The bubbly singer from Texas, who since winning Idol in 2002 has gone on to receive two Grammys, three number one hits (including 2012′s ‘(What Doesn’t Kill You) Stronger’?) and millions of fans, is one of Celebuzz reader’s biggest draws. 10. ‘Miss Independent’
The first single off her debut CD, Thankful, “Miss Independent” was Kelly’s first official test outside of the American Idol waters. Thankfully, she passed with flying colors. The catchy single, which was co-written by Clarkson and Christina Aguilera, among others, reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and set up the Idol winner for what was about to become a very successful career in the music industry.

09. ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’
This instant-classic is arguably the best song off her latest CD, Stronger, and rightfully went on to become Kelly’s first number-one hit in years. Give it a listen — you’ll be hooked from the very beginning.

08. ‘A Moment Like This’
Sure, it’s a little sappy, but what American Idol coronation song isn’t? “A Moment Like This” makes our list mostly for sentimental reasons, but also because it’s further proof that no other Idol can belt a tune quite like Kelly. (Seriously. Remember Justin Guarini’s version?)

07. ‘Already Gone’
In one of her many collaborations with Ryan Tedder, “Already Gone” was second-most successful single off All I Ever Wanted, landing just outside of the top 10, at number 13. The somber ballad, in which Kelly laments the loss of another bad boyfriend, is another example of her ability to infuse a song with spot-on vocals and genuine emotion.

06. ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’
Proving she’ll always be a little bit country, the Texas-born Kelly teamed with an unlikely partner – country singer Jason Aldean – on his single, “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” in 2010. The result: A poignant and touching duet, one that landed Jason and Kelly at the top of the Billboard Country Singles chart for the first time in Kelly’s career.

05. ‘Because of You’
Adele isn’t the only singer out there who can rock a ballad all the way to the Billboard top 10. Indeed, Kelly did just that when she released the piano ballad “Because of You,” which peaked at number seven in 2005. The song was later turned into a duet with Reba McEntire, and while it was a huge success for both ladies, the original will always be our favorite.

04. ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’
Following the release of My December, Kelly needed a comeback single to thrust her back into the pop music spotlight. Enter “My Life Would Suck Without You,” an infectious, roll-down-your-windows-and-blast-your-speakers single that not only gave Kelly a much-appreciated career boost, but her second number-one single, as well.

03. ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’
“Since U Been Gone” isn’t an easy act to follow. Luckily, Kelly picked “Behind These Hazel Eyes” as the third single off her uber-successful sophomore CD, Breakaway, which once again landed her on the Billboard Top 10. With its heavy guitar and drum beats, the song was also one step further into the pop-rock world for Kelly, allowing her to win over even more fans in the process.

02. ‘Breakaway’
By the time her second CD was ready to come out, it was clear that Kelly was ready to move on from her days on American Idol. Fitting, then, that she released the CD’s title track, “Breakaway,” as her first single. Within the very first notes of the song, the message was clear: Kelly was more than just a reality show winner, and it was time for her to spread her wings and, well, break away. Two Grammys later, we think she made the right call.

01. ‘Since U Been Gone’
In what has become one of the definitive songs of the new millennium, and one of the all-time great break-up anthems, “Since U Been Gone“ is Kelly Clarkson at the top of her game: fun, feisty and empowering, all backed by vocals that would make even Mariah Carey sit down for a second. Seven years later, “Since U Been Gone” remains as epic and awesome as its very first listen.

The Texas native went back to her Southern roots with this latest country recording of  her hit “Mr. Know It All.” The American Idol alum announced the new version (which hits iTunes April 3) via Twitter, writing excitedly: 

“I had a lot of fun recutting the song and getting the opportunity to work with Dann [Huff]!”

Kelly has also landed herself a country boy!

It was revealed this past week that the singer has been dating her idol Reba McIntyre‘s stepson Brandon Blackstock. Kelly has reportedly been seeing the 35-year-old talent manager since late last year. Kelly confirmed she was dating someone during a radio interview earlier this year. 

