere on Feb. 5.

The actor gave a simple “No” to E! News when he was asked if there was any new family news to report.

The superstar couple dated for five years before tying the knot in January 2009 in Malibu, Calif.

It’s that time of year again, movie buffs! Yep, that’s right. Another Valentine’s Day, another overtly romantic movie with a poster of the two beautiful lead actors in an embrace.

This year’s selection is an adaptation of a novel from the man who seems to have nothing but romantic bones in his body, Nicholas Sparks. Seriously, Sparks is like the romantic gift that keeps on giving.

The latest novel-turned-sappy-movie is Safe Haven, starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. The pair of leads easily fit into the roster of Sparks-leads alumni including Amanda Seyfried, Mandy Moore, Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron, to name a few, but does the newest edition to the Nicholas Sparks movie collection have as much (pun intended) heart as the movies that came before it?

Critics weighed in, and according to them, the film is generally lackluster. But, in the end, it all depends on what the audience thinks. Meaning, don’t let the critics discourage you too much! Having said that, here’s a look at exactly what they had to say about the film:

Harsh, huh? Again, just take the reviews with a grain of salt. That said, did you see the latest romantic mush-fest that is Safe Haven? If so, do you agree with the critics? We at Celebuzz want to know (so we can decide whether or not to see it, too).

Since Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn brought Message in a Bottle to the screen in 2000, author Nicholas Sparks has entertained audiences with his deeply romantic and often tragic tales of love found, lost and regained.

Thirteen years later, Sparks revisits his winning formula again with Safe Haven, the story of a troubled young woman who finds love while on the run from her mysterious past.

But even after successfully creating some of the last decade’s most iconic romances, including The Notebook, the writer says that he’s sure of only one thing when it comes to creating these indelible stories.

“Everybody falls in love,” Sparks tells Celebuzz. “How do you make that original and fresh to somebody? How do you do that new? It’s been done so many times before.”

Sparks admits that he still struggles to find the right way to combine new circumstances and timeless ideas when crafting his latest tome.

“I don’t know still that I’m perfectly comfortable doing it,” he says. “Whenever you’re trying to evoke genuine emotion, it is a tough thing to do, especially when you’re trying to evoke a variety of them.”

Although his work certainly deserves credit for connecting these films with their audiences, Sparks insists that it’s the people on screen who truly make them memorable and effective.

“The elements that have made these films work are the chemistry,” Sparks says. “I’ve had actors with great chemistry. Ryan [Gosling], Rachel [McAdams], Channing Tatum – I’ve had great casts, great directors.”

This Valentine’s day, the world of cinema is giving us all kinds of choices when it comes to that iconic ritual of a “Valentine movie date.”

Going head-to-head-to-head this Thursday, February 14th is the newest installment of the Bruce Willis action franchise, A Good Day To Die Hard, the movie adaptation of another supernatural love story novel, Beautiful Creatures, and the movie adaptation of a more traditional love story, albeit one laced with mystery and danger, Safe Haven.

It’s really impossible to predict which of these movies will draw in the largest crowd on this holiday, because everyone celebrates differently.

Beautiful Creatures, a romantic thriller about a teen witch and a human who fall in love against the backdrop of a sleepy Southern town, features an all-star supporting cast including Emmy Rossum and Jeremy Irons. The film will surely attract people looking to ease their Twilight withdrawals. Meanwhile, the Nicholas Sparks adaptation Safe Haven, starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, will satisfy people who haven’t enjoyed a properly melodramatic romance since The Notebook.

But of course, there will definitely be people who want to go in the complete opposite direction and indulge in some good, old fashioned on-screen car chases and explosions. Die Hard promises to deliver just such an injection of adrenaline, as all the previous movies in the series have.

Has Josh Duhamel picked up a few dance moves from wife Fergie?

From the looks of Tuesday night…yes. The dapper actor showed off his fancy footwork as he paid a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote his latest film, Safe Haven.

“Here’s my one concern I would have being married to Fergie—dancing. Does she make you dance? She’s a good dancer,” Jimmy Fallon pondered.

“We’ve danced, but I keep the expectations low,” Duhamel replied. “We could dance if you’d like.”

Before he got to business, Duhamel waxed nostalgia, recalling a previous appearance his wife made on the talk show, which involved some hard alcohol.

“I saw her when she was on your show a while back, that’s a lot to live up to,” Duhamel added, “with the shots of vodka and everything else.”

Fallon then proceeded to show the audience his signature move: a backward arm motion with him saying “I’m going to the bar.”

And with that said, Duhamel called on the show’s house band, The Roots, to give the comedian some musical accompaniment.

“He gave us a little music, we could do it. I’m down,” Duhamel said.

The actor then joined Fallon, providing viewers a few seconds filled with sexy, booty-popping moves to much of the viewers’ approval.

But the fun didn’t end there. Staying in tradition of the show’s famous games, Fallon invited the actor to play “Cooler Scooters,” a race which involved the pair zipping around on motorized coolers while sipping on Budweiser from novelty beer hats.

“You’re going down, dude,” Duhamel told Fallon with a laugh.

Safe Haven hits theaters on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

The Notebook fans, rejoice – Nicholas Sparks is back on the big screen with another tale of romance in a sleepy Southern town.

In the new film Safe Haven, Sparks tells the tale of a young woman named Katie (Julianne Hough), who finds new love with a widowed father of two named Alex (Josh Duhamel) while trying to escape her troubled past.

In a new TV spot exclusive to Celebuzz, the fair fight for one another – sometimes literally – as their relationship slowly unfolds.

Speaking to her new friend Jo (Cobie Smulders), Katie admits that she arrives in town with a lot of baggage – albeit emotional rather than physical.

“I’ve had things happen to me in the past,” she says.

Katie later confesses to Alex that she finds comfort in their burgeoning relationship. She says, “I’m happy here, with you.”

Alex, thankfully, reassures her that he reciprocates her feelings, and wants to protect her, if he can.

“There’s no safer place than here with me,” he insists.
