Beads, boob-flashing and booze-fueled parades — such is the glory of Mardi Gras.

And as the annual festivities roll around each February, celebrities fly south to New Orleans soak up the Gras gaiety. This year, like every year, the Big Easy entertained a string celebrity-studded parades — put on by the krewes of Endymion, Bacchus and Orpheus, social clubs that coordinate the elaborate floats and costumes — during the lead up to Fat Tuesday.

Kelly Clarkson served as the Grand Marshal of Endymion on Saturday, waving from atop a float before performing in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome amid purple, green and gold lights, marking the first major event hosted at the arena since the Super Bowl blackout.

“I’m the Grand Marshal of Mardi Gras!!! Most fun ever!!!!!… Yeahhhhh! (sic) Endymion Parade,” she tweeted excitedly, adding that she and fiancé Brandon Blackstock ”had so much fun leading the Mardi Gras parade!”

The following day, actor G.W. Bailey of TNT’s Major Crimes reigned as the king of the Bacchus parade, a honor held by comedian Will Ferrell last year. And Monday afternoon, Nick Cannon will ride as a celebrity monarch in the krewe of Orpheus, along with krewe co-founder Harry Connick Jr., CSI: NY star Gary Sinise and award-winning actress Mariska Hargitay.

Last year, Shutter Island actress Patricia Clarkson reigned over the all-women krewe of Muses, rock-pop band Maroon 5 rode with the krewe Endymion, and music superstars Bret Michaels and Cyndi Lauper teamed up with Orpheus.

While some celebrities revel Mardi Gras from atop a festooned flat, tossing countless trinkets and beads to the cheering crowds below, others — like Girls Gone Wild partier Luke Wilson and beads-horder Kate Hudson— mix in with the partying masses right on the streets of the Big Easy.

So in honor of Fat Tuesday, a day devoted to frivolous partying in the final hours before Ash Wednesday — which kicks off the Catholic Lenten season of sacrifice — Celebuzz looks back at some celebrities who have gotten into the Mardi Gras spirit in the past.

This rumored new Hollywood couple got cozy with some coffee on Monday. Pearl Harbor star Josh Hartnett walked with Mama Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried through the starlet’s Los Feliz, Calif. neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Dressed casually, the two carried coffee as they walked down the small strip of shops and restaurants. The possible couple have already had their dogs meet.

Josh, 33, and Amanda, 26, were all smiles as their pups (Amanda’s dog Finn and Josh’s pet Iggy) got to know one another as they splashed in the waves this past March.

Amanda has been very vocal about her dating life in the past, telling Glamour magazine that she’s not one to date a lot of men. The Big Love star told the publication,

“I’m terrified of being promiscuous. I don’t like the feeling you get when it’s not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward.”

Where has hottie Josh Hartnett been?!? It’s been ages since we’d seen the actor before he stepped out Thursday night, May 26, looking sexier than ever!

Josh wore a tuxedo to the El Museo 2011 Gala in New York City, and had a little bit of sexy stubble as he posed for pics. The actor rode in solo, but according to some tabloids, the Pearl Harbor actor is setting out to prove he’s not the ladies man that everyone thinks he is. 

According to DailyRecord.co.uk, he said in an interview, 

“They called me a Hollywood cad. I think it’s fantastic, having been in two real relationships in my life. .. It doesn’t surprise me because they want to make a story out of anything, really.”

He added, “Ninety-five percent of the rumors are false and I just laugh. It’s funny how they connect you to everyone in the room.”

Josh Hartnett made a rare appearance in New York City while rocking some geek chic glasses along with a beanie and scarf.

Josh Hartnett, 30, had been sidelined from his starring role in the London production of Rain Main by a bad case of Sienna Miller food poisoning. It looks like all systems are go now.

Hartnett has resumed his role in London’s West End at the Apollo Theatre as the younger brother scheming to use his autistic-savant older brother’s math wizardry to save his business.

Since November 17, according to Broadway World, the last four performances of the production were Josh-free.  The leading man had been briefly hospitalized due to intense stomach pains.

Speaking of causing intense pain, Harnett was publicly linked with celebrity husband snatcher Sienna Miller, 26.

Miller, who recently ended her brazen adulterous tryst with 33-year-old married actor Balthazar Getty, was seen with Hartnett at Shoreditch House in London prior to his mystery illness.

“They looked like a couple—and a good looking one at that!” a source said. “There was definitely a buzz in the air.”

Careful, Josh. Sienna’s a wild child, and you’ve only begun to heal from that one dinner.

Fans hoping to see Josh Hartnett in the stage production of Rain Man at the Apollo Theater in West London have been disappointed for the past few days.

Playbill reports that the 30 Days of Night actor, 30, has had to cancel performances since November 18, when he was taken in for examination at University Hospital.

Hartnett is expected to return to the production—which opened in August—for Friday night’s performance. In the meantime, audiences have had to settle for his understudy Richard Lynson in the role of Charlie Babbit, played by Tom Cruise in the Oscar-winning 1988 movie. (Theatergoers have been offered the option of exchanging their tickets for a later date of the play, which runs through December 20.)