KC has had a close relationship with Reba, and a few years ago, they recorded a country duet version of Kelly’s top 10 single “Because of You.”

According to sources for Us Magazine, the American Idol winner is dating Brandon Blackstock, better known as the stepson of country superstar Reba McEntire and son of Kelly’s manager, Narvel Blackstock.

The report adds that Kelly has been dating the 35-year-old talent manager since late last year. Kelly confirmed she was dating someone during a radio interview last week.

As a celebrity, what are the benefits and disadvantages when trying to meet a mate?

Everyone thinks that celebrities have it so easy when it comes to love, and that’s not always the case. The benefits are that celebrities are generally fine-looking and therefore they don’t have much trouble attracting others. They are out and about when promoting a project, and this is a good thing because love rarely comes knocking when you’re home in your PJs. The disadvantages are that many celebrities have trust issues and think others may want to be in a relationship with them because of their fame. Also, when shooting a movie on set or being out on tour, that may take them out of the dating pool for months at a time.

What tips do you have for celebrity women when looking for love?

Celebrities should be open to dating others who are not celebrities. They should be open to finding a “regular” person to date. Look at Oprah and Julia Roberts – who are in long-term relationships with men who are not famous. I’d also say keep an open mind when dating and remember the wider the net you cast, the more fish you catch.

What are the pros and cons of being a single celebrity?

There are many pros to being single for anyone. You can be selfish and look out for yourself. You can plan your own schedule and see your friends or travel whenever you want. I think the cons are that you can get lonely at times.  People tend to be happiest when they are in love or in a relationship with someone who is watching their back.

Take a look at these single female stars and tell us what sort of person would be right for them:

Cameron Diaz : Cameron is a sporty girl with a zest for life. I see her with someone who is athletic, active, and who equally enjoys a good time. However, she may benefit by dating a guy who has some left brain logic who can take her down a few notches if her zest gets too zany.

 Kelly Clarkson: Even with her celebrity, Clarkson seems like a sensible hometown girl. She appears bubbly yet grounded. I can see her with a handsome man from humble origins who is confident enough to handle her success. Let’s hope he loves music too.           

Demi Moore: Demi may have some trust issues coming off of her devastating split from Ashton and for good reason. I’d love to see her with a regular guy next time around. Her next beau should be grounded, strong, and confident – as opposed to egotistical. He should also be a mature and honest person who understands the contract that comes along with a committed relationship.

Demi Lovato: Since Demi has reportedly been in rehab multiple times, her next boyfriend cannot be a partier. She needs a more stable boyfriend — someone to nurture her and help her make good decisions.

And finally, what advice do you have for all the single ladies out there, famous and non-famous when it comes to finding love?

Stay optimistic! If you want to find love one day, you will. Go on lots of dates and have fun with it. In the meanwhile, enjoy being single. Some of my very best memories are from when I was single and could come and go as I pleased.

Kelly  shared how nervous she was on her WhoSay account before the game. Perhaps some of her nerves came from all the criticism Christina Aguilera received the year before when she flubbed the words.

“Just finished rehearsing the anthem in Indy … wow, I’m actually really nervous about singing at the Super Bowl ha!” Kelly wrote. “Here’s hoping I nail it and don’t screw it up!”

In a tweet, host Steve Jones announced that he will not be returning for the show’s sophomore season. Neither will controversial judge Nicole Scherzinger, whose exit was just confirmed by a show producer, according to the LA Times.

If that wasn’t enough, there are also (admittedly unconfirmed) rumors that, yep, Paula Abdul is leaving the show, too. Yikes!

Of course, The X Factor is no stranger to change; Cheryl Cole was fired from the show shortly after auditions got underway, and was replaced by Scherzinger, who originally signed on as the show’s co-host.

Still, change can be a tough thing to deal with, and while we wait to find out if Paula really is leaving, too, we’ve offered our picks for who we’d like to see join the judges’ panel in season 2. Check them out in our gallery now!
