Tomorrow, Katie Couric will face off against former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the second time, when Palin guest hosts TODAY along side Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and the NBC gang.

As first reported last week, Katie is currently guest hosting Good Morning America this week while anchor Robin Roberts is on vacation. The show is on ABC, which will host Katie’s syndicated talk show in the fall.

The reasons behind Palin’s visit to TODAY remain unclear, but the situation is nonetheless eye-opening for two reasons: 1.) Palin will be on Couric’s old turf (Couric co-anchored TODAY for decades before leaving to host the CBS Evening News, in 2006); and 2.) the event will only rehash Couric’s now-infamous interview series with Palin from 2008, in which Palin struggled to answer many of Couric’s seemingly simple questions.

The CBS Evening News anchor will make her appearance on the February 6, post-Super Bowl episode, and by the looks of it, she’ll shimmy with Mr. Schue and have an unpleasant run-in with Sue Sylvester.  (Is there any other kind?)

According to Access Hollywood, the CBS news anchor Katie Couric is set to appear on the hit show as herself on the post-Super Bowl episode (just like newbie Kody Batchelor).

Not the first person that comes to mind when we think of a guest star on Glee, but we’re sure it’ll be fun!

Not one to miss out on an opporunity to promote her latest platinum-selling album, Fearless, country/pop singer Swift, 19, walked through clothing boutique Jeffery NY in Chelsea with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric while being interviewed.

Her main reason for flying to Manhattan, though, is to perform on tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live. She’s accompanied on her trip by her mother, Andrea, whose birthday also happens to be today.

“It’s my mom’s birthday, and I don’t think either of us would’ve believed you if you would’ve told us a few years ago that we’d get to spend her birthday in New York City—at Saturday Night Live!” Taylor wrote on her MySpace blog Monday. “Wow. It’s pretty unreal.”

Meanwhile, the singer is currently on a roll with her sophomore LP. Fearless is #1 on Billboard‘s Top 200 Albums chart for a sixth week, and has sold 2.1 million copies since its November release.

Emmy-snagging 30 Rock creator Tina Fey returned to her old stomping grounds once again on Saturday to reprise her highly popular characterization of everybody’s favorite lipstick-adorned pit bull, this time skewering Palin’s interview with CBS news anchor Katie Couric, with Amy Poehler portraying the super-perky talking head.

Among the subjects: Palin’s self-proclaimed expertise on foreign relations due to her home state Alaska’s proximity to Russia:

“Every morning, when Alaskans wake up, one of the first things they do, is look outside to see if there are any Russians hanging around. And if there are, you gotta go up to them and ask, ‘What are you doing here?’ and if they can’t give you a good reason, it’s our responsibility to say, you know, ‘Shoo! Get back over there!’”
