Steve Martin may be the age of most grandfathers, but he is a father for the first time at 67 years old.

The Shopgirl star welcomed a child with his wife, Anne Stringfield, last December, reports the New York Post.

Martin is reportedly living out his Parenthood days with his writer ladylove and newborn baby in Los Angeles and “has been very private,” according to the mag.

However, he’s not the only Hollywood veteran to become a parent later in life.

Die Hard star Bruce Willis became a father for the fourth when he welcomed daughter Mabel at age 57. The actor told the Daily Mirror that his ten-month-old makes him “very happy,” adding that “it’s just very exciting.”

Other leading men who’ve welcomed children in their fifties include Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson and Michael Douglas.

All the actors have found a renewed sense of youth with their tiny tots and continue to be doting dads well into their sixties.

A new trailer for Warner Bros. new Superman reboot, produced by The Dark Knight‘s Christopher Nolan and starring Henry Cavill, has arrived, complete with death rays, burning cities, caped figures and soaring superheroes. Also: Kevin Costner. How good is it? Read on to find out…

In addition to the film’s epic scope, the trailer definitely drives home Snyder’s grounded and gritty take on Superman, seemingly going a very Batman Begins route – especially in terms of exploring young Clark Kent’s relationship with his parents, Jonathan (Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane).

Unlike previous Superman movies, the Kents seem to play a more prominent role than usual, one that casts them in a darker-than-expected light when dealing with their adopted son and his powers. Case in point: Following a scene in the trailer where Clark uses his powers to save a school bus full of kids from drowning, Jonathan confronts Clark about the young passenger who witnessed Clark’s heroics.

“Should I have just let him die?!” Young Clark asks.

“…Maybe,” Jonathan grimly replies.

After acquiring the movie rights to E.L. James’ novel Fifty Shades of Grey, Universal Studios is now suing Smash Pictures for their planned porn parody of the book. Smash Pictures and director James Lane (aka Jim Powers) are being taken to court for their movie Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation, which Universal calls a “willful attempt to capitalize on the reputation of the book.” [The Hollywood Reporter]

Safety Not Guaranteed’s screenwriter Derek Connolly is having a good week. Earlier, he signed on to co-write the remake of Flight of the Navigator with Safety’s director Colin Trevorrow. Now, he’s writing a script for a mystery Pixar movie to be directed by Teddy Newton. Details on the script are being kept under secrecy, but what we do is that the writer has been developing the movie for at least a year. [Variety]

Jennifer Lee, a co-writer on Disney’s hit Wreck-It Ralph, will co-direct Disney’s upcoming animated feature, Frozen. Lee, who also did script work on the film, joins Tarzan director Chris Buck to tell the story of the Snow Queen. Disney announced Lee’s hiring via press release.

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm is circling a comedy to be his first leading role on the big screen. Epic Fail, written by Kevin Costello, will feature Hamm as a downtrodden high school teacher who recruits two students to kidnap his wife so he can play the hero and rekindle their marriage. The film will be released by 20^th Century Fox. [Variety]

True Grit’s Hailee Steinfeld has joined Kevin Costner in the thriller Three Days to Kill. The Academy Award-nominated actress will play the estranged daughter of Costner’s character, a dying assassin who uses his last mission to reunite with his child. McG (This Means War) will direct. [Deadline]

On any given day, actor Chris Pine makes us swoon. But when the Star Trek hunk hops on a motorcycle and throws on a nice pair of shades, he makes us pine (pun intended).

On Saturday, the This Means War star hopped on a bike to film a scene for the Untitled Jack Ryan Project in New York City, and let’s just say we’re jealous of the bike!

Pine is the latest Hollywood heartthrob to play the role of Jack Ryan. Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affeck have already taken stabs at the Tom Clancy spy.

Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley also star in the prequel, which is set to be released on Christmas Day next year.

Whitney Houston may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.

The legendary singer died at the early age of 48, leaving behind one final project playing on the big screen now.

Sparkle – Houston’s last feature film — will treat moviegoers and fans of the vocalist to one last never-before-seen look at the diva.

What was Houston’s breakthrough role?

In memory of the beloved superstar’s final bow, Celebuzz tributes Houston by circling back to her very first acting gig in the romantic thriller The Bodyguard.

Houston starting her recording career in the 1980s, but it wasn’t until 1992 that she took on Hollywood.