The official reason for Hartnett’s absence is a case of food poisoning.

Yeah, must be something he ate. Like, for example, Sienna Miller?

Reports have surfaced lately that Hartnett has been hooking up with the 26-year-old Factory Girl actress.  Sienna’s controversial relationship with Brothers & Sisters actor Balthazar Getty, 33, recently dissolved.  Getty was still married throughout his romance with Miller.

Hartnett and Miller were reportedly seen at various nightspots in London last week.

Could Sienna Miller be the cause of Hartnett being admitted to the hospital? Is it possible that she possesses toxic, illness-causing properties?

It sounds far-fetched, but Hartnett wouldn’t be the first person that Miller has sickened this year.

First he was rumored to have gotten busy with an unknown female in the library at his hotel. Soon after, he supposedly shared some intimacy with 22-year-old O.C. vet and noted philanthropist Mischa Barton.

Hartnett’s latest alleged conquest? Sienna Miller, who’s newly single after her split with Brothers & Sisters actor Balthazar Getty.

Hartnett and Miller, 26, were spotted leaving Jalouse nightclub at the same time last week. Now Contact Music is reporting that the budding couple had a hush-hush get-together at the exclusive Shoreditch House private bar in East London.

“They definitely looked like a couple—and a good-looking one at that! At one point, they were holding hands across the table, but they quickly hid them underneath,” the paper’s source states. “They continued talking and drinking until very late into the evening—there was definitely a buzz in the air.”

Hmm; that seems odd; Sienna usually likes ‘em a little more attached. Perhaps she confused Hartnett with his single-but-committed doppelganger, Johnny Depp.

Grab a kleenex, dear readers. Husband poacher Sienna Miller has confirmed that she and Balthazar Getty have indeed split up.

“I’m single at the moment, and I’m completely happy with that,” Miller told Us on Friday at the Hollywood Dominoes: VIP Launch in London. “It’s nice not to have a relationship that the press constantly want to scrutinize and discuss. I’m cool with being on my own.”

No!!! How? Why? Surely these two wouldn’t let trivial things like Balthazar’s wife and children get in the way of their relationship?

Sigh. Well, guess it’s no surprise, then, that voracious, man-hungry Sienna went on the prowl after the Hollywood Dominoes event Friday night.

She eventually met up with Josh Hartnett at London club Jalouse. They left together at 4 a.m.—possibly to go read in the libary?

The actor was photographed leaving London’s Jalouse night club at the same time—but in seperate cars—as homewrecker and graffiti magnet Sienna Miller.

This seems like a natural course of events since a.) Miller and her married lover Balthazar Getty appear to be on the outs, and b.) Josh seems like a manwhore.

Well, you gotta hand it to Hartnett—he sure knows how to pick ‘em.

Than again, Sienna apparently might the one handing it to him now.

Is O.C. actress and noted philanthropist Mischa Barton already on the rebound from her breakup with Rooney musician Taylor Locke?

The Daily Mail reports that Barton was in hot pursuit of John Hartnett—currently in London rehearsing for a stage production of Rain Man—in that city’s Bungalow 8 club last night.

According to the paper’s source, Hartnett was gabbing over drinks with Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill when Barton made her advance.

“Josh looked pretty bored and was totally ignoring Mischa,” the witness reports. “She persisted though, and kept getting closer and closer to their table while dancing provocatively.”

The generally unremarkable actor apparently had a change in attitude; He and Mischa, along with a group of friends, headed back to the Soho Hotel, where Hartnett is staying, at 1:30 in the morning.

Barton did head back to her own hotel an hour later, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. An hour is plenty of time to work in a quick cram session at the hotel’s library.

Hartnett brought an unnamed female companion back to the hotel after a night out, and made a beeline for the hotel’s library, according to the Mirror.

“Josh and the girl were getting pretty hot and heavy,” a source said.

Hartnett seems to be doing better at scoring birds than getting into London’s hot spots.

After adjourning to the library, Hartnett pulled the curtain at the entrance to shield his activities from a prying public.

Unbeknowest to him, the Soho wants to keep track of their books. So the hotel staff witnessed the literary lechery on closed circuit TV.

“This means their every spit and cough was recorded, and cringing hotel workers saw all of Josh’s X-rated moves,” the source added.

The plus side is it was probably better than most of his movies.

The Kensington Roof Gardens is a members club in London that offers a nightclub, restaurant and a rooftop view of Kensington High Street.

American actor Josh Harnett was twice denied entry at the Kensington’s door for failing the club’s basic dress code.

In addition, the door staff weren’t able to recognize the scruffy actor. Maybe because Hartnett’s current manner of dress so much resembles that of Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp, that he was assumed to be an obnoxious Depp wannabe.

Perhaps Josh and Shannen Doherty should start a support group for stars who wish they weren’t so anonymous.
