‘Titanic’ Stars: Where Are They Now? (PHOTOS)

Nearly 15 years ago, James Cameron’s blockbuster sailed into theaters and quickly captivated movie-going audiences around the globe.

Eleven Oscars and over $1 billion in worldwide gross, Titanic is headed back to the big screen today – this time, in glorious 3-D.

Of course, much has changed between now and 1997; we have a new highest-grossing movie of all time (Avatar, also by Cameron), Gloria Stuart (who plays the elderly Rose) has passed away and Kate Winslet, at long last, has won a much-overdue Oscar.

Where’s Leo? Kate Winslet Steps Out Solo For ‘Titanic 3D’ Premiere (PHOTOS)

Rose with out Jack is like Juliet with out Romeo!

The re-release of one of Hollywood’s most epic and romantic films of all time Titanic premiered in it’s 3D edition in London on March 27. However, one very important character was absent from the red carpet!

Kate Winslet attended the premiere in a custom made black Jenny Packham gown with Swarovski crystal detailing, and posed on the red carpet with the historic director behind the movie, James Cameron. We also spotted Billy Zane who played Rose’s fiance Cal in the blockbuster hit, but the million dollar question of the night was: Where is Leonardo DiCaprio?

“Leo is in Louisiana shooting Django Unchained, that’s why he missed the Titanic premiere tonight,” a rep for DiCaprio told Celebuzz in a statement. “He will be down there shooting past the promotion dates [of the film].” Looks like a Jack and Rose reunion won’t be happening in 2012, except on the big screen!

Titanic 3D hits theaters worldwide on April 4, 100 years after the RMS Titanic historically sank, and 15 years following the film’s first release.

The always stunning Kate Winslet stepped out on the red carpet at the 37th Cesar Film Awards in Paris on Friday, and looked like a total knock out in this curve-hugging gown. Showing off a bit of cleavage, she looked both sexy and elegant with a chic up ‘do.

Who Almost Landed These Oscar Nominated Roles? (PHOTOS)

It’s hard to imagine anyone else playing Kate Winslet‘s role in Titanic or Rooney Mara‘s intense character in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but there were other familiar faces up for these parts.

We’re just days away from the 2012 Academy Awards, and we thought it interesting to look back at some of the stars that almost landed these Oscar worthy roles. Who admitted to auditioning for Bridesmaids? The TV actress told Celebuzz:

“I auditioned for Melissa McCarthy’s part – and that’s what’s weird … The part wasn’t defined necessarily as one thing [when I auditioned]. I was doing a very specific take on it, and they really liked it. But I think, ultimately, Miss McCarthy is perfect in that movie.”

Not all roles earn award nominations, but they certainly stick with you. Lindsay Lohan‘s role in The Parent Trap in one such role, and Shameless star Emmy Rossum admitted to Celebuzz that she was up to play the part. She disclosed:

“I was 12, but I really wanted the role. … Lindsay beat me out of the role, [but] I’m having the time of my life and currently working on Shameless.”

Looks like it all worked out!

Kate Winslet and new boyfriend Ned Rocknroll step out post the actress’ Golden Globe win on Sunday night wearing almost the exact same outfit!

The two were spotted arriving arm-in-arm at London’s Heathrow Airport both wearing similarly-colored jackets, black t-shirts, jeans and black shoes!

The look chosen for the figure was one of her most recent — the stunning red Eli Saab gown Winslet wore to the 2011 Emmy Awards, the same night she walked away with an Emmy for her role in Mildred Pierce.

Birthday Girl Kate Winslet’s Most Memorable Onscreen Nude Scenes (PHOTOS)

Kate Winslet turns 36 today, Oct. 5, and if we’ve learned anything from this Oscar winner, it’s that she’s not ashamed of her body. The actress is hailed as one of the best actresses out there and she’s also known for baring it all onscreen.

From posing nude for a portrait painted by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 1997 romance Titanic to her recent intimate scenes in the Emmy nominated HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, Hollywood has been taking notice of Kate’s curves for over 10 years now.

Even the super-sexy Halle Berry has admitted that she admires Kate for her fearlessness when it comes to onscreen nudity. The fellow Oscar winner told Elle magazine in 2008:

Kate has also commented on her numerous nude scenes. In a recent issue of V magazine, the actress said she hates it!

“I just go in and say ‘Oh f*ck’ let’s do it.’ and boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f*ck are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

She added about her aspirations for her acting career, “Because the day I go ‘Oh yeah, that’s going to be a piece of pie’, why f*cking bother? If you do that, you do not learn. I hope I’m always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It’s amazing. I’ve got that for the rest of my life for a performance I am proud of. It nearly killed me. I am really proud of the film. That’s it, moving on.”

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev jumped on the red gown band wagon with a super-sexy, show stopping Donna Karan getup. She told Celebuzz of the style, “It’s different than anything I’ve ever worn before. I like to take risks, I try to step out of the box every now and then.”

Kate Winslet on Getting Naked for Movies: ‘I Hate It’

Who could forget Kate Winslet getting her nude portrait done by Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic?!? And that was just the beginning of numerous movie scenes with Kate naked. However, the Oscar winner told V Magazine that she’s not a fan of stripping down on camera. She disclosed:

“I Hate it! Listen make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f*ck’ let’s do it.’ and Boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f*ck are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

The acclaimed actress upcoming movie Contagion hits theaters on Friday, and to the delight of everyone at Celebuzz, Kate disclosed to V that she has no intention of slowing down!

“I hope I am sh*tting myself over the characters I play for the rest of my life. Because the day I go ‘Oh yeah, that’s going to be a piece of pie’, why f*cking bother? If you do that, you do not learn. I hope I’m always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It’s amazing. I’ve got that for the rest of my life for a performance I am proud of. It nearly killed me.