Starring opposite Kevin Costner, Houston played Rachel Marron — an extremely successful, Oscar-winning singer-actress who took the world by storm — a persona not unlike the real performer.

Plagued by crazed stalkers and death threats, Houston’s character hired Frank Farmer (Costner) as her personal bodyguard — commencing in an epic, interracial romance.

Houston’s big screen debut proved that she could wow the crowd with both live musical performances and film scripts.

While the film was well-received by viewers, it was The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack album that took home the gold.

The Grammy Award-winning CD, largely dominated by Houston songs, was wildly successful — prompting her to do a worldwide concert tour.

Houston later went on star in subsequent movies like 1995′s Waiting to Exhale, and The Preacher’s Wife, 1996.

Celebuzz went back into the movie archives to find a clip of The Bodyguard‘s famous ending.

Though the two must part ways, Rachel and Frank share a heartfelt goodbye, as Rachel (Houston) belts out the beautiful ballad, “I Will Always Love You” for this classic scene.

The British Open has invaded once again, but you don’t have to to be a pro to get into the swing of golf.

What could be better than watching a live golfing competition?

If anyone thinks that golfing is boring, think again.

Whitney Houston‘s funeral was held on Saturday asclose friends and family sat in the singer’s childhood church in Newark, New Jersey to say their goodbyes. One guest in attendance was no other than her The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner. Houston and Costner had become close during the filming of the 1992 movie, so the actor took the opportunity to recall some of his fondest on-set memories with the singer at the service.

“The song ‘I Will always Love You’ almost wasn’t It wasn’t suppose to be in the movie. It was supposed to be ‘What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?’ — but it came out the year before in another movie,” Kevin said at the beginning of his speech. “So what becomes of our broken hearts?”

“Whitney was the only one who could play Rachel Marron at that time,” he told the crowd.

Costner also recalled a fond memory of Whitney’s audition for The Bodyguard in which the make-up she had put on herself minutes earlier was melted off by the studio’s bright lights. Costner said Whitney had removed the studio’s make-up she had on and instead used her own. 

“She seemed so small and sad at that moment and I asked her why she did it. She said, ‘I just wanted to look my best,’” he recalled. “If Whitney could hear me now, I’d say you weren’t enough, you were great … People just didn’t like you, they loved you.”

Brad Pitt stars as Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane in his latest flick Moneyball (out on Friday), and it’s all about the true story of Beane’s controversial draft that used computer generated analysis to create the perfect baseball team.

Kevin Costner found himself facing a different audience than he’s used to on Wednesday—members of the United States Congress.

The Dances With Wolves actor showed up in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday to testify at a Congressional hearing and explain his possible “partial solution to the tragedy unfolding in the Gulf.”

Last month Costner offered oil company BP the use of technology he’d developed for the cleanup efforts following the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. And today he discussed the technology, which was developed by his company Ocean Therapy Solutions, before Congress. According to the actor, the machine he developed uses purifiers that filter oil from water through the use of centrifugal forces.

Describing himself as a “discouraged U.S. citizen and entrepreneur,” Costner asserted,

“What I can provide is a technology that is available immediately, a technology that will allow rigs to resume operation and put people back to work.”

Costner added,

“We are all at fault here. It’s just too easy to blame BP. What we need to do now is come together.”

At least he didn’t call BP execs a bunch of “morons.” Unlike some of his show-biz colleagues.

Don’t worry, BP; Kevin Costner is coming to pull your butts out of the fire.

In a move that pretty much nobody could have imagined, the Dances With Wolves star has stepped in to help solve the current oil-spill crisis in the Gulf Coast. Apparently, for the past 15 years, Costner has been developing and investing in (to the tune of $24 million) technology to filter oil out of water, and has offered his device as a possible solution for the oil spill. Not surprisingly, BP, which quite frankly seems to have run out of ideas, has agreed to test out what it’s calling “the Costner solution” beginning next week.

In a statement regarding the collaboration, Costner emphasized,

“It’s not anymore about talk. It’s about doing the walk, and that phrase was probably invented down here.”

Costner came up with the idea for the device while filming the 1995 flop Waterworld. Nice to see that something good came out of that whole mess.

While strolling down a Manhattan sidewalk, the actor (who apparently never leaves home without a trusty pen) was approached by a hopeful panhandler.

Costner just kept smiling at the paparazzi. Hey, what ever happened to giving to the poor, Robin Hood?
